We ordered a quick order of sushi for delivery before we went on a tour around town. The foods were delicious and unexpected. We ordered Tempura Shrimp Roll, California Roll, Dragon Roll, Agedashi Tofu, miso soup and CK.R.E.A.M Special Roll. All the foods tasted good. The tofu was delightful. It's my first time eating sushi with crispy chicken. The CK.R.E.A.M Special Roll features chicken katsu, avocado, and asparagus rolled in soy paper and sauced with house-made teriyaki. I wasn't expecting that and I totally enjoyed eating it.
This is my go to for bento box meals, I specifically love getting the saba shioyaki with the beef teriyaki. The rolls and nigiri's are good. The last roll I got was the kicx it was huge but the sauce was a bit much. The salad dressing was too thick/dairy like for me but the veggies are usually fresh. Service is quick and for a sit down experience, I like the chill ambiance here.
First visit to this location. There's a large bar and a smaller size dining area. We went on a Sunday during a Niner's game, and there was a decent group of people at the bar watching the game. This place does not disappoint - food is very good. I definitely recommend the Shiso Bytes as an appetizer. I also ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Plate that comes with soup and salad. Service was good. The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive.
Wedashii was a great lunch spot for a group of people. It is really a standout for lunch since they have discounted bento boxes and other lunch specials. For a great price, there was a great spread of gyozas, California rolls, salad, rice, and orange slices for dessert. Certain main items could be added to this bento box, and I chose the salmon teriyaki, which tasted fresh, was nicely cooked, and was a reasonable portion size. My friends ordered similar bento boxes, and people who ordered more simple dishes like fries and wings still commented on the delicious quality of these items. This is a great go-to spot when you want a filling, affordable Japanese lunch in the Midtown area!
I think they probably excel in the sushi department. But, the bento box meals leave a lot to be desired. Our server for dinner was nice and attentive. The interior is dark and more bar/lounge in appearance. Pricing was average for a dinner bento, which has all the expected items of a bento. Food-wise the tempura was a bit on the greasy side, and the meat (beef rib eye per the menu) was tough and fatty. So much so that there were several pieces we each had to take out of our mouths and set aside. Overall, not a place I think we will return to.

We honestly love this place and Grace is the absolute best. When my sister and I have our sisters day out, we always come here. It's usually never busy and it's just an amazing atmosphere for lunch or an early dinner. The salmon belly, yellowtail belly, ocean trout, and albacore belly (all nigiri) are absolutely delicious. If I could eat it all I would order like 10 orders lol. The oyster shooters are also bomb and something I always tell people they have to try. We've been here about 4 times and only had one disappointing experience, which was their AYCE Food & Drinks Super Bowl event. I prepaid $280 for 3 people including a $40 tip and if I'm being completely honest it was such a disappointment. Service was honestly pretty terrible that day. When I called beforehand, the woman on the phone told me, "You can come whatever time you'd like because you have a reservation and we'll have it ready for you." Of course hearing that, I assumed that meant seating would be guaranteed. Unfortunately when we arrived around 4pm like I told the woman on the phone that was the time I will be coming in at, it didn't seem like reservations actually had seating set aside. While they were trying to figure out where to seat us, the only open booth was occupied by who we were told was the owner. The owner seemed pretty reluctant to give up the booth for customers who had prepaid and pre-tipped and were told our reservation seating would be ready. After about 3-5 minutes the server eventually convinced them to give us the booth while she was trying to see if any other tables might open up. Being able to overhear that interaction between the owner and staff honestly wasn't ideal and it made us feel like we were encroaching, which is never a great feeling as guests. The AYCE itself was also a bit underwhelming. I probably should've clarified beforehand, but it was more limited buffet style rather than made-to-order AYCE sushi like I was expecting. The options were limited and not really what I personally look forward to when going somewhere for AYCE sushirven for this type of event. That was the only time I've been genuinely disappointed at Wedashii and I wouldn't return for that type of event again. Now we usually just go on Wednesdays or Thursdays to see Grace. I don't know the sushi chef who worked when he we came this past Wednesday, but he was super friendly, told us about the day's specials, and made some really delicious sushi. We definitely appreciated that. As someone who has been a server in sushi restaurants for the past 5 years, I always try to encourage customers not to let one bad experience stop them from coming back to a place they normally enjoy. That's exactly how I approached this situation. We've had two great visits before that event and another good experience after. That's why I'm still giving Wedashii a 4-star review even after that disappointing event. The weekday staff, Grace especially, and the overall quality of the sushi are what keep us coming back. I still tell people they should try this sushi spot. Although I will say it was especially disappointing when I brought a friend here once and it happened to be during that experience.
Came here for an early dinner/late lunch with my friend and I'm so glad we tried it! The restaurant is super cute, clean, and has great space for seating (booth, table, and bar). The staff are super nice and friendly. We sat at the bar and the chef talked to us and added great energy to the space. Each of us got a different roll and the fish is so fresh and delicious! I got some miso soup it was full of umami flavor and the best soft tofu pieces. The spicy edamame was so so so good! It has the perfect balance of salty, spicy, and garlicky flavors. They have an extensive menu full of food and drinks, I'll definitely want to come back to try new items.
Wedashii- I've ordered on door dash before and loved the food! Finally went in last night with my gf! We got told we could sit anywhere. We picked the table near the back in the corner. The ambiance was giving mood lighting and club vibes. They had an interesting playlist going during dinner that was basically throwback rap songs! Our server was Eve and she was really nice! We started with two diet cokes and two cups of miso soup! We also got a Philly and California roll! Everything tasted really good! We then got two speciality rolls.. I can only remember the name of the one I got which was your mommas favorite sushi roll! Wow! The flavor was so good! Yum, yum, yum! The flavor in the food here was really good and the sushi tasted very fresh! I can't wait to come back! I've heard they have a great happy hour! I hope more local people know about this place! Move over Mikuni!
Went back to Wedashii last night with my dear friend and had another amazing time. The staff is so friendly and inviting. They forgot one of my rolls but made it very quickly when we made them aware. They also made us a special salmon belly piece of sushi that will be my new favorite thing to order. I got the We The Best roll again and it was still just as fresh and appetizing. We will absolutely be back for some more sushi.
The first time I had Wedashii was actually their cart at a Kings game, so I was looking forward to actually trying their storefront. I ordered the Mimi's Special which happened to be on their Happy Hour menu, so it was only $12. Happy hour is everyday between 3:30PM-6:00PM. I was very impressed with the roll. I'm not generally a fan of raw fish, but thought the roll tasted very fresh. Being Happy Hour, I thought $12 for 8 pieces was not bad at all. Overall, service was great, and everything came out generally fast. I also think their happy hour menu has a good amount of choices and would be curious to come back again to try other menu items on it.
Solid 3.5 stars. I came here for happy hour for the first time last week. Their location is in between J & K off 18th, easy to find and lots of metered street parking. The inside is not really setup well for a sushi restaurant. We sat in a booth that has quite a bit of distance between the 2 sides. Their happy hour is 3-6 Monday-Friday. We tried the spam masubi, albacore tuna for appetizers. For entrees I got the GOAT roll - this was a very heavy deep fried roll, like just a lot going on and the fry on it was heavy, I only could eat half. I also got the Knee deep roll which I enjoyed. Their tempura shrimp isn't that crunchy in the rolls so idk if there's just too much going on or too much sauce. The service was great and they put all kinds of sauces on the side for my friend that wanted to try. They do have one tv, kinda a weird older ambiance. Overall, a solid place.
Went here with my daughter because she said it was good! She was right . As soon as we entered we were greeted and seated. I really liked the location and atmosphere. Our person was beautiful Bella. Her style was delightful and I truly appreciated that. Shout out to everyone who was working that day. The hospitality was on point! Wedashi is hidden in downtown on 18th off of J street in a building that's nondescript. They seem to have a fairly extensive Sushi menu, but frankly it was difficult to read because the restaurant is extremely dark with poor lighting. The bar area, which was fairly busy with late in the day pre-happy hour drinkers, has much better lighting, and if it wasn't for the uncomfortable looking bar-seats, I may have selected to sit there. I wasn't comfortable ordering sushi because the vibe is rather odd, so I went with a safer option of the teriyaki chicken. The waitress assured me that it was really delicious. The meal I ordered included miso soup, salad, teriyaki chicken and rice. The miso soup was delicious. It was piping hot, filled with plenty of tofu, and really enjoyable. The salad was in a much larger bowl than I anticipated, and I like the fact that it was cold crispy, and the dressing wasn't overly sweet, overall it was a tasty salad. The teriyaki chicken and rice were a completely different story. The rice was not warm, and in fact, it tasted stale. It definitely was not freshly made. The teriyaki chicken had a very thin bland sauce over it and is not reminiscent of a properly made teriyaki chicken. The worst part was that the chicken was cold. So apparently it must've been premade and then maybe they ran it through some sauce or threw sauces on top of it. I don't know like pretty much pushed it around on my plate. I would have let the waitress know, but she completely disappeared after the food was brought to my table. I guess when I look like I was done pushing the food around my plate, another waitress showed up and brought me a to go container, and my check She asked me about my meal and I let her know about the chicken and rice and she immediately apologized and said that she would bring me some chicken to replace what I had. The customer service/ Eve made the situation better than it had been. Thank you again, Eve When I was going over my check, I noticed that there was an undisclosed service fee that had been added onto my check. I have no idea what the service fee was for, and I don't know if it's even noted on the menu, but if it is, it must be in really fine print, and it situations like this that feel a little shady. There was also a separate line item notating that if I wanted to pay with cash that they were offering a small amount off the tab for the cash payment. Overall, this was just a really a strange experience, more than likely I won't be going back. read more

My 2nd time here, this time just my daughter and I. She's super picky but she loved this place and her food. I only tried the Ranye west and these rolls are way tooo delicious and pretty spicy, got to ask for no siracha if you don't like to much spice. It's also super filling. Can't forget some saki bombs The service is always so welcoming and friendly. From the sushi chef, bartender and servers. They all work together and I love it. The ambiance is such a great vibe and I don't know who plays the music but they have a great playlist or the right radio station lol I will definitely be back. Highly recommend especially over Bento Box down the street. read more

I love this place! Kind of a hole in the wall, and tough to find, but I love the theme. Very 90's, the menu names are super fun and the server had a real personality! I don't much enjoy when they have no opinions. I asked what she liked and she had a few suggestions. Our food was delicious. Well priced and my drink was tasty! Ample alcohol, too. I always struggle when buying alcohol downtown, since they tend to water it down, but not here! We will definitely be back. Great food, great experience. read more

Went there on a whim. So glad we did. Food was yummy! Super dead when we first walked in so we were unsure, but we did go at a weird time 3:30pm. Server was nice. Wedashii is a little bit of mixed bag for me. I love sushi, like a lot, and this place as a whole is a hit or miss. For example, we ordered the Chicken Karaage and I don't recommend getting it. It did not look like it was cooked properly and I had to cut into it to ensure that it was cooked through. Save yourself the trouble and buy the Chicken Karaage at Trader Joes. Additionally, there were a lot flies when we visited, which I find unsanitary and unwelcoming. This is unusual because I was unsure of where they were coming from because this is not an open air restaurant. Their sushi is actually extremely good though. The rolls are extremely large and flavorful. So skip the appetizers and head straight to ordering rolls. I think 3 rolls is perfect for two people! read more
Oh my gosh! One of the best and most fresh fish and rolls. The service is always on point when we come here. The rolls are big and the sushi tastes super good. I love coming here and would come back. The restaurant has a big menus of the rolls and how they name them is pretty cute. I would come back! read more

Wedashii has a dive bar vibe, it was dark and moody. The service was good, our drinks and food came quickly. We ordered three rolls to share and they were delicious. I can only remember that one was the Ranye West roll. The names of the rolls were hilarious, we had a blast reading them to each other. Also, the stuffed jalapenos appetizer was AMAZING. I was in heaven. Highly recommend. read more

First time here and the service is amazing! They are so welcoming and friendly, they help you as soon as you walk in. The ambiance is super chill and they have awesome signs on the wall lol and the food is great! Everything taste so good! We had the teriyaki plate, spicy edamame, ranye west roll and the dragon roll. Definitely a must try and we will be back again! read more

I arrived on a Friday evening by myself and was quickly seated as there was no one else dining, just a few regulars at the bar. Lighting inside is harsh, too bright. Music loud, sports in the tvs. The food is acceptable. The unique maki roll was a little rice heavy and the darker sauce (was it unagi sauce?) was a little burnt tasting. Like a caramel that went a little too far. Ocean trout movie had dried dill which is fine I suppose. Beef salad pretty good. Would probably eat here again if I was in the area. read more

I came here for lunch. When I walked in it was still pretty empty since they opened at noon. I stood by the door because I wasn't sure if I had to wait for the hostess to seat me or I can grab a seat anywhere. One of the sushi chefs at the bar saw me and said I can sit anywhere I liked. It took a few minutes before someone handed me a menu and water. I was not impressed at this point with the service. I ordered the stuffed shiitake mushrooms and the No Half Steppin roll. I thought the roll was good and the stuffed mushrooms was okay. I wouldn't get the mushrooms again if I come back. read more

My coworkers and I ordered for pick up last week and I was quite disappointed. Let me start by saying, their customer service is great. I called to ask my questions before calling back to place my order and the gal on the phone was very nice and patient. Essentially, I ordered meals for six of us and requested each order be boxed separately and they were very nice to do so. When we arrived to pick up, they were wrapping up our orders and I got a chance to view the space. It's pretty open with plenty of seating available. Just not as big as the Arden location. I also think they could use some more decor. It didn't really look or feel finished. On to the food. I have very mixed reviews. My bento box was $16 for 3 items, a huge portion of rice, salad and miso soup. I thought this was such a great deal and was so excited to dig in! Until I dug into my VERY DRYYYY rice. I couldn't really enjoy my meal because the rice was so dry. It's almost as if I was given day old rice. I'm talking, perfect rice for making fried rice not for serving a bento box. Luckily my 3 entrees were good. I had the tempura which was a good mix of veggie & shrimp and batter was airy. The salmon sashimi was buttery and fresh. But the tonkotsu was dry and the sauce was bitter. Aside from my meal, a few of my coworkers had old rice in their sushi rolls. One specially said it was "crunchy" and another coworker said her rice was perfect...I'm not sure if some of us were just given the old batch and others were given the freshly made rice but it was not cool. They're still in opening stages so hopefully they can work out the kinks and I'll come back to give them a try eventually. read more

BEST SUSHI IN SAC!!! I've been to sushi spots all over Sac and none top Wedashii! The sushi is fresh and flavorful, the vibes are trendy, and the service is spot on. I eat sushi everywhere in CA because I travel for a living and this spot ranks up there with top spots in CA. Recommend: BBQ Albacore White, Rocco Flacco Flame, Yo Mammas Favorite, and Ranye West read more
