    Ninja's Family Boat
    Ayro P.

I first want to point out that the staff here was very amiable, which was refreshing having just come from a failed reservation at another restaurant. This restaurant wasn't that busy in-house (7pm on a Saturday) so we were sat immediately. Since we couldn't decide on what to get, we ended up just ordering the biggest sushi boat they had on the menu. It took a little longer than our server quoted us, but we had some misos (lacked some stock/miso paste) and sake while we waited. I have to admit that the extra time the sushi chef put into it was noticeable. The fish was organized neatly in the boat, and all the different items were easy to navigate between. Decent quality fish and good assortment, but I wish there were more pieces of some of the sushi (makes it hard to split evenly when there are 5+ people sharing. Aside from the miso, what kept this from being a 5-star review for me is how long it took for the kitchen item that was part of the boat to come out. We were in a little of a hurry so we ate the boat quickly, but the teriyaki didn't come out until 10 minutes after we were already done with the boat. We ended up taking it to-go. In short, I would still come back here, and hopefully I'll have more time to enjoy it.

Worked a 10 hour overtime shift and had to treat myself to the best sushi in Sacramento! Their fish is amazing and fresh! The flavors of all the rolls I had made my palette smile! I ordered the Golden Scallop roll and it did not disappoint. The tuna was bright in color, the crabmeat is always delish and the grilled scallop on top with the special sauce and green onions just make that roll pop! Second roll was the 5 Star. It was impeccable! Comes with albacore, tuna, salmon, white fish and deep fried shrimp is an amazing combination so it was incredibly scrumptious! Last roll was the Ninja King Roll...so yum!!! It's a heck of a roll with tuna, yellowtail, salmon and red snapper that meshes so well together. I am full and fully satisfied!

    Saran wrap in the sushi

Definitely a 1-1.5/5 star spot. Came in here thinking I'd have at least a decent 3-3.5 star experience but no. It's really hot outside ,100+ degrees, and they didn't have their a/c on until we finished majority of our food. I found a piece of saran wrap IN the sushi because I know they use saran wrap to help shape it. They need to add more lighting to their sushi-making area so they can actually see it before serving it to their customers. They completely missed it, obviously because they added everything else (masago, sauce, etc.) on top of the saran wrap. I also think the quality of their sushi is questionable and also the rolls fall apart very easily. I know things happen. I really do. But what really set me off from this experience is that the chef KNEW about the plastic being inside the sushi because we saw the waitress informing him and they did not apologize or even acknowledge it. A partial refund would've but nice too but I honestly just wanted them to at least acknowledge and apologize but no, the chef just said bye and pretended like he didn't just serve us sushi with plastic inside that we could've ingested since it's hard to spot due to it being clear and also being coated with sauce. Definitely my last time here. Unprofessional.

All rolls are made fresh to order and they don't mind a tweak if you need it! The service is friendly and helpful but the sushi chef is personable, friendly and very kind! Great personality! The ambience is upbeat and welcoming, just an overall excellent experience!

Ninja Sushi is a staple in our family for good times! Our latest sushi night was to celebrate our son's 16th birthday. The sushi chef was amazing and put the birthday candles in a California roll for us and even joined in signing happy birthday! This night will always be remembered by our family! As always, the food here is great. We've never had a bad meal here. Even our daughter that doesn't like sushi still loves to join us and get a non-sushi item. This time around she got the chicken Ramon and it was wonderful! The next time you want sushi, I highly recommend you try out Ninja Sushi. It's our go-to place!

Reasonable prices, friendly service and fresh fish. I only went with the kids, so we didn't order too many dishes, but we did enjoy what we did. The sashimi plate had a nice variety. The kids chicken teriyaki was a decent portion, but didn't include miso soup, which is always a hit with the kids, so that was a surprise. They also were out of several items that we really wanted to try, so that was a little disappointing. But overall we would come back if we were in the area.

My family lives in Sac and I was visiting family. They brought me here the last time I was visiting on my last night and it was great. Well, I was back up this week and we came here again on my last night with the family! It was a great call! We ordered the boat! The owner is super cool and he knows my Cousin so he knew what we liked on the boat and boy, that boat was amazing! Sushi, sashimi, tempura, seaweed salad, baked rolls, and it goes on! Such a great place and that will always be our last place to eat every time we visit! Thank you!!!

    Salmon Teriyaki

very small piece of salmon, i guess the price is good, but not worth it. Piece to the left is not even connected, added just a little piece more to make it look more decent. Salmon Teriyaki is not worth to go.

I recommend Ninja Sushi. The food was good and the service was great! The moon rolls was my favorite sushi roll. Pepperfins were really good! The tempura was fresh! The server was very quick with everything! I will definitely visit again in the future.

Had sushi with the girls here and forgot to leave a review. We ordered the Ninja's Family Boat for 4 people to share -- it was perfect. The assortment was very thoughtful and the sushi boat was beautifully presented. The sashimi was fresh and the rice ratio wasn't too much. We also ordered some hot sake to complete the meal. And for the record, the service was awesome. I'm in the area a lot because I have family in town, so I'm looking forward to returning for future experiences at this joint.

Do they have any rolls made with-/or/ the option to replace white rice with- BROWN RICE? Or even NON-rice rolled sushi//gluten free options?

Better to simply eat sashimi. Or a cucumber rolled roll.

Does this place still do the buy one roll, get the other free?

We sat at the bar area so, we didn't see how it was being made. My husband and I thought they probably forgot about our order and was sitting out for awhile. This time they sat us where all the chefs were making the dishes, so I finally saw how they make ngiri. There is 1 guy who makes it and I didn't like how he would make the ngiris but was not served asap. He would make about 3 sets at a time or some thing like that. The time from when it's made and time where it's served is too long. That is why the fish is warm by the time it got to us. Also, we didn't see a fridge where he was making it but it could be underneath around his leg area. I'm a little disappointed. From all the sushi documentary's I've watched, this is not how it's suppose to be. I regret ordering the Ngiri Mix again cause the fish was warm. Same like last time! I read other reviews where people have said the quality is going down. Even though, I am not a regular here, I can kinda tell that it is. My favorite are ngiri's and it doesn't beat Kura's ngiri's right now. Kru just give's bigger portions but the quality of Kura's is superb! Ibérico Kashira Kushiyaki $16+ Den miso tare, basil-mint pistou, grilled lemon - SO-SO. Pork was tender but was wayyy too salty. Kru's ambiance is dark, chill environment with lights shining down on where it matters like the food and selfie pics lol. It can get loud when it get's busy. Mos def chiq and aesthically pleasing. Every little detail from the ceiling to the floor, table setting, mural, bathroom, and even menus were all BEAUTIFUL! SPECIAL SHOUT OUT: To all the resto staff that helped us for both nights. Since that visit I have returned three different times, always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience.
