Recommended: Yes, for a peaceful retreat and world class beer. Overall: An all-time favorite brewery of mine, and definitely one of the top in Connecticut! The beer is outstanding the vibe is relaxing and flawless. What more do you want? Snapshot: Beer: 5/5 Vibe: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Value: 4/5 ‍‍ Family-Friendly: 4/5 Highlights: Perfect For: A a family friendly picnic! Don't Miss: Their IPAs! They might be known primarily for amazing traditional styles and farmhouse ales, but don't sleep on their IPAs! Pro tip: Pack a picnic and relax in the shade for a perfect afternoon! All The Details: One of my all-time favorites, and not just in Connecticut, in the world! I was first introduced to them as one of the few breweries in Connecticut that truly has an expansive list of various traditional styles and a superb coolship program. And while it's refreshing to go to a brewery and see something other than 20 different IPAs on a board, I must say they also have some of my favorite IPAs in Connecticut. I'm not sure if I've truly had a bad beer from them. There are definitely some I prefer over others, and I won't get into the details of why I personally prefer a little more bite out of a Czech Pils, but seriously have not found a beer I couldn't drink on their menu. (and that's saying a lot cause I'm the worst kind of Beer Snob). The perfect farmhouse oasis, this is one of the few family, friendly breweries I've been to where not only do I feel the kids are welcome, but I wasn't bothered by people letting their kids run a muck and hoot & holler. There were a ton of families with kids happily playing, and everyone just seemed at ease. They even had a little toddler size picnic table for my kids to sit at which kept them entertained far longer than I imagined. The bathroom situation is a little tight with a single stall, but we happened to go on a crowded Saturday. The team is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and willing to let you try a sip of anything before buying, which I appreciate. I think my only wish is that they did have some snacks available. Because not gonna lie I completely forgot they don't have any food, but I luckily packed snacks for the kids. Overall, I can't say enough about this beautiful brewery that is equal parts welcoming, calming, and talented!

One of my favorite breweries from the trip! The attention to detail in every aspect is incredible, from the chill ambiance to the friendly staff. And let's not forget about their beers! I couldn't resist trying as many as possible, each one more delicious than the last. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a whole day, savoring every sip and soaking in the relaxing atmosphere. What did I have? - Helmhold, Dunkel 5.3% ABV - Pebble, Table Beer 4.4% ABV - Quiet Night, Czech Dark 5.3% ABV - Sway, Lager 4.9% ABV - The Cabin, Smoked Lager 5.3% ABV - Våronna, Norwegian Style Farmhouse Ale 5.5% ABV

We stopped here on our way to Newport, RI from westchester, NY and it did not disappoint. It's a charming farm/barn brewery with a ton of outdoor space that is great to sit outside on a beautiful day. The interior has two floors with a view of the brew tanks. The staff was helpful and prompt to assist us. They also had to-go beers that you can buy by the can which was a nice touch to take home along with their cool merch. I wish I could come here more often!

Amazing spot! Great vibe, the staff is awesome and the beer is delicious. There is no food available but you are more than welcome to bring something from outside. We noticed a lot of people got Salem Prime Cuts and brought it to enjoy. Now the important stuff!! The beer here is amazing! They have so many different things going on done very well that there will certainly be something you will enjoy. Kid friendly place with a good amount of indoor seating, and a ton of outdoor seating. They have a such huge variety of lager's, IPA's, and sour's that there is definitely something that will be on your wheel house. One of my favorite Connecticut breweries.

I've been visiting fox farm for about 5 years now. I've always enjoyed their beers and a visit to the farm is invariably a nice day. There's plenty of space outdoors so if you want to spread out it would never be a bad idea to visit on a day with nice weather. Inside there's a few seats upstairs in the balcony, and a handful of seats downstairs. Much of the indoor seating is high tops and/or wall space. The beer is obviously the highlight and the reason why they are so popular. Their ability to brew a range of styles AND do it well is hard to match. Plenty of haze shops on every corner nowadays but can they also brew a dunkel that takes your mind directly to Munich? They also have a whole selection of wild and spontaneous ales they brew under the name music vale compositions. They range in acidity and tartness and usually have some adjuncts to please the most sophisticated palates. Their pales, IPAs and DIPAs are soft and low bitterness which I feel also lends to their mass appeal. I've consistently had pleasant exchanges with the staff, even during the pandemic when they were loading up the trunk of my car (remember those good times?).

Peaceful spot with outdoor and indoor seating (nicer outside and not many seats inside). Had the Bower Kolsch and it was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. You can order some cans to go inside, then drive around the back to pick them up. There is a takeout window in back of building.

Fox Farm Brewery is a craft brewery that opened in Salem, Connecticut in May 2017. It was founded by husband and wife Zack and Laura Adams. Laura grew up with her family making homemade wine from grapes on their farm. While Zack was still dating her, he always really enjoying drinking her family's wine (especially with pasta). After he graduated from college, Laura's family gifted Zack a homebrew kit. Zack focused on traditional English styles during his early homebrewing days, but decided to brew a Double IPA which won an award at the 2012 Longshot American Homebrew Contest. A year later, Zack and Laura purchased the historical Fox Farm in Salem, which had been in a state of disrepair. They spent the next few years transforming the property into a brewery. Zack's older brother Dave came on board as a general manager. Brewer Dan Comstock, formerly of Oregon-based de Garde Brewing Company, joined the team as a wood cellar manager in 2019. I first visited Fox Farm back in October 2017 and remember being really impressed. Recently I found myself there again when my cycling team had a training ride that began and ended at the brewery. The gorgeous 30-acre campus features a tasting room, 15-barrel brewing system, and a stone-facade building which houses barrel-aged beer. Although they don't offer traditional flights, Fox Farm does offer short pours. I was VERY thirsty after my 40-mile bike ride and decided to try samples of "Rove" (Farmhouse Pale Ale), "Leeway: Green Tea" (Gose-Inspired Farmhouse Ale), "Rubis" (Farmhouse Ale with Raspberries & Cherries), "Pora" (IPA), "Consonance & Dissonance: Aromella" (Spontaneous Ale), and "Burrow" (Double IPA). Every single beer I tried was phenomenal, but the two IPAs were my favorite. Between the fantastic brews, the friendly staff, and the beautiful campus, I can easily call Fox Farm one of my Top 10 favorite Connecticut breweries!

If you make it to Fox Farm, make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy this place. At this moment there is no food on the premises, but you can pick up some snack and keep them in the car for when your appetite opens up. Also, during my visit, we needed to make reservations to sit down. So keep that in mind. Fox Farm sits on an old farm, they have a silo and everything. Patrons can walk to other buildings near the taproom and sit and enjoy their beers in complete anonymity and solitude, only surrounded by trees and caressed by the winds. You could easily get lost in time. The Connecticut landscape is beautiful, very different from the big city of Hartford. The taproom has a second story where some tables are laid out. I prefer hanging out by the bar and turning this place into a big party, which is what I normally do, but sometimes we need to talk in private so the tables are cool and welcomed. Also, social distancing. To finish, I will say that this is one of my favorite farm style breweries in the country, and one of my favorite breweries in the East Coast. The beers are spotless and very well made. I came during Oktoberfest and they had plenty of German style beers which were amazing. This place truly is a gift to the craft beer community.

Fox Farm is simply the best beer in the state. There isn't a style that they do poorly and there's truly something for everyone here. Great New England IPA's. Hearty stouts. Interesting farmhouse ales. Their facility is a beautiful and peaceful setting. And the taproom is cozy. Their staff is all helpful and seem genuinely thankful that you're there. Reservations are recommended for visiting the taproom. If you're in a hurry, their online ordering and pickup system is efficient and easy. A lifesaver for me during COVID quarantine.

Hands down one of the best breweries in CT- Fox Farm is an amazing spot with even better brews. No matter when you stop in, they always have something exciting and delicious on tap. We tried the Florid- peach blossom and hibiscus sour, Virid- an IPA, and Welly an ESB. All were incredible. The space itself is lovely and beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating as well! Do yourself a favor and come to Fox Farm and grab one of their delicious brews.

A nice place to go and try some new beers. We would happy to find out that they were beers other than pale Ale. They also had a smoked beer which I've never tried before and was interesting. Not really to my taste but an interesting flavor. The person doing our tastings and then pouring our beer was very kind and helpful. We just happen to stop here because we were camping in the area and unfortunately did not have a reservation. They have very few tables outside and none available inside just sit and have lunch and a beer. They said that we could stand around one of the tables outside but that was not my idea of relaxing. We had also brought food to eat for lunch so I wanted to sit and eat. Nice beer in a beautiful environment with lovely people.

Deep sighs from lady at counter clearly irritated at our question if there were any sandwiches or handhelds as she flung her hand up at the screen. Apologized and said we'd seen them listed on the website. Not a great welcome. Ordered at the counter and handed a buzzer. We all ordered ourselves. Collectively - two pizzas, three orders of wings, and a Ceasar salad. We also went to the bar to get drinks. Then we got our own paper plates, napkins, and plasticware. Buzzer went off for one of us about ten minutes later. Pizza. Then 5 minutes later, another's. Wings. Not one person's whole order, but piecemeal. We made SIX separate trips from the front where we were sitting all the way to the back. So it was grab a bite of pizza - BUZZZZZZ - go get salad - a few mouthfuls - BUZZZZZZ - one order of wings - this dance went on for a half hour! Who eats like that? Salad was warm, drowned in anchovy forward dressing and limp lettuce. Asked for extra crispy wings. Flaccid. Super bummed. We had to go back to place our order, get our own tableware, set the table, and then pick up the food... If we had known all this I don't know that we would each have left a 20% tip after ordering. Received more care and service at a DD drive through. Pizza itself was great - just cold by the time we got all our food and were able to sit still and eat. So... all in all - great atmosphere to grab a beer at the bar and yak or order ONE pizza so you all could actually enjoy it warm. Group each wanting something different or expecting food brought to you - not the spot. Just go with the right expectations and you will enjoy.

Beer'd Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Stonington, Connecticut in November 2012…read more It was founded by husband and wife Aaron Simoncini and Precious Putnam. After enrolling in a class entitled "Beers of the World" in college, Simoncini became very interested in craft beer and soon began homebrewing. It was during this time that he gained the nickname "Beer'd". Eventually with his now-wife Putnam, Simoncini set out to open his own brewery. The couple set up shop at the Velvet Mill in Stonington. The historic building was originally home to the American Velvet Company, which operated from 1892 to 1996. Today it is a multipurpose building that is home to a thriving community of small businesses and artist studios. When Beer'd originally opened in the mill, they had just a 100-barrel system. The brewery quickly became notable for their small-batch high quality IPAs. In 2018, Beer'd opened a secondary facility at the Airport Business Park in Groton. This new 12,000-sq-ft space expanded their production capacity to 6,000 barrels. An adjoining 60-seat taproom (dubbed "Beer'd Brewing @ The Silo") opened at the Groton facility in January 2020. To differentiate the two taprooms, the original location in Stonington is now often referred to as "Beer'd Brewing @ The Mill". I recently visited Beer'd @ The Silo. Although they are one of my favorite Connecticut breweries and I've visited their Mill Taproom multiple times, this was my first visit to the Silo Taproom. Unlike the OG taproom which is more family-friendly, the Silo Taproom is intended to be exclusively for the 21+ crowd. It's a pretty nice space too. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the draught menu. Throughout my visit, I enjoyed short pours of "You Like 'A Da Juice" (New England IPA), "Matter of Time" (New England IPA), "Roulette" (Russian Imperial Stout), and "Heavy Weight-Of-Sound" (Triple IPA). They were all excellent, but the last one was my favorite! I'm honestly not sure which taproom I prefer. If you've got little ones or furry friends with you, then head to the Mill. If you prefer a more adult exclusive experience, then head to the Silo. Either way, I plan on enjoying Beer'd beers for years to come!

Beer'd Brewing Co. - The Silo: A Hidden Gem Worth Finding…read more Beer'd was our second favorite stop on our Niantic-to-Mystic beer crawl--and easily one of the better surprises of the weekend. Tucked away in the back of an industrial park near the Groton-New London Airport, The Silo feels like a place you'd only find if someone tipped you off... or if you followed the unmistakable scent of hops and good decisions. We tried two beers during our visit: Organized Playdate, a lime- and pineapple-forward Double IPA with a subtle zestiness, and 8 Days a Week, a clean, easy-drinking American Pale Ale. Both were solid pours--bright, flavorful, and balanced. The kicker? They were on special for just $4 each, which made them taste even better. No complaints. The vibe inside The Silo is sleek and modern without being cold. Think clean lines, minimal décor, and just enough polish to feel stylish while still being comfortable. Despite the industrial setting outside, the taproom has a warm and welcoming feel--a cozy, intimate space that makes it easy to settle in for a round (or two). Service hit the sweet spot: friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. Just what you want when you're tasting your way through unfamiliar brews. Bottom line: Beer'd gets it right. The beers are creative without trying too hard, the space is chill without being boring, and the prices made it feel like a find. If you're in the area, it's worth the slight detour off the beaten path.

There is also parking available in the lot at the marina, about a two minute walk from us on the road running parallel with our road. Please feel free to ask any questions you have regarding the venue &/or event(s). Thanks! For the entryway their response: Sorry for delay, On the right side of the building their is a staircase. Although we own the entire building, we are located on the second floor.
