FINALLY! An amazing fresh to order sandwich shop to stop and grab sandwiches before hanging out on the beach! We couldn't have been happier! Their bread is fresh (and to die for) I had the Wipe Out, it was like my favorite cold cut sandwich but with the addition of some yummy sauce and kalamata olives. My husband had the Red/White/Blue steak sandwich, a philly sandwich with a fun addition of blue cheese and Franks Red Hot. Everything was made fresh in a very timely manner. Our little girls both had smoothies, I must admit we stole some from them. Not only delicious but healthy too. They were priced extremely reasonably at $3.71 each actually! (Not that their is a Jamba juice on the peninsula, but those babies are almost $6 now!) The sandwiches were large. LORDY!! LORDY LORDY!!!! I can't believe this place doesn't have lines and lines of people! The Hubs and I were wondering around Long Beach over the Memorial Day Weekend looking for something to eat. We came across the Surfer Sands that had a big sign out front that said CHEESE STEAK SANDWICHES Me being a LOOOOOOOOOVER of a good cheese steak and knowing good ones are hard to find I was skeptical at his little shack at the beach. I said to The Hubs "what the hell, let's try it" This place is just a small walk up with a huge parking lot and some picnic tables out front. OH MY LORD! This was one of the finest cheese steak sandwiches I have had in a long time. Dripping with gooey cheese, onions and mushrooms and plenty of nummy steak, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The Hubs had his with green peppers and said it was awesome also. I didn't hear a word from him for about 15 minutes and it's possible he didn't breath that whole time. It must have been good! From that day forward every time we drove by this place we contemplated stopping again. We finally stopped again and got a sandwich when we were headed out of town. We couldn't go by another time without stopping. They had a large selection of sandwiches if cheese steak isn't your thing and I bet they are all just as wonderful. There is a little pizza place next door. I don't know if they are owned by the same owners but if they are .............I bet everything is delicious! Very good sandwiches. They claim to have authentic Philly cheesesteaks but being from PA I couldn't really believe it so I went for a cold sandwich. The bread was really good and after being on vacation for a few days it was nice to eat something quick and familiar. While I was at work the other day, I had mentioned how I was getting sick of the same old thing, sick and tired of having the same old kind of sandwiches. And my coworker told me about the surfer Sands in Long Beach. They had asked if I had ever had a "goofy foot" sandwich. I had responded with no what is on that? They told me it was a meatless sandwich that was so good and hearty you would feel like you had ate a meaty one. Cream cheese, pineapple, apples, walnuts, raisins, crasins, and lettuce and provolone cheese. Three slices of provolone cheese I might add! When they first started telling me about the sandwich I thought "well that just sounds weird". But then I was intrigued by it and I asked where I could get one and they had directed me to this place. As soon as I got my break I went to my yelp app and looked it up! Told my mother-in-law that we needed to try it and about three days later found myself having the goofy foot sandwich! I was not disappointed in it, it was very good sized and a very good price. I cannot wait to have another one and to try some of the other sandwiches on the menu.
