I first want to point out that the staff here was very amiable, which was refreshing having just come from a failed reservation at another restaurant. This restaurant wasn't that busy in-house (7pm on a Saturday) so we were sat immediately. Since we couldn't decide on what to get, we ended up just ordering the biggest sushi boat they had on the menu. It took a little longer than our server quoted us, but we had some misos (lacked some stock/miso paste) and sake while we waited. I have to admit that the extra time the sushi chef put into it was noticeable. The fish was organized neatly in the boat, and all the different items were easy to navigate between. Decent quality fish and good assortment, but I wish there were more pieces of some of the sushi (makes it hard to split evenly when there are 5+ people sharing. Aside from the miso, what kept this from being a 5-star review for me is how long it took for the kitchen item that was part of the boat to come out. We were in a little of a hurry so we ate the boat quickly, but the teriyaki didn't come out until 10 minutes after we were already done with the boat. We ended up taking it to-go. In short, I would still come back here, and hopefully I'll have more time to enjoy it.
My friends and I were here on a Friday night, and it was very quiet. Service was quick and friendly, and the sushi was pretty decent and reasonably priced. Their spicy edamame is a lovely appetizer. The dining room and restrooms were clean and uncrowded. Ninja Sushi is one of our frequent stops since it is close to us and usually not crowded. They do seem to do a lot of take-out orders, so that keeps them busy on the kitchen side. It's not fancy, but it's good. As others have mentioned, they now also have chicken options, but we haven't tried them yet.
Definitely a 1-1.5/5 star spot. Came in here thinking I'd have at least a decent 3-3.5 star experience but no. It's really hot outside ,100+ degrees, and they didn't have their a/c on until we finished majority of our food. I found a piece of saran wrap IN the sushi because I know they use saran wrap to help shape it. They need to add more lighting to their sushi-making area so they can actually see it before serving it to their customers. They completely missed it, obviously because they added everything else (masago, sauce, etc.) on top of the saran wrap. I also think the quality of their sushi is questionable and also the rolls fall apart very easily. I know things happen. I really do. But what really set me off from this experience is that the chef KNEW about the plastic being inside the sushi because we saw the waitress informing him and they did not apologize or even acknowledge it. A partial refund would've but nice too but I honestly just wanted them to at least acknowledge and apologize but no, the chef just said bye and pretended like he didn't just serve us sushi with plastic inside that we could've ingested since it's hard to spot due to it being clear and also being coated with sauce. Definitely my last time here. Unprofessional.
All rolls are made fresh to order and they don't mind a tweak if you need it! The service is friendly and helpful but the sushi chef is personable, friendly and very kind! Great personality! The ambience is upbeat and welcoming, just an overall excellent experience!
Ninja Sushi is a staple in our family for good times! Our latest sushi night was to celebrate our son's 16th birthday. The sushi chef was amazing and put the birthday candles in a California roll for us and even joined in signing happy birthday! This night will always be remembered by our family! As always, the food here is great. We've never had a bad meal here. Even our daughter that doesn't like sushi still loves to join us and get a non-sushi item. This time around she got the chicken Ramon and it was wonderful! The next time you want sushi, I highly recommend you try out Ninja Sushi. It's our go-to place!
Reasonable prices, friendly service and fresh fish. I only went with the kids, so we didn't order too many dishes, but we did enjoy what we did. The sashimi plate had a nice variety. The kids chicken teriyaki was a decent portion, but didn't include miso soup, which is always a hit with the kids, so that was a surprise. They also were out of several items that we really wanted to try, so that was a little disappointing. But overall we would come back if we were in the area.
My family lives in Sac and I was visiting family. They brought me here the last time I was visiting on my last night and it was great. Well, I was back up this week and we came here again on my last night with the family! It was a great call! We ordered the boat! The owner is super cool and he knows my Cousin so he knew what we liked on the boat and boy, that boat was amazing! Sushi, sashimi, tempura, seaweed salad, baked rolls, and it goes on! Such a great place and that will always be our last place to eat every time we visit! Thank you!!!
Worked a 10 hour overtime shift and had to treat myself to the best sushi in Sacramento! Their fish is amazing and fresh! The flavors of all the rolls I had made my palette smile! I ordered the Golden Scallop roll and it did not disappoint. The tuna was bright in color, the crabmeat is always delish and the grilled scallop on top with the special sauce and green onions just make that roll pop! Second roll was the 5 Star. It was impeccable! Comes with albacore, tuna, salmon, white fish and deep fried shrimp is an amazing combination so it was incredibly scrumptious! Last roll was the Ninja King Roll...so yum!!! It's a heck of a roll with tuna, yellowtail, salmon and red snapper that meshes so well together. I am full and fully satisfied!
I recommend Ninja Sushi. The food was good and the service was great! The moon rolls was my favorite sushi roll. Pepperfins were really good! The tempura was fresh! The server was very quick with everything! I will definitely visit again in the future.

Amazing service by Sushi Chef Tung and my waitress Hitomi! Food was delicious and the raw fish was super fresh. Also had the appetizers (was too hungry to take a pic) Crystal Ball which was cooked salmon wrapped with crab meat which was solid but my fav was the Pepper Fin substituted with Hamachi Has a chill vibe with neon lights, chill music, and a fun place to hang out on the weekend. Under new management and service is great as both chef and staff is attentive. Portion, price, and taste is great! Place is spacious and clean with amble parking. read more
I recommend Ninja Sushi. The food was good and the service was great! The moon rolls was my favorite sushi roll. Pepperfins were really good! The tempura was fresh! The server was very quick with everything! I will definitely visit again in the future. read more

very small piece of salmon, i guess the price is good, but not worth it. Piece to the left is not even connected, added just a little piece more to make it look more decent. Salmon Teriyaki is not worth to go. read more

Had sushi with the girls here and forgot to leave a review. We ordered the Ninja's Family Boat for 4 people to share -- it was perfect. The assortment was very thoughtful and the sushi boat was beautifully presented. The sashimi was fresh and the rice ratio wasn't too much. We also ordered some hot sake to complete the meal. And for the record, the service was awesome. I'm in the area a lot because I have family in town, so I'm looking forward to returning for future experiences at this joint. read more

I love this place! Best sushi spot, hands down! The decor, the owner, the food makes you want to come back and give them all your money! Jk. But thank you again for another marvelous lunch! We came around lunch time noon and they were slammed. The owner did his best to accommodate everyone waiting in a timely matter. He is cool, on top of things and delegates very well. The sushi is always fresh, at its best. Teriyaki Bento Box my kids favorite. Ramen here is fresh - No complaints! read more

Ninja Sushi has really good service. No one was there to greet us however. We just assumed they were short staffed because once we were seated the service was great. It's a cute restaurant which looks like it was something else non sushi before. That's ok because the atmosphere was cute. It's clean. And spacious. We ordered. The baked salmon, crunchy California, sashimi salad and garlic edamame. The garlic edamame is delicious. It was so good. That's a definite must try. This was the best sashimi salad I've had. The pieces of fish cut just right. Usually they're too big for a salad. This is another must try. The dressing was really good too. The baked salmon was just ok. We were hoping for a lion king roll so we tried this because there is no lion king. The crunchy California roll had a lot of rice. It seemed to be deep fried rice and little filling. I wish there was more crab filling. The prices were also reasonable. read more

The first time I came here was last week for a togo order since I go to school next door. I ordered the sesame chicken plate and it was delicious! The portions were small, but it was good. I gave them another try today for a Togo order again. And this was my sesame chicken. The sauce was soooo salty. It just tasted like soy sauce? It was not like this the first time I came. It is dark and salty. I'm willing to give them another try, and hope it isn't like this again the next time I come. read more

Came here for dinner for a late birthday celebration and we're so glad that this place was recommended to us! We never really travel on this side of town but this place is definitely a gem. We got the Agedashi Tofu, Cherry Blossom, and Orange Blossom Rolls. All were so delicious! We came with some friends of the owner so he let us try this shrimp which was incredible! It was so juicy and flavorful. We also had to take some Sake Bombs of course. The owner is so friendly, welcoming, and full of energy. You can really tell he puts a lot of work and passion into his restaurant. Definitely will be back here! :) read more

We came about 1:30pm on a weekend - it was dead. A few parties came in while we were there and it got busier. The sushi came out pretty quickly. But those who ordered hot food - bento boxes and the udon - those took a little while to come out. I got the Ninja sashimi plate. And I tried some of the hubby's volcano and moon rolls. My sashimi plate was fresh - I think it came with 4 slices each of salmon, tuna and Hamachi. The rolls came with 8 pieces and were good. The bento boxes look good - came with salad, rice and two things from a list like chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki or like California rolls. The udon looked like it was a pretty big portion too. When they brought out the check - they undercharged us and so good karma - we mentioned it to them and they charged us the additional costs. read more

Tuesday, 6/23/2020 - drove by Ninja Sushi for 10 years now and have always wanted to stop by to try it. Finally tonight I was able to try them. This is what happens when COVID19 happens and restrictions apply. Working from home, I no longer have to beat traffic and get home late. So am able to try it tonight. Upon arrival, there's plenty of parking, restaurant is clean, it's quiet for tonight, plenty of seating, bathroom clean, cute little set up. Pros: 1) restaurant is clean. 2) tables, plates and cups clean. 3) women's bathroom clean; has 2 stalls, 1 sink. 4) waitress was nice. She checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. 5) they have a buy 2 rolls, get the 3rd free Monday to Saturday evenings. 6) after we're done eating, we got our tab right away and the waitress took it and brought back my card right away. 7) restaurant was quiet. 8) tiger roll and the salmon scallop roll was good. For me, the scallop was a little slimy. I had a hard time eating that one. 9) I asked for a zigzag. It's not on the menu. They made it for me. A Zigzag roll is $17.95. 10) plenty of foods to choose from the menu. Cons: 1) it's really hard to find someone who can make a zigzag right and good. I am happy they made it per my request. But it was tooooo mushy. Not very good. You couldn't even taste the crunchy in it. Besides that, there is no other cons to the restaurant. This is a cute little restaurant. I might try it again and try a different dish. Glad it's close to us. read more

Do they have any rolls made with-/or/ the option to replace white rice with- BROWN RICE? Or even NON-rice rolled sushi//gluten free options?
Better to simply eat sashimi. Or a cucumber rolled roll.
