I admit I've neglected this place even though I'm closeby. I figured today was a good time as any to make a review on it, especially with them advertising their newest addition to the menu, the Catfish Sandwich. Inside the place is a little barebones. More of a take out place than eating in despite having a seating area. Service is solid and straight to the point. I ordered the Catfish sandwich and the 2 empanada meal with fries and lemonade. Only took about less than 10 minutes to be prepared. The empanadas are always good to write home about ever since the first time I've had them about 5 years ago. Fries are pretty decent, lemonade was a solid thirst quencher. Now to the MVP of my order, the Catfish Sandwich. That fish was tender and smooth, felt like a joy eating that for it was delightful. Touched down in NY to visit my family and stopped in on the way home from the airport. I would recommend ordering pick up or delivery because parking is not good. Cute grass wall/neon light decor. The food is good. Caribbean fusion type empanadas with a nice variety. I had the oxtail empanadas and my daughter had the chicken Rasta pasta. They were pretty good. Empanadas have definitely gone downhill since they first opened. I tried out the jerk chicken and the Rasta pasta empanadas when they first opened and they were delicious. However, I tried them again a few weeks ago and it tasted stale and dry. Nowhere near as good as it used to be, try Mama's Empanadas if you're looking for good ones. Small blacked own business and they are doing a fantastic job. The customer service was top tier. I got the lamb chop empanada, the shrimp Rasta pasta empanada and the supreme empanada. The shrimp Rasta pasta was my favorite by a long shot. Everyone raves about about the lamb chop empanada so I expected it to blow me away and it didn't... I don't know what's in the little green sauce but it made a really big positive difference when I used it with the supreme empanada. I would definitely go back and continue trying the other types of empanadas. I got the peach lemonade, it's literally just sugar water with what seemed like canned peaches thrown in.. it was really lacking lemon and should not even be considered a lemonade plus it was super overpriced. I paid almost $7 for the worst lemonade. The have some awesome pictures on the walls of famous people. I loved the empanadas!!! I went on a Sunday afternoon - the restaurant was empty and VERY clean. The guy that was taking the orders greeted me when I walked in - I looked at the specials on the board but ended up ordering a salmon, shrimp (I really wanted the shrimp rasta but he said it was very spicy so I passed), oxtail and lamb chop. My total came up to around $31.00 and I waited about 10 minutes to get my order. Now the downside is that I don't live in Queens - in fact I was visiting my mother and decided to stop there on my way home (about 45 minutes away) - so they were lukewarm when I got home. I put them in my oven on a low temperature for about 30 minutes then it was time to eat! I enjoyed each of them. I expected the salmon to be dry and it wasn't, the oxtail could have used a little more seasoning but the star of the show was the lamb chop. It was absolutely delicious! While the empanadas are not huge, they are filled with goodness! I love the concept of empanadas other than beef, chicken and cheese that are normally offered in restaurants and these really hit the spot. read more

Excellent empanadas (Caribbean style). Prepared when you order them. Great fillings. Everyone was takes their food to go. Only standup bars along the walls to eat at. The kitchen is hidden behind a small window and blind. As orders are finished the blind opens to drop food on the shelf for the clerk to deliver. Ask for the sauces (excellent) Nice clerk behind the counter helped me pick some local favorites. The menu could use a combo or 2 that lets one know how many empanadas make a meal. Been wanting to try this spot since they opened close by. We ordered for delivery and received our goods very quickly. I was shocked to see how stuffed these empanadas were. Our group loved all of the flavors, including the Lamp Chop version. The only thing we didnt approve of was the green sauce that came with our orders. We arent sure exactly what was in it, but were not fans. We would love to see a MayoKetchup sauce (like the latino spots offer) or even a green sauce like the Peruvian/Colombian spots sell with their empanadas. Will def order again!! read more

The chopped cheese was amazing like, good, good like I might have to drive back to Queens good! It was tasty and the right amount of cheese. I believe that these are best jerk chicken empanadas ever. The jerk chicken was also on point, shredded chicken and spicy and so flavorful. The chicken and cheese was also yummy. Just try all three I promise you won't regret it. We also ordered the sweet chili wings and that was also an OMG must try. We ordered 15 small wings and wish we ordered 15 more. FYI prepare to wait, the service was somewhat slow but well worth it, I wouldn't go if you're in a rush, be patient. Also, they do not accept cash. They accept Apple Pay, Cash App, and credit cards. The ambiance inside the restaurant is okay. It was clean but simple and basic. It's not a sit down at a table spot. Please note they prepare the food as your order hence why it takes a little longer than expected. It's hightop tables and bar stools. Eat your food and go lol. Ok the lamb chops were fireeeee they were really good. I can't believe i didn't get a pic of it. That was the best thing I ate there. I also ordered the chopped cheese that didn't really taste like chopped cheese it was ƙ if I ordered beef w pieces of cheese but I wanted that chopped cheese flavor. I also got the Buffalo chicken which was cool. The wings were really good but the size were ridiculous. It was the smallest wings I've ever had. He asked me if I wanted big or small. I went to Supreme Empanadas yesterday evening for the first time and I can honestly say that it was by far the best empanadas I've ever had! The ambiance is very nice with pictures of so many famous people on the wall and the music was perfect for the vibe it was giving. The young lady who took my order was very polite and took her time explaining the different types of empanadas and other things on their menu. Chef Jay Richardson even came out from the back to greet me and we spoke about the catering menu options. He even took a picture of me standing in front of their epic and famous background inside.
