Gross Gross Gross.... and a little nasty on the side. When you think about take out sushi and a distasteful flavor comes to mind, this is the place you are thinking of. The sushi tastes like colored tilapia and extra starch flavored rice. I don't know how they cooke their food, but whatever they do it makes me sick everytime. Not an expression, I actually get sick. There are much better sushi places. I personally order from Iron Sushi down the street, and of course if it is between 5-7 go to Doraku for happy hour. The worst sushi ever! I wonder if people who rated this place with 4 or 5 starts have ever tried good, delicious sushi. I know, there's nothing to expect from a cheapy-fast-sushi, but they at least could've made the same rolls as they printed on their menu pictures. The menu is colorful and shows more or less beautiful rolls fully covered with masago, but what you'll get from these guys? Rice cubes with a tiny piece of something that looks like a fish with 5-10 berries of masago on the top of this cube. Generalizing, you'll receive just rice! As a matter of fact, they have mixed up my order and I brought me wrong sashimi with you know what? Crab imitation meat! Show these to Japanese, they'll laugh! I ordered carry out at roughly 7:45 and was told it would be delivered to the hotel in 45 minutes. The order arrived an hour later. The sushi is definitely cheaper than the other sushi restaurants in the area however the quality just isn't there. The avocados on my dragon roll was already browning and was drenched with the eel sauce. The spider roll I order only had soft shell crab in 3/5 pieces. The vegetable roll we order were cut into very large pieces. The sashimi on the salad was not very fresh. I would not order from them again. read more

This place is great. As others have noted the quality of the sushi is not top notch, but what they lack in quality, they make up in quantity and price. If I ever come down with some type of mercury poisoning from eating too much raw fish I will probably have only this restaurant to blame for my over indulgence. This place is simply wonderful. They're friendly, quick, and dish out great food. I'm surprised they price their rolls so inexpensively. Delivery out of Hiro Sushi is great as well. The drivers are friendly and the food gets to you fairly quickly depending on the time of day. If you want Japanese quick and inexpensive you need to get your butt over here. read more

Used to order delivery from HIro's once or twice a week for almost 2 years. I no longer due to terrible customer service. Placed an order of chicken katsudon and some other items. The order arrived without katsu sauce. When I called, they basically accused me of lying about not getting the sauce. "She said she did put it in your order." I asked "Why would I lie about katsu sauce? I'm a very repeat customer. I don't want free food or to complain, just my katsu sauce." I had to literally argue/beg for them to deliver katsu sauce which is essential for chicken katsu-don. They finally agreed to deliver but I had to wait 30 mins. The delivery person knows me and did apologize saying they make mistakes all the time. The people at Hiro's couldn't care less about losing a very repeat customer. Excellent food, quality, quantity, price, location. Long hours open, great service, fast order. Busy busy orders. Fresh fish. Love the 3 peat, shrimp fried rice, yaki udon. South beach is not cheap to eat but no need to break your wallet. I wish they had this spot in NY. Best part is you can sit in or take out without the absurd automatic 20% tip everywhere else regardless of poor service or takeouts who claim to be restaurants and don't even offer water without extra charge. No gimmicks getting overcharged here unlike many Miami restaurants sadly. So I recommend and no complaints. read more

This place almost gets 5 stars from me. I work down the street from here and I come here at least 3 times a week. It is hard to find something that is healthy and consistent when you only get a thirty minute lunch break. I don't like packing lunch and like to eat healthy, and this is normally a expensive habit. But Hiro's makes it realistic for me. This place has anywhere else beat. The sushi is fresh, the prices are right, and the service is great! I call it in and with in ten minutes it is ready. The service is great, the ladies that work the register are always super friendly and smiling. Don't get me wrong, it is not the best sushi on the beach, but for the price it is. I ordered 3 rolls-rainbow-unagi-dragon, combo noodles and gyu Don. All of it was terrible. The sushi wasn't fresh whatsoever. Flavorless rolls in general. Rubbery fish. The combo noodles were very poorly spiced and used nasty meat. The chicken was chewy and the shrimp were small. The gyu Don was probably the best thing we ordered but that's not saying it was good. It was cheap, but a COMPLETE waste of money. We threw it in the garbage after a few bites. read more

Came back here after a Miami yelp elite event. Brought friends after recommending it. They loved it here! The food was really good and hit the spot. This time I got a chicken bento box and the caliente roll. Chicken was really good and it hit the spot. Caliente roll was spicy but not spicy enough for me. I also got to try the shrimp tempura roll which was also really good. If you're in the south beach area I highly recommend you check Hiro's out. Our group of four feasted for under 40$ with tip. I'm pretty sure the only reason this restaurant has a high rating is because of the pricing. I've never seen prices so low for sushi. However, you get what you pay for. The rolls were standard and not particularly creative or amazing taste-wise. We ordered miso soup and it came in a styrofoam cup. The fish itself was not the most fresh. The staff was great and extremely attentive and helpful. Overall, I would probably not come here again if I really wanted a sushi fix because it just wasn't totally satisfying, even at half the price of other places. read more

I've been going to Hiro's for years now. It's def a local secret of sorts I'm sure. Of course they don't have the fanciest or best sushi around, but for the money you can't beat it. If you're looking for a tasty, low calorie option on the beach late at night you can't go wrong coming here. My personal favorites are the caliente roll (sans fake crab), sashimi salad, tempura don, yakitori, and 3 roll combo. So good! Cheap sushi and friendly staff. I eat here religiously.

Fish was good, salmon nice and buttery. But the rice was dry. Tuna tatami was yum with a delicious sour sauce to dip in.
