    Teriyaki Chicken Bento
    Patricia T.

I had to ask if they were new because the place was so clean and fresh. Turns out they've been there for 2 years. The atmosphere is Sushi Cafe, so I had to order a Bento. The teriyaki chicken is super flavorful with a nice sweet and salty balance. While everything was fresh, the rest of the food was less...wow. Not bland, not outstanding. The fried rice had good moisture content and wasn't dry. The spring rolls were pretty good and fried well, but there was no specific sauce for them. I would think a nice sweet and sour would pair well. 4 pieces of a California roll were good and fresh. The strangest thing was the Wasabi wasn't very spicy. Mild flavor, and it was buried under the ginger. The edamame could have been a tad fresher, but it was steamed well. No visible salt was added, but the flavor was there. The other thing I think had good flavor was the yum yum sauce. It's not my favorite sauce as a rule, but this one was tangier than most. I liked it. The staff was very friendly, patient, and available. I'll bring the husband again.

Shrimp noodles, Takoyaki, hall of fame roll, Thai iced tea.

The shrimp was amazing! It was perfectly cooked and sauced, but the chicken was a mess.. the amount of sauce they put on it was unbearable and there wasn't enough meat to counter act it. I tried to push passed it and force it down but the rice and vegetables weren't cooked at all- it felt more like chewing gum than eating rice. I also had the miso soup and while it was delicious, the tofu inside tasted more like rubber than the soup itself and left a metallic taste in my mouth.. And while the sauce on shrimp was great, the sauce on the chicken looked more like goop and tasted like barbecue sauce more than actual teriyaki sauce. I know that everyone has different tastes, but I have been to a number of different hibachi/sushi restaurants and I have never walked out of one without eating my meal. Lastly, the atmosphere gave me and my friend a weird vibe before we even sat down. It may have been our mistake to not acknowledge the red flags, but looking at other reviews, I feel we made a good decision by not speaking with the staff about our issues. While we didn't have much interaction with staff outside of the woman at the front counter, the interactions we did have were rude, passive aggressive, and it genuinely seemed like she hated working there. I also work in customer service so I understand the toll it can take, but we were the only customers in the store and I would have gotten fired if I treated a customer the way we were treated. And sorry ladies, but one of the weird things we noticed was that there was no women's bathroom. There was a men's and a gender neutral bathroom.. it may be a weird thing to notice, but just a heads up... This was the first meal of the day that we had eaten, and I'm not sure about my friend but I have a stomach ache that will not going away anytime soon..

Ordering takeout online was quick and easy, and when I arrived, I was promptly greeted by the young people at the front counter who let me know my order would be ready in about 10 minutes. There is seating inside for those waiting on to go orders, so I took a seat while the meal was prepared, and took in the cozy space. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later my food comes out, ready to go. The young lady at the front counter explained they had given me a few crab rangoon on the house since it took a little longer to prepare than the online system estimated :.) The excellent service and kindness was much appreciated. The food was all delicious - across a variety of rolls including California, spider, rainbow, and spicy tuna, everything was fresh and flavorful. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

The menu is diverse with a variety of rolls with several that seem similar to rolls from other locations. I went with the rock and roll and the queen roll. Starting with the positives is the attentiveness of service. Staff is friendly and inviting and read my mind with the recommendation of the rock and roll as I was considering that one! The rolls came out and they are packed with fresh ingredients and presented well. The exterior of the rock and roll was fried just enough to give nice crunchy texture with modest filling so you arent hunting around the roll figuring out where something is. The rolls were all cut evenly. The rock and roll was delicious, however sliced a little bigger than what I like but it comes with a lot so I get why its larger. The negatives - I thought the Queen roll was OK. I felt the white fish could've been crispier as it was rather soft. Everything felt more one note as the white fish had no real discernible flavor, paired with shrimp and avocado and it was mostly bland. Perhaps add another element and texture or make the white fish bigger and stand out more. Lastly, the soft drink had an unpleasant after taste. I ordered Dr Pepper and it tasted either like diet or the carbonation was going out on it. I'd be willing to return and try more of what you have to offer!
