This dive bar serves fairly decent fried seafood near Salisbury Beach. My friends and I were very hungry after spending some time on the beach and made our way to Dolphin Bar after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. Upon arrival, there was no one around, employee wise, so we walked into the restaurant and were uncertain if we had to wait for a host/hostess or just seat ourselves. Eventually, once we sat ourselves, a waitress approached us who, for some, may be entertaining as she jokes around and seems to have a good time, but I honestly just kind of found her a bit rude. We all got different fried seafood plates, and they had a decent amount of fries and seafood but I wasn't IMPRESSED by it. The overall experience was only meh to me and I probably wouldn't come back. read more

Just dropped in to have a relaxing drink and appetizer. Made the right choice. Warmly greeted by the owners and the atmosphere was fun and relaxing. Although we only ordered the nachos, they were phenomenal; a must have if you drop in. Folks sitting next to us had an Italian dinner and a Prime Rib that looked amazing. Stopped in here a few times. The interior itself is old and needs updating. The food is pretty decent, although served on plastics plates. Bartenfer was friendly. Seems to be lots of regulars,m which is nice for a neighborhood bar. They don't take credit cards-outdated. Biggest negative is owner is always seen drinking with the customers and on most recent visit was sitting within earshot and dropping F bomb after F bomb and talking about a patron sitting at other end of the bar. This may be fine for friends and regulars, but won't drive in new business and for this reason won't be back. Very uncomfortable. read more

OMG...much to my amazement, the food was awesome. Wasn't expecting much more than a step above a TV diner from the small little bar at the beach. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Onion rings and fries were incredible, totally homemade, not frozen fried crap. Prices were more than reasonable. Service was fantastic! We were disappointed that YELP chose not to recommend our last review for the Dolphin. We stopped in for drinks and dinner again last night and the very amazing chef whipped up a Tappas plate that was not on the menu. Not only was it absolutely delicious, we were drooling over the platters he served to other patrons. Awesome prices for the quality and generous portions. We never had to ask for a refill, the waitstaff was on point. This is not the Ritz Carlton. It is a beach bar with beautiful ocean views and the crowd is an ecclectic mix just as most local pubs are. For us, we love the food and chatting with all. Give it a try and perhaps enjoy one of the best burgers and a side of hand cut fries! read more

Visited the Dolphin on Sunday, June 11, late afternoon. There were 3 of us and we were able to get a table outside. Ordered drinks and a Captain's Platter to share. The food was undercooked - the haddock, clams, and scallops. Also there were a few chunks of just batter deep fried. The server seemed overwhelmed and was very inattentive and unfriendly. She never offered to refill drinks or waters and never asked us how our food was. When we told her we were unsatisfied with the food, she took the plate and walked away without saying a word. She came back with a $5 discount on the bill. Worse service ever. THEN I used the bathroom and when I walked past the server, I could hear her complaining rudely about customers - probably us. Either way, extremely unprofessional to have customers hear the employees complain about other customers. I work in the restaurant business and this would NEVER be tolerated. read more

Not sure about these prior reviews as I did a double take when I saw them....First off this place is on the strip of Salisbury Beach, near Fast Eddies, if that tells you anything. After seeing the reviews regarding the prime rib and food in general, I had to go in and give it a try, as I thought maybe looks could be deceiving and it was an okay place to eat. Wrong! First off, the place is dark and dingy and clearly a drinking establishment for the local drunks. I opened the door and was acosted with men from the bar looking at us as if we were intruding and not normal cusotmers of the place. We felt very uncomfortable, however, we proceeded in and sat. The owner took our drink order, and to be honest appeared to have had too many drinks himself. The place smelled and was very dark and I did not see anyone eating or a cook for that matter, although we were given a menu. I just could not stay any longer as I felt unsafe and we left. Never got to try the food and I never will go back. Trust me, stay away. read more
