I have been a long time SureFire CPR student in the past, because let's face it their instructors are current, and former healthcare professionals that are working out in the field day in and day out. With that said you know you're getting the best knowledge and real life lessons possible. Now where the one star comes in, is MANAGEMENTS DECISION making. That has had me go elsewhere for my recertification and certification needs. I'm not writing this out of anger or frustration or looking for a pity party or a discount on my next course. I'm writing this review to simply state how my positive and good impression of SureFire CPR has turned negative and directed me towards other places that offer more. I interviewed for an instructor position once before and NEVER heard back from the hiring Manager (Nick Pellerin) even after he gave me an estimate of when to hear back from him. After multiple calls and emails, I get an email from him basically saying we're sorry but thank you for your time. Months later I decided, "let's apply again" so I did that, I mean I have current 911 experience and within the hospital setting (currently) so what can't I bring to the table right? Once again Nick contacts me after I upload a more accurate resume and then radio silence for at least a week. It's been a month an a half since this last application and once again just received an email this time stating they are fully staffed. Well that's just unfortunate for both sides. Customer/student lost and like wildfire, words spreads pretty quickly. read more

Wonderful learning environment, friendly staff, and easy to find location. ACLS is challenging but they help you to understand the concepts, review in a positive team building scenario, and provide feedback when you could do things better. This is the second time I have used SureFire CPR and I have to say, they got it going on! Very well organized courses, which are engaging! Last course I took was the fire course and it was great. Their low stress environment prepared you for the quick test at the end of the course, TRUST ME, YOU WILL PASS!! The instructor was great too! After attending a class at the Orange location this week for my initial ACLS certification, I can say with certainty that SureFire will be my go-to for all of my future recerts! From a payment hiccup (NOT due to an error on SureFire's part) to completing the training, I was impressed! My nursing school made an error, resulting in extra charges to me when I scheduled class. It happened over a weekend, and assuming that no one would be there to help me out on a Saturday, I decided not to reach out until the following Monday. Within a few hours of my scheduling request, the team contacted me to let me know that they had already refunded me to correct the error and thanked me for my patience... HOW DID THEY EVEN KNOW THERE WAS A PROBLEM??? From this point forward, I knew I was working with a professional organization. The read-ahead materials were super helpful, the expectations for the work required before class were clear with easy-to-follow instructions, and checking in was beyond easy. The class was provided by Austen, a clearly experienced and professional medic who was inviting, encouraging, down-to-earth, and excellent at presenting the material. His instructional techniques reflected his experience and offered multiple ways to understand and retain the information. He was thorough and engaging, making class the opposite of the anticipated boring lecture and more of a collaborative and entertaining use of our time. Yes, you read that correctly, entertaining. One might not expect to laugh and enjoy a class about trying to save lives, but with Austen at the helm, a very serious subject was covered without melodrama. Because of my experience with SureFire's ACLS class, I've already made my list of future classes that I'll be attending to help prepare me for my future career. I will also use SureFire for my future recertification needs, as spending hours being lectured on a third-grade level, even for free through my place of employment, sounds like as much fun as slamming my finger in a car door. I'll pay the (quite competitive) fee to attend a SureFire session where the instruction will be provided on an adult level, and the focus will be on how to apply the information in the real world, as opposed to the standard 'here's what you need to pass the test and nothing else' approach. SureFire sent Joey R out to my facility to teach PALS recertification today and I was thoroughly impressed! I've been attending PALS classes for multiple years and this was by far the best. Joey created a wonderful and comfortable learning environment. He was the first instructor I have ever had who taught tips to approaching rhythms so that we could identify them easily. Most other places just want you to memorize the rhythms which can be hard. Loved the use of multiple teaching modalities and technology to ensure all different learning styles are covered. 100% recommended!! read more

Did an ECG and Pharmacology class prior to taking an initial ACLS class for nursing. Will is a great instructor, knowledgeable as a working healthcare professional which he was able to to impart to us his experiences in a fun, easy-to-understand manner. Went to the Corona location, and check-in process was smooth. Covid-19 safety measures were in place. David, the instructor, was amazing! He was friendly and enthusiastic. His explanations were easy to understand. He is an expert on what he does as he has years of experiences on the field. You watch videos, do hands-on experiences, run a code, and take the post-test. This is very similar in other practices/classroom settings that offer this type of skill set. You walk out of that place feeling confident in your ability to save a life, if ever needed. Refreshments and snacks were offered in the back. This was really nice to keep us hydrated and awake throughout the day. read more

I have used SureFire since graduating from nursing school in 2016; all my renewals have been with them. There are other classes that are available to me and more convenient, but I choose them every time. I have been to the Laguna and Orange locations, love both. My most recent renewal reminded me how much I love going to their classes. I recently got in a car accident and have been having trouble with transportation and my back injury, I probably rescheduled twice. They were understanding and the rescheduling was an easy process. The instructors are always pleasant, knowledgeable, and make the class interactive. They are first responders themselves. The offices are always clean and well maintained. The Orange front office staff are nice as well. Information and resources are up to date. They always have a class available, convenient to anyone's work-life schedule. See y'all again in 2 years! I LOVE coming to SureFire for all of my certifications. I am an RN and have been renewing my certifications for the last three years. All the instructors are very knowledgable and it shows through their experience and story telling. Going through SureFire CPR to renew my Basic Life Saving certification was convenient and easy! I was able to complete the education and training portion online, in my own time. The online module is great because the modules are customized based on your current knowledge and abilities. The better you do answering questions and showing proficiency, the faster the training goes. It also asks how confident you are in your answers and uses this to guide the training. If there are areas you know less about or are less confident about, the training provides more time and education. The in-person assessment was thorough and efficient. My instructor provided quick training and knowledge checks, we completed our hands on testing, and we were done in less than 20 minutes. Overall I was able to complete my BLS certification quickly and easily, on my own time, and feel confident in my abilities thanks to SureFire! read more

She was patient with the class and communicated in a way we'd understand. 4 hours for BLS CPR didn't seem that long bc it went by so fast. I'd def recommend this place to anyone. I got discount through my school. I decided this location out of the 3. Lots of parking. Old building. Smells old and crusty. Coffee and snacks provided if you get the munchies. 25Q rest, must only miss 4 to pass. Take notes. It's hands on. Easy to ask Q's. Also, leave nice review for instructor's. Receptionist was nice as well. Arrive on time. 15 minutes late/ your dropped from the class. Also, you get your CPR card as an e-card literally 2-3 hours after class! Absolutely loved the orange location. When I originally signed up, I found out about a week later that I couldn't make it. I called in and got an answering machine thinking no one would call me back. NOPE, not the case. Within about 15 minutes I had a call back and she rescheduled me over the phone. She gave me a whole list of dates and times that were convenient for me and then I was even able to choose a back to back class for my Hospital Fire Safety and BLS. For my Hospital Fire Safety I had Trent! He was fantastic and very thorough with his information. He used a Captain America dummy and I think this really kept me more engaged.(Disclaimer: Hospital Fire Safety is not very hands on). Then for the BLS I had Jaime. Congrats to Jaime for making it into the Fire Department! Jaime was great for a mid to late afternoon class. He kept a us laughing and very interactive with one another. He was really precise on making sure we had good form as well. Hopefully he will still be there when you guys sign up!His class is a must take! They both are really! (Disclaimer: BLS is very hands on). Overall the environment was laid back, they provide snacks, tea, coffee and water so you are pretty set for the day. I recommend if you have to do two classes for school like I did, you just do it in a full day so it's out of the way. read more
