Delish. Perfection. Period.
KimSoo S.

Absolutely loved this tasteful establishment.... literally the food, decor and atmosphere in a revived mill complex. This place is happening and it was hard not to eat my entire pizza. They nailed the crust, toppings and timing of the wood fired pizza. Damn it's good. I'm thinking birthday celebrations, cool wedding rehearsal and/or hang out... wish I lived closer. Good for them.

This place is just ok, they seem to always have low amount of items on draft. I go back hoping for a different experience but left disappointed, If they can't provide that many choices of their own beer they should have guest taps. I really want to love this place but they seem to be missing it. The acoustics is awful, they really need sound dapping material around the ceiling and maybe the walls. Sound just echoes around, forget trying to enjoy a band, totally impossible. They really need to step back and see.

This sign is false....Not their hours

Hours posted on a huge sign near the parking lot of the train station posts the hours open Fri-Sun starting at 1 pm. Fair warning --the sign is wrong and they're not open at 1.

Great location right by Essex steam train. Great beer selection. Pizza was outstanding. They didn't have enough oysters to fill out order so the owner came by and said he'd give us what was left at no charge. Sat outside but there's indoor seating as well. Would definitely come back.

While in Essex this weekend, my friend and I stopped at Surfridge Brewery. It's tucked away right behind the Essex steam train. This is such a fun spot! I was surprised at how big the space was, and also how very busy it was, makes sense, since it was Saturday night. I love the look of this brewery. They have comfy couches to sit with your larger group, or equally comfy woven chairs. They make their pizzas in their wood fired oven. I saw other people's pizzas and they looked like they'd be just the way I like them! There are also other food options, including oysters. We only came for some drinks. I got Mr. Pink as my beer. This is a refreshing white ale with busts of zest from the grapefruit and peppercorn. This is a very pleasant choice with some kick! My friend got Gimme One. She described it as "basic, same as Bud Light". We enjoyed chatting here and people watching. It was a rainy day, on warm days they have their patio open for outdoor seating, where dogs are welcome. Their walls are pained with waves and butterflies. Their other location is in El Segundo, California. It's easy to identify all of the California, beachy influence this brewery carries. Our bill came in the Treasure Island book. I love this idea. Of course the theme of the book, matches with the vibe of the brewery. I'd for sure stop by this fun, beach inspired brewery again.

I'm pretty pumped about this spot joining us on the East Coast! I came right as the doors opened on a Saturday and was surprised to see a line of people already outside. (This makes me happy though, as it's great to see small businesses thriving in this time.) That being said, make sure to come early if you want to grab a seat without a wait! We were able to grab two seats at the bar in front of the tv, though next time I would love to sit in the main dining area - there are plenty of tables and I love being able to watch staff cook in open kitchens! The raw bar and the pizza ovens are pretty fantastic to look at, I might add. I love that this brewery offers not only beer, but cocktails and other drink options as well. The menu was also pretty impressive! I got one of the pizzas (sorry, got hungry and ate it too fast before I could take a picture), and I cannot wait to get another. It's the perfect size for two people to share for a meal or 3-4 people for just a light snack of a piece or two. I did wish that the flights were for 6 beers instead of 5 (there are 6 on the menu), but I was able to order an additional "sample size" to be able to try all 6. This is definitely a spot that is perfect for a family dinner, date night, friend get together, or just a quick beer. I will for sure be back!

Highly recommend! My husband and I were looking for a doggy friendly place and stumbled upon Surfridge Brewing! We loved the ambiance, the staff was incredible and both food and drinks were great! We got the charcuterie board and the sausage fennel pizza and a couple drinks and they were delicious!! Will definitely be coming back soon!

Immediately you are greeted by the friendly staff who are so accommodating with letting you try samples of their brews before purchasing. We got a 4 pack to go and loved it. I love how there is complimentary popcorn and how there's a fun viewing of the brewery process open for public to see. My favorite aspect of this brewery had to be their outdoor seating. I loved how cozy and homey it felt almost like you were hanging out in someone's backyard. Next time I am in the area- Little House will be our first stop for sure!

Probably because I didn't have much bookmarked for a planned trip for stops in Connecticut but an opportunity did arise to try a couple of their beers and so I pursued it in which I was quite impressed! I had their Premium which I really enjoyed! It was a Helles Lager which I normally really enjoy. This one was exceptional as it had an excellent flavor profile. It was clean, crisp and some sweetness at work. It was smooth and very easy to have more than one during a single seating. The other beer I liked just as much practically. This was a milk stout called Gimmie The Gorbage (no, I didn't misspell the beer title this time) and it too was quite good. A very smooth beer in which you will find chocolate, coffee, cocoa and molasses flavors that make contact with your tastebuds. Also a very enjoyable beer! A very good beer experience this was and grateful for the opportunity that came along on a brewery that wasn't on my list in which it would have been something I really would have missed out on.

I've been to Elicit Brewing Company in Manchester multiple times -- probably around six times at…read morethis point -- and every single visit has been such a fun experience. This place is HUGE and has so many different vibes all in one building, which I absolutely love. The drink selection is one of my favorite parts. They have so many beers on tap, plus cider flights, sour flights, beer flights -- all different types of flights if you're like me and enjoy trying a little bit of everything. And if beer isn't your thing, they have cocktails too, so everyone in your group can find something they like. The food is just as impressive. The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls are AMAZING -- crispy, flavorful, and honestly one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The burgers are delicious, and the desserts? Oh my goodness. The deep-fried Oreos are next-level. Atmosphere is where Elicit really stands out. There's the big open beer hall feel inside, but also different sections depending on what kind of night you're looking for. It can be chill and casual earlier in the evening, then turn into more of a going-out/club vibe later on. There's a cocktail bar upstairs, and as the night goes on the energy really shifts. In the summer they have bands (sometimes outside), a full outdoor bar, a fireplace, two inside bars, a little quieter lounge area with couches, and even a small game room. Bathrooms upstairs and downstairs make it convenient, and you can rent rooms for private parties too. I also like how the food ordering works -- they give you a pager and you pick up your food when it's ready. Tables are first come, first serve though, so definitely save your spot because you can lose your seat if you're not careful, especially on busy nights. It does get packed on weekends, so I recommend getting there early if you want a good table for your group. But overall, it's one of my go-to spots in Manchester when I want good drinks, great food, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely a place I'll keep going back to -- and those Philly cheesesteak egg rolls will always bring me back.

So I was super excited when I saw they were hosting a galentines day drag brunch !! The drag show was amazing !!! But I was disappointed that there was no BRUNCH food . You can't have a brunch show and no brunch . They did offer a regular menu to order from . The other problem is that there were no servers so we had to order food and go downstairs pick up our own food and. Then bring it back upstairs... which is very annoying if you are going there for a show and have to leave to get food ! Not to mention there was an issue doors were suppose to open at 10 am so we got there early to get seats settle in and order food . However the doors open well after 10:30 . And possibly an issue with the bartenders ( not being available) but they were able to figure that out thankfully by the 11 am show . So a lot of issues .. the show itself was amazing . The food was okay . I did end up getting the grilled chicken sandwich which was good ( nothing amazing ) and the fries were plain no seasoning . 3/5 for the food . The drinks were good ! I ordered the strawberrry Hugo spritz that had elderflower in it which I really enjoyed all flavours were balanced equally (4/5 ) and then I tried the peach hard palmer which I was not a fan off (3/5 ) Drag show 10/10 ! ( highly recommend ) I wish they advertised it a just a drag show and not a brunch + show ( since there was no brunch options ) ! And also a very limited Valentine's Day cocktails ( only one option of a red velvet martini) Overall fun event but need to plan events better if they do plan on hosting and consider adding food specific for the event ( or not advertise as brunch .. if you don't plan on offering brunch food ) !

I'm a sucker for historic architecture so this is awesome. They brew their beers in house and also offer beers from other places. There also have wine and seltzers for the non beer lovers. I am a fan of sours so I had one of their sour beers (forgot the name) it was okay, it was extra sour, too sour. My husband enjoyed their IPAs. Also, we had some house made potato chips and a hot dog. Those were decent; I just wished they offered a dip for those chips! Hummus or something like that? We sat outside on a balmy June day. They had a few tables and our server was great. It's a nice spot to people watch too. Inside was large and spacious. There was a long line to the restrooms though, popular place. Overall, a cool space for some drinks and snacks; I definitely would go back and try out more food and beers.

Nothing out of this world but good enough to have a few pours before heading over to mystic pizza. Service was prompt and efficient, but not overly friendly. Where we unfortunately went wrong was eating here. Cheap fry oils and sloppy sandos that give bar food a bad reputation. I'm not sure why I expected more, but it fell short on freshness, flavor and creativity especially given today's modern brewpub scene. With a plethora of great restaurants in the area, next time I'd probably have drinks here then head to dinner elsewhere.

Niantic Public House & Brewery: Solid Beer, Great Vibe, but the Bar Setup Needs Help…read more Final stop--or technically, our first--on our Niantic-to-Mystic beer crawl was Niantic Public House & Brewery, conveniently located near our Airbnb. The town was buzzing with tourists, and we caught the tail end of a local car show just up the street. The scene had great small-town energy, and live music was just setting up when we arrived. Bonus points for easy parking behind the building. The space has a cool, industrial vibe with bold murals from local artist Jacob Cullers giving it some character. The taproom itself is big, open, and welcoming, with plenty of seating at the bar and throughout the space. The décor isn't exactly cohesive, but it has personality--and for a laid-back beer hang, that works. We tried Mystery of Juiceboxin', a super juicy New England IPA brewed with Mosaic and Citra hops (juiceheads, this one's for you), and D.S.D., a stronger, bolder Imperial IPA. Both were solid pours and easy to enjoy. I ended up going back for a second, which--if you've read any of my brewery reviews--you'll know is my personal barometer for whether a place is worth the stop. The vibe here is clearly geared toward community--super family-friendly, casual, and unpretentious. The live music was a nice touch too. J.C. Revival, a local duo, was playing that afternoon and added just the right amount of energy without overwhelming the space. Now... let's talk about the service. The bartenders themselves were friendly, upbeat, and doing their best--but the layout of the bar is absolutely killing them. Glassware is at the front, taps and sinks are in the back, and it felt like they were in a constant loop just trying to fulfill basic orders. Even on a slow day, service was sluggish simply because of how inefficient the setup is. You could see how hard they were working, but the system they're working within just doesn't make sense. A bar remodel focused on flow and function would go a long way here--not just to improve speed, but to take some pressure off the staff, who really were trying their best. Bottom line: The beer is worth the visit, the space has charm, and the energy is welcoming. But if you go, pack a little patience. Here's hoping they invest in a more functional bar setup--because with better service speed, this place could be a standout.
