My girl surprised me with this spot. I had no idea we were going out for sushi, so that made it even better. We started with the jalapeño bomb appetizer, and wow... those were amazing. The flavor had the perfect kick without being overwhelming. For sushi, we ordered the 50/50 roll and the Sunrise roll with fish eggs on the side. I've been to sushi restaurants before, but everything I tried this time was new to me and it was fantastic. I could really taste the smoked salmon in sunrise roll, which I loved. I'd never had fish eggs before, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were actually really good. Definitely glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. We also ordered a small sake bomb. I told my girl I had never tried one before, so we made a little video of us doing it together that was a fun moment. The Korean barbecue chicken in the bento box was really good too. I like to test out places who carry raw fish/sashimi by ordering their chirashi donburi (assorted fish bowl). Selection of fishes were standard. The freshness was awful. Tried the rainbow roll and spicy dragon roll, and both looked good but were surprisingly bland with very little flavor. Even the bento box was just okay--nothing really stood out. Went here for dinner for my anniversary before a show at the SAFE credit union. The restaurant is big and nice, but I think the ambience it has is more so a place to eat with family or friends rather than a romantic date night. There is lots of available seating in the restaurant and it was relatively full when we dined in. The service was good. The workers were nice. I personally enjoyed my meal, I got a vegetarian roll, the Z roll which was yummy (as well as a hand roll). All the rolls were 50% off which was nice, I do feel that half off is a fair price to pay for the rolls themselves. If you want sauce on the side, like spicy mayo, they charge $1 extra for it. We went here for a work lunch. There were 9 of us. We arrived around 11:45am, we thought they opened at 11:30, it turned out that they don't open till Noon. We all waited outside till Noon. They didn't open a minute early. The place was empty, we defiantly didn't need reservations. They put an extra chair at a table of 8 for us. We were immediately given water when we sat down. We were asked if we wanted drinks. One coworkers said she wanted hot tea. He eventually came back and took our orders. Our orders came out in a timely matter. After that we didn't get checked on. Came in on a Wednesday evening around 6. Crowd was pretty empty. My friends and I were seated at the bar and given waters and menus. The food prices here aren't high but they also aren't serving anything of high quality here either. For chicken thighs doused in teriyaki sauce, a simple salad, mixed shrimp tempura, white rice and 4 California rolls or was $22 before tax. Some of the sweet potatoes in the tempura mix were burnt, the shrimp was really good I'll give them that. The deep fried California rolls were solid. Simple but big and filled with imitation crab. The chicken teriyaki wasn't bad they just were cooked and sauce was poured over them. Didn't knock my socks off. I honestly feel like I could make something better. The server also told my table it would be an extra $1 charge for a side of siracha. I've never been to Bento box and I am in no rush to go back. It's what the kids call mid. I was excited until I saw that most rolls were $25-$29, of course they're half off! We tried a jalapeño bomb appetizer, forgot the name of the roll but it has jalapeño in it and bacon topping and was about $28 before the discount, and a tofu teriyaki bento box. Appetizer was aesthetic but overpriced. The roll was good but the bacon was not, the tofu was cooked agedashi style served with a teriyaki dipping sauce. If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. Went for dinner tonight with my family and ordered a noodle and chicken plate. I ordered it mildly spicy. When my food was delivered it was so spicy it was not edible. I asked my waiter if they could remake it for me and he said yes, but that I would still need to pay for the meal. I was shocked to hear that and asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Ashley Le, came over and refused to remake the dish. She said "spice level is subjective". I told her I would not be paying for the meal because I wasn't satisfied and didnt even eat it. I told her this was horrible customer service and she said, "Customer service is subjective." She said she would not be removing it from the bill. We went back and forth like this for about 5 minutes. I finally said "you can either take it off the bill and let us pay for the rest of our meal or we will leave without paying for anything". This finally got through to her and she reluctantly removed it from the bill. This restaurant has completely gone down hill. It was completely empty at dinner time on a weeknight, and now I understand why! Medium quality food, horrible service. My friend and I came here for dinner on a Friday night around 6:30PM. We were seated pretty fast, but the restaurant started getting noticeably busier after we ordered. The inside of the restaurant is pretty spacious, and there's a bar area with a few TV monitors propped on the walls. It does get a little loud depending on the crowd. Our waiter Erick was very personable and kind. He was busy running around and taking care of other tables during the busy dinner rush, but he checked in and connected with us whenever he had the chance. Sushi rolls are apparently 50% off, but my friend said they always have that offer up. The menus price the rolls around $25, but they end up half off. We each got our own roll. I ordered the Alex roll, which came with spicy tuna and shrimp tempura on the inside, topped with salmon, unagi sauce, and spicy mayo. I personally really like the way the sushi was rolled and cut - there were no "end" pieces with the huge tempura sticking out, which I'm not a huge fan of. And each piece was sliced in a manageable size to eat. The roll was cut into 9 pieces. It might look small, but I ended up full and satisfied with just the one roll. We came from Los Angeles for an Educator's Conference and were looking for a place to have dinner for a group of 10. Initially, we were going to eat at Station 16 across the street, but when we asked them to provide us 10 individual checks (because we get reimbursed $30 per person, per day by our district), they turned us down. All 10 of us walked out dissatisfied. Looking for a new place to eat we saw Bento Box and thought we'd try it. Worried that they too would turn down our request for 10 individual checks, we sent one of our group to ask before we walked in. The staff assured us they would take care of us and quickly prepared a table for us. The place was clean and had great ambiance. The "beverages" and food started flowing and we all had a great time sharing food and stories. We will definitely be coming back every year for the great food and wonderful service!!!
