I'm so sick and tired of ordering pickup and they don't give napkins or utensils . CHEAP . The last time that I went here, I went on my lunch break and it took me over an hour to receive two appetizers. They were not busy when the customer service was horrible. This time I decided to give them a second chance, now I have no idea what this mac salad is, but it tastes like tuna and it's disgusting . They really need to step their game up.

Stopped here for lunch the other day. I got the chasu rice. The pork belly could have used a little more salt. But it was a good sauce on it. Veggies were great. I added unagi on the side and that was delicious. Service was fast and the place was cozy. I like that you could also order from the Thai side, even if you're on the ramen side.

Ramen 101 - Midtown (1 star for the crab rangoons, and even that feels generous) Let me preface this by saying: I didn't walk into Ramen 101 expecting Tokyo-level culinary transcendence. But I also didn't expect to be spiritually assaulted by what can only be described as culinary cosplay. Red Flag #1: Pay-first policy. Always a sign the food's about to commit a crime. Red Flag #2: I asked for green tea. She handed me black. I said, "This is black tea." She said, "I'm pretty sure it's green." Ma'am, unless green tea has started identifying as charcoal, we have a problem. I had to break it down like a toddler lesson: Green tea is green. This is black. Ergo, not green tea. She blinked like I'd just taught her quantum physics. The ramen? Flavorless. Noodles: store-bought and sad. Broth: tasted like hot water that once met a bouillon cube in passing. The rice? Soap-flavored. I don't know who's washing dishes and cooking rice in the same sink, but please stop. Cleanliness? Questionable. I've seen gas station bathrooms with more dignity. Crab rangoons? The only edible item. But even then, they felt like survivors of a tragic menu. ‍ Manager: When I asked for a refund, he hit me with microaggressions so subtle they could've been a TED Talk on passive hostility. Staff: Entirely Latino. As a proud Latina myself, I say this with love and accountability.. if you're going to run a Japanese kitchen, honor the cuisine. This wasn't fusion. This was confusion. No umami. No depth. Just vibes and soy sauce. This place treats ramen like a side hustle. Like it's something you microwave between TikToks. Midtown deserves better. Japanese cuisine deserves better. And frankly, my taste buds deserve reparations. Final verdict: If you're craving ramen, go anywhere else. If you're craving disappointment, Ramen 101 has you covered.

I came as first-timer, but will definitely be a regular! The person who took my order was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the Seafood Ramen to go. It was absolutely delicious!! I loved that they packed the broth separately. Nice seating outside, where they brought my order to me. This place is a pleasant surprise.

Ramen is great here. Chill atmosphere. Great amount of seating. Plenty of vegetarian options. My date and I couldn't decide between Thai and ramen so we were able to order off both the Ramen 101 and Orchid Thai menus - the interior of both restaurants are connected. Service was great and prompt, restaurant was clean. We have been here a handful of times and it's consistently good. Only challenge can be finding parking around here.

I'm not sure as to why this place has bad reviews but I enjoyed my tonkatsu ramen & my husband enjoyed his black garlic! Maybe we just got lucky? Not sure but it's always worth to try rather than not at all. It was quite tasty, only thing was that there was not spice to it at all even though we asked for . They do have chili oil and crushed red pepper at the table though! It is odd that they have you order and pay first then sit. But regardless of that they did not lack the customer service for our table. I even asked for corn for my ramen while I was already eating it. They were kind enough to not charge me. This place is quite clean as well as their bathroom. Although I'm a bit sensitive to scent so the bathroom spray or scented thing they utilize was rough for my nose and head.

We stopped by Ramen 101 recently and had a pretty average experience. The food was good--not amazing, but solid. We tried the Gyoza, Pork Ramen, Crab Rangoons, and Edamame. Everything was tasty enough to satisfy a craving, but nothing really wowed me. The setup is more cafeteria-style: you order at the counter, grab a seat, and they'll bring the food out to you. While that's fine in theory, we found ourselves having to get up several times to ask for things because the staff wasn't very attentive. They were polite when we approached them, but most of the time, they were huddled together chatting instead of checking on customers. It was frustrating because it felt like we were doing all the work while still being expected to tip at the counter. Overall, I'd say this place is okay if you're in the mood for ramen and don't mind a more self-serve vibe. The food was good, but the lack of service definitely brought the experience down for me. 3 out of 5 stars.

I got the vegetarian ramen with black garlic oil and green onion. The broth was light creamy and very tasty!! Overall I highly recommend! We got our ramen pretty fast after ordering as well. The ambiance is gorgeous!

This place is awesome, don't believe the bad reviews. Me and my coworkers come here for lunch and it's always good. I either get ramen or the Hawaiian bbq plates.

Vegetarian - Vegetable Ramen $14.95 / recommended, medium spice if you like a little heat.

*** Vegetarian Review *** Quick review that I'll finish later, but for a vegetarian ramen, this is one of the better ones. Definitely ask for a medium spice level. I've tried it both mild and medium and mild is very bland. The ramen broth is vegetarian and not the sesame broth that some ramen houses offer. That sesame broth is so strong and overpowering, but this veggie broth was really tasty. The portions of all the ingredients were very generous - enough to share a bowl of ramen and order a vegetable tempura next time. I would eat here again.

    Plastic found in my soup.
    Eric ..

The food was pretty good but it's better to order over the phone or in person as if you order online they charge quite a bit extra. Also if you're sensitive to plastic in your soup, be careful. It's my second time getting food here for takeout and there is no plastic wrapping for any of the utensils, so there's no way it could have fell in after I dumped the soup into the bowl so it probably fell in during some part of the cooking or assembly process. Not a huge deal to me as it's probably just an isolated incident but it's something to be aware of.

First time trying ramen 101. It's right next to Thai orchid. The big difference is at ramen 101 you order at the counter, no table service. I went on Saturday with some friends.. they had a painting class happening inside. We ordered and went outside. They brought our food out shortly after. I got the chicken ramen which was alright. The best part about it was the eggs. It really has no flavor. The ramen wasn't even cooked all the way. I'm not sure what the big hype is about ramen places but I think I make better ramen at home.

For basic ramen, this place has you covered. Perfect place to go for that with casual counter service. The interior and decor is modern and gorgeous. Beautiful aesthetics. Since this is casual counter service, once they drop off the food at your table the servers make themselves scarce. I understand, staff shortages still exist. When I needed napkins, I had to go over to the next dining area that is a Thai restaurant but ran by the same staff and kitchen. I did my best imitation of an aircraft marshaller to wave down staff. I did this twice, once for napkins and the other time for a to go container. Possibly having napkin dispensers on the table would be helpful. At least they had sauces and packaged chopsticks on each table. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. It was beautifully presented. Visually gorgeous. The broth flavor was basic, it was not as flavorful as I am use to. It was not awful just lacking a rich distinct flavor. It was not bad tasting. It did have a beautiful opaque cream color though. The grilled pork belly slices were delicious. The marinated bamboo shoots and egg was tasty. Yum. The egg was served sliced at medium boiled consistency. But food flavors are all subjective, it is a matter of preference. Neighborhood tidbits: They also have an outdoor patio on the sidewalk facing 16th Street right in front of the restaurant. The parking is all street parking. Parallel parking y'all.

black garlic ramen spicy sooo good! my first time here and will definitely be back! the meat, broth, and toppings were all top quality!
