    Flourless chocolate cake

The Copper Beech Inn / Oak Room holds a special place in my family's hearts, as it is where my parents got engaged back in 1988! They come back for dinner every year, and sometimes, I am lucky enough to tag along. The service here is always second to none, and I am consistently impressed with their creative menu. Being a vegetarian is easy here, and the servers are happy to offer advice when it comes to choosing your dish. This time, I went with two appetizers for dinner - the beet salad and jicama 'ravioli'. The ravioli was one of the most unique things I have tasted in a long time! Kudos to the chef. We will be returning for years and years to come. Thanks for yet another great experience!

    Chocolate mousse cake- delightful!

The Copper Beech Inn is a fun getaway from NYC if you have a car. I reserved a room and got the "Winter Wonderland Package." For $250 and some change, it's a pretty kick ass deal. You get a $100 voucher for dinner, $100 voucher for breakfast, and of course a night in one of their beautiful and unique rooms. Don't expect ultimate luxury- the room was a little awkward and barren and our heating unit made a lot of noise. The food was pretty good, can't complain because price wasn't really a factor due to the $100 voucher. To start, the lobster vol a vent is decadent and delicious. The smoked salmon was ok- but felt like the dish was composed of a bunch of random elements that didn't quite go together. For our main, we had the ribeye for two. Pretty good, but we asked for medium and really got a medium rare/rare. The mashed potatoes were buttery and flavorful and the truffles mushrooms were a great accompaniment to the steak. We finished our meal with a delicious square of chocolate mousse cake. We also ordered a bunch of drinks. The sangria and Irish coffee were delicious. They also have an extensive list of wines. Breakfast was a bit of a wash because we arrived at 10:30am, and breakfast ends at 10. The woman at the front desk was kind enough to offer us some coffee, bagels, and pastries. It would be nice if they clearly posted on the voucher when breakfast ends or told you at the time of check in.

I have been to this restaurant several times. We always eat at the bar. So please keep that in mind. We have never eaten in the dining room. The food is amazing. They have the best charcuterie plate ever. I love the fact that most of their meats and cheeses are local. Their entrees are large portions and very good. There are always good specials as well. The staff is so nice and your glass will never be empty. Top your night off with a chocolate martini for dessert and you won't be disappointed.

Menu changed as with the Cook. I won't say Chef as he doesn't deserve that title. Staff was unfriendly as well

They have a good amount of outdoor seating to the right of the entrance. Inside is a small bar with about eight seats (didn't count) and several high tops. There is also a loft with more seating overhead. We walked up a few steps to enter the building from the parking lot. I'm not sure if the side entrance also has steps so if you have mobility needs, call ahead to check. We sat at the bar and as it was a hot day, I asked for a water before ordering a drink. The water was refilled several times during our visit without my needing to ask. I really appreciate that! The bartender seems to be the owner from the way he was talking and let us know they have live music two night a week plus some nights they offer a special menu like Prime rib night or dogs eat free night. Yes, besides the kids menu, they have a menu for your pup. The interior is very much a barn, with lots of fun, metal signs and train memorabilia all around. Two TV's were on in the front corners of the room so you may be able to watch your game (golf the day we went) but it's not really set up as a sports bar. There is one fair sized restroom for everyone that is clean and locks with a hook and eye latch. They have a good size drinks menu which includes a variety of cocktails, a selection of draft and bottled beers and wine. The bar has quite a collection of whiskeys and tequila's. A separate menu is available for their pub fare foods. The menu is very well crafted. Lots of chicken options, sandwiches and wraps, burgers, hotdogs and salads. My SO got the spicy chicken sandwich. When asked, our bartender let him know it was spicy, but not too spicy and they have hot sauce behind the bar if he wants more heat. Which of course he did. He enjoyed the sandwich; crispy chicken, tasty sauce, fresh veg and bread. Messy to hold, after using several napkins he finished it off w/his knife and fork. Table ware set on the bar after ordering is in small paper sacks. I went for a burger. The patty is quite large, cooked to order and juicy. Fresh veg on there, soft bread and tasty. I enjoyed this burger and it was large enough I almost couldn't finish it. I opted for a side salad (for an up charge) instead of fries. The salad is a good sized side, the veg were fresh and the dressing is on the side. I did try the fries that came with the chicken sandwich and those are really good fries. Fresh potato, crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted. Really good. This was an excellent stop. Chatted with some friendly locals and the barkeep. Had a beverage. Grabbed a tasty sandwich. We left stuffed and happy. What more could you ask.

I've been several times since they opened and almost always get the salmon. What I love is that it's not always the same dish, it changes but always heavenly. The last time it had pumpernickel breadcrumbs yum! I had the faux foi gras(yay no tortured ducks) and it was not only beautiful but delicious. Then I recently tried the tofu appetizer which was equally delightful.. hope it stays on the menu a while, I love tofu done well. I've also had glazed carrots with hummus, trout, and brussel sprouts.. all top notch. Great wine selection and well made mixed drinks. Definitely my new favorite spot. There also appears to be extra seating at the back of the restaurant. The menu is small but has plenty of selections, both small and large bites as they call them. Our server, who was very friendly and pleasant as well as the other staff, took our drink orders and let us know what the fish was for the evening. We decided to order the sourdough bread, French onion soup, and two burgers with fries. This is a very relaxed atmosphere, a little in the dark side, and the seating was very tight between tables given the size of the restaurant but we adjusted the table and made it work. The bread arrived hot from the oven with their house butter which I couldn't quite figure out was in it. Almost seemed sweet as if it was a maple syrup base but can't say for sure. The bread was incredible and didn't last long. The French onion soup arrived in a large bowl with a number of crispy croutons and plenty of onions. The soup was very tasty with a little bit of a bit to it. The croutons were a very nice touch as they stayed crispy ti the soup was gone. The burgers arrived hot off the grill with large baskets of very crispy French fries. The burgers were large, cooked medium as requested, with nice slices of Grafton maple smoked cheese, bacon jam. Lettuce, and Dijon mustard. The burgers are very thick and the roll is soft and grilled nicely. The fries, which were right out of the flyer, stayed crispy through the whole meal. There are a couple of steps up into the restaurant so if you have mobility issues it might be a little bit of a challenge. All in all a great little restaurant with incredible food and great service. The next time we're in the area there may be a return trip.

They have a great selection of menu items. Their beer, wine & cocktail list was very well rounded. The interior is decorated in a warm eclectic theme. I just grabbed a beer. I settled on a Moroccan lamb over noodles but was surprised when I was served a small soup bowl of stew. It had a 1-2 Tbs of clear celluphane noddles at the bottom. While it was solidly good, It was $14- which I found to be exorbitant for the item & serving size. It didn't even come with bread of any kind. I then ordered a house made pretzel $10- which came in a single braided format 10-12 inches long. It arrived with 2 ramekins of cheese sauce & stone ground mustard. I opted for the mustard. I did not care for the cheese sauce. It was okay but I was definitely not bowled over by it. Overall, I just wasn't too impressed with this place. The service was solidly good. The vibe & interior is solidly good. The food was fine but not great. I felt the prices for the items were just too high. They do have a happy hour with a burger & a beer for $12-? I can't actually remember the exact price). I recommend coming for their happy hour when prices are more reasonable.
