The go to here is the Italian sausage and pepers. Fresh, flavorful, and grilled to order. Has a great char and the peppers and onions are all cooked on the spot. My go to is the spicey sausage with onions and peppers with hot sauce and bbq. Nice hero bread that is soft to soak up all the juices and matches well with with the sausage that makes a great meal. Other good items here are the meatball hero or the chicken meatball helo. You can tell it's home made and full of flavor. You can get it either with marinara sauce or the ala vodka sauce. My go to would be the meatball hero with ala vodka hero. Friendly and good service and family owned. It's a great place to get a bite to eat and will be definitely back.

But D'Angelo's on Woodhaven Boulevard isn't trying to pull any of that grand stuff. It's just an old-school sausage rig parked on the side of the road, smelling like sizzled grease and charred peppers that hit ya even before you even get close to the window. I ordered an Italian sausage hero loaded up with peppers and onions. I'm not even kidding, the thing was massive, wrapped in foil like a giant, heavy beautiful brick. The sausage itself had a good, snappy casing and plenty of flavor, and the onions were sweet and greasy in that way that tastes great while you're eating it, but makes you feel kind of depressed about thirty minutes later when you're just sitting around thinking about your life and blew off the gym. The bread was decent a little chewy, but it held the whole sloppy mess together without completely collapsing in your hands. The guy working the window wasn't trying to be your best friend or give you some big phony smile, which I actually appreciated. He just handed over the brown paper bag, took the money, and moved on to the next guy. It's not the kind of meal that makes you want to write a poem, but it fills you up with foodie happiness when you're wandering around feeling miserable and hungry. Three stars is a little low, four might be more appropriate.

I don't stop by often, but have done so on various occasions looking for a quick bite other than Austin Street Pizza. My favorite thing here is their Oh K Classic Egg Toast, which had a fluffy egg sandwiched between two thick cut buttered toast. Adding ham and bacon is also good, but I do think I prefer the original. Their Rabboki is not bad either, I enjoy the spicy broth with decent quality ramyun noodles. However, it's way too expensive for the size. My least favorite items happen to be their namesake product - the Korean style fried hotdog in a stick. It's similar to our corndog, but the batter is made with a different type of dough. Honestly, I am not a fan of the batter at all. The hot dog itself is also wimpy too. On my last visit, it was relatively empty around 4:00pm. Then all of a sudden, there were many small groups of teenagers and other young families with one or two kids coming in. Looks like they have become the young people choice of hang out in the neighborhood.

My arepa burger was pretty good but I think the add-ons of bacon and the chicharron and everything were so meat heavy and made it a little tough to chew. But delicious flavors.
