One of my go-to vendors when I'm at a Mets game. They have a booth at Citi Field, so when a friend was visiting and wanted empanadas, I knew exactly where to go. The restaurant itself is in a great spot with lots of parking in the back and right off the Belt Parkway. It feels like a party when you walk in, and the smell of the food just caresses your nose. Fair warning: the portions are deceptive and way bigger than you'd expect. If you're with a group, I highly recommend starting with the Sueño Llanero platter. It has a little bit of everything and is great for sharing. For entrées, you can't go wrong with the arepas. The only downside is the toppings are piled on top, so they can get a little messy when you bite into them. Overall, love it. Just stock up on napkins and bring a friend. read more

I've tried their arepas before when they were at the Yelp Summer bash and enjoyed it! It's a bakery and restaurant, which had a nice dining area on the side and playing music. So for this event the choice was either arepa with choice of meat or empanadas, not both as there seemed to be a typo. So I went with the beef empanadas which wasn't bad. I also decided to try their flan since it looked really good and the slice you get is huge! It wasn't terrible but I prefer my flan to be really sweet which theirs wasn't. Food is consistently delicious. Service is friendly. Ambiance is struggling but works. Empanadas case needs to be cleaned more often however they are good tasting nonetheless. The typical Colombian breakfast will push you back about $21. If the portions were a little larger, it would be well worth it because it is pretty tasty. I wanted to like this place but it really falls short. I had ordered from the bakery a mango flan cake. It took an obscene amount of time for me to obtain my order and then also pay for it. It was 7 dollars which is in line with other bakeries for pricing. However the flan cake was not tasty at all. There was no real flavor to the cake.... It was too much cake and then the flan layer was so thin that it didn't make up for the lack of flavor of the cake. It didn't taste like vanilla or mango. Just sugar. It was disappointing. read more

The food takes a little while to come out depending on your order because items like what we got had to be prepared. Our food came out piping hot . Everything was well seasoned and so delicious. The steak was amazingly soft even at well done. So hubby got to keep his eyesight. The arepa was so stuffed with beef and a few chunks of potato, its a meal by itself. Everything felt like rush I ordered a dish and was never was put in then I asked for my order she said oh it's just soup it comes out fast and was still waiting. I just cancelled the order. Prices are good and service was good on my visit. I only came by to pick up some chicken empenada s as I know I was going to hit some major traffic with the NYC 5 borough bike tour. The empanadas were good, they were fresh so the food has a quick turnover, and the apple, beet and orange juice was made right in front of me. In terms of consistency, last time I ordered all of the guac in it had turned brown which was a bit off putting. The Yuca fries are also tasty, but can be hit or miss. I came during my lunch break ordered the arepa chicken cone and my husband ordered the lunch special : chicken, rice and beans. Lunch specials come with a soup (delicious). Ok, so I am in love with Arepalocious. There, I admitted it. The service, the food, the ambiance is all welcoming and it's easy to see why people love it. Since I have been stopping in in the mornings and after school, I'm always by myself so o haven't ventured into trying larger meals. I can't help myself from ordering the appetizer of the three mini arepas topped with: easily the best guacamole I can ever remember having, shredded chicken, and shredded beef all topped with zesty and flavorful sauces. The arepas are light and airy and filled with the perfect amount of mild cheese. I stare at the whole roasted chickens spinning around as I eat and know that I'm going to have to take one home to the family sooner than later. If you like flan (who doesn't...I know), definitely try it!! I wasn't really a fan of arepas because I've clearly never had them as they should be. Staying in Howard Beach near JFK for a layover and my Air BnB host recommended this restaurant. I've never had Colombian food and this place did not disappoint. I ordered La pechuga a la plancha and it came with arroz, frijoles, platanos, and in arepe pequeno. The food was really good, but the Colombians know their frijoles. Absolutely delicious! My daughter ordered las papas fritas con carne asada, the guacamole has great flavor, and this place needs to bottle and sell that special sauce. The arepas are definitely special and unlike other arepa spots. It has a slight sweetness to it that goes amazing with the cheese inside. Simply amazing. So I had the Chicken Empanadas and the Beef Empanada, which are my favorite. They were perfectly warmed up and tasted DELICIOUS! Any time I had Arepalicious it was takeout/delivery. They do not disappoint. The food tastes amazing and fresh which is sometimes the downside of delivery with container condensation, you do not have to worry about that ordering here. Delivery has always been quick, arrives earlier than supposed to. Portion size is decent as well. My go to order is the sweet plantain canoe with shredded beef (tasted both the beef and chicken, preferred the flavoring of the beef) the saltiness of the meat and the sweetness of the plantain is a great combo, especially with the special sauce on it.
