It's so hard to find vegetarian food to go so I decided to hit this place up and see what was yummy. I'll give them that it was a busy Friday afternoon, but the staff wasn't super friendly or helpful. I asked if all the sandwiches were warm and was told yes, requested one and she all but snapped at me "that one isn't warm" um, ok then.... I opted for the veggie cheesesteak, seemed like a safe bet. It was ok. The bred was very soft, but also super dry. Like without the veggies you couldn't really eat it dry. Veggies were ok, throughly cooked but almost to the point of being mush. I guess that's better than way under. There wasn't much cheese and it was a cheesesteak so that was odd. But it was just about $10, and the portion was large so they get points for that. Very basic sodas in cans for drinks and no sides from what I could tell. The place wasn't super clean, which could be expected from a roadside food stand like this, but they definitely could have done more. And their restrooms weren't working, which I found odd. There are better food trucks in town, so I probably won't venture here again. But he definitely had worse, so there's that.

"Banana" cheesesteak
Justin S.

Great food! As someone who grew up eating some of the best cheesesteaks out there, in New Jersey, I can say that this was a pretty good spot. The "banana" cheesesteak with its banana peppers, was really really good; and that horseradish sauce hit the spot. The only real feedback I had was that the sandwich was a little too bread, but I did love how they seared the top of the sandwich as well.

Wipe out- no tomatoes

We tried several sandwiches and every single one was amazing--so fresh and full of flavor! You can really tell the quality in every bite. My absolute favorite was the Wipe Out... SO good, I'm already craving it again! Highly recommend trying a few because you honestly can't go wrong.

Consistently great food over many years with decent staff and great prices. They bring it straight to your car. One of the best places to get consistently great food.

Malibu sandwich and cup of clam chowder

This place is a great staple in Long Beach. Hours are reliable and they take credit cards! The clam chowder is different than most- peppery and savory. My mom said it's the best she's had in a long time. Lots of vegetarian choices, both hot and cold. They also have great smoothies and their bread is baked fresh each day. Definitely give this place a try and enjoy your food outside or take it for a picnic!

Crasins, pineapple, apples, and cashews in a sandwich? I'm honestly not sure why this works, but it does. We love a good vegetarian menu moment and happened upon this gem after visiting Cape Disappointment. No disappointments here! I'm vegetarian and I ordered the Goofy Foot with jalapeños and it almost knocked my socks right off. My friend got the Big Kahuna with jalapeños as it was recommended by another reviewer! :) We were both super happy with our choices and agreed we'd likely be here 4 times a week if we lived in the area!

Showed up on a Monday afternoon, internet search said the place was open but it was closed IRL. Maybe seasonal hours. I'm sure the food is good, I really was excited to try this place. Maybe try calling before you drive all the way there and see a sign posted in the window that it's closed. Small town adventures and life lessons in food planning and having some grace with everyone is what I enjoyed from Surfer Sands.

Quite delicious very tasty at a good value for your buck. I definitely go back and try something else next time I'm up that way.

What a delicious fast-casual little biscuit place!…read more We were driving through the area on a coastal road trip and we're craving vegetarian biscuits and gravy... which can be so very (very) hard to find. We did some searching and came across Seaview Biscuit Company and not only did they have vegetarian gravy but their gravy doesn't have mushrooms which is my hubbys least favorite kind haha. It's an onion gravy. We also got a biscuit on the side (which comes with butter, jam, and honey) as well as some scrambled eggs. You can also order breakfast sandwiches (including a vegan option!!!), sweet biscuits with Nutella, and more! They have a little coffee bar where you can get drip coffee, espresso etc. they also have juice and hot cocoa, too You order at the counter and they drop off to your table. Everyone working was having so much fun and were so nice and welcoming. You can sit inside or they have a few tables outside, too. Highly recommend when you're in the area!!

After my daughter brought home some huge, fluffy, and amazing biscuits 4 months ago, I couldn't wait to visit in person. I tried the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit today. It was good and hot, but notably smaller and less fluffy than the ones we had before. The service here is excellent--the waitstaff is incredibly sweet and pleasant. The dining area is quite tight, though we lucked out and caught it at a quiet time. I really do hope they bring back those giant, fluffy biscuits!

The dining room was busy, but we were seated right away at a two top table near the kitchen door. Our server was extremely busy and took a long time to get to us. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the lite portion of sauteed calamari with Cajun seasoning. I chose the steamed vegetables as my side and a pleasant little side salad with shrimp as my starter (ranch dressing was good). The calamari were wet. Spicy yes, with some butter in the ramekin, but mostly just soggy and rubbery. The steamed vegetables ($2 upcharge) were also wet, just plain, steamed with zero seasoning and much improved when I added some butter and salt. I would prefer sliced carrots over these commercial bagged shreds that are difficult to eat. The broccoli was cooked perfectly though. Well, this certainly was a low carb lunch if nothing else. Husband had the cod sandwich with coleslaw and a cup of chowder. He was very excited about his fish sandwich, it was a big piece of cod battered and fried, on a nice big bun with some lettuce underneath. It came with coleslaw which is not his favorite but he did not substitute. It also came with a nice pickle wedge. The chowder was good, if a little thin. We paid the bill at the counter, where two young men were just hanging out. Have them help the servers, they are too busy to do a proper job and these two need something to do. I guess this restaurant is a locals favorite, I'm glad they are doing well but it was not the best meal I had in Long Beach.

We arrived before 5:00 pm, and it took a while to even put an order in. Even though we were sitting in the bar and there were a LOT of servers/bussers/etc. We ordered the Mushroom burger, the Chicken Bacon Guac burger and the Prime Rib Dip. Let's start with the pros - the Chicken Bacon Guac burger was pretty good! But the Prime Rib Dip had something like shredded meat on it, not sliced meat. So, when you dipped it in the Au jus, chunks of meet fell into the Au jus. Be ready to fish them out with a fork! The Mushroom burger was an exceptionally thin burger. Our server asked how we wanted it cooked. But it didn't matter. A burger that thin was coming out well done, no matter what. It had mushrooms on it, but not many at all. And we ordered the Cajun Tater Tots. Tonight, it was just like someone cooked tater tots, then shook some seasoning on them, and maybe the lid fell off the seasoning? They were drenched in some kind of Cajun-adjacent spice. We had recently been telling visiting guests that the Lost Roo was the one consistent, reasonably priced restaurant on the peninsula. We're going to have to stop telling people that now. Sadly, it'll be a while before we go back.
