My friend got married here and I was finally able to visit. I'm not an avid beer drinker so I tend to stay away from breweries unless the vibe calls for it. I loved the aesthetic of the two rooms we were in. Although the decorations were brought by the party for the event, you could still tell the space had great bones. I loved the hanging pothos from the ceiling rods. The food was delicious, although a bit run of the mill. I did not drink but I heard others raving about the selection of beer. New Park Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in West Hartford, Connecticut in March 2017. It was founded by business partners John Doyle, Alex Dee and Tom Atkins. Doyle works in the financial services industry, but had wanted to open his own brewery for a number of years. A friend introduced him to Dee: a homebrewer with an education background in biomedical science. Atkins, a huge craft beer fan, came on board for the project after Doyle and Dee started getting serious about opening their own brewery. A logo, business plan, and financing were put together. Although the brand was founded in 2015, it took nearly two years to find the right location. In 2017, New Park opened at The Shops at 485 New Park: a former ball bearings factory turned multi-media venue. New Park's mission is to offer consumers the highest quality beverages and experiences that they possibly can. In recent years, the brewery has also begun producing intervention wines, heirloom cider, and sourdough pizza in addition to their artisanal brews. I first visited New Park Brewing in March 2018, when they had just turned a year old. I was very impressed from that first visit and they quickly became one of my Top 5 favorite Connecticut breweries. I recently visited the taproom for the second time ever. I had heard that they started crafting artisanal sourdough pizza pies in recent years and wanted to try them paired up with their excellent beer. I love the whole industrial design vibe that's going on inside the taproom. Since my initial visit, the brewery has also since added an outdoor biergarten and an indoor private event space with a stage and bar (dubbed "The Green Room"). I started off with a short pour of one of my go-tos: "Cloudscape" (IPA). It's delicious, hazy, and full of citrus and tropical fruit notes. For pizza, I ordered the "Soppressata" (red sauce, fior di latte, mozzarella, soppressata, red onion, goat cheese, honey, grana padano) and the "Chef Special" (pecorino cream, fior di latte, mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto, balsamic glaze, grana padano). To pair with them, I ordered a sampler flight which featured "Little Cloud" (IPA), "Steppe" (Barrel-Aged Saison), "Elmwood" (Dry Cider), and "Double Cloud" (Double IPA). It's been a long dry spell for me, turned a few pages last year to a new chapter, not to exceed 0.5% ABV. I know it's a sad chapter, but like many there's a bright side. My best buds at New Park Brewing answered my call by introducing Parallel 0.5% ABV! I missed the first release of Parallel, but not this go round! On faith of New Park's broad reputation and loved devotion I knew this West Coast blend would fit the bill. Darker translucent hue and bold roasted malt hop combination brought a smile to my face. New Park Brewery is one of my favorite spots to grab a great beer! I'm obsessed with almost all of their Blenders, and my absolute favorite IPA has to be the Cloudscape--it's perfectly balanced and always hits the spot. I don't get there as often as I'd like since I live out in Coventry, but in the summer they're usually at the Coventry Farmers Market, which is a huge bonus. There's nothing better than picking up a fresh 4-pack and wandering around with a cold beer in hand. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the beer is consistently top-notch. Breweries typically aren't my thing but this place is so big, bright and inviting. The staff is super attentive and sweet. You can buy their craft, canned drinks to go which was a huge plus especially since it's New Year's Day and all the package stores are closed. BIG YES for me. I tried two of their pies and a few of their cocktails -/ the hot honey and their Brussels and bacon (my fav of the two). I tried their new park sunset cocktail, PHENOMENAL. I also tried their Hanai, a canned drink that you could buy to go, over ice with lime. I had an event at New Park Brewing. Have never been there I was excited to try a new brewery! They have some outdoor seating as well as a spacious indoor seating area and seats at the bar. We, however, were in an event room in the back there were 150 people confirmed to attend I will say the space was a bit tight. I had this and that beer and it was absolutely delicious. The bartender was gracious to help me to determine what I wanted. They served pizza at the event and I have to say it was perfect not too heavy very thin just the way I like it exclamation point I would return just to have a pizza again. I really liked the Blender which tasted like a berry sour. Pizza is pretty good. Service is always friendly. New Park Brewery opened to the public in 2017. When we went on Saturday afternoon, the place was packed, no seating was available. The tap room was spacious with plenty of tables; there weren't any seats at the bar, which I liked. There was room to get drinks, but there was a short, quick moving line. There were plenty of tables and seats outside; only downside, it was cold. The parking lot was large and we found parking easily. They had a wine, cocktail, and draft beer menu; on the draft, aside from beer, they also had cider and barley wine. I really enjoyed the Elmwood Cider, there were two options to choose from, dry and semi-dry; I chose semi dry which had a bit of apple sugar flavor and a little sweeter that the latter. I also had the Cypress Barley wine, it's barrel aged with malt; personally, I did not like that at all, the flavors instantly upset my stomach and made me nauseous. If you're hungry, they have a food menu as well as a happy hour food and drinks menu. We didn't partake in that because we already had dinner before we got there. Just had our wedding here on June 21, 2025! The Barrel Room - We had 31 guests and it was the perfect fit. They also have a bigger room, The Green Room if you have a larger guest count. Planning - Christine + the New Park staff were absolutely amazing! She answered every single question we had, helped us out with those small details, and made every step so easy! Thankfully the venue took care of the tables, chairs, & place settings. We got 2 hours for set up & 1 hour for tear down, and as a DIY bride this was so great! Food - We really wanted a meal that we would enjoy and didn't want traditional "wedding food". We opted for Patty's Pizza catering + stationed hors d'oeuvres from Salt & Pepper Catering. Our guests were obsessed with the pizza and kept talking about it all week. Highly recommend - Veggie, Artichoke, Meatball, Pepperoni, with Caesar Salad. Spring Rolls, Korean BBQ skewers, Pollo Asado Empanada, Nashville Hot Chicken Bites, Beef Barbacoa Empanada. They also have a ton of other options like a pub menu, Gato's Tacos, brunch, buffet, & dessert options. Alcohol - We opted for the Beer, Wine, & Liquor option and it was a hit with our guests. The Blender was a hit even for those who don't usually drink beer! Parking - There was an event the same day as our wedding so the parking was a bit tight but they have parking in the back + street parking. Thankfully we told our guests to use ride-share so they could enjoy the open bar! Decor - The Barrel Room was already so cute we really didn't need much extra decor. From cute pink palm tree wall to the barrels with plants everywhere, it was stunning. We were able to pick the table and place setting arrangements and napkin colors. We also got to use their arch which added a great addition to the ceremony space. Music - I am such a music girly that I really wanted my exact playlists playing. They provided this speaker + mic that worked perfectly for our needs. I created several playlists on Spotify that we used all night and plugged in our IPad. Our guests had a blast and so glad we opted to go this route. Happy to share my playlists, if you are interested! Dog Friendly - Another requirement we had for our wedding was to have our pup attend. There was plenty of room for us to have him there and be a part of the ceremony while also having his own space to relax during the rest of the wedding. Things to Know - If you are having your ceremony in this room, they don't really have a place to "hide" before your guests arrive. We really wanted to spend a lot of time with our guests so we both were in the room as everyone arrived. If they didn't have the event the same day, they offered for us to hide in the green room. Overall - We really wanted an all inclusive type venue that was within our budget. Our main priorities were food, drinks, and overall guest experience. If you are having an intimate wedding where you want to have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and rehearsal dinner all in one space, this is the place for you! Came to New Park for some brews and a snack. I like the location, old antique looking inside with small patio for nicer weather. I've had their beer many times. They have many different styles, I prefer their IPAs, Double Cloud and Cloudscape. They also usually have a rotating blender on tap which is their Berliner, always a hit. For food we got the Chili Honey wings and the French fries which were seasoned with Parmesan, rosemary and garlic. Fries were the highlight and were so good! Made my second visit to New Park recently and it made me wish I lived closer to West Hartford! Inside is a big open space with picnic tables and some bar seating. Outside also had plenty of space but I ended up staying inside. The servers were attentive and friendly. Like most brewpubs it's an "order at the bar and they bring it to your table kind of place." I tried 4 styles of beer while in the taproom and they were all really well crafted. I had their hazy NEIPAs before and knew they were good but what was the most impressive to me was that their barrel aged sours and stouts were also top notch. I had a peach wild and a hazelnut BA stout that were up there with the big boys of brewing. They also have fruited Berliners (blender series) that are as good as any fruited beers you can get around these parts. Sadly, after a long day on the road I was so eager to eat that I never snapped any pictures of the food. We had wings, meatballs, Caesar salad and pepperoni pie and it was all fantastic! I was admittedly pretty reluctant to get a meatball at a brewery but threw caution to the wind and was pleasantly surprised. It was 2 large meatballs that tasted fresh with a nice pomodoro sauce. My wife and daughter split the Caesar and said it was really good. Wings were crispy and the pizza was cooked perfectly as evidenced by the pepperoni taking on that nice cup shape. This is a welcoming and comfortable brewery with enough of a variety to satisfy everyone. Pours are generally 8 and 12 oz., and flights are available. The decor is fun. I had to have the Ferrous Sumatra if only for the name but also for the great taste. We had meal plans elsewhere, otherwise I would have definitely ordered pizza. The pies looked and smelled wonderful. They can accommodate good-sized groups here, and this would definitely be a place I would want to bring a group for food and drink. read more

Makes it difficult for visitors to try several especially for those not currently on draft. New Park Brewing is the single biggest reason why I stopped driving to Charlton, Massachusetts. They have tremendous IPA's and doubles like Cloudscape, Double Cloud, Wavelength and Headband. In addition, New Park's Blender Series put me on the trailhead of the right path to appreciation of fruit sours. Still getting there. New Park's craft beers might not be my absolute favorite, but they're pretty close. When you factor in the drive time for similar New England craft beer alternatives, I regularly choose New Park as the best option. Many more knowledgeable craft beer nerds than I feel the same. In this regard, New Park Brewing has single-handedly driven down statewide carbon emissions .0003%. Possibly true story. I buy cans to go from New Park, and I've also had good times with friends on the New Park grounds. I still laugh remembering when my friends and I shared a large table with a woman who was flabbergasted and almost got whiplash when my friend said he hates "Hamilton" the musical. Talk about an unpopular hot take. I never had laughs like that in the West Hartford Design District before New Park Brewing. New Park is a phenomenal asset to the Greater Hartford area. I came here recently and was surprised that's they've expanded their space into the next one. Previously they did not have tvs but this additional work had a projector with a football game on it. All the people work here are super friendly. I love their blenders which are very fruit forward and I like the addition of a pizza oven! Yet another amazing CT brewery! My husband and I came here for a quick beer before dinner in the center. We found a table near the bar and the friendly bartenders helped us pick beers (both sours) and had us served within minutes. The sour beers were tasty- tart and fruity. Once we sat down I was slightly disappointed we couldn't eat here, as the pizzas everyone around us was eating looked ah-mazing! Guess we will have to come back again for the food. TLDR; great pizzas and great drinks at the casual brewpub space. Tasty pies - The pizzas had a welcome artisanal edge that we all really liked and you can tell the ingredients are high quality. Long waits - I'm not sure why but it took almost 45 minutes to get our 2 pizzas. I would chalk it up to a fluke but seemed like there was just 1 man in the back making everything for about 10 tables so hopefully it's not like that all the time. Once we got our food though we couldn't have been happier. This was my first visit here as it's a little outside of my normal stomping grounds. We had family in from out of town and went exploring for new beers. We really enjoyed New Park, the beer selection and taste were really good. We shared some appetizers and wished we hadn't already had dinner plans so we could try the pizza. Met up with a friend for trivia tonight. The service was solid as usual, with a nice, clean, atmosphere,and the beer has always been great, but we hadn't had dinner yet and decided to order some food. My previous experience w/ ordering food (last year?) was pretty sub-par (the roasted Brussels sprouts were so undercooked that I sent them back - I never send things back - and the replacement sprouts were still tough and undercooked). This time my experience was the polar opposite. The buffalo wings weren't anything special, but exactly what you'd expect, so no disappointment. The hot honey pizza was exceptional; high-quality ingredients, perfectly cooked crust; I'm glad there was someone to share it with, as I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from eating the whole thing. If my next trip yields similar results, I'll consider writing off my first experience as an outlier, and bump the review up to a 5. read more

"Saturday in the park, I think it was the Fourth of July" (Chicago) Our Saturday in the Park, wasn't on the Fourth of July, it was on the Sixth of July. And we were very glad we went because visiting New Park Brewery was an excellent experience. The Taproom is big, bright and cheery with very colorful artwork all over the place. They're in a nicely renovated old industrial building and have pale yellow walls and huge windows that let the daylight pour in. They had five beers on tap today, and I love that a lot of styles were represented, sort of something for everyone's palette. They had a Saison (Twain), a Berliner Weisse (Blender Brunch), and Oat Meal Stout (Porridge), an IPA (Lumin), and a Double IPA (Double Fragment). Food trucks are a big part of the New Park scene, and today the good folks from Craftbird were there. We both ordered a 12 ounce -$8 glass of Blender Brunch (5% ABV) to go along with our chicken sandwiches from Craftbird. Here is New Park's website description of Blender Brunch - "Hopped with Mosaic and conditioned on massive amounts of tangerines and a touch of cranberries. Huge flavors of fresh squeezed tangerine juice, mimosas at brunch, and tart cranberry jam". I can't tell you how much I loved it. It was loaded with citrus taste, and sure did remind me of a mimosa. I would order this again and again. Bottom line, is we loved New Park Brewery. We loved everything from their big bright and inviting taproom, to their beers, to their ambiance, and to their food trucks. They even have live music on a regular basis. read more

OK OK so I'm SUPER late to review my favorite brewery but I'm here now and that's what matters. I. LOVE. NEW. PARK. This is easily my favorite brewery in all of CT and the reason is simple: The Blender Series. This beer is the best. If you are someone who hates beer, you will love any kind of Blender from NPB. My favorite is the Blender Black & Blue and Blender Raspberry. They taste like juice. Definitely similar to a sour but they are SO. GOOD. New Park also gets the best food trucks in my opinion. Mercado, Whey Station, Chief Brody's, and Craftbird frequent this brewery. You can usually see their schedule on social media a few days before the weekend. Great outdoor patio and indoor space. I would rate this place 4 stars for the beer but 3 stars overall for a couple reasons. The table set up here is a bit strange. There are these massive tables that have 8 seats and you can not head your friends from across the table. The chairs are also insanely uncomfortable. The park bench style tables seem like a better fit. At the end away from the bar they kept the door propped open which made it extremely cold. People were wearing their jackets/scarves/hats etc. 2 of the bartenders were very helpful and nice, I didn't catch their names but she said they were sisters. I drank the Cloudscape IPA which was pretty good and not your typical IPA. My friends enjoyed the Pale Ale, the Cloudscape and the Canopy. I've been a customer of New Park from their beginning and have always loved their operation. Their beers are fantastic (especially the hoppy offerings), their space is great and the service terrific as well. I tried their food for the first time in August and loved it too. The pizzas, wines and apps were all fantastic. My experience this past Sunday however was vastly different. We got three pizzas for takeout and they were absolutely terrible. The crust was hard as a rock. Half the the pie had a crust that was blonde and the other half burnt. I know when I pie is beautifully charred/leopard spotted vs. burnt. These were (half) burnt. Also, we had to wait 20 minutes past the estimated wait time for the third pie, and by the time we got them home, two were cold. The Caesar salad was also very dry because it only came with one dressing. If the order was relatively inexpensive, I wouldn't be too upset, but for $88, I feel like I was taken for a ride. I reached out to New Park via Instagram (they have no email address posted to their website) about my experience and got no reply. I didn't expected a full refund or anything, but an apology and/or an offer for a complimentary pie would have been nice. Needless to say, I won't be going back again for their food and I recommend others do likewise. read more

So, so fantastic. Not only does New Park Brewing feature some truly excellent beers, but they host fun events in a great setting - often with live music and a food truck. Plus, they're located in a building with some of my other favorite businesses (lookin' at you WIP and Blaze & Bloom). The last time I stopped in was on the last true weekend of normalcy in early March. They were having an event celebrating International Women's Day and one of my pals was selling her baked goods onsite. The brewery had some wonderful beers on tap and I sampled a few that I hadn't tried before - one being the release of Reef, designed and brewed by the women of New Park. Small parking lot , but can always park on the horseshoe street parking , even across the street or Home Depot (adjacent). We were amazed at how people lined up for the cans .... Everyone was buying headband, so we did too! Clean bathrooms , smaller outdoor seating and patio but feel free to ask others to sit down and share the big tables . New Park is one of the two breweries in West Hartford. I've been going here for several years. There are times when it's so packed there's nowhere to sit, they currently don't offer bar seating. During the warm months the outside seating is really nice, with a food truck, and string lights for a relaxing ambiance. This is a pretty little brewery, yet they still have live music a few times a month. It can be difficult to talk during the music. The artwork and their decorative skateboards are a nice touch. Every time I go to New Park I always get their blender beer. There was a period of time when I believed they're the only ones who brewed this type of beer. Their current one is called Blender Festivus. And this is just what I like. It's got all types of delicious, juicy berries, it's so flavorful, 5.0 % proof, and so easy to drink. I wouldn't call this a sour, but it has a crispness and a creaminess to it! I love it! This brewery is a bit more expensive, and unfortunately they don't offer flights. It's still worth going here, and experiencing their craft. read more

I was in the area so I decided to stop by based on a recommendation. Like always , I start with a flight however, they didn't have flights here but the staff(Hannah and Lidnsey) was more than accommodating making sure I was able to sample every beer. This was my first time trying a Bacon and Brussels Pizza, it was really good paired with their English Porter called Chap. With the first bite of pizza you get back on, mozzarella, Bacon and sauteed onions. Finish that off with a sip of Chap, and you get a hint of roast from the Brussel sprouts and smoke with a salty sweetness from the bacon and a semi sweet chocolate on the finish. Every beer I tried was spot on. My favorite pairing beer was the English Porter. Little Cloud was a soft Hazy almost feeling like your palate is in a cloud of sweet fluffy oranges. The Winner is Double Wavelength which was a DIPA that came in at 8.5%. It leaves your palate feeling juicy with a very settle lemongrass green onion bite but nothing overwhelming. read more

I love New Park..... I'm a big fan of their Raspberry and Black & Blue Blenders (Berliner weisse). Plus, I love that this place has a nice sunny outside patio and there usually is a food truck outside if you have the munchies. The view could be better but the beer makes up for it. It's not a big brewery so if your coming with a big group you might need to be early to get a choice table. read more

Last night was amazing! Great band. Great patio set up. The beer selection rocked and El Pollo Gaupo's food truck was even there too! All around winning combination! I ordered the Blender Guava Passionfruit: Berliner Weisse 5.0% Brewed with malted wheat and conditioned on huge amounts of pink guava and passionfruit. Big flavors of tropical fruit punch and rustic grain. So refreshing on a warm summer night. Somehow we were lucky enough to score a front row table to the live music, Among The Acres.
