Nice depth of flavor and doesn't taste super gamey. Some pieces were a bit fatty so just be aware. Beef noodle soup had a really nice flavor profile also! The big chicken dish was good, but the potatoes came out a bit hard, and it's not my favorite to eat a lot of chicken with bone-in pieces. My partner loved this however. We also got the hot lemon honey tea and a passionfruit yogurt drink. Liked both- the lemon honey drink was super sweet though, and I think you'll like the yogurt drink if you like kefir. Will definitely be back!

Paired with the green and white sauces they provide, it was definitely the star of the dinner for me. I could easily eat 2-3 of these by myself The roasted goat cutlet was also really good. It was a little on the fatty side, but I actually liked the crispy, slightly charred ends--it gave the meat a nice texture and flavor. Overall, everything was flavorful and satisfying. But if I came back, I'd definitely be ordering the sambusa again!

Today, I decided to order the Chicken Fajitas, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Without a doubt, it was the most delicious fajitas dish I have ever had. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the vegetables were cooked just right, and all the flavors came together beautifully. Everything was cooked to perfection. The portion size was very generous, and the sides were fantastic. The guacamole, sour cream, Spanish rice, and black beans were all fresh, flavorful, and complemented the meal perfectly. I've always enjoyed the food here, but from now on the Chicken Fajitas will definitely be my regular order. Well-deserved 5 stars. Thank you, El Halal Amigos!

Hey there Party People…read more El Halal Amigos is a hole in the wall joint that was on "Diners Drive-in & Dives". So my expectations were high and I was a little bit disappointed. The restaurant itself was clean and had a very small amount of indoor seating. If you are going to come here make sure it's a Tuesday ( Tacos are $2). I got the Carne Asada Nar-Chos. I very much enjoyed them. The balance was perfect between cheese, guacamole and meat. Every chip was covered in something delicious. There was a decent amount of jalapeños so the heat was there. I would get these again and again. Where the restaurant fell short was with the Chile Relleno Burrito. We were expecting the ooyee gooyee cheese burrito we had seen on TV and it was very very far from it. Hubby is a major Chile Relleno connoisseur and to him it was average at best. Chips and Salsa were average flavor wise. But they were free so that was a plus. Since we went on a Tuesday we tried the taco special. The Street tacos were very tasty. They had a great freshness the meat was juicy and very well seasoned. If you're in the Willow Glen area and are having a taco craving then you should check this place out. But in my opinion the food in general is slightly above average. I actually would give this place 3 1/2 stars but the app doesn't allow it. Be kind to one another

In fact, he was serving the food to everyone else at the restaurant except for us. When I went up to ask him why the food was taking so long, he handed me the order - all packed to-go, even though we didn't state that we wanted our order to-go EXCEPT for the manakish. He said he'd make our food again, but just handed the two bowls in their to-go containers without the lid, and hastily placed the wrap on a plate. The manakish was also plated, even though that was something we wanted to-go. The cashier claimed that he'd make a new manakish for us, but it turns out he lied and didn't do so! There was no accountability, apology, or consolation from ANY of the restaurant staff. In fact, they were just standing around in the kitchen. As for the food, the portions were big but the steak in my bowl was really bland, and there was too much hummus overpowering everything. My dad said his chicken wrap was really dry. The manakish was a bit soggy (because it was sitting in a cardboard box out of the oven for 45 minutes) too. Our total for four items and a frustrating experience was $87. It's like a cross between a western style bbq joint and a middle eastern twist with its meats and food. Turns out, this place is mainly an Afghan restaurant! I ordered their chili lamb kabob which was tender and juicy. It had lots of flavor from the spices but enough to where it wasn't overwhelming. I ordered it on top of a pillow of rice which was fluffy and buttery textured. It was delicious. There are sauce bottles to pair with the meats which is my favorite part. I really liked their white creamy yogurt sauce mixed with their red house chili sauce. It gave my lamb meat so much flavor and some heat. I loved my order and will definitely order two next time. I also want to try their steaks. They take their time grilling their meats so orders can take a short while. It's worth it for sure. No complaints here but I do wish they played some light music in the background for some ambiance. Things can be real quiet in here so it can be awkward dining in. Other than that, I really like this place and will be back for more.

I was kicking myself after leaving for not remembering to ask for no onion, only to discover that, thankfully, they didn't put raw onion on it! Food did take a little bit to come out though, so I'd guess that if it's more crowded, you should be prepared to wait. Parking is a bit of a pain as they only have street parking and there's only enough seating for ~20-ish people at a time. The menu is pretty small, but pricing isn't bad as the wraps are pretty big. I will say everyone who LOVES this place said I missed out by skipping the fries, so that might've been the missing star. Chicken Wrap (Rabieh Style): Wrap was nicely toasted and the chicken is perfectly seasoned with a nice bit of caramelization. The garlic toum is sharp and the cheese added the perfect amount of salt. White sauce with the hot sauce add both creaminess and a bunch, all in all it's a good shawarma wrap. I don't know if I'd travel out of my way to try this, but if I was local, I could see being a regular.
