AH-MAZ-ING! Such a warm local bar with great, friendly and efficient service. Their food is so…read moregood, and at reasonable prices for the area. For our 4-Days trip, we ate here for two days!! Trust me - their Lobster Bisque is a must get. Unlike many restaurants where "lobster bisque" is more like "lobster flavored heavy crème"... Steamhoise Lounge's Lobster Bisque is loaded with lobster meat and perfectly flavored soup, and not too salty. (Yes; saltiness is my pet peeve as many restaurants masks their flavorless food with loads of salt) The oysters in their raw bar are "fatty" with a hint of ocean saltiness. Their peel and eat shrimp is fresh and crunchy... oh so good!! And finally - I love their Fisherman's Stew.., again, the dish is perfectly seasoned with super fresh seafood. SO GOOD!!!! A must try spot for your visit to ATL.

Came to Steamhouse Lounge for their Wednesday special. We were told to sit wherever we wanted, and…read morethere were plenty of tables available on the lower level, second floor, and outside. I walked here, so I can't speak on the parking situation, but it didn't look too busy outside (around 7 PM). Vibes inside were pretty nice and casual. FOOD: The Wednesday special is a great deal, where a dozen raw oysters are $15 and a half dozen char-grilled oysters are $10. Raw Oysters (4.5/5) - I have to preface by saying that I am not usually a fan of raw oysters; however, I thoroughly enjoyed the ones here. They were mild in flavor and tasted fresh. There are plenty of hot sauces available at the table to dress up your oysters. The platter of oysters also comes with horseradish and cocktail sauce. I must say I really enjoyed the oyster and horseradish combo. Char-Grilled Oysters (4/5) - Grilled with a garlic parmesan coating. It was nice, but I actually preferred the raw oysters! Not overcooked. Lobster Bisque (3.25/5) - Creamy and pleasant, but I don't think I could eat a lot of it. I'm glad I only got a cup of it to share. Claimed to be "Atlanta's BEST for 25 years," so I had to try. First experience eating a lobster bisque, but the chunks tasted more like imitation crab? Probably would skip if I returned here. SERVICE: Service was pleasant, but not super fast. Getting your order taken took a hot minute, but once that was out of the way, you got your food pretty fast. TLDR// I would come here every Wednesday if I lived in Atlanta because the oyster specials are such great deals. Can't speak on any other menu item, but you can't beat the price on Wednesdays.

Our daughter spent the first few minutes waving at the staff, and they genuinely lit up every time -- such a warm, welcoming vibe right from the jump. Starters We kicked things off with the she‑crab soup, and that's when we knew the meal was going to be special. Tons of rich crab flavor and chunks of crab. The crispy shrimp toast was another hit -- crunchy, savory, and a great pairing with the soup. We also ordered the Baker's Dozen oysters, chef's selection. All 13 were fresh, clean, and briny in the best way. Next up: the Spanish octopus, and honestly... top five octopus dish we've had. Cooked perfectly -- tender, melt‑in‑your‑mouth texture. The salsa macha added just the right amount of heat, and the marcona almonds brought a great crunch with the cilantro, lime, and mint brightening everything up. What a beautifully composed dish. We finished with the Halibut and Lady peas. The Halibut was topped with lobster and served with a lobster butter sauce, chives, and capers. Rich, buttery, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The lady peas (fava beans, asparagus, and a generous mound of blue crab) were another standout. So much flavor, but everything complemented each other instead of competing. One of those sides you keep looking for more of when it's gone. --- Overall Every dish was thoughtful, balanced, and executed at a high level. Service was warm and genuinely kind -- especially with our little one. 10/10 would recommend

Over the years we've seen things decrease especially at the optimist. The hosts were great and they always give us great service but the food had been the lacking the last couple of services where the she crab soup lacked crab, the swordfish over cooked multiple times. This time in particular we ordered the whole lobster and was offered to have it taken out of the shell for us. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. When we got the lobster we got a full tail but one claw and no knuckles. When we addressed with the server, she argued with us that that's how a lobster is and that there could be more meat hidden on the plate. It felt like she thought we were there to just get more food by saying "so what do you want, more meat" but if we had it in the shell we would have received our full portion. The manager on duty tried to make it up to us by comping the lobster but it was more than that. After going back and forth with the server we just wanted the check to leave. The manager on duty insisted to give us the lobster and take it home. The server wasn't very polite and argued with us about the lobster. I wish I remembered the servers name With that said, the amount of money we have spent there over the years, it's unfortunate that that will be our last time going to the Optimist.

Inside is dimly lit with several tables, a large bar, and a furry staircase leading upstairs to another bar. Service was good and the drinks were strong. I ordered the Bayou Fog. The food was tasty but nothing special, more like a solid homemade sandwich with your favorite mayo. It's good and satisfying, just not unforgettable. I had the Seafood and Sausage Gumbo and a half Po' Boy called Bo Kho, and while both were enjoyable, they're items I could easily make at home. I'd go again if invited but probably wouldn't make a special trip. If you're curious, it's worth checking out for yourself. Everything I've tried on the menu has been delicious. My only complaint is that I wish the restaurant was a little bigger because it can feel a bit cramped inside. Other than that, the service and food are consistently excellent. This visit, I ordered the seafood dip, and it was absolutely amazing. For my entrée, I had the steak with fries and a Caesar salad. The steak was perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. My sister ordered the croffle flight along with the mac and cheese and grits, and she thoroughly enjoyed both. This was my second visit, and I'll definitely be back for a third. It's hard to find a restaurant that's this consistent, but Crescent City Kitchen delivers every time!
