I love this sushi place. It's small but the sushi here is fresh. The rolls are evenly cut and not too big. The staff is friendly and polite. They have a television where they play sports. During baseball season you can catch a Dodger game, or a Laker game during basketball season if you're seated in the right seat. Kids can draw art and post it on the wall. The sushi bar chefs will greet you and say thank you when you leave. They have Sake and beer. We love the Michael roll as it has a bit of spice in it including jalapeño with cream cheese, but all the rolls are good. This place is away from downtown Burbank but can also get busy later at night during the weekends. The wait times are usually not bad. read more

Probably my go-to spot in Burbank. The sushi is very good and very fresh. When I get a cirashi(?) bowl, sometimes the cut of fish is too thick, but here it isn't. The cirashi bowl is bomb! The salmon teriyaki is really good, even plain California rolls are really good. The prices are very fair, and if you come for lunch the lunch combos are great. Gotten the cirashi bowl twice, the salmon teriyaki, and the tempura is good. However, i would actually give this place 4.5 stars, as service can be a little slow sometimes, my lemons were forgotten once, and the last time I went here, the tuna had a fishy smell. read more

I don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but there were too many positive reviews and after my takeout dining experience I just had to say something. Let's start with the Miso Soup: Dishwater is my point of reference. Next up the Fried Gyozas: overcooked on the outside, Tasteless on the inside. The Edamame was fine. The Avocado roll: well if you like brown avocado than come get it out of my trash can. Sorry, but I like my avocados green. Cucumber roll: the cucumbers were wilted and tasted soggy & old. California roll: It was okay, but had some of that brown avocado that Sushi Dake is known for. Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura: 2 pieces of tasteless shrimp and meager portions of veggies. There are a lot of fancy rolls on the menu, but don't be fooled. Unless they use fresh food, avoid at all costs. read more

We ordered halibut, tuna, salmon, and white fish sushi. Veggie/Shrimp assorted tempura. Popcorn Lobster roll. Laker roll, cali roll, and tuna roll. Everything was melt in your mouth- can't get enough- out of this world- fresh sushi! I am glad I chose this place. The only thing I didn't like was the price. It was way too expensive for my taste. First impression was a bad one, but my second time here was VERY satisfying. Sometimes I eat Japanese and don't feel completely full shortly after. I'm also weary about the quality of beef used, but this one was good! The lunch combo was $10.95 for miso soup, salad, rice, and your choice of two main items (I had beef teriyaki and 4 pieces of spicy tuna roll). Everything was great. The rolls were a little sloppily rolled, but when I tasted it, it didn't matter. i ordered to go and it was quick enough. You can wander around the quirky fish/reptile pet shop next door. hmm...I had similar reaction to the woman taking my order as Michaela A. listed in her experience. They weren't rude or inattentive, but not necessarily welcoming or a friendly vibe. The older lady that came in later seemed more genuine. I'll be back for the food!! read more

There are certain foods my wife and I can't make at home. Like sushi. And usually, we'd go out to a restaurant to enjoy said things. However, during this pandemic, that's not possible. So we turn to takeout. But even finding good sushi to take out has become difficult. Enter Sushi Dake. Open until 8pm (as of this writing), the brave staff at Sushi Dake is serving some damn fine food and for very reasonable prices. They were very friendly, and the food was absolutely lovely. Very slow service. There's only 1 server during lunch, so the service is really really slow.

Called in a to go order. Just from ordering over the phone the little Korean lady had nothing but attitude just for asking what the dinner box included. "Are you looking at our menu online? It doesn't say?" I say no. She was being sarcastic. She tells me completely the same thing again and actually incorrectly adds salmon tempura. If you don't know how to communicate effectively you might want to stay off the phone. When I get there the same lady (I can tell by her arrogance and attitude) starts to ring me up. I ask for a couple sides. One eel sauce, one spicy Mayo, one teriyaki sauce. She sighs. "What did you order?!" You didn't order that... shes talking under her breath. I said what I can't understand what you're saying. She tells me " Next time order this over the phone. You didn't tell me on the phone!" I said I'm telling you now. She's starts laughing and then proceeds to tell me that eel sauce is expensive and teriyaki sauce is expensive as she looks at my copy to sign in front of me as if insisting I tip her well for giving me these 3 sides of sauce. Mind you. There are only 3 tables inside. I'm not inconveniencing her. Also I'm picking up a 80 order for two people. I don't need to warn you of anything over the phone. Nor do I need to be guilt tripped over .39 cents of sauces. Lady needs to know when to open her mouth and not and while about to leave a tip is no time to be smart with me. Needless to say I won't be returning. I've frequented this place since 2017. Never again. I can see the reviews are trending with rude customer service reviews. They're accurate.
