Decent sushi for an airport restaurant! Tried SV roll, salmon skin roll, edamame, miso soup and seaweed salad and I liked them all. It's expensive but expected when you get food at an airport.
This Sushi Boat location is in terminal b in the San Jose airport. My husband and I walked from terminal A and it wasn't too long of a walk. They have a grab and go section of sushi. We got a roll, and it was really good! We were really happy that we ordered the chicken katsu because it was delicious. I don't think katsu sauce, so the nice worker got me some teriyaki sauce. The seating area was a little disheveled and we did have to wipe down our own table. It is a little bit more on the expensive side, but we expect that at the airport. We were happy to be able to have a place to sit and a yummy meal! I would go back for sure. They had Diet Coke available in a bottle.
This sushi spot is located in Terminal B at SJ International Airport, between gates 22 and 23, Smash Burger on the left, Trader Vic's Outpost to the right, shared seating with these eateries on both sides of the Sushi Boat storefront. I got a side order of the chicken & pork gyoza which comes with 6 pieces (the full order comes with 8 pieces plus rice and soup, according to the worker). Service was sufficient, and my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The taste exceeded my expectations, some of the best fried gyoza I've had anywhere, let alone an airport. It was freshly made and cooked just right, with a flavorful filling and a light crisp exterior (a bit of a tempura batter), served with soy sauce for dipping. I was very satisfied with my snack while waiting for my flight to board. I have no complaints.
Grabbed a sushi roll to go before the flight. I ended up getting a dragon roll. It cost $19.95. The sushi roll tasted good but it was expensive.
It's not your gourmet Sushi store, but it's a decent option to grab a California Roll on the go, or sit down for an udon if there's some time before your flight. The place is relatively spacious and clean, the service was prompt. I got my udon right about the time I finished my sushi.

I was looking for something quick to grab before boarding my flight and nabbed one of the hamachi rolls from the case of already prepared sushi. I was so surprised at how good the sushi was. The rice was the ideal sushi rice texture, the hamachi was tender and fresh, and the thinly sliced green onions on top were perfection. Would totally choose to eat there again in the future!

Food is expensive, but you do get an extremely generous portion. The teriyaki bowl could easily have been two meals. It took about 15 minutes to get our food and they did have to-go containers available so we were able to eat on the plane. Would I order this again outside of an airport? Probably not. But it sounded way better than overpriced burgers and fried chicken.
People often ask me what's the most delicious food for me. Any protein over rice will do. This is why I chose Sushi Boat SV (Silicone Valley) at SJC airport. We're in the middle of Covid-19 pandemic. Lots of airport restaurants were closed. I was attracted by a Polynesian couple in front of the tropical looking sign. So, I checked out Trader Vic's and walked to Sushi Boat. Not because they serve cold food only but they were not attentive. Granted. They're airport employees, not part of Trader Vic's. I won't write a review about them. So, I took my money to get hot food. It's been a busy day. This is my first solid food if the day at 4 pm. I gobble down a teriyaki chicken donburi and miso soup. Ahhh... So comfy. The rice is one of the quality ingredients that I could taste. It's a little in the sweet size. If they add a little vinegar, it could be sushi rice. Chicken was grilled perfectly. All I need is some warm sake. Of course, not here Because I was starving, I sat by the wall in a stool. So, no one would see me woofing down my food in 5 minutes. Ahhh... I just need a nap and I'll be ready.
Excellent airport option at SJC. Their prices are reasonable for being an airport and the food was actually pretty good. Their front counter setup is quite a mess. Their food claim area is right in the middle of where people are in line to order. Make sure you grab a receipt for your number. They did not do a good job of getting food to customers unless you knew your number.
My flight at SJC got delayed, so I thought I'd take a look around the airport for some good food before going to my gate. I was looking for something healthy to eat since I was suffering from food poisoning before. I never knew this place existed since my gate is often on the other end of SJC, but it's a great option if you want any Japanese food! It is quite pricy, however. I got the vegetable udon soup, which cost $15.95 + tax. It was so nice and refreshing to eat. There weren't many people at this place when I came around 5:30pm on a Friday, so you can place your order quickly. I think it was worth the price, because the bowl was huge. I actually didn't get to finish it since the delay got cut back by 10 minutes. Service is ok, they call your order and you have to get it yourself, instead of them bringing it to you, which was a bit of a hassle since they set it a little high on the countertop which could easily cause spills if you're not careful. There is plenty of seating around but I did get a little confused as to whether they'd bring it out to me or call my order, so I decided to sit right in front of the counter. I might come back and get a sushi roll next time I'm waiting for my flight here!
Ordered Chicken Donburi to go. Service was fine. I am ordering around 4:37pm, still descent amount of people coming in and out. This restaurant is located at Terminal B near Gate 22. I had time to kill, decided to come get food here instead of staying at Terminal A to get food. read more

The sauce was great, the portions of the food was great. I did like the presentation of the food. My only wish is that my chicken be partially raw. Chicken is the easiest meat to cook; you don't want to be closed due to food poisoning. Please make sure the meat is cooked well. I would have waited 5 more minutes as long as I know my meat is completely cooked. When you order ask them to cook the meat well done for the chicken teriyaki plate. Do not be satisfied with what they give us. Also, sitting area where all passengers sit to eat the food was filthy. It looked as if it had not been cleaned all day. Food inspectors state the food is passed. Do a surprise visit on a Sunday after a 49ers game and you will see all the travelers how they have to just be satisfied with what is available in the airport. read more
I know airport food prices are highly marked up, but this place was way higher than I expected. The sushi is pretty low quality, packed with insane amounts flavor from sauces rather than the actual ingredients. At least there is plenty of dining space and the staff are friendly. The red bean mochi was pretty good. read more

One of the best places to get food at SJC! I got the chicken donburi and also tried some unagi don and both were pretty good when it comes to airport food. It comes with a good amount of rice, veggies, and a bowl of miso soup! read more

San Jose airport is not an airport with many food options. Luckily, we found this place with a decent variety of choices and available seating. Chicken Donburi. Pretty hearty meal, comes with a side of miso soup. Chicken was good and the vegetables were fresh. Could have used a little more sauce, or available sriracha sitting around. Temperua Udon, good broth. Decent noodles. Not much to be said about it. It's good if you're really craving it, but I would probably try a different meat option next time. Very surprised there aren't ramen options. So, when you're desperate for asian food or even decent food at this airport, I would come here. Its pretty good for an airport so hence the 4 stars. If you have 20 min or less, I would not visit here if there's a line. read more

Very expensive even for airport prices: 23 for unagi don with not much unagi (though it did come with a miso soup on the side). Food tastes good though so if you're willing to pay extra then check it out read more
Sushi Boat is an A-OK option if you're feeling Japanese food at the San Jose Airport... The cashier was friendly when I brought my pre-made roll to the register. I had the Giant Roll and it was pretty good. It definitely exceeded my expectations for airport sushi. Overpriced at the same price you'd pay for a roll at a real sushi restaurant but overpriced airport food shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I appreciate that they had Japanese beverages available. The Red Bean Mochi along with the white peach Calpico soft drink definitely hit the spot after a long weekend of heavy American comfort food. My friends had the Udon and they too were happy with their meal. In the dining area to the right of Sushi Boat, many of the tables were dirty and haven't been wipe down. Two garbage areas were so full, that people were justs placing their trash on the counter housing the trash cans. We sat for 45 minutes and no one came around to wipe tables or clear the garbage area. Overall, if in the San Jose Airport again I would have no trouble with swinging by Sushi Boat for a roll and some Japanese snacks. Arigato! read more

This is one of my favorite eateries at SJC. It is surprisingly good sushi for an airport spot. They also have a clean dining area so you can enjoy your meal. I had the salmon donburi today and it came with miso soup, rice, and veggies and was a good meal. The staff were very nice as well. read more
Airport sushi?!? Who would have thought! This place is a great addition to SJC if you're looking for something other than fast food. They have a selection of hot dishes and pre-made sushi rolls for grab and go at check out. I ordered the chicken donburi bowl and a California roll. The donburi bowl had a large portion of teriyaki chicken, steamed broccoli and cabbage, and sticky rice. It also came with miso soup. Between that and the California roll I had way more food than I needed. I saved half the donburi for after my flight and it was still yummy! Service was friendly and my food was prepared very quickly. It was also not as expensive as I expected. The chicken bowl was around $12 and the California roll was $8. Considering it's an airport I was expecting much worse. It's not the best Japanese food you'll ever eat but hey, it's at an airport and if you'd like something other than a burger or chicken nuggets, it's a great, fast option. read more
Nice to find a sushi spot inside the SJC airport, too bad it's not that good. Turning away customers left and right quoting 20-25 minutes, it would probably pay in spades to add another sushi chef or two, or someone on the fryer to speed up the process. I got a terribly presented, 2 rolls jam-packed into a plastic container with lid...I'm eating here damn it! I got not-so Crunchy Roll [$12.75, 3.0 stars] and a Dragon Roll [$13.50, 3.5 stars]. The overpriced Suyari Sake [$15, 3.0 stars], terrible because it's good sake served with a paper Dixie cup. Poor service and average rolls made the experience just okay. BTW, if you're interested, it's in Terminal B near gate 23. read more

3.5/5 Pretty good for airplane sushi and it was made pretty quickly too. Plus, there are outlets at the tables for you to charge your phone/laptop. Spider roll 3/5 The soft shell crab was no longer crispy and there was a bit too much eel sauce drizzled on top. Hamachi roll 4/5 Great roll and tasted refreshing compared to the spider roll. read more
Have to agree with the reviews that say this is pretty ok sushi for an airport. Not great, not terrible. The hot dishes looked better - tempura, bowls, etc. I had the dragon roll; might get the rainbow roll next time. They have some nice looking chilled sakes for $17-22, but just went with an $8 Sapporo today. read more
