He is uplifting, kept my attention, and teaches BLS comprehensively and applicably. The class resources are accessible and useful in practice. The curriculum is in line with AHA guidelines. The cost is the most reasonable of the many I searched. As a plus, the location and classroom are visually amazing and comfortable. Parking appears to be metered street parking and paid public parking, so they do not validate. There is a public parking lot connected to the rear of the building for a fee of about 5 to 20 dollars. My class was on a Saturday, so there was plenty of parking. Plan to be there on time, as you may need to wait at the entrance door on Colorado Blvd, where the host will meet and show you to the classroom. I registered for this class directly through the American Red Cross website. I recommend this class and educator and will return.

I was in need of a BLS class ASAP per my job. i yelp local places and to my surprise i saw Pico Rivera CPR was open late everyday (10pm i think). Called the day before and Gerardo pick up the phone in the second ring. he answer all my questions. pricing was great. i was able to come in and complete my course the following day, and get my card the same day...no waiting like other places. The hands on practice was nice he has the infant and adult mannequins also the mannequins had lights on them to let you know whether you are doing the right thing on the compressions. The building in itself is only 2 floors & it looks like it's built in the 1970's because it appears it has that original yellow green paint from that era. But in all honesty, what matters is what is being offered. It's a small class of only 6 students (could accommodate up to 10) in a small classroom. Nicole, our instructor is a Respiratory Therapist by trade & is confident & knowledgeable in her teaching the class. No muss no fuss. Its STRESS FREE---entirely the reason I opted to elect this place instead of taking it at my job site. It is not economically sound but I value my comfort over anxiety if I am to do recertification every 2 years! We were shown videos/instructions in addition to her teaching & the CPR dummies are provided for demonstration & we paired up to demonstrate skills. It was performed at ease & it is what I appreciated. Most importantly, Nicole made herself available for questions & clarifications with the post test--thank goodness. Once again, easy-peasy lemon squeezey, loved this portion! Will definitely return & recommend this site. *****CAUTION****** **NOT HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE** I had to take the stairs with my bum knee (LOL). Hey it was okay, I just took my time. She also makes sure everyone understands what is going on. She is a great teacher and for both courses I was the only new person getting certified, but the people who also take her courses create a very welcoming environment. I'm not even local, but I will continue to come back for recertification. I recommend her courses 100%!!

I waited a while in the front lobby to be assisted, but no one was there. As I spoke up to see if I could be assisted, an older lady SLOWLY approached me with a serious face & asked what I was there for. I told her I was there for. 9am class but that unfortunately I had gotten lost on my way over. She said they had a 15mins Grace period, so I said ok, it has not been 15mins so if it was ok for me to join the class. She then stood there and looked at me. I had to ask if she could ask, she then walked SLOWLY over to the class and asked, & she stated they would no longer take me. Why then say they have a 15minute grace period, when in reality they don't. Makes no sense! I understand I was late, however I was still within the "grace period " Whatever !.. will definitely NOT be recommending nor will I ever return to this place!

Found this place with a quick google search for IV therapy and blood withdrawal certification near…read moreme. Followed that up with Yelp and saw the extensive amount of 5-star reviews. Was I a bit skeptical? Yes lol especially since their pricing is a bit higher than other certification classes. Here is my opinion. This place is definitely worth every single 5-star review you see and read. Dr. Khan and Sylvia who teaches and runs the training classes are so friendly and knowledgeable. They provide you with all the information and skills needed to become board certified. They answer all your questions and never make you feel less for asking them. They prepare you mentally prior and guide you from start to finish on each technique needed from blood withdrawal, setting up an IV line and providing IV therapy. Then they observe your retention knowledge to be able to perform without instructions. Along with educating us on different types of equipment we might come across while working in the field. The classes are fairly small and intimate which makes the learning experience that much more enjoyable as you get to know the other students training along side you. Yes the price is higher than other training facilities, but definitely worth it. Honestly you're paying for great instructors, small class groups, night classes, and realistically; medical supplies are expensive. With that, they still provide you with a tracking number to track your certification to the board as well. This is where you say, you're paying for quality over quantity. Other than providing IV/BW therapy certification. They offer other approved AHA classes like BLS, ACLS, and even an extensive NCLEX refresher prep course. Worth checking out for a great experience.

Text or call her just tell her you're interested or need CPR/AED training, so you can make an appointment. Complete with all the tools you need, you get your CPR card at the end of class.
