Instructors are exceptionally knowledgeable & forthcoming with educational information, engaging & ensures questions are answered. Highly recommended this business run by a retired nurse educator & her sons (since 1984). Students (us) are each given time to demonstrate hands on CPR using dummies & also using an AED. In all the years that I've recertified, I've not encountered an instructor like Lea, so energetic & passionate about teaching. She's additionally given many FYI's & fascinating tidbits of real-life situations to incorporate into the lessons. We watched videos to enhance our refresher course. Joey was our BLS instructor (Lea's son), he is also an excellent teacher. This was a referral from one of my co-workers & I'm glad I chose them over my over instructors in Whittier. The communication was through emails & they even texted the students the day before to remind about this upcoming class. It's on the 2nd floor & this building has a designated free parking. However, I was confused in finding the actual entrance since it has a water label on the front door , but that's the place lol. The instructor was a 1:4 ration when I did my session. Mannequins were provided to practice CPR & other rescue treatment. Once you're done you receive your AHA card via email in 1-2 days.

I came in with 0 knowledge on how to use tools or troubleshoot HVAC units. I got to work with 2 great instructors which were Mr. Jorge R. The classes were very fast usually lasting 7-8 hours on Saturdays and I believe 4 hours if you decide to take the weekday schedules. I really think it's important that people take this, cause you'll never know when someone is gonna be in need, and you can be that person that saves someone's life. The class cost about $100 and I felt accomplished after taking the course. CPR is harder than it looks, and I'm sure if the time ever came where I needed to perform it, it would be nerve wracking.

My experience at RCI was a unique combination of challenging and rewarding…read more I recently completed the MLT program and was board certified shortly afterwards. Without a doubt, this was one of the most challenging experiences for me in academia, and I have an advanced degree in Biology. So, whatever you do, do not take this program lightly. The material covered is very comprehensive, with certain aspects mirroring year one of medical school. Given the duration of the program, there will unquestionably be times when you're overcome by the sheer volume of material covered in such a short time frame. Whatever you do, **don't get discouraged.** Stay the course. Rest assured, the staff at RCI are there to support you as best as they can. Because your success is a direct reflection of them-- their ability to ensure you are well prepared for the board exam and will make a positive contribution to the medical community at large. You see, everyone has a common goal here. The goal is for you to succeed. Outstanding experience overall. But again, this is far from easy. While the role is that of technician, this is not an "on the surface" academic program. The demand is great, and the bar is high. Although, you've been given somewhat of a head start seeing as the support system at RCI is stellar. The instructors and laboratory training are top tier. What's more, there is an underlying kindness that reverberates throughout the RCI campus fostering a strong sense of hope. But... RCI can only go so far. Be prepared to put in the work.
