I am a special ed teacher and for the first time in 20 years of taking cpr I felt like I knew more than the instructor. Maggie was very cookie cutter, I could've got a better training while watching online videos. I took this class at Hands to Heart CPR 2 years ago at a different location with a different instructor - A.J. - this was night and day compared to the first time I took the class. The first time was enjoyable, funny and well guided -- this time it was like pulling teeth. Last time, I felt like I had a new understanding and perception. This time I couldn't wait for the class to end. My experience 2 years ago is the reason i decided to return to hands to heart. BIG MISTAKE! A.J. catered to my schedule and met me early in the morning to do my class. This time, I had a very limited number of classes to chose from. Had I known A.J. was no longer with the company and that the level of quality had dropped I would not have paid to take this class. I know 2 or 3 companies who charge less than hands to heart cpr but i was okay paying more for quality. Now the quality is gone and all the is left is a stale class. Our teachers are required to have current CPR/1st Aid certification so we like to offer an annual training at the studio to make the process easier. A few months ago, one of our assistant managers found Hands to Heart CPR and she had a great experience. She passed their info on to me and I called to set up the training. AJ (the owner) and Norman (one of the instructors) were wonderful. The time flew by with lots of discussions, practice, pertinent information and surprisingly, laughter. These guys know what they are doing and they do it well. Many of our Yoga teachers have been re-newing certifications for a number of years and there was anonymous agreement that this was the best experience yet. I took the CPR + First Aid course to fulfill the requirements for my caregiving job. (I care for a young man with Autism and Cerebral Palsy.) The instructors (George and Tatyana) were both very knowledgeable and helpful, but also fast, which I appreciated! George taught the CPR portion of the class while Tatyana handled the First Aid segments. They both have a relaxed but speedy style that kept the class moving, but they're also very approachable so it was easy to stop and ask questions when needed. The class size was kinda small... about 5 people... and all of us had taken First Aid and CPR before, so they took that into account and it helped move the class along. I've taken these courses countless times with other instructors over the years and I'd definitely return here for my next certification, or recommend them to others. read more

The class I attended recently in Burbank was phenomenal. I recommend this place to anyone who is interested in learning CPR. Not only was I able to complete my mission of learning this very important life saving solution, I actually got more than I bargained for when I was able to stay a few minutes after and discuss a few more "tricks of the trade" with the owner. I asked him about a few techniques I recently saw on TV. Hands to Heart is not out to make a quick dollar and send people their merry way. I was referred to Maggie and Jose at Hands to Heart CPR by my manager. As soon as I called to make an appointment and spoke with them on the phone, I knew they were a wonderful facility - extremely friendly people. Making an appointment was easy and convenient, the course itself was excellent and very reasonably priced. Jose provided phenomenal instructions, brilliant metaphors and examples to help us understand the skills, and he was funny and quick-witted to boot! This is definitely not the place to get friendly CPR training. The staff here is rude and obnoxious they give off a feeling of entitlement. They fail to answer the necessary questions and rush you Thru the course so they can make the most money out of their time. They do not care about their customers at all. We showed up on time but we were made to wait so long after our scheduled start time. I had to get back to work and their disorganization made me extremely late. Had a wonderful experience with my Pediatric CPR + First Aid class with Hands to Heart CPR! The student/instructor ratio was 2:1, so I had the opportunity to ask any and every question that came to mind while training. My instructor, Maggie, patiently and thoughtfully answered every single question I could throw at her. This class worked out really good for me and for what I needed to learn. It gave me a lot of confidence and prepared me to use it in this job that I've applied for in the healthcare facility. I took the CPR / AED class and was really impressed with how informative and engaging it was. The class included hands-on practice with adult, child, and infant mannequins, as well as how to use an AED. This place is amazing!!! And George is the best CPR instructor ever!!! Not only is he super knowledgeable but he makes the class super fun and keeps you laughing the entire time.
