I was at a private event (baby shower) at Elicit and it was great! The entire upstairs was rented out for the event. There was a full bar there but for frozen drinks it was only served at the patio bar. We were given wristbands for drinks at other bars other than the one where our event took place so it was counted as our open bar for the event. The space is so nice and it was decorated beautifully. Great lighting. Could've been cooler with air conditioning as it was super hot on a July afternoon. There were bar seating, regular tables and booths. We were able to order any drink. The food was set up in a different room and there was also seating there. The garlic Parmesan and Cajun dry rub wings were sooooooo delicious; cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The pizza was thin crust bar pizza and really good. The signature salad had candied walnuts with a spring mix, blue cheese crumbles and vinaigrette. The salmon in lemon caper sauce was my absolute favorite! My only complaint is there's no elevator for ADA access and the AC could've been better.

I visited Elicit for their Y2K music bingo night. It was such a fun time and there was a large turnout! I like that Elicit hosts so many events. Their space is perfect for big groups and they have an upstairs event venue as well. Their holiday decorations are really cool and add to the space for sure. I got a southern hospitality burger which came with some really good french fries. I think I could've had a plate of the fries alone and been happy. The burger was good and filling, but a bit messy. Something compelled me to order a non-alc espresso martini off their mocktail menu and while it was delicious, I'm pretty sure it was just coffee in a martini glass lol. All in all, a great spot for when you're looking for something to do!

Have come here a couple times and always have had a good experience. Great spot for a large group as area is huge and has outdoor/ indoor seating. Enjoyed various beers of all sorts and good bites. Recommend

Came here for a retirement get together. So, the hubby and I decided to come a bit early to get something to eat. When we walked in. There were two table couch areas that were vacant. But the table was filled with so much glasses and garbage. We still sat at one of the tables and just pushed the garbage to the side. We ordered food and just waited to see if anyone would clear the table across from us. Of course the table wasn't cleared and a couple that came in and wanted to sit there ended gathering all the trash and putting it on the tray and brought it to the counter. Ok, let's talk food. The food was good. The hubby and I shared a burger which I can't remember the burger name. We had that with some sweet potato fries. Which both the sweet potato fries and the burger was really delicious. We had also ordered some buffalo chicken wings which was also good. And I added some whipped ricotta and sourdough bread. The food was good for a little bar bite. I also liked how they have so many beers on tap to choose from. I definitely recommend to come here if you want to have some little bites and good beer and spend time with great company.

Food was actually very good. The spicy shrimps in particular

Huge place, much bigger than I thought walking in. They have several dining spots, at the front, .idle back, way back and to the side. There are even breakout rooms in the side and an outdoor section in the back. We came here for trivia and even on a Monday there was a lot of buzz and itvwas loud. Food was actually pretty good, you have to order it at the station and they have a whole wall dedicated to drinks. Fun place to hang out, good energy and vibe.

This brewery has it all! 50 beers on tap, a whole host of major and small batch liqueur in the cocktail bar, and the atmosphere is fantastic! The bartenders were phenomenal and the drinks were incredibly tasty! I had the coffee porter and it was amazing. Can't wait to go back again!

This was my second time at Elicit Brewing. First time I was here was with Yelp Elite crew and that day, I knew I had to come back and bring my friends. I came by on March 16, 2023 with a group of friends. We all agreed with this sentiment. AMBIENCE: The ambience is electrifying. Everyone is enjoying themselves. I loved the set out of plenty of sitting in the large area and then the sofas on the other side. Its perfect for large groups. BEER & FOOD: The drinks variety are plentiful. There is a beer for everyone. I love their prices as I have gone to many brewery and the beer prices are much balanced here. On this day they even have beers at $3 dollars. So if you are on a budget, you have choices. I have to talk about the food. I have to say that yes its mainly bar food but OMG everything is done RIGHT. I mean it. Everyone in my group agreed that the choices were great and quality was amazing. We were extremely surprised with their eggplant fries which some in the group don't like eggplants and were LIKE WHAT?? Yes they loved it. We had the following items in their menu; sweet potatoes waffles; Philly eggrolls; burger and fries, chicken bites, eggplant fries, wings, sweet heat. EVENT: On this day they had live music on the down stairs and DJ upstairs. I love them both. We left almost at 1am after dancing and singing with strangers that were all there to have fun. I love that they had plenty of security presence everywhere. This is highly important to me and it gave me a sense of safety and responsibility from the staff. My friends all loved it and thought the only bad thing is how far they are from us. STAFF and ORDERING: Here I thought they had excellent ordering system and process. They have a great set up with at least 6 cashier registers to dispense your drink orders. On the other side they have about 2 registers for food ordering. Everything is very modern and easy to order. You get a buzzer, get a table and then pick up your food a few minutes later. So come on over and experience what a great brewery looks like. Loved every minute here and hope to be back soon.

Two butt- FUGLY freaks who refuse to leave young women alone at illicit brewery. Ban these brain-dead goblins ASAP

Employees have updated on the two creeps who were harassing women and insisted that they were removed from the establishment and banned for life. Thank you for making the right call. Ensuring all your patrons are safe and comfortable is 5 star customer service and should be appreciated

A brewery that is also an event space! They have a lovely downstairs area and a back porch with a firepit in the summer. Inside there are many rows of high top tables, a lounging area out front, and then often a dance club and bar area upstairs! The upstairs part of the venue area is sometimes closed for special events and it has a wonderful glass overlook where you can peer down on the rest of the establishment... (if you go to the bathroom or into one of the adjoining rooms). Good for groups! Note that during peak business hours, it may be hard to find a seat! For food --- it is bar food but I have no complaints. Note that it is not usually why I go there... (actually never something that I can quite recall much about -- either good or bad)... but I recommend swinging by if you are looking for a good time on a Thursday through Saturday night!

Had such a great time at Elicit Brewing last night! The food was delicious and they have a large menu, offering tacos, wings, pizza, sandwiches, desserts, and more. I sampled several of the tacos (my favorite being the chicken) and wings (offering five different flavors), and cheeseburger sliders, and everything was great! I LOVED their fried Oreos, which are fairly new to the menu and a great addition. Plenty of choices on tap, but also have cocktails and mock-tails available too. I highly suggest the Downeast cider donut (with cinnamon sugar rim) or their cocktail Butter Balls (can't go wrong with cream soda and butterscotch schnapps). This is the perfect place for a night out or to chill and watch the games, so much seating and huge televisions. Not to mention the staff was so friendly and the service was exceptional.

The brewers were brewing, and the space inside was nice. They also had an expansive outdoor area and plenty of parking. The drinks were well done, lots of flavors and varieties on tap. No one complained about the beers though the drinks were small for the price. The food venue towards the back was pumping out pizzas from a giant pizza oven with a blazing fire. I ordered some appetizers from the menu for my team to share. Meatballs, elote, and waffle fries. The apps were not easily shareable but we made it work. Waffle fries were generic and not crispy enough. The elote was corn pancakes rather than corn on the cob. My mistake for not fully reading the menu. Flavor was good but messy. Meatballs were good in terms of flavor and consistency, got a decent amount for the price too. The meatballs were the best bite. The pizza is trying to be New Haven style but is missing the structure. Way too floppy and heavy for the style of crust. Needs to be lighter on the sauce and cooked just a couple minutes more to really solidify that bottom and get rid of the tip droop. Cheese had a good elasticity to it though, good cheese pulls. As an informal event venue, it's pretty good but pricy for what you get. As a local brewery, if it can keep its events constant then it will do well. As a food venue, it's high for where it is but the quality is reasonable. A few more shareable apps beyond pizza and just a few small tweaks to the pies and they will be great.

We didn't try the food but based on their beer quality, the food would be equally epic. Generally when you stop into a brewery you'll try a few beers and find one or two you like. Note to the owner: unless Greg's demeanor and attitude improve significantly, it would be in the company's best interest to remove him from customer-facing interactions. My husband and I visited this brewery for the first time around 4:30 PM. It was slow, and as experienced brewery-goers, we asked about flights so we could decide which beers we might want as full pours. We were helped by a woman with short blonde hair who was friendly, knowledgeable, and exactly what you want in a customer-facing role. She explained that while flights are not offered, she was happy to provide small samples to help us decide and assured us it was no problem. She also explained that half pours were available. She poured five small samples for us. My husband chose a half pour of Lil Lager and a half pour of Oktoberfest, and I ordered an Athletic NA. We also ordered pretzel bites, which we were told had to be rung in separately--unusual, but fine. Shortly after receiving our drinks, I noticed that all half pours were listed at a flat rate of $5, even though a full 16oz Lil Lager was only $4 and the 16oz Oktoberfest was $7. I mentioned this to the woman helping us, and she agreed it didn't make sense. She told us she would charge us $2 (a soda price) for the Lil Lager half pour, which we felt was fair and reasonable. This agreement was clearly communicated and understood. At this point, Greg abruptly inserted himself into the interaction, asking if we were done and demanding our card, despite the fact that we had just received our drinks and were still waiting for food. He had not been involved in our transaction at all. His interruption was unnecessary, uncomfortable, and disruptive, especially given that the woman assisting us was more than capable of handling everything. When Greg questioned her about our tab, she explained the pricing adjustment she had already agreed upon with us. Greg dismissed her explanation and overrode her decision. He rang us up and charged $5 for the half pour of Oktoberfest, $4 for the half pour of Lil Lager, and the full $5 for my Athletic--completely disregarding the agreement made with us and undermining his coworker in front of customers. His actions felt deceptive, disrespectful, and violating, not only toward us but toward his colleague as well. By this point, the entire experience had soured. When our food finally arrived, we just wanted to leave. As we passed Greg on our way out, he told us to "have a good night." I told him directly that he had handled our transaction incorrectly. He became immediately defensive and interrupted me repeatedly, insisting he had done us a favor by charging $4 instead of the $5 half-pour rate. This completely ignored the fact that we had already agreed--clearly and openly--with his coworker on different pricing, which he knowingly overrode. This was not about the money; it was about principle, respect, and basic customer service. When I told him the experience was awful and that I planned to leave a negative review, he told me to "go right ahead," raised his voice as we were leaving, and falsely accused us of having "20 tastes." This accusation was inappropriate, untrue, and hostile. Greg demonstrated a complete lack of customer service skills, poor judgment, and an inability to understand the basic goal of a brewery: allowing customers to experience the product so they want to purchase more of it. Instead, he dominated his colleague, alienated customers, kept inaccurate tallies, and made unwarranted assumptions. The entire interaction was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and frankly bizarre. If this establishment is going to hold small tastes against customers, then flights should be offered for purchase. As it stands, the environment felt unwelcoming and inhospitable. We will not be returning, and I will be sharing this experience with friends, family, and neighbors. This was, without question, one of the worst customer service experiences we've had at a brewery.

Great burger, not so great tacos…read more Learned that Catsup and Mustard's chef decided to make a new place tied with urban lodge. I'm always down for a good burger, and catsup was one of the best burgers around. So I made the trek to this locale to relive the greatness. Place is a little walk-up order place. Like a roadside snack shack or a ice cream shop. You put your order in, you get a marker, and a server comes out to deliver your meal. We ordered their Diablo burger, some truffle fries, and one of all their tacos. Knew the burger was going to be good, figured the tacos would be too. They were not, at all. The fish taco smelled very fishy and was underseasoned. So you got this smelly soft fish and chewy taco shell and that's about it. The chorizo taco was more like sweet Italian sausage with no flavor. With the same chewy shell. The cilantro lime chicken taco, the chicken was dry and the bang boom sauce was more of a rice Krispy snap crackle and pop. No punch, very little heat. The mister mack was the best of the bunch, with flavors similar to a cheeseburger. Still a chewy shell, but a good bite. The burger and fries were stellar. The Diablo burger was spicy and juicy, tons of toppings and a very thick patty. Bun was soft, toasted, and everything worked together harmoniously. The truffle fries were fresh cut, soaked, double fried, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The truffle was pronounced but not overpowering, and the basalmic catsup and truffle mayo were great dips. If you stick to the burgers, there's lots to love. Avoid the tacos, but the burgers are still really good.

Nothing was seasoned, loved the idea of the cheese between the shells, but honestly the execution just made everything chewy. It was founded by business partners Chip Glanovsky and head brewer Jim Wilfinger. Friends since high school, the two partners began brewing their own beer using fresh fruit and natural ingredients. Eventually, they had a dream of opening their own brewery. In 2018, they registered their brand as "Blind Faith Brewing Company, LLC". On paper, they are still known under that name. However, sometime before their brick and mortar brewery opened in 2022, they discovered that Vermont-based Magic Hat Brewing Company had already copyrighted the name "Blind Faith" for an English IPA of theirs. Needing a new name quick, Chip and Jim settled on "Almost Famous" in reference to the 2000 film directed by Cameron Crowe. The name is also meant to honor all people who almost got famous but didn't in the end. I recently visited Almost Famous for the first time. I immediately loved the space. It's very spacious with a large taproom, plenty of seating, a private event room, a billiards room, and a classic arcade room. I also loved the Rock 'n' Roll theme that was going on. The bar was built to resemble Marshall amplifiers, truss towers, and the tap handles were all different guitars. I started off with a sampler flight that featured "Anything's Impossible" (American Pilsner), "Tangent" (Tangerine Fruited Sour), "Stranger Than Fiction" (Cream Stout), "Everybody Wants Some!" (Pineapple Vanilla Bean Milkshake IPA) and "Bitch 'B' trippin" (Double New England IPA). The latter two were my favorites. Afterwards, I enjoyed a full pour of "Bubblegumption" (Bubblegum Milkshake IPA). Overall, I had a great experience at Almost Famous. I would love to return with my family in the future; my sons will love the arcade!

A friend introduced him to Dee: a homebrewer with an education background in biomedical science. Atkins, a huge craft beer fan, came on board for the project after Doyle and Dee started getting serious about opening their own brewery. A logo, business plan, and financing were put together. Although the brand was founded in 2015, it took nearly two years to find the right location. In 2017, New Park opened at The Shops at 485 New Park: a former ball bearings factory turned multi-media venue. New Park's mission is to offer consumers the highest quality beverages and experiences that they possibly can. In recent years, the brewery has also begun producing intervention wines, heirloom cider, and sourdough pizza in addition to their artisanal brews. I first visited New Park Brewing in March 2018, when they had just turned a year old. I was very impressed from that first visit and they quickly became one of my Top 5 favorite Connecticut breweries. I recently visited the taproom for the second time ever. I had heard that they started crafting artisanal sourdough pizza pies in recent years and wanted to try them paired up with their excellent beer. I love the whole industrial design vibe that's going on inside the taproom. Since my initial visit, the brewery has also since added an outdoor biergarten and an indoor private event space with a stage and bar (dubbed "The Green Room"). I started off with a short pour of one of my go-tos: "Cloudscape" (IPA). It's delicious, hazy, and full of citrus and tropical fruit notes. For pizza, I ordered the "Soppressata" (red sauce, fior di latte, mozzarella, soppressata, red onion, goat cheese, honey, grana padano) and the "Chef Special" (pecorino cream, fior di latte, mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto, balsamic glaze, grana padano). To pair with them, I ordered a sampler flight which featured "Little Cloud" (IPA), "Steppe" (Barrel-Aged Saison), "Elmwood" (Dry Cider), and "Double Cloud" (Double IPA). Between the stellar brews and the heavenly pizza, I was in pure bliss! There's a reason why New Park is one of my favorite Connecticut breweries; I hope to be back again and again!
