I got a drink that came with a souvenir cup once I finished my drink the waiter asked me if I wanted a mother drink I said no and he took my cup and threw it in the trash behind me which I thought was odd since it's a souvenir. For my salad and my boyfriend's lobster roll along with one drink the bill was over $100. Definitely just paying for the view when you go here. read more

My husband and I went down to check out the Surfside because my high school class reunion will be held there next summer. We like it - it was a cool rainy day so virtually empty but the bartender, Abby, is a neighbor so we enjoyed spending some time chatting with her, the view could not be better. First off this place has a beautiful setting in the beach once you get past the dirty tables and don't use the bathroom. It's the most appalling filth I have ever seen in any restaurant . The drinks we had were specialties and they were all juice . Then we ordered the spicy cauliflower appetizer and the artichoke dip and we should of known it was going to be bad when we asked our waitress if it was a good choice and she kinda shrugged her shoulders and said "yea they are ok". We got the cauliflower which literally was in a paper bowl of chili sauce and oil. And the chips that were with the artichoke dip were so hard I thought I would break a tooth on them. Love love love the outdoor seating area here. It's right on the water and is nice a spacious. We only went for drinks so I can't judge the food, but the drinks were pretty good. I got the fishbowl drink, it was tasty and came in a little plastic fishbowl that I could take home. My friend got a drink that was suppose to come with an eye patch and a hurricane cup he could take home and was told after he was given his drink in a regular plastic cup (and only because he asked!) that they were out of the cups but if he wanted an eye patch they had some in the back. We stayed for a couple hours and within that time they also ran out of fishbowls (this was only about 2pm in the afternoon). I would go back simply just because of how beautiful the view is outside, just don't expect the fun extras that are suppose to come with your drinks on the menu. read more

So onto my next review of the restaurant owned by the sea glass. 5 stars for the drinks. Decent prices for the size. There was only 1 item out of the 4 that was ordered that was great, just a bit overpriced but it was good. The chicken sandwich ($16.00) the clam chowder was just ok, not horrible but nothing special. It came out warm, not hot and was made with powdered milk not cream. Not a great taste. The fish tacos that we usually get next door at the sea glass were quite larger. These were 3 tiny and I mean tiny pieces of haddock in the shells. Tasty but tiny. 6 -10 frozen onion rings (not fresh cut) edible though. So I saved the "worst" for last. The $15 chicken fingers!! Ok for $15 I would think you would get more than 5 tiny and again I say tiny fingers in a basket. I should of taken a picture of not only that but the looks on everyone's face when they arrived. We of course says something to the waitress , who was very nice by the way. Instead of management offering us more of them, they were taken away and of course taken off the bill. She came back and apologized but we told her it was not her fault. She does not run the kitchen. I did however asked her if we could just have gotten more as this was part of someone's meal. Her response was a bit strange. " At this point I don't think that's an option because the kitchen feels bad. so we just let it go. Just a side not.. the chicken sandwich could of fed all of us ! This was my first time here. I am disappointed. Every time I went to get a drink at the bar I felt ignored. I thought that it would be fun to sit on the outdoor deck right off the beach, but for the most part all I saw was people that had been served too much spilling drinks and almost running into other patrons. But the night we were there the only music was 2 lame steel drum players playing the most horrible version of fire on the Mt. I'd ever heard. Painful. Our server was nice and kept updating us on the status of our order. The kitchen was the problem. The food took an hour to get-2 lobster rolls with fries. After 1/2 hr she said our rolls were ready but not fries. The restaurant was not busy at all so this was weird. After another 15 min I said just bring the rolls which obviously had been sitting out. The lobster was not fresh at all- fishy tasting and waaay too salty. It was truly horrible. Fries came 15 minutes later and they were nothing special. I was super excited to be able to sit on the water with a beautiful view, which is the ONLY reason I would give this place even 1 star. I not only was denied a drink because I had an out of state ID, which honestly was annoying but wasn't the main problem. We gave no problem after she informed me she couldn't serve me but it seemed like she began to avoid us. 10 min went by and we FINALLY got our drinks, which were wrong. She dropped the drinks off and ran off. 20 mins later we had hoped she would come and take our order and she never did. We actually decided to leave because we had waited so long. Great spot! You could not ask for better views. The drinks are current and hip with some classic favorites thrown in. Great nachos and pretzel bites. Sadie or waitress was unbelievable. On a night that started out with some clouds rolling in ended with a rain storm. Sadie kept the positive attitude despite getting rained on. Always running back to check on us not hiding under the shelter. We were a fun group blowing off some steam and she was doing her part to keep all happy. Lorenzo the manager impressed us by coming over and introducing himself to us and asking how everything was. At that point watching the manager get rained on going around to tables thanking people and checking in I was very surprised. The best view and outside deck on the North Shore!!! You are directly over the beach and ocean. You can't beat that. There's nothing like that on the North Shore or seacoast. The drinks are fun the service is friendly and the music is great! Reggae on Sunday nights!! You can grab a seat by the water or dance under the bandstand. There are snacks and a few lighter menu items or go to the Seaglass for finer dining first. Salisbury Beach has plenty of parking meters and a big parking lot. I've been here many times for a few drinks. More often than not it is nearly impossible to get served in a timely manner. You have to flag down the bartenders, which I HATE doing. I feel rude and pushy when I must resort to that. I decided to try some food out on the deck one day this summer. That was a mistake. I ordered the pulled pork nachos. Who knew that nachos could be screwed up! A five year old could make better nachos in the microwave for me. The pork was drier than your grandmother's... Sand. Lol! And the cheese wasn't even melted. There were three of us in my party. We were all dissatisfied. I feel bad for the waitress that had to serve those embarrassing meals all day. I loathe this place, yet I keep giving it another shot. Very disappointed with this place. Service was horrible,food horrible, and not what they appear to be. We reserved 2 VIP cabanas while on vacation this past week. We were a party of 12 people, 6 per cabana. There was one waitress for 3 cabanas and she was also waiting on at least 6 other tables. Service was horrible. The waitress was so nice yet extremely busy, not her fault. Don't advertise VIP cabanas and not even give us The treatment we deserved for the money we spent. There were no so called "swag bags" as advertised, no gifts, no koozies and Hawaiian leis as advertised. For the money we spent we received absolutely nothing. I went on Sunday for Reggae night. Very nice setting. I went to the inside bar and a red headed male bar tender looked at my girl and I and then turned towards a couple of other girls that got to the bar after us and went to them first. I asked what the deal was and he told me not to worry they work here. I told him I was at the bar first and he continued to ignore that. He decided he wanted to serve the off duty employees ahead of paying customers. I own two bars in Boston and I would fire an employee if they ever put an off duty employee over a paying customer. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Not only is this the place to be in the summer with amazing water views, great drinks (Tailspin!) and food (chicken BLT yum!!) but the i honestly cannot say enough about the staff! Our waitress Katie was AMAZING! From the second we walked in she was trying to find the right seat for us (water view in the sun!) and the right drink and what we would like to eat! We went there numerous times during our 4 day stay and she ALWAYS came over and made us feel so welcome and special! I also have to mention the manager Lori, who took the time to personally come to our table over and over to make sure we were enjoying ourselves!
