This place is one of the more unique Asian fusion places in Sac. The food aesthetic is there and the flavor is subpar. Our favorite was the Gyu-udon it had the most flavor out of all the ones we had there and it meshed very well together, and it's a highly must try! The takoyaki was lacking the octopus and was very bready, but the flavor is definitely there. Loved the tacos and my favorite was the Sake Taco which was loaded with salmon and was delicious. Not a big fan of the tamogoyaki unagi don as it was very lacking in flavor and it was very bland. The service was very fast and exceptional and our food didn't take very long to arrive and we had a wonderful experience there. The place might be a little small and probably has a maximum capacity of 30 people, but the food there was very unique and would definitely come back for different items next time!
Been here a few times and Engawa Fusion never disappoints! My favorite dish is their Tamagoyaki Unagi Don (eel) as it tastes very similar to what I had in Japan. Their takoyaki is also pillowy soft and a great appetizer to share. The sushi tacos are beautiful, but can be a little tricky to eat. Our waiter was attentive and came by multiple times to ask how everything was. Highly recommend any of their drinks. There's a seasonal menu that changes. The art on their menus is beautiful! Big props to the artist. The interior is clean and aesthetic. They have a small parking lot, but usually there isn't much difficulty to finding parking.
I was captivated by the curry udon, and thought it was rlly good! It was a bit saucier than I'd prefer though, but everyone thought it was good. The ramen was kinda salty, but the initial few bites were super delicious until it got salty. Broth has some nutty flavor to it and was quite rich. Portion was pretty big. The Unagi don was pretty solid. Big piece of unagi paired with tamagoyaki! Wasnt the biggest fan of the Salmon taco. I personally felt like it lacked sauce. It was a but inconvenient to eat bc it kept falling apart, but the salmon was good. I cant justify paying $11 to eat it again... Staff was friendly and food came out fairly quick. Didnt have to wait at all, theres plenty of tables and the place is quite spacious! Id still come again to try their other dishes and drinks. For sac, it's a solid spot!

Came around 12 ish on saturday. Pretty small interior abt 9 tables but only one other party at first. More came later on. Ordered the main ramen, katsu curry don and stir fried udon. Came out 10ish mins maybe not long. Main ramen looked pretty good, comes with ground meat. Flavoring is pretty good, i like the peanut butter addition. Katsu curry don wasnt bad, their donburis r pretty small portion i would say, lots lots lots of rice. Their curry was nothing special jus reg japanese curry, for 15$ its okay tho. Overall prices on their main dishes r pretty cheap, so for the portion its not bad. Service and taste wise nothing special but nothing bad.
I am always craving Engawa's Taco Sake (salmon)! It's so crispy, and they load it with so much fresh salmon. I'm also a huge fan of their Pear Blossom Coffee. If you're into jasmine milk tea or just want something super refreshing, this is the perfect drink. My friend even said it was one of the best coffees she's ever had! My sister and I always come here for their udon noodles too. I even bonded with my hairstylist over our shared love for Engawa Fusion because we're both constantly craving it! The parking lot is on the smaller side, but I've never had trouble finding a spot. The workers are always the sweetest and so welcoming, and the space itself is beautiful with such a cozy ambiance. Engawa Fusion opened back in 2024, but my first visit wasn't until March this year as part of a Yelp Elite Experience, where we got to try a complimentary sushi taco (crab), karaage chicken appetizer, and a house milk tea. Before that, I remember when this spot used to be Tasty House. Small parking lot shared with a smog station off of Stockton Blvd between Fleming and Chandler/66th, a block south of Florin. Super small dining room capacity too, I'd say maybe less than 50 people? I've also tried their pork katsu appetizer and caramel matcha with salted cheese cream. This most recent visit, I was torn between the katsu or katsu curry donburis, but ultimately went with the tamagoyaki unagi don and a caramel milk tea. Shared the chicken karaage which was perfectly breaded, crispy, thick and juicy with every bite just like last time. Honey mustard dipping sauce on the side. Also shared one sushi taco (this time salmon/sake) and Mom got the beef gyudon. Other than matcha or milk tea, they also have seasonal drinks like guava, butterfly tea, ube, peach oolong, Japanese coffee, etc. Next time might go for a ramen to try or that rich curry udon dish. I will also say a sushi taco is easier to eat than a handroll or a sushi burrito. The wooden spoons were interesting for the rice bowls. The portions are pretty big and this cute little spot in South Sac is worth checking out! Open 11:30am-9pm daily.
My friend brought me to Engawa for the first time which is located in its own plaza with a handful of parking spots. The inside of the restaurant is very cute and charming and the staff were very friendly during our time there. Items ordered: - Curry udon ($15): The dish initially looks like a neatly swirled mash potato bowl but is really the curry udon sauce with noodles underneath. The first bite was amazing and I just wanted to continue eating it after I started. The sauce is so creamy and smooth, and the udons were cooked perfectly. It filled me up so I only ate around half of the bowl. I would definitely get this again! - Taco Sake (salmon) ($11): This taco is HUGE and came with SO MUCH salmon that it was basically overflowing! The salmon was drenched in a flavorful sauce that almost felt like I was eating poke and the taco shell looked like seaweed with a tempura outer layer. Would also get this again!
Cute small restaurant for a mix of dishes with highlighted sushi tacos. Great for lunch and catching up with friends. We had a crab sushi taco and a spicy tuna sushi taco. The crab taco had average sushi crab yet the taco itself was crispy and crunchy. The tuna taco had fresh and spicy but good fish. Both were stuffed yet tasty with veggies and rice that didn't spill much if handled well. For drinks we chose seasonal peach sky and guava oolong teas. Both were fruity and fresh for the summer season. The oolong had salty cheese cream and small slivers of guava to peach. The peach sky had blue butterfly tea on top and boba at the bottom.
They have the best sushi tacos in the area. That's mainly why I come and they're pretty big so one is enough. Love the crispy seaweed tempura shell. I've come here a few times and never had to wait too long for seating. Although service can be a bit on the slow side but not too much that warrants a complaint. Service is nice too. I wish they had outdoor patio so I can bring my dog.
We just had a delicious meal! We were lucky to get the last table in the room. We ordered mixed tempura, which had two pieces of broccoli, which is all our favorite tempura'd vegetable. We ordered wakame salad, which was a good amount. We also had the gyoza, which came with 7 pieces. My daughter had the miso ramen, which was big with lots of toppings. My husband had the udon and really enjoyed it. Three of us had sushi tacos, and they were delicious and stayed crispy from the first bite to the last. We definitely plan to return and bring friends
Came in on a Tuesday around 5:45pm. The restaurant is well maintained and clean. About eight tables and four groups dining. The order taker was really nice and only out to go order. Three shrimp tacos, one tonkatsu, one chicken and one crab mix along with the mixed tempura and the tonkatsu. We also ordered two drinks- the peach sky and ube taro. As we have experienced on our last to go order....everything was great. The one new thing was the crab mix taco....loaded with the crab meat (not sure if it is the real crab meat) and delicious!!! Ate the food so fast for got to take pictures. Will definitely come again and want to try the noodle and the rice dishes.
The curry don had great flavor. I wish there was a pinch more curry. The dish was a pinch heavy on the rice to curry ratio. Tonkatsu was tender. Green onions were a nice fresh touch. I would definitely order this dish again. The udon with the silky potatoes on top is also very unique! I'm a big fan of takoyaki and was excited to try their version. I was ok, I wish the batter was seasoned and the octopus bits were a pinch larger. The sauces on top were a nice touch. The staff is always very kind as well. This is a must try stop and is very close to being a 5/5 from my perspective. Just needs a few small tweaks.

Second time coming to Engawa, and I'm really happy to see them doing well! The customer service has been great both times, and the portions are definitely worth it. I got the salmon sushi taco, while my mom and daughter got the unagi sushi taco. Everything was good, and we enjoyed our food! We also ordered the brown sugar matcha and passion peach tea. Both were delicious! We did ask for the sauces on the side since they tend to give a generous amount, so it's nice to have the option to add as much or as little as you want. I appreciate places that are generous with their portions and make sure their customers are taken care of. Definitely a spot I'd come back to! The place is a bit small but they have a good amount of customers coming in and out. I haven't had to wait and is usually seated right away! Always happy to support a local business, especially when the food and customer service keep you coming back. read more

So earlier this year I got introduced to this place thru a Yelp Elite experience and needless to say that visit really blew me away. Since that visit I have returned three different times,always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person.The flavor and seasonings are flawless,the noodles are cooked perfectly,great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience. I visited Engawa Fusion in Sacramento, CA [7301 Stockton Blvd] on Tuesday, 05/05/26, around 3:30 PM. I discovered this remarkable restaurant while attending a Yelp Elite Experience back in March 2026. I had a craving for the delectable sushi tacos, so I had to swing by. For late lunch, I ordered the following: * Passion Peach Tea * Taco Unagi * Taco Ebi * Taco Crab Mix The tea was absolutely refreshing and very forward with the Peach flavor. All of the tacos were addictive, with a soft crunch in every bite. Even though I was completely satisfied with the appetizing taste of all the tacos, my top favorite was the Taco Crab Mix. The inside of the restaurant had such an inviting, contemporary vibe. I enjoyed the entire atmosphere with its lovely decor and cool ceiling lights. There was also a good handful of chairs and tables available for guests (smaller restaurant but cozy). The service was beyond great and graciously pleasant. Engawa Fusion is a hidden gem that literally lives up to the reputation of being recognized as Yelp's Top 100 U.S. Restaurants List and the local top places to eat in the Sacramento area by the consensus of Yelp Elites, all within the 2025 year. Sushi Tacos... and Wings! [Sacramento CA] My first experience here was when I was introduced thru a Yelp experience event. I returned another time to join fellow Yelpers, Mitzi A and Mike H, for lunch. This was the first time I've heard of sushi tacos... there may be other restaurants in Sacramento area that offer these but this was the only place that I've experienced it. I ordered an appetizer and a strawberry matcha drink. The drinks were pretty and I completely forgot to take a photo of it! Loved the flavorful chicken wings. I love wings and this is the Nagoya-style chicken wings, Tebasaki. I also had some of the Curry Udon. Creamy and delicious! Very good customer service. Ambiance is cozy and intimate. We were driving down Stockton Blvd to another restaurant for dinner. We stopped behind the red light on the corner of Stockton Blvd and Chandler Dr. Engawa Fusion was next to us. I've been wanting to check out this place for some time. Once the light turned green, we pulled into their parking lot =D. Parking is limited and share with Smog next door. There are about10 parking spaces in the front. Not too sure if there are more behind the buildings. We walked in and was surprised how nice the inside looks. It is super cute and nicely decorated. Definitely a good spot for date night. Their menu consists of ramen, rice, taco, drinks, etc. Taco Karai Chicken: Taco was huge and filling. I thought the chicken will be like karaage but actually was chicken katsu. They really packed the taco to the max. Hiyashi Chuka: I rarely eat cold noodles but glad I did. . Party of 2 came on a weeknight evening and had no wait. We ordered the main ramen which was had a nice, light creamy broth. We also got the tamagoyaki unagi don with a huge soft unagi piece. The grapefruit green tea was really refreshing for these warmer days. Came here previously for a Yelp event and came back to try other things on the menu and so glad I did. The parking lot is small, and inside the restaurant is pretty small as well. I ordered the Taco Sake, which is filled with salmon, cucumber, avocado, white radish, cabbage, and poke ponzu sauce. It came as one large taco, which wasn't quite filling on its own, but could be enough if you order some appetizers alongside it. The shell was crunchy and overall was flavorful and enjoyable. The food here was peculiar. The shrimp tempura was terrible as the batter was very thick and it was like eating fried shrimp from a cheap frozen bag. It shouldn't even be called tempura since the batter was super thick, nothing like tempura. I ordered the curry udon that had a mashed potato-like cream on top. There was barely any curry and it was not flavorful at all. The dish tasted like mash potato udon with a hint of curry. YUCK! The menu indicates "shrimp tempura/chicken", however there was only the thick battered shrimp. When I asked the waitress about the shrimp she said it only comes with chicken OR shrimp. Since they never asked me which one I wanted when I ordered they chose for me. The menu indicates both shrimp and chicken and the fact they chose only one for me made me feel ripped off. Came here with a bunch of work colleagues that also like to explore the asian food scene in Sac, and we were all impressed. It's a cute, little join off Stockton Blvd, which as you know isn't the "cutest" street. However, once you walk inside you enter a world of japanese fusion. Normally, I don't go for fusions, because I feel that they try so hard to make it, but this place got it right. The popcorn chicken was hot, crispy, not too breaded, and the chicken itself was plump and juicy. Already, 5 stars for me. The tacos were just great. I threw in a tuna, salmon, and eel, which is a pretty standard sushi order for me, and I was blown away. It was just great flavor combined with enough fish and condiments. Sometimes places can go heavy on the condiments, and you're like "I wish they had more meat" but this was not a problem. I think this is a must visit if you are looking for something different. Finally made it out to try Engawa! There was no wait for a table for lunch. So many good options to order, we all got a bit of everything and it was all amazing. My friend found this spot from someone who posted on Instagram; and I'm so glad she did! We did a mini getaway to Sac from San Jose. I was so happy to be able to eat ramen and to also try the sushi tacos! It wasn't too busy when we went around 2. Parking is a bit tight / limited. Appetizers: potato croquette - this is my fav appetizer! It was cooked so well! 5/5 Ramen: I got the classic ramen. Such a cute little spot. It has its own parking lot even though it's a bit small. The ambiance was very nice and workers greeted us right when we walked in. I went to eat here around 3pm on a Saturday and it had a good number of tables taken! The place had a very nice, modern, and cute type of look with all of its decor. The menu had a lot of great drink selections! We ordered the Strawberry Matcha, Honeydew Milk tea, & Caramel Matcha. Sweet and refreshing! For food: we ordered the gyoza, Main Ramen, unagi, Sake & Tuna Sushi Tacos. The sushi tacos are huge! We weren't expecting it to be so big but it was packed with a lot of fresh fish, avocado, cabbage, and sushi rice! Everything was so flavorful and the tempura sushi seaweed shell stayed so well and the sushi didn't come apart as you ate it. This was much appreciated! The main ramen had a rich broth & a lot of noodles!! Ask for the restaurants house spicy chili sauce! It paired well with the ramen! Everything came in big portions and was very tasty. The service was great. Everyone was attentive and welcoming. 10/10 spot and we can't wait to come back to try more food options!! read more
This restaurant is a gem and conveniently placed next to a smog shop with no other stores around. 2 in 1 spot. Get your smog done and get a full belly too! Small space but impactful flavor. The whole experience is very aesthetically pleasing. The shrimp taco was a surprise. I never knew you could do something like this and this is done well. The seaweed taco holds its shape without crumbling and the flavors are subtle but delicious. The takoyaki was served hot with the flakes still moving. It's served with unagi sauce and some sauce that kinda taste like honey mustard. Velvety sweet, crispy, and chewy. All the flavors work well with each other. read more
What a lovely restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day with your partner! We went on Saturday night hoping that it wouldn't be too busy around 6 pm, but they still had seats available. Engawa is a family owned business that's a bit a of a hole in the wall compared to the neighborhood that it's in. It has a small parking lot so it can get packed easily. Once we arrived, we were sat immediately. I loved the atmosphere with its classing ambiance, homey vibes, and cute roses on the table for V-day. They have seasonal drinks, tacos, ramen, and a lot more fusion dishes. Service was quick, easy, and efficient. They have two bathroom in the back, which can be quite small. We ordered: - Takoyaki: One of the best takoyaki I've had with its fluffiness, not too oily quality, and lots of meat inside. - Shrimp Tempura: lightly battered shrimp with a nice side of tempura sauce for some extra flavor - Curry Udon: a beautiful presentation of house potatos on top with well cooked noodles for so much creaminess - Sushi Sake: a huge heaping of salmon and an assortment of vegetables. It's better to take some salmon off so it's easier to bite into. Love the crunchy texture of the seaweed taco. So innovating. - Sushi Unagi: I love eel and I was so excited to try this. A great portion of eel on top, that was smoky and rich with flavor. The apple and other veggies provided a clean taste that balanced out the flavors. Very quick service, tasty food, and an overall great experience. The fried chicken with the sauce tasted great, the sauce has a sweet flavor which pairs well with the fried chicken. The sauce reminds me a lot of Chick-fil-A sauce. The taco unagi was very good, the only downside is that the sauce drizzled on it was a bit too salty and messy once you're done eating. The curry was good, but it tastes very similar to the curry I make with Golden Curry. I'm not sure if they use the same powder mix. The Tamagoyaki Unagi Don had the same sauce drizzled over it, which was a bit too salty. Maybe if I wouldn't have eaten the taco unagi it wouldn't have been a problem. Both dishes were paired with an abundance of rice, so you will definitely get full. Overall the food was great and inside the restaurant is well maintained/decorated. read more

First time here and ordered their sushi tacos. I got 2 - taco karai chicken & taco tonkatsu. The seaweed were so cripsy and nicely made. It was so freshing and fulfilling! We also go the matcha strawberry. Definitely could taste the both flavor read more

I came here specifically for the sushi tacos and oh my goodness, these did not disappoint! I was going to order 4 but ended up ordering 3 instead because I knew I was too excited. I came in on a Monday around 11:40 am, was seated right away since I was the first customer, and my food came out in less than 10 minutes. The ambiance was simple with some greenery. The waitress was tentative and so kind. I believe her and the nice gentleman are the owners, I could be wrong. I ordered the sushi tacos - unagi, ebi, and sake. It was a major flavor explosion in my mouth and I can't wait to go back!! Thanks to TikTok, I had to try this. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!! Oh, I took the unagi to-go because I was so full but ai suggest you eat it right away because the shell will get soft. I still downed it though, so yummy!! read more
We came here on a weekday in the early evening just before prime dinner time. The ambiance is nice, with small, quaint tables throughout the restaurant and attentive staff. We sat and took our time to order, asking questions about the menu. We each ordered ramen, seaweed, and a veggie taco. The ramen was pretty solid, though it could have used a little more broth, since there was less broth than I am used to. But the toppings were good, noodles fresh and ingredients were quality ingredients as well. The veggie taco was so interesting -- it was made of seaweed but did not taste strongly of it, yet it was very crunchy just like a taco shell. They have something special with that item! They also have boba drinks and other caffeinated drinks here. The place is cute and I can see why they have solid ratings. Would recommend this place for ramen! read more

I thought the sushi taco was a novelty type of dish but I was so wrong. It is so perfectly balanced and constructed. I really appreciate how generous the protein serving size is. I could probably reasonably eat one or two. Super cute place, it felt cozy and intimate. The staff were friendly and attentive. I'll be back! read more
My first ever Tuna Sushi Taco and it did not disappoint! The Nori taco shell held together with every bite, very impressed. The Chicken Karaage was yummy, came with a mustard type dipping sauce on the side The Karaage had good sized pieces, so it's definitely sharable. The Curry Chicken Tonkatsu looked amazing The House Milk Tea was tasty, not overally sweet. The place was clean and tidy. The servers were nice.
