This is a hole in the wall with good authentic Ethiopian food. There was only one man there who waited on us and cooked the food. He was super nice, we had a bit of a language challenge communicating with each other but his graciousness translated well. I got an Ethiopian beer which was refreshing on a hot day and the non-veg combo with injira bread was delicious.

The place itself is an extremely casual, hole-in-the-wall, mom&pop kind of place, so expect a very simple decor and homey meal. I phoned in an order for take-out and had their Kitfo "special" (with fresh jalapenos, recommended to me instead of the regular Kitfo) at medium-rare and lamb tibs at a mild spiciness. Communication was slightly rough but eventually got through and the pickup was smooth. The menu is relatively small, but focused on a core set of dishes. Noteworthy is that this place has the most traditional injera I've found in the area so far, as their injera has considerably more teff than wheat (and a notably more sour taste and less volume to it). I can't tell you if it's 100% teff, but it has that distinctive sourness and coloration to say that it's high. It's expensive to import teff flour so most spots will charge a premium for it if it's even offered at all, let alone serve it by default (absolute pro for this place in my mind, but folks may prefer the more common wheat injera). The fact they offer variable spicy level is a departure from most Ethiopian spots I know, but the flavor for the lamb tibs came up a bit short on taste so I can't help but feel this contributed. I will attempt to convince my brother to brave higher heats, but keep this in mind if you modify the heat down. The Kitfo was delicious, but notably quite spicy. They don't hold back when it comes to spiciness level! Each entree had a good portion size and got a good amount of injera to boot. Overall, I happily recommend it as a casual eatery for those looking for traditional injera in their ethiopian meals. Contrary to their name, it'd appear that they're open quite late too.

    Kitfo (medium rare)

We were here on Sunday and ordered Kitfo and Yebeg Tibs to go. Pro: Both dishes were outstanding, both flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend Kitfo (they can be rare, medium-rare, or well done, we got medium-rare) If you can't handle spicy, remember to get non-spicy when they ask. I didn't think Ethiopian food was known for its spicy level, so it took me by surprise how spicy it was (I can handle spicy food BTW). Con: The phone order process was a challenge. I asked for the Goden Tibs (Lunchbox Special), and they said they didn't have it. I then tried to order Kitfo, since I couldn't pronounce it, so I spelled it out for her, but it took a while to get the message crossed. If you are looking for their menu, go to Google and use their menu pics. Overall, although the phone order was a hassle, but overall, loved their food and especially the Kitfo (I would love to try the rare version next time).

Recently discovered this place and it does not disappoint! The restaurant has a small but homey atmosphere and offers a couple unique dishes here that I do not see at other Ethiopian style restaurants as well and different variations of some of my favorite dishes such as the kitfo. The customer service here is great as well as the owner is always present and constantly will check up to see if the food is great. This is my second visit here and the quality and service here has been consistent so far so I hope this establishment will see growth.

I got served rotten food. Veggies were slimy, smelly, and smelled bad. I've never ever had rotten food served. This is so disappointing.

We chose the: - Shiro (chickpeas) - Atkilt (cabbage, carrots, potatoes) - Sigo (berbere and tomato sauce) - Misir Wot (red lentil) - Key Sir (beets) - Difin Misir (brown lentils) Everything was delicious but the stand outs for me were the Sigo and Key sir. The Sigo was so spicy but so rich and the beets were sweet, earthy and savory. I also really enjoyed the injera, it wasn't as sour as other places.

We went as a group of 6 and the staff were incredibly accommodating, including adjusting portion sizing for appetizers and giving us extra injera. The lentil sambussa was very tasty, crispy and surprisingly very savory. We got the Larry Page + Zuckerburg combo and it was more than enough to fill our stomachs. The lamb is FIRE. Everything was well spiced. We ended the night with their tiramisu, which was perfection. Kudos to the chef and this place is definitely a must try. There were a couple things on the menu that they were out of by the time we got there, but that just means we'll have to make another visit!

Sambusas were fantastic - the spiced chicken was flavorful, and puff pastry had a light fluffy crispy texture. LeYou Special was pretty good. My favorites were the fish, chicken, cabbage, and lentils. I do wish it were a bit hotter in temperature as many of them were lukewarm, especially the fish. For dessert we shared the brownie sundae and baklava. Both were pretty small. Not mindblowing but tasty sweet treats to satisfy the sweet tooth if you don't want to go elsewhere for dessert. Glad I got to try LeYou!

I like bread. And I like bread even more when they're stuffed with other stuff. Did this place meet…read moremy standards? Hmmm somewhat. LOCATION: So the store is part of a shared kitchen located in a commercial park. I saw a drug deal go down right in front of me. And by drug deal, I actually mean a Door Dasher picking up his precious cargo. But who knows...there might be drugs hidden in his Door Dash bag instead of food. ORDERING: It is online only. So order before you get there. Or be like me and wait 10-15 minutes for your food at the spot. At least they have comfortable chairs. 10/10. Would smash again. There are 3 different meat-filled sambusas on the menu and I ordered 1 of each type. Oh yeah, the lady running the store gave me an extra sambusa for me having to wait. Very nice of her. Great service. BEEF (Wannabeef): There's seasoned ground beef and bean in the filling. HOWEVER!...the beans almost completely overpowers the taste of the beef. Overall, I liked this, but I would prefer a stronger beef flavor. CHICKEN (Flustercluck, but I call it clusterfuck): There's roasted chicken, corn, and red peppers in the filling. I like the texture of the chicken, but the filling flavor was kinda bland. SHRIMP (Aquatarian): Cot' damn. For only $4.25, this thing packed full of shrimp. By itself, the shrimp has a slightly sweet, caramelized taste, but is way too salty. The acid from the califa or kandake sauce complements this sambusa by balancing out the saltiness. BREAD: I like bread so much that I dedicated a section just for it. The outside was fried and the inside was soft, slightly chewy, and moist. It was very thin. THE 3 SAUCES: (Btw, they're 50 cents a piece. I postponed laundry day so I could use my quarters to pay for the sauces.) CALIFA SAUCE - Similar to Asian sweet and sour sauce, but more watery and more acidic. Has some heat to it. Califa is Arabic for "religious leader" or maybe "king". (That's right...you also get random knowledge in this food review. You're welcome.) KANDAKE SAUCE - I think Kandake means "queen". And just like most women, this sauce is hard to describe and understand. Just kidding #feminism. This is a watery, orange-colored sauce that vinegary and salty. There's some herbs in here. I want to guess dried parsley/oregano, dried peppers, and sumac. ISIS SAUCE - Just by writing about this sauce, I risk getting wire-tapped by the Feds. But I'm doing it for the Yelpers (...and the ratchets). I got ch'yall. This is similar to Greek Tzatziki sauce. It's a white sauce with tart yogurt as the base. I'm gonna guess that Isis means "princess" just to keep with the theme here. Or maybe it's a reference to Egyptian Goddess Isis.

Found this place and was excited to order their Meat Combo which was $18 and came with Doro Wot, Ye Begin Wot, and Kitfo (beef), and a veggie entrée of choice along with some Injera bread. I ordered the Kitfo to be raw and spicy with my choice of vegetarian entree to be lentils. The total came out to about $25 with tax and everything. When I took the food out of the package. I got a tiny portion of one of their stews in two small sections in the to-go box which honestly both tasted the same despite them listing two different wots/stews, and the Kitfo seemed to be in the main part of my box and it WAS FULLY COOKED and DRENCHED IN SALT AND OIL. Even though I ordered the kitfo to not be cooked, which is an option, they still managed to cook it by dumping a gallon of hot oil over it (see picture). 70% of the dish was old oil rather than food. I got no vegetarian entrée as promised and the Kitfo was WAY oversalted and not edible. The two stews were okay, but besides this I felt cheated. I would not recommend anyone order pickup or delivery from this place. You have many other options around you as Ethiopian restaurants have increased in the area. The one review that comes before mine was not factored into the review of this place and is obviously the owner or one of the employees writing the review. There is only one review from that person ever in their Yelp history, and it is obviously promoting this business. Don't be fooled. Pictures are worth a thousand words.
