Cody is the best!! Very professional, great service, and incredibly customer oriented. He was able to install a garbage disposal when I upgraded to a larger sink. Highly recommend Supreme Plumbing for all of your plumbing needs.

Altruistic Heating and Cooling exceeded our expectations during a stressful time…read more When the AC in a rental unit I manage went out during one of the hottest times of the year, I had to act quickly. After discovering that our usual AC guy was unavailable, I gathered estimates from several companies. The prices were shockingly high, so I created a detailed spreadsheet comparing different systems, pricing, discounts, rebates, and warranties. Out of all the companies, Altruistic Heating and Cooling stood out by offering the best price--thousands less than the others. They also went above and beyond by providing a portable AC unit to keep the tenants comfortable until the installation, which was a huge relief. While some companies tried to pressure me with last-minute offers and discounts, Altruistic's straightforward approach and reasonable pricing made the decision easy. They even included a free bonus service of two maintenance calls per year for four years. The installation went smoothly, and although I had to follow up to ensure the job was fully completed, Altruistic responded quickly and finished everything as promised. They had left a note in the final invoice saying, "We need to return some time (date removed) to install the flue pipe." As a property manager, I expect to handle follow-ups, so this wasn't a major issue for me. But I followed up with them to get this done before we made the payment. Although I felt Altruistic had been very trustworthy, I know people who have been burned by other companies after paying in full before the job was completed, so I wanted to make sure it was completely done. Daniel from the office contacted me, and they ensured everything was finished before I made the final payment. Overall, I'm very satisfied with Altruistic Heating and Cooling. They provided excellent service, great value, quality workmanship and their customer service was top-notch. I highly recommend them to anyone needing AC services. Follow-up: months later when winter weather arrived and the heat wasn't coming on, I called them in the evening expecting to hear back the next morning. They called me right away that evening and went out to the property first thing the next morning and fix the problem with no charge. I love it when companies do what they say they'll do and warranty their work.

They took the time to thoroughly clean the condenser and ran multiple tests on the attic unit to make sure everything was operating as it should. What really stood out was how they walked me through the entire process at the end, showing photos and explaining each step. It gave me a lot of confidence in their work and attention to detail. I'm very happy with this company and would highly recommend them.

My AC condensation pipe was completely backed up and needed to be flushed. Their tech arrived on time and seemed very professional, spending about an hour and a half working on the unit and inspecting everything inside and out. However, he couldn't find where the evaporator line exited the house. His solution? Install an external pump and run a whole new drain line. The rough estimate for that was, well, a hell of a lot more than the $15 fee they charged me just to come out and take a look. When he left, I still had the exact same broken AC, was stressing over an exorbitant bill to fix it, and somehow found out I'd been signed up for a $15-a-month service plan that entitled me to another check-up in six months just in time for winter. Hoping to just get it resolved, I reached out to Service Wizard via Yelp later that evening to see if they could come back today to do the work the tech recommended. I never got a response. Frustrated, I called a different AC company. They actually answered the phone, sent technicians out right on time today, and those guys spent **five minutes** at my house before finding the external line, repairing it, and flushing my system. Problem completely solved in under five minutes, and the fee was incredibly cheap compared to the massive quote I got from Service Wizard. I will definitely be canceling my $15-a-month contract with Service Wizard and won't be recommending them going forward. Save yourself the headache and call someone else!

Based on prior experience we called Brandon at Airco to come take a look. We left a key for them and they were out that day. They called w/options--new coils (a few year fix) or a whole new system. We opted for a new system. They had it installed and house cooled down when we returned on Saturday! We were also wanting to move our thermostat but wanted to talk through that. They came back on Monday to take care of moving the thermostat.

Several years ago, Airco installed a 3-ton variable-speed system in a house that had previously had a 2-ton unit (and a history of trouble keeping cool). After about a year of operation, our tenants reported mold in the ducts, high humidity, and a short-cycling unit. Our investigation found that the installer, Stuart, had never pulled a permit for the work. I want to be candid: it took a negative Yelp review to get Airco's attention. Jeremy reached out, recommended we upsize the ductwork, offered a very fair price, and agreed to close out the permits. I'm slow to trust, so I got second and third opinions from other HVAC companies -- they confirmed the system size was correct for the house, and that the ductwork should have been upsized at the original install. My own Manual J calculations agreed with Jeremy's. Notably, Jeremy was the only installer I could find who was actually willing to run a Manual J. He also followed through on pulling permits and getting the city inspection scheduled. Airco worked to schedule the new duct installation during the one week we'd be in town -- during peak season, no less -- and their crew moved fast and stayed professional, which I appreciated given how brutal a Texas attic is this time of year. A few days in, the system is no longer short-cycling, and indoor humidity has dropped to about 63%. Still a touch higher than ideal, but we think we can chase the rest of it down -- possibly window seals, possibly fan settings or duct leakage. I was impressed enough that I also used Airco for a plumbing call this week.

When my A/C failed at 2AM on a Sunday, they were the only company able to come out immediately (I called at least 5 others). The technician arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem efficiently (faulty fan motor on my Carrier unit), and completed the repair within a couple hours, including a trip to source the part from their vendor. The Concerning The final cost was $2,303.60 for what I've since learned should typically cost $700-$1,000 (that is including emergency service fees). While I understand emergency calls command premium pricing, this felt excessive. Additionally, the quoted price increased from $2,000 to $2,303.60 when it was time to pay without clear explanation of the additional charges. My Takeaway Apex delivers on availability and technical competence when you're in a crisis. However, I'd strongly recommend getting multiple quotes if time permits, as their emergency pricing appears significantly above market rate. The convenience of immediate service came at a steep premium that I wasn't prepared for. Would I use them again? Only in a true emergency where no other options exist, and I'd request detailed pricing breakdowns upfront. For future customers: Get clear, written estimates before work begins, and ask about all potential additional fees.

Repairs were quickly assigned and addressed. Second project required major excavation and complete replacement of old cast-iron sewer pipes. Excavation sub contractor Rite Way and ARS plumbing crew led by Conner were excellent - hard-working and respectful for what I know is difficult and very dirty work. Conner was great at keeping me informed of the steps and was a complete professional throughout this stressful process....5 star! I give an overall 4 star instead of 5 star due to what seemed like a lack of coordination with the Rite Way resulting in delays and the lack of thorough cleanup after. Dirt was left in a neighbor's yard and dirt plus mud/concrete mix was left in my rock yard. Project took almost a month from start to finish, some of that time I had to be out of my home with no drains or water. During this time I was told that Rite Way does its own scheduling. My suggestion is for ARS as the overall contractor to better control that part of the process and it would likely be a 5 star rating.

Nothing was checked or cleaned. It was all a con to try and sell me a ridiculously expensive new system when there is nothing wrong with my existing system. Joe Gilbert was my salesman who assured me that they have a 100% money back guarantee. To test whether that claim had any merit, I told him that I was not at all pleased with my 'tune up' as no tune up happened. Basically, they charged me $100 for a high pressure sales call which was very much like what you would get from a sleazy used car salesman. The pitch even included a call to the manager who offered me a special discount good only for the day. He had the nerve to ask me 'what would it take for us to get your business today.' My response, 'it would take me not sitting here in my kitchen in July feeling perfectly comfortable'. Bottom line is they tried to sell me a $50,000+ system, which I didn't need, and they didn't perform any kind of tune-up, which is what they sold me. I'm not sure how these people sleep at night. Needless to say, after multiple attempts to get refunded under their '100% money-back guarantee' for the tune-up which never occurred, I've been ghosted. Run, don't walk, from this company.

I was looking to replace my entire AC system which is why it's important to find the best in the business and rated the best. It's also important to find more than one 5* business so you can get a better picture and quotes for such an expensive endeavor which I found helpful. If you're going to go all the way with such an expense, it's best to educate yourself as much as possible, and there's lots of YouTube videos on AC repair and replacement which you should watch prior to making that decision. You really need to be an informed and educated customer or you might find yourself with an inferior or wrong system. I found that certain AC companies want the steer you to certain brands they represent, so you may wish to decide on a brand first. I found that the Carrier Infiniti system with its very high seer rating and variable speed was the perfect choice. More details on this system in the photos below. If you live in a two-story house like mine, you can expect the price to be much greater due to the fact that you have dampeners which will need to be fixed or replaced which greatly adds to the bill. As for my AC, it was over 20 years old, but still chugging along. However, I knew there was going to be new mandates in 2025 which would greatly add to the expense of AC replacement such as a new refrigerant which is slightly flammable called Puranovance. I replaced my old R22 compressor with the new R-410a which is still readily available, but will eventually be phased out many years from now. I also mistakenly thought you'd get a good deal by replacing it during the cool months, but apparently a lot of people were doing what I was doing so no break in the price. As a matter fact, the date of manufacture of my new Infiniti compressor was only just a couple weeks old before it was installed. After some back-and-forth on pricing, we finally decided on a date of installation. Carl and his crew showed up and had everything installed within six hours and hauled off the old units. We still needed some troubleshooting in order to dial-in the thermostats functioning properly, but everything works perfectly now and the temperature remains exactly as you set it throughout the house. Both the compressor and the blower motor are incredibly quiet. Since I knew I needed this replacement at some point, I had enough money in the bank to cut a check for the job. When you sign up for Carl's service, you get Carl in the equation. Check out the photos below which show you the equipment, specs and the pricing. Update: After 2 weeks the plenum did separate, but I was able to use foil tape to close up the 8" gap. Personally, I think a 30 day check up would be a good idea not just for Carl, but anyone who gets this kind of installation from whatever company you choose.
