What a wonderful instructor and incredibly informative class! My husband and I attended Richard's Infant CPR class at Mother's Haven this week and I am so grateful to have found it. It was important to me to find an in-person offering for CPR in a world where everything has shifted to virtual. It was so great to sit in community with other expectant parents and most importantly, get to practice CPR on an actual doll. The class went beyond standard CPR and taught us a lot about general safety and adult-saving measures. You can tell Richard is very passionate about imparting wisdom to his students and potentially saving little lives. He has extensive experience as an RN, working in hospitals for many years and was happy to answer questions. He shared a lot of helpful information about Los Angeles area hospitals and which ones have pediatric ICUs and burn units. We walked away with so much more than standard CPR. As a new mom and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist I was adamant that my family take a pediatric life support class when I returned to work. I have personally taken countless advanced life support classes for my profession, so I was interested to see how Richard would teach my family and neighbors who are not medical professionals. Richard was very knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged. He brought several mannequins of different ages so everyone could get hands on experience. I was expecting instruction on basic CPR and choking, but the class included so much more information about things like burns and drowning that every parent and caregiver should know. Lastly, having a private group class at our house was the best idea, especially during covid times. Attendees always comment on how professional the instructors are and how much they learn. Whereas some CPR companies just try to get thorough the material quickly, you can tell that the instructors through Save a Little Life truly care about equipping each student with life-saving skills. We particularly appreciate how each instructor is a working nurse - that is so rare and makes all the difference in the world. I hosted a CPR class for my family at my house. My husband and I are having our first baby in a couple of weeks and wanted anyone that was going to be with the baby regularly to be trained in CPR, choking, and overall safety. I highly recommend anyone with children sign up for this class. Terance was our instructor and he was absolutely amazing! He made the class enjoyable and fun, while also taking all issues seriously. He was patient and flexible with us when we were asking questions in the middle of each topic. My wife and I attended a class last week with our son & daughter-in-law who will be first time parents in 3 weeks. I've been thru CPR training several times in Boy Scouts, etc. This class presented the current thinking on infant/young children safety and how to deal with life threatening emergencies. The information was presented not to scare you, but to prepare you for dealing with the worst possible scenarios and how important time is. I came away feeling much more prepared for dealing not only with our soon to be grandson, but with adult issues as well. Richard also makes what looks like an excellent emergency "kit" that we plan to buy from him. He also gives you excellent handouts and many tidbits of information. This class is a must for all people who may find themselves in charge of children. read more

We hosted a CPR class at our house for 8 of our family members and it was wonderful!! I booked it last minute (the day before) and they were able to accommodate us. Richard was extremely thorough, informative and easy to listen to. He customized the session to the needs of our group (we have family members with both infants and toddlers). We each got infant dolls and toddler-sized dolls to practice on and learned very practical, easy to remember techniques to use in the event of an emergency. This is SUCH a crucial skill for any parent, care taker/nanny, grandparent etc to know. I hope we never need to use what we learned, but I feel MUCH more confident in my ability to react to an emergency situation after taking the class. Richard was wonderful! We hosted a CPR class for six adults (and two babies) and he handled the chaos like a pro! The class was easy to understand, didn't have too much information thrown at you in a way you couldn't process it all, and was quite enjoyable. The practice sessions were great as Richard intentionally heightened your stress level so you could try to feel the anxiety and stress you would feel during a real crisis. It helped to work through being flustered. He also sells first aid kits which we bought. Perfect for those parents that will never get around to making their own. ;) It's a bit pricey, but we did a private home session so we went the more expensive route. Can you really put a price tag on safety though? :) Highly recommended! read more

Richard's CPR class for infants/toddlers is the best I've ever taken. It's the only one that I've completed with a feeling of total confidence that I could competently handle an emergency situation with an infant/toddler/young person. He was excellent at repeating and placing emphasis on the most important points, and as he said, simplifying and streamlining what we really need to remember and take away from a CPR course. Richard shared about personal experiences with CPR, and experiences of former class attendees, in a way that was poignant and really helpful.
