Sushi Ai attempts to hide their lack of quality sushi with a large presentation. It might come out on a boat. And it will be a boat of bad sushi. The service is also really bad. They follow the bad service up by adding gratuity to orders no matter the size of the group. Keep an eye out for it if you happen to venture in. read more

the sushi is extremely low quality.... I have had better sushi from schnucks. it is not appetizing in appearance or taste here. the sushi ai on zumbehl is phenomenal and we went into this location with the wrong expectations I think... don't waste your time or money here. read more

For the money this place is well worth it. I've been to various Sushi AI restaurants in the area, and on the most part, this one lives up to the same standards as the others. However, I've gone twice on two different Sunday afternoons and both times, the rolls tend to be looser than the evening crew's rolls, and this last time, nearly half of my nigiri had overly warm rice, as if they had just finished cooking it. There was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time and there was only one carry-out customer the entire time, so I can't imagine why they had to resort to using overly warm rice. Other than that, the overall service is good and attentive. The seaweed salad was great, and like I mentioned above, other than the looseness of my roll, it was good too. I just know to not visit on a Sunday afternoon. read more

Food is great, time to get the food isn't. Servers and seating person should smile more, I know the work is hard. Door Dash is making this place difficult to eat in person, better just to order it through them. read more

Well, we've been here before. Sushi was ok, definitely had better (Fried roll was mushy, not crispy), but we wanted to try it again. Wow, what a mistake! Should have known better when we walked in and were greeted by an obviously frustrated employee that was upset he would have to serve yet another group of customers. Will not be going back. read more

If you go to this place it's definitely worth you getting the buffet and if you do the buffet and your not allergic to shrimp you have to get the shrimp tampru if that's spelled right but it's honest quality all around it's really good and worth getting it read more

Love this place! The miso soup & spicy salmon are highly recommended. All you can eat sushi for $12.99 lunch special. Yum!

Smaller restaurant than St. Charles, but still good. I love the avocado roll :) FYI: on Sunday's it is dinner prices for all you can eat. Regardless, I love eating here! Prices aren't too terrible and I have yet to have a bad experience. read more

Not bad but not the best either. Asked for five sides of spicy mayo with my to go order and got none. Veggie tempura was great,

My ok-to-good experience the first trip was completely marred by the second. See photos posted. I can't believe they weren't embarrassed to serve it. One of my rolls came with a mound of sticky, cold, mashed up leftover tuna scrapings on each piece (the first time I was there, it was actually a slice of tuna, or I never would have returned the second time.) Salmon in my other roll was tough and smelled very fishy - a sign of fish past its prime. Woke up today feeling TERRIBLE, and I only ate a couple of pieces last night. Never. Going. Back. Please - PLEASE - don't think "all-you-can-eat" sushi places are a terrific deal. There is a reason sushi restaurants like this are rare. Good, quality fish can be expensive. You get what you pay for. I paid for scrap sushi and food poisoning, apparently. Do yourself and your health a favor and AVOID this place. read more

Sushi Ai - No self-respecting sushi restaurant should EVER try to pass off this pink slime as tuna. The salmon = poor quality. Never again. - Sushi Bars Near Me - O'Fallon, Missouri

I've had sushi from all over the world from Japan to other Pacific islands and major metro areas in the US and this place's fish quality is fine. It is a lot better than Kitaro where the fish was dry - seriously I've had grocery store sushi that was better than Kitaro. The $20 all you can eat deal at Sushi Ai can't be beat. As a big eater who knows my limits, I would recommend it. If you do over order, you have to pay for what you don't eat so be warned. I ordered 20 nigiri pieces, 4 rolls, and an appetizer which would have cost me probably around $80 at other sushi restaurants so the $20 dinner really saves me money. The service was kind of slow but the place was busy with other patrons and take out orders. read more

Manager didn't see a tip on my credit card receipts and as I was leaving stopped me and my daughter In the middle of the restaurant and said to never come back again until I learn how to tip. Problem is he forgot to check the table where I left a tip in cash.So I walked back to the table grab my tip and left. read more

To anyone who has negative comments, they obviously don't order right. I consider myself a sushi connoisseur and the sushi at this establishment hits the mark. It's good quality, fresh and delicious. Have I had better? Sure, but when I'm looking for lunch or a weeknight sushi date, this is our go-to. The service has always been wonderful, the location clean and overall we've had great experiences. The only downfall I feel the need to highlight is their to-go ordering. Our order is never wrong, but it's often jumbled up between the boxes which can be a bit irritating if you've not ordered certain rolls before. read more

I wouldn't say I know a lot about sushi but I do like sushi and eat it semi frequently. My friend and I went here because it was close to where we were getting our nails done. We shared 4 rolls, the Alaska roll, the honey roll, California roll, and an eel roll, they were all good and fresh my fave was the eel roll and the honey roll. These were all on a special they were doing 2 rolls for 7.99. The special seemed to contain all their 6 piece rolls from their main menu we also ordered crab Rangoon and hot tea and both of us spent about 11$ before the tip. I found the serivce to be fast and friendly and the restaurant was pretty full and with two large parties when we got there, but I always had a full cup of water and I like that. read more

I've gone to the O'Fallon location twice. Been very pleased both times. First time was delivered real quick and order was exactly how I requested it, the second time I carried out and was treated with care and courtesy. I was given my green hot tea as I waited which was nice. I'll be going here at least once a week. read more

I look forward to trying their locations closer to home. Met some friends here on a Saturday night on our way back to the city. The service was good, the food was great but we were really distracted by the gnats. We attributed it to being near the exit but still there should be something done about them. The flavors and value of the all you can eat sushi made me still give this place three stars even with the gnat issue so that should tell you something. read more

For the price of all you can eat, it's good. The rice is never cold enough. That is my only real complaint. I like my rolls and sushi to be cold, not room temperature. But it's still good and it is fresh. read more

my family and I visited this location tonight in O'Fallon...let's just start off they didn't acknowledge us at first and we stood there for a few mins and when he did acknowledge he was very rude like we were inconvenienced him. he was so disorganized and then the waitress who was supposed to seat us walked off came back by 5 minutes later and the food is OK I've had better sushi at other locations. My rolls were not rolled very tight and fell apart read more

I have been to this restaurant on multiple occasions and have had a positive experience, but they made some changes last time I went that left a poor taste in my mouth (figuratively...the food is still good). We went on a Sunday and showed up a few minutes before opening, but were surprised to see the restaurant still totally closed 5 minutes before we were planning on sitting down. We went up to the door and noticed that their Sunday hours on the door are wrong, resulting in confusion on what time they actually opened. At exactly opening time (according to the internet, not the door.), the staff shows up carrying bags from the outlet mall and proceeds to take their time opening up the restaurant. We left and came back later. The food is always really good--we have never had a bad roll or dish. My boyfriend always orders the all-you-can-eat lunch special. To his dismay, they have removed the lunch special from the menu with a Sharpie marker and now only offer the full price all-you-can-eat dinner. Not wanting to spend $20 on lunch, he just ordered a couple rolls and was seriously bummed out (he's been going there for years). I proceed to order the Teriyaki Chicken Lunch Special, and the waitress informs me that they do not offer their lunch specials on Sunday, although this is not stated ANYWHERE on the menu. Since we only came for the lunch prices, I politely asked her to check with a manager and see if I could get the pricing stated on the menu. After some back and forth, she finally talked with one of the chefs and gave me the lunch pricing. I heard another table ask for the lunch special as well. The waitress gave them the same response, and they didn't push it. I did, however, overhear their frustration. Even though my boyfriend has gone there for years, we will probably not go back. The sushi is good, but not worth the unprofessional atmosphere and devolving menu. read more

I just ate here for lunch with my co-workers. It was an awful experience, I still have the sour sushi rice taste in my mouth. Blech! We ordered the "all you can eat" lunch special. (Where you have to eat everything that you order, or they charge you extra for the uneaten food.) I was really hungry, so I ordered four rolls. I could deal with the fact that they were busy and it took over 45 minutes to get our rolls to the table. Not cool, but whatever. The problem was that the rice was disgusting. Something very wrong with the vinegar and WAY too much of it. The rice was mushy too. I choose to not make waves and just eat it, but I felt like a kid again, trying to think of ways that I could make it look like I ate more than I did (in fear that they'd give me trouble if I didn't finish.) I will not be eating here again, ever. I should have insisted that we went to Crazy Sushi instead (located a few miles east in St. Peters). I've eaten there countless times over the years and never had anything short of an amazing experience. read more

The gyoza was fine but the rolls themselves were flavorless and left a lot to be desired.

Sushi ai is a small sushi restaurant located in a grocery store strip but don't let it's modest appearance deter you. Sushi ai has some of the best sushi Ive ever had. Quality wise it is on par with drunken fish. While the restaurant is decorated with typical Asian decor it's nothing fancy. Sushi ai almost always has some kind of all you can eat menu option at a very reasonable price! It's a great place for poor college students like me as well as first time sushi eaters because its affordable enough to order multiple rolls . In addition to sushi they also serve typic hibachi fare which I have not had. Also don't waste your time or money on the diner salad- it's small and nothing special- save for the sushi! Now for the bad, sushi ai has a lot to offer, but there is one complaint I have. Many of the servers face a language barrier. This has caused a bit of confusion and wrong orders in the past so be sure to speak clearly when ordering. Also I was given the wrong check once but when I realized the mistake everything was fixed. The service leaves a lot to be desired of but if you're looking for affordable and delicious sushi then head on over to sushi ai! read more

I have been here about 7 times now. After my last experience I'm not sure I will be back. The dumplings were ice cold and my suchi took so long to come out my wife was done with her dinner already. Does the air conditioning not work in this place?! It's 90+ degrees outside and it was so hot in the restaurant. We walked out.

I've only been here for carry-out and I absolutely love them here! Their prices are great and I will continue to go back whenever I have my sushi craving. read more

By far the best sushi I've had for the price - only rarely am I not pleased by the sushi, And the only things I would complain about is the eel being cold, or the rice on the nigiri not being the right size or shape, but the fish is high quality, and if you get to know all of the staff, they are all very nice. I come in here 1-2 times per week, and they always know what sauce I want on my rolls, that I use low as sodium soy sauce, and that I will always get a soup and salad. Great restaurant. read more

Was recommended this place by a coworker. I have been twice and it was amazing both times. The lunch special is an amazing deal by itself. I had the lunch buffet for sushi. Each one is made fresh, so its quality stuff. I also went for the dinner and was able to order five rolls for just $30. They were a wide range and were pretty good. The real winner is the fact that they actually have combination party trays with both sashimi and sushi. Something I found every other place lacking. They also have a very wide range of non sushi items to order, so even someone who isn't all that interested in sushi would have no problem finding something to order. Best place I have managed to find in the area. Really worth the money and would recommend it to others to give it a try. read more

Tried this place for the first time. Was not impressed. Always beware when a sushi place resorts to an "All You Can Eat". That means they make their profit from volume not by quality. I found the quality of fish to be sub par, the service rude and un-knowledgable, and who puts dried mushrooms in a tempura batter and assume that the deep frying is supposed to plump it up? That's how the waitress explained the really bad tempura. The salmon rolls were way too salty and you couldn't figure out what was in the Fashion roll because it was prepared as a mess. Not going back. Sakura Hibachi and Sushi in Wentzville has much fresher fish and higher quality cuts. They don't have an "All a You Can Eat" offer but you can still order plenty of high quality sushi for $20. read more

went with someone who doesn't know much about sushi and wanted to try it. orders all you can eat for myself, one person wants one piece off my plate and isnt allowed. we were not informed about this rule until after we had recieved our orders. and then after all of the workers were staring at our table and making it a very uncomfortable and unpleasant expirence. will not come back to this location. read more

STAY AWAY! The food is marginally acceptable at best, and is directly affected by the number of customers in the place at a given time. However, this location has THE WORST SERVICE we have ever experienced... in ANY restaurant. The two servers were Asian girls and were the rudest and most dismissive individuals imaginable! There is a man (Caucasian with a pony tail) who comes out from the back of the house occasionally to fool around with the cash register, then promptly returns to whence he came?? He avoids eye contact at all cost, so I assume he is a/ the manager; his attitude successfully taught to the servers! We will NEVER return! Kitaro is very close and now becomes our defacto Japanese restaurant! read more
