My partner and I stopped by here since I've been to other Sushi Ai locations around the St. Louis area and loved it. It wasn't too crowded for a Tuesday at noon. We both had the all you can eat $14.99 (pretax) deal they have for lunchtime. I personally believe this is the best "bang for your buck" (if you're able to sit and eat). The service was quick and the food was great! I always love the crab Rangoon and Shumai dumplings. As far as the rolls go, I enjoy the Yamasa roll and the Spicy crab! The sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. They also kept our drinks full as we kept eating! It was my partner's first time trying the place and they would go back for sure. Now, I was a little confused about the additional charges for leftover pieces. I've had different experiences for how they charge you at every location. I crave this stuff when I'm under the weather. Miso is pretty much just delicious medicine and the ginger and wasabi will help with the upper resp nonsense. I love the tempura, carefully packed to go. The salad is light and the dressing is so good I accidentally ate half of that paper doily. The rice to sushi ratio is a lot more manageable and normal now, the rolls are terrific and the fried rice is the best I've ever had in my life. My sister and I had dinner here a couple weeks ago. I got there at 5:30 and was seated immediately. It started filling up quickly after that. Service was good, nothing special. The sushi was enjoyable, but I prefer the St. Charles location as it seems to have more flavor in their rolls. It had the smallest sliver of fish that any human or machine could possibly cut. And about 1/8 cup of rice underneath it. I couldn't fit the entire ball of rice in my mouth, so I cut the rice in half. After doing that to 7 pieces, there was a 1/2 cup of rice remaining on my plate. I was still hungry and hesitant to order more. Waiter came over and explained that I had to eat all the rice, and there was a slight argument over it. If you're looking for decent sushi that is a good price this place is it. I come and get the all you can eat which is perfect. You can get as much sushi and rolls as you like as well as some appetizers. Just be careful because they will charge you for left over sushi when you're done. read more

I had heard good things about the St. Charles location so wanted to try it and we ended up at this one. I wish we hadn't. There was not much AC running on a 98F day, so it was warm and muggy inside. The salad was watery and soggy, with a puddle at the bottom of the bowl, but uneaten food with AYCE is an extra charge so I finished it. We got the dinner AYCE on a Sunday, ordering 7 rolls and two pieces of nigiri. They forgot the sweet potato roll initially; when I finally brought it up with the server she said the owner would "come talk to [us]." He ended up eventually just bringing it out a while later. Some of the sushi was decent, like the honey roll and the jalapeño roll. But the rest were a bit off to us, especially those with salmon. The tamago nigiri was insanely overcooked, like a hard crusty omelette slice rather than a sweet, tender piece of egg roll. They forgot the scallions in the Philadelphia roll so it was all cream cheese and lukewarm salmon. There was a female server who offered several times to refill our drinks, which was nice, though the sodas were warm, Overall, it wasn't a great experience and we probably won't return any time soon. I have been to a few sushi bars in NYC that offer the same price for unlimited and the selection is maybe double to triple that of Sushi AI. Then again, we arent in NYC, and so I digress. It's a nice little spot in a strip mall at the corner of Hwy K & N in O'Fallon, MO. Normally I round up when I'm rating a business to give them the benefit of the doubt but this time I rounded down. Why you ask? There were three tables of people waiting and three empty tables that needed to be bused. And although they only have only about ten tables we still waited almost fifteen minutes to be seated. Now if the staff was super busy serving people that would be one thing but two servers were chatting that whole time and the guy with long hair was guarding the cash register like he was afraid someone was going to swipe it.
