Andres was awesome. We had such a great time at Sushi asahi and he made the whole night even better. He gave great recommendations, and just had a really easy, welcoming vibe. You can tell he knows his stuff. Everything came out at the perfect pace, and he paid attention to the little details that most people wouldn't even notice. The food was actually pretty solid once it arrived, but the wait times were unacceptable. We waited over 1 hour just for miso soup, and the rest of the food took forever to come out as well. While the quality of the sushi was good, it was hard to enjoy the meal after spending so much time waiting. Service could definitely be more attentive and communicative when delays are this long. read more

Came here many years ago for my birthday, moved and now I'm back. Still just as good. I came here for lunch and I also ordered from here.. it's definitely a fave. I If I could eat here every day I would. I ordered the baked scallop roll 4pcs twice because it was soo yummy! It's fresh and a decent size. I also ordered the spicy tuna, and I gotta say I think this is the first time I ordered a spicy tuna roll 8pcs and it was actually spicy.. they use real spices.. I was pleasantly surprised.. I have also ordered to go here too, I got the roll combo and it came with 23pc of cut sushi rolls and a miso soup... ahh the best share meal or for one.. In the roll combo it included the Crunch Roll 5pcs, Tuna Roll 5pcs, Salmon Roll 5pcs, Spicy Tuna Roll 4pcs, California Roll 4pcs and they were all delicious the miso soup good too.. all were great and I would definitely order again! Service was great, for both dine in and take out. I was attended quickly and my food arrived promptly. The restaurant had plenty of seating both inside and out. This place is GREAT! Me and my husband moved down the street a year ago and this has been our go-to for takeout with their 50% off to-go orders. Best deal ever. We finally went and did AYCE sushi last weekend and it was a great experience. It is super packed in there and this isn't going to be "high end" dining, but the customer service was excellent. Everyone in there is hustling and working their butts off. Food came out super quick. Ordering system for AYCE is on the phone but very easy which we enjoyed. And I actually preferred that they dont do a typical 8-pieces in the AYCE rolls (more like 4-6) because we were able to try more variety. We love the Luv Luv roll & Treasure Island. Mussels and spicy edamame are bomb. Again, high praise for the staff. So kind & respectful & accommodating! 10/10 recommend to check it out some time and even more, do that to-go deal!! Let me preface by saying, the new and revamped menu is great and everything was delicious. We went on Veteran's Day for lunch and they were definitely not staffed well for the rush. Apparently something happened with the online ordering system and it never received our order. We just figured service was really slow. We had been there an hour and only had ever received the carpaccio (which was delicious might I add!) The sushi chefs did forget on a few rolls though, to not put cucumber due to a food allergy. Hopefully it was because of the system glitch, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. For the inconvenience, they comped us a salmon kama for the inconvenience. I will definitely return, hopefully on a less congested day to really let them shine! read more

LOVEEE this place. Sushi is AMAZING. I recommend the in and out spicy roll. I come here with my boyfriend for all you can eat all the time and it's amazing. ~$32 for all you can eat and my favorite part about it is that they serve you half rolls, so you can try more rolls without getting full so quickly. They make ordering so easy. You are provided with a QR code to scan and your order is sent straight to the kitchen. They usually bring your rolls out within 5 minutes or so. The only thing is the tables are kind of close together, so it's slightly hard to move around inside, but overall, I still love this place. Food; amazing. Price; great. Staff; nice. read more

The fish is fresh, the rice-to-fish ratio is non skimpy. You can tell they don't cut corners here. Everything came out fast, even when it was busy, and nothing felt rushed or sloppy. The menu has a great mix of classic rolls, specialty rolls, and nigiri, plus solid appetizers that don't feel like filler. Every round we ordered came out consistent -- no drop-off in quality like you get at most AYCE places. Service was friendly, efficient, and attentive without hovering. They keep the flow going so you're never sitting there waiting to order the next round. If you're looking for true AYCE sushi that actually respects quality, this is the place. I went to Sushi Asahi a couple days ago with my parents and it was amazing! I've been going to this spot for a lonnnng time and I believe that the food and service is at its best ever. This spot is AYCE and I prefer it compared to other AYCE places because you can order nigiri by 1 piece and the rolls come in 4 pieces which means you can try more variety of different rolls. Also to mention the fish and rice is super tasty and fresh. All of the flavor combos are incredible! The service is super quick and attentive. Shout out to Katelin and Lester for taking such good care of us while we had our lunch! Will be back soon! read more

The quality of the food and efficiency of service here is AMAZING! Also, whoever was on the aux/playlist that day, kudos to them. The staff were also very attentive. So I regularly frequent the Corona location (I don't believe this location is associated after some research?) but I came to this location with some friends recently. We got there on a Sunday right at 11:30AM when they opened and it filled up quickly but we were seated fast as a 6 person party. The QR code ordering is a game changer and I wish more locations did it this way as opposed to paper and pencil. I actually love the fact that each cut roll only has 4 pieces so you don't get too full and essentially taste everything. The seared lemon pepper and Cajun salmon nigiri, THE BEST and highly recommend. Every roll we tried was delicious and the carpaccio options were the best bites of sashimi fish I've had (and I've lived in Japan). I will be back with my whole family. I see this location becoming our go-to AYCE place once they've experienced it themselves. read more

From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The restaurant was packed, but only 10 minute wait time. The online Yelp waitlist was very helpful. Server was very friendly and helpful. Before heading back to San Diego, had to stop here for dinner last weekend. We were seated pretty quick on a Sunday. They had us seated underneath the speaker and we had an infant with us. I would have requested to be seated some place else but there was no other open seats available so we had to suck it up lol. Luckily, we brought his noise cancellation headphones so we were able to put those on him. Service was kinda slow in the beginning. We put our first order and waited 10-15 minutes. There were two other couples that came in after us and they were getting their food first so that kinda bugged us but eventually, food started to come. Our waitress was really sweet, I appreciate her for checking in for time to time. Food was good - they had a great selection of sushi rolls. We've been traveling all day and I think we were getting too tired to want to eat more, which I deeply regret. The restaurant itself is pretty small, tables are close together and even though they play great throwback music, it was pretty loud (not sure if its because we were underneath the speaker) so if you plan on bringing babies, just be mindful of that! The bathroom is a different story lol. Let's just say, it definitely needed some TLC lol. read more

The only thing that is true that every other review mentions is yes they add auto gratuity so when you get your check the option is there to still add a tip which if you don't pay attention can lead to you giving a 25%+ tip without realizing it. The service we had was fast, I still don't know who our server was because about 6 different people kept asking us if we needed anything. Our tablet worked fine and we were able to order everything from it without having it malfunctioning or not working as some others have stated. One odd thing to mention is the soda cup is about 2x as big as the water cup. The sushi itself tasted good, however my girlfriend and I try to get our moneys worth so we normally only pick nigiri and the standard apps, and avoid any kind of rolls. Our take is on the carpaccio, seared salmon, tuna, and escolar, and fresh water eel. All the nigiri we had weren't "fishy" or tasted not fresh or whatever some of the other reviews mentioned but again we didn't have any of the items other people have complained about. So if you're looking for an AYCE sushi place and are tryna get your moneys worth I'd say it's a good place to go.

I am obsessed with the "Golden California" rolls, and if you don't know what that is, it is a California roll that is fried in tempura batter. I can't always find a place with that style roll and when we happened upon this place our very first time, I saw that they offered the roll. Well, let's fast forward to present, and our order is usually always the same. Husband and I share a Golden California roll, a ramen we feel like having spicy, some mixed tempura with shrimp and then he will choose a roll that's more on the raw fish side. I actually changed it up our last visit l because I did not realize they had a Spicy Golden California, and that roll was very good. I'd definitely get that one again when we are on a sushi run. My sister and my nephew are also sushi people, and they have never been to this spot. I took some sushi to go, and they actually enjoyed it. They too are used to the other spot we frequent, but this is perfect for just my husband and I as we do t consume too much to warrant a visit to the spot we usually go to. If you're in the area, looking for a sushi spot, I'd recommend it. I know they offer other items, we just haven't decided to try anything other than our usual mix.

I totally forgot the names of the items I got but the salmon rolled crab meat was my favorite along with the Salmon belly. the sushi roll i got was recommended by our waitress it was good although I wished that they had used a little less i'm assuming sesame oil in the sauce because the flavor of peanut was a bit overwhelming and overshadowed the flavor from the Salmon and Tuna :/ . We used to enjoy the food, but previous visits were plagued by incorrect orders because staff repeatedly chose not to write anything down. Today, my husband found a hair fried into the batter of his popcorn lobster roll. It was wrapped around the piece of "lobster," making it clear the hair was there during preparation--not something that fell onto the food afterward. It also raises concerns about basic food safety practices, including whether proper hair restraints were being used by whoever prepared the meal. He quietly brought it to the staff's attention, and they simply took the plate away. No apology. No follow-up. To make matters worse, we were still charged for the contaminated roll. We mentioned it again when paying and, again, received no apology and no offer to remove the charge. Mistakes can happen. What shouldn't happen is dismissing a legitimate food safety concern and charging customers for contaminated food without so much as an apology.

Within hours, I experienced severe gastrointestinal distress, including acid reflux and diarrhea that disrupted my entire night. While I cannot definitively confirm the sushi was the cause, the timing and questionable freshness were extremely concerning. I ended up discarding the remaining sushi and have no intention of ordering from this establishment again. I would strongly encourage others to exercise caution when dining here, particularly when ordering raw seafood.

Well, I was debating whether to give this place a 4 or a 5, but I'm going with the 5 because I don't see many 5-star restaurants on Yelp, and I'd like to keep this place at a 5. :) First off, let me tell you..ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI for $22.95 +tax. I am so down! What's not to like? This is something not so common, but it's around here and there. You pay, you check off what you want on a sheet and they make it fresh, it's NOTHING like a buffet. the food also comes out pretty quickly too..(considering the fact that this little 15-table place has FIVE (5) sushi chefs!!) All the servers were very friendly and helpful. This place is definitely up there in service. The owner also goes around greeting everyone and is very cool. (I can tell he's super cool because a customer busted out a bottle of Crown Royal for him since it was Fathers' Day..and that stuff ain't cheap! You don't buy that for just anyone..) Nonetheless, the food.....aah, the food. I ordered salmon sushi, albacore sushi, yellow tail sushi, Philadelphia roll, and a few special rolls which included the "Super Mexican", Alaskan, and a one other which I forgot. We also ordered like 10 other things..but these are the ones I remember. The salmon was fairly fresh. The albacore was so-so. And the yellow-tail was ok, I understand since it's not really fish season. I must tell you, these people here aren't cheap. They put extra Salmon on top of the Philly roll, and it was sooooo good. It was my first time having an Alaskan roll, and it was delicious. It consisted of cream cheese, onions, and tuna. The flavors mixed very well. My FAVORITE was the Super Mexican roll. I know what you're thinking..what the RANDOM? (That's what I thought too, but my boyfriend's little brother wanted to order it..so ok sure, whatever!) It was tempura shrimp inside topped with avocado, some orangy pink sauce, and sriracha. Ok, I've been here on multiple occasions...birthday, lunch, dinner, etc.....but finally today I get to review for this restaurant. Before I tell you about my experiences, lets just get some things straight here.... Idk why people are saying a whole bunch of nonsense things, like a particular person (like Cat L.) or any other people who've complained about how they have rules, and what not... EVERY ALL YOU CAN EAT RESTAURANTS has rules.....where have you been guys? Mars? or perhaps the ice cream or oranges being out; well sh*t happens. You don't know if every one who came in the restaurant that day had a hanker for oranges or for ice cream..... At least Asahi gives you the option of having three rounds, other places that I have been to thus far, they only give you two rounds, less than one hour to eat, and don't even give you the option of giving you FREE desserts; you have to pay for them. Another thing to point out is that they are nice enough to put on a light show and give your free cake for a birthday party, which by the way, other places don't do, they either charge it on your bill or just not do anything for you...... Bottom line is: I don't get how people have the audacity to complain about their rules, or for not having oranges/ice cream...... : / Anyhow..... as for the food, service, and everything else, I would have to say that, it was the best place that I've been to based on the places that I have to all my life. Though, I'm not saying that this place is the perfect; they do have some minor flaws, but I can disregard them enough that, it doesn't bother me at all. NOTE: This review isn't based on just one of my visits; it's based on all of the numerous occasions that I have came to this restaurant through out last year..... So, if you are contemplating on going to Sushi Asahi, then go. Get yourself to Asahi prawn-to. Don't you ig-nori me..... Nothing? O'well, Anyways, AYCE sushi. What more can you want? This place has gotten extremely popular these past few years because their sushi is always fresh and tastes amazing. The service is fast and the staff is always friendly. Tables and empty dishes are cleared away quickly. Some yelper said that they felt like they were being rushed because the staff kept taking the plates away from them as soon as they were done eating. I think that may be "great service" that he were experiencing. The front of the house staff consist mostly of college student who are kind, attentive, and prompt. Dont expect them to stop and chit chat so much. They look they're always getting their asses handed to them all day. Cut them some slack folks. The back of the house are older with very little english speaking skills, but they make up with their amazing sushi prepping skills and presentations. They're actually really funny if you try to talk to them. People, please don't complain if it is crowded. That just means that this place is doing well. The two hour wait that some of you will have to endure is well worth it. You'll be that much more hungrier for sushi. But, don't come in all snobbish critiquing ever slice. These guys turn and burn hundreds of rolls on their shift. Some rolls may have less ahi or salmon and thats ok. Also, if its your birthday, prepare yourself for the loudest birthday song ever. I recently visited Sushi Asahi with my family for the second time, and it was an overall enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and fairly fresh, with no concerning tastes in the sushi. The restaurant seems to attract a mix of college students and families, creating a lively atmosphere. However, if you're seeking a quiet, intimate dining spot, this might not be the best fit. The music selection was fun and upbeat without being so loud that it disrupted our conversation, which I appreciated. The staff was quick, kind, and respectful, making the dining experience smooth and pleasant. The all-you-can-eat option is a great value, but it's important to note that there's an extra charge for leftovers. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Sassy Lady, Philly Crunch, miso soup, salmon skin salad, edamame, yellowtail, seared albacore, albacore onions sear, and a few specialty rolls like Las Vegas and Sushi Asahi. For drinks, we had four standard fountain beverages. A few things keep me coming back for more. The fact that it is about an hour drive from where I live says a lot. 1. Consistent service: although there might sometimes be a wait to get seated, once you are seated you will be taken care of quickly. No matter how much I seem to order it always comes out within minutes and there is never a wait for the sushi to consistently roll out of the kitchen. (no pun) 2. Quality: I'm not a sushi expert but the fish is always so fresh, the rice to fish proportion is always favorable. 3. Price: what else can I say? For AYCE sushi at this quality and level of consistency it's worth the 21 or so dollars per person. Make sure you show your student ID for a dollar discount! Yogurtland is right next door too, I usually stop in there for some dessert. (free if you're only feeling a small amount) (sample size is usually good enough for me). After stuffing yourself with all the sushi imaginable you probably won't have too much room for dessert anyways. Note : I find this location better than the Riverside location. It's a better environment with multiple large TV's to watch sports and the wait time has been consistently less when compared to the Riverside location(I've always had to wait nearly an hour near dinner time to get a table there). read more

I've been coming to this sushi restaurant for years, and the food has always been amazing. They offer AYCE, which is a huge plus. However, they recently changed their ordering system, and unfortunately, it has completely ruined the dining experience. Now, instead of writing down orders, you have to use your phone to place them. One person at the table is responsible for submitting everyone's choices, which is incredibly inconvenient. When my boyfriend and I visited last week, we tried the new system, and it was frustrating. Having my phone on the table the entire time and struggling to navigate their menu--categorized by Appetizers, Sushi, Cut Rolls, etc., but in no logical order--made finding specific items a nightmare. It was even worse when we returned with a larger group yesterday. Managing multiple orders for several people was a disaster. As the designated order-taker, I felt like the waitress--having to locate everyone's selections, confirm them, and then submit the order. Instead of enjoying my meal, I was stuck handling logistics. To make matters worse, they automatically add a 15% tip, which feels excessive given the minimal service involved. Unless they bring back the paper ordering system, we won't be returning. read more

"GRINGO SUSHI" LOVERS UNITE I came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and I was extra excited after seeing all these yelpers' showing their love for this place. I CANNOT understand why there are so many 5 star reviews for this place. "Best AYCE in the area" should pique your curiosity. WHAT? I should be counting my blessings--and be glad we didn't go anywhere else for sushi in Riverside. I had the all-you-can-eat. Most of the rolls here were drenched in that blasted eel sauce or some kind of mayo sauce. It's okay in moderation but this, like many other 'sushi' places, is insane! The table next to us (a group who drove out from Irvine!) had some nice looking nigiri and sashimi so I gave it a shot--I had some just to make sure I didn't miss out and it really... nailed in the coffin. I got a bunch of poorly cut, unattractive, chewy, pieces of fish. WTF. My lady loves her mussels at Japanese joints, but gave a hearty 'blech' to these. Almost everyone at our table got the all-you-can-eat, and I think most others there liked it ( ?!?!?!!?)--befuddled. Asahi is really a gem in Riverside. I went to UCR for 4 years and this was my go-to place to satisfy my cravings for sushi. On weekdays, you can get AYCE for lunch for only $17.99.. What a steal! The dinner/weekend price is like $22, which isn't bad either, considering the ridiculous amount of sushi you're able to get. If you know the Riverside area, then you should be familiar with the fact that it's pretty ghetto and there aren't many good places to eat at. Asahi actually has really fresh sashimi, comparable to nice places in LA. My must-haves for each visit are the Sashimi Salad, Green Mussels, and the Riverside Roll. They actually give you big chunks of fish in the salad, they don't skimp like a lot of other places do. I love the Riverside Roll because it's wrapped in soy rather than the usual seaweed, which makes it really nice and fresh. The service is really nice here too. The sushi chefs are really friendly and the owner usually buys a cake for your table if you let him know it's your birthday. :) My only complaint- I wish the green tea ice cream was AYCE too! haha read more

What is better than fresh and delicious sushi? All you can eat fresh and delicious sushi. I do not understand why anyone would want to give this place a one star rating. This place is amazing. First, the wait. Although we had to wait for over half an hour outside, it was worth it. With a wait that long, there must be something good going on inside. Once inside, you are greeted by all the immediate staff at the front and even by some of the chefs in the back. No idea what they are yelling at you, but Im sure it is something like, "WELCOME" or "HELLO" or "YOU'RE AWESOME." No matter what it may be, it is welcoming and fun. Then, there are the food and drinks.There is a limited drink menu, but you're not there for the drinks. You are there for the food, so I went with the good o Saporo. On to the food. There is no need to ramble on about the food. Ill just say that it is amazing. That is all. This place is under new management but it's still THE BOMB!!!!! Actually it tasted better than the last few times I was there under old management. I've eaten at this place countless of times for AYCE sushi and have only not been satisfy probably twice. their fishes are fresh most of the time, and they got a variety of fishes that you can try. Their rolls are also a lot better than other AYCE sushi that I've been to. Expect to spend $24 after tax and tips for lunch and $27 for dinner. Come on M-TH and you can also get green tea ice cream at the end of your meal upon request. MUST READ: if you are coming here with a small party of 2, sit by the bar, be friendly to the sushi chef and ask if you can order half rolls. You'll get to try much more for your money and you can order little by little. If you sit at the table, youll get to order a maximum of 3 times and no half rolls. After years of hearing about this place from friends, we decided to give it a try on the way to the mission inn! Arrived around 6pm on a Sunday night and waited about 20 min. Got seated and was told that there was a one hour dining time limit for ayce. Ordered our first round and 40 min later...we still didn't get all of our food. How are you going to limit your diners to an hour when you're this slow at getting food out?! They would bring one dish out every 15 min... Taking into account the slow service, we asked if we can put in our second round order. The waitress said no. After a few horrible dishes, the eel sushi came out. We have never been to a sushi place where the eel sauce was bad. The eel sauce here is horrible and they drown everything in that sauce. Ordered a soft shell crab handroll, sauce. Ordered a salmon skin handroll, sauce. Overall, food was meh. Service was meh. There are definitely better ayce sushi places out there! Would not recommend. read more

I give Asahi 3 stars because over the years it's just been going downhill. This used to be the it place for such a long time... They still have 2 hour wait times and they have upgraded things in their restaurant but I don't know why this place is so hyped up still. If it's because of price, I guess I can understand.. but even for its cheap price I don't think this spot is worth it anymore. Back when this place had the very handsome Korean male manager is when this place was the best. Had I made a Yelp account then and given a review, it would've been 5 stars. Unfortunately, as a Sushi lover, I'm sad to say I'm disappointed. As for service, their servers dont have any personality. I think they teach them to not talk to customers when customer service is how you get tip...??? We found this place on Yelp - Highly rated. Don't buy it! When I walked up to the counter the man asked how many - I said "6" he rolled his eyes and pointed to a pad for me to put my name down. My kids wanted to have dinner with me on Saturday for Mother's day. Two of them were coming in from the OC. When a table for six opened up - we were told we could not be seated unless all parties were present. There was an accident on the 91 delaying my son. So we sat out side and watched several other parties that arrived much later get seated. We asked again if they would reconsider as my grandson of 2 was getting cranky waiting. Essentially, they couldn't care less. Yelp giveth...I hope Yelp taketh away! The place is small, loud, crowed, and the owner/manager and staff are rude. We left and found O Wasabi's on McKinley - Excellent Food - Lots of room and we were treated properly! You don't have to be abused to enjoy good sushi! read more

Since I have left home for a long business trip, I have finally came back home and immediately went for more delicious sushi: that I have been longing for, for the past few months. As always, everything here was excellent! There are two things that have surprised me... First, that many people (alike me) have found this place and hopefully titled it their "soulmate" :) Second: the most surprising thing was that many people have been comparing this place with many other restaurants, for their food, service and etc. but in my opinion, i would say that this place is infinite times better than most places, by food and the service. Have you ever wanted a lot of sushi but couldn't because it was too expensive? Well this is the place to go to. They offer an all-you-can-eat special for $17.95, during lunch. It includes all kinds of sushi, rolls, hand rolls, and special cut rolls. The only down side to the all-you-can-eat special is sharing. They are pretty strict about not sharing, if your friend or whoever you've decided to take with you, wants to try some of your rolls. But you can always be a ninja about it. ;) The prices are only worth it if you come for the all-you-can-eat and order at least 3-4 rolls. Otherwise, the $8-10 per roll might not be worth it. They do charge if you want to take any of the leftover sushi home but trust me, you might be in a food coma before that thought comes up. The place is pretty small so they can't exactly accommodate a group larger than 15 but it's a good place to go with a group of close friends. read more

We had such a wonderful experience tonight! The sushi was absolutely amazing everything tasted incredibly fresh and the presentation was beautiful. Every roll we tried was delicious, and you could really tell that care goes into every dish. What truly made our evening special was our server, Ashley Hill. She was kind, patient, and so attentive to our entire family. We had our kids with us, and she went out of her way to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy. Ashley was incredibly helpful with recommendations, checked on us at the perfect times, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Her positive attitude and warm personality really stood out. Great sushi and great service! The whole staff was friendly and made the experience even better, but Ashley truly went above and beyond for our family. Absolutely love this place. The price you pay for All-You-Can-Eat sushi at is well worth every penny of the $21.95 you spend at dinner time. I would recommend this place to others. Wait is always the downside to this place. If your going for dinner time, expect to wait around 40 minutes to an hour before you get a table, so plan accordingly. Service is great. They are always around and bring you anything you order promptly. Definitely worth 5 stars. The food is just the best. and the fish looks freash.In fact it is so great that when I come here we usually order too much and have to end up stuffing ourselves and feeling pretty bloated afterward, but that is our fault. Sushi Asahi is hands down one of the best all-you-can-eat sushi spots I've been to. The food came out fresh every round, portions were perfect for trying a lot of different rolls, and everything tasted high quality. You can tell they actually care about what they're serving instead of just pushing out quantity. The service was just as impressive. The staff was friendly, quick, and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Orders came out fast, plates were cleared quickly, and they kept the whole experience smooth from start to finish. The ambiance is great too -- clean, comfortable, and relaxed. 1. Come hungry. And by hungry I mean, "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse" because that's the equivalent of how much you will eat. 2. Make it a party! Bring 2+ people with you if you want to enjoy all the different specialty rolls they have to offer. If it's you and a date, ehhh, I hope you both eat a lot then. 3. Slooow down. Yes, I know you're excited because "omg look at all the different kinds of sushi they have!" but you have three rounds. Don't pile up everything at once. 4. Specialty rolls first, sashimi second. The specialty rolls fill you up quick because of all the rice, added condiments, and etc. If you have room, go for the sashimi. It was one of the best sushi places i've ever eaten in . i was visiting a friend in riverside when we decided to go for some sushi and she decided we should go try this place out since everybody has been saying how good it was . . . we went there , we were on the waiting list which was almost 40 mins ( and that's why i took one star off my rating ) , as it was very busy ( indicating how good the place is ) but at the same time we got very frustrated that we wanted to leave . but finally it was our turn , and trust me its worth the waiting , the food tasted amazing we had the AYCE , their portions are huge that we didn't make it to the 3rd round and the service is amazing they're very fast ... good job ! and i'll definitely make another visit to my friend and go SUSHI ! read more

The rise in fuel and grocery prices seems to be clearly having an effect on people cutting back on eating out. This time I began with a Spicy Tuna Roll, which was very well made and quickly prepared. Then I had a bowl of Miso Soup and a bowl of Clear Soup with Onion Straws, followed by two rather basic salads with Thousand Island-like dressing. The soups were hot and tasty, although they they were likely loaded with sodium. From there we moved on to Fried Rice with egg, corn, White Onion, mushrooms, carrots, and peas for me, and Steamed White Rice for Diane. I made my Fried Rice worse by unnecessarily adding soy sauce to it. The dish already contained enough. For entrees Diane ordered Grilled Seabass, and was pleased with its taste, but later realized that she likes more traditional teppan grill choices better, like the Filet and Shrimp Combination that I selected. Everyone at my table received two shrimps anyway, but I was given a total of eight, since six were included as part of my chosen entree. The Filet reached me medium rare as ordered, but continued to cook on my plate. Grilled noodles and vegetables added immensely to my enjoyment of the meal. And hot Green Tea washed everything down well for me. Service was very good, and our grill master demonstrated superior knife skills. But one soap dispenser in the men's restroom was already out of soap at 6:30 p.m.

Maybe their policy should be not losing a customer over a $7.50 roll. LOL This place is so wanna be LA and not in a good way. Save yourself the high prices they charge and poor service and go to R91. I've never had a bad experience there, ever, after years.

absolutely not. my partner and i had a reservation at this spot, reception was rude and simply…read morepointed at our table to direct us there rather than walking us over. we ordered 2 drinks and waited 20 minutes for them to be served. when our order was finally taken we ordered a ny steak roll and la niña roll. 30 minutes later the steak roll comes out, with pieces of unchewable uncooked fat attached. about 20 minutes after that, the woman waiting our table, who appeared to be a manager or owner, let us know the fish for our other roll was out of stock, so we asked to cancel our order and pay. she stated the roll was already made and would be comped, we could just choose a substitute fish. we said we didnt want it but she wouldnt take no for an answer, so rather than arguing we opted for spicy tuna. despite her claim that our roll was already prepared, we proceeded to wait another 25 minutes for our second roll to come out. when we received it, it triggered both of our gag reflexes and we couldnt even finish it. disgusting. the cherry on top was being given dirty napkins that had food already on them. when i asked for new napkins, the woman serving us walked behind the counter, came back out eating with her fingers in/touching her mouth and handed us new napkins with the same hand. no hand washing or hand sanitizer in sight. horrible service, nasty ass food, and 2 hours later we were still hungry. we both agreed it was the worst dining experience we had ever had. $60 for some absolute bs.
