Amazing homemade empanadas and surf and turf on arepas still linger in my mind and taste bugs weeks after our culinary indulgence. Ithe beef sancocho soup was so satisfying and comforting, I find myself craving it on rainy days as well as sunny days. It's like a taste of home, where the heart is. I would definitely come back and recommend to all my family & friends. Arepalicious definitely deserves my Yummylicious Stamp of Approval & two thumbs up from me! read more

I've tried their arepas before when they were at the Yelp Summer bash and enjoyed it! It's a bakery and restaurant, which had a nice dining area on the side and playing music. So for this event the choice was either arepa with choice of meat or empanadas, not both as there seemed to be a typo. So I went with the beef empanadas which wasn't bad. I also decided to try their flan since it looked really good and the slice you get is huge! It wasn't terrible but I prefer my flan to be really sweet which theirs wasn't. I quickly glanced over their menu and they large a large variety of dishes. Seems to be a busy spot as I was there they seemed to have a steady stream of customers and takeouts. read more

Food is consistently delicious. Service is friendly. Ambiance is struggling but works. Empanadas case needs to be cleaned more often however they are good tasting nonetheless. The typical Colombian breakfast will push you back about $21. If the portions were a little larger, it would be well worth it because it is pretty tasty. Over the past several years they have increased their prices, but it's still relatively not too expensive. The coffee is top notch. Nice and strong and well-made. read more

One of my go-to vendors when I'm at a Mets game. They have a booth at Citi Field, so when a friend was visiting and wanted empanadas, I knew exactly where to go. The restaurant itself is in a great spot with lots of parking in the back and right off the Belt Parkway. It feels like a party when you walk in, and the smell of the food just caresses your nose. Fair warning: the portions are deceptive and way bigger than you'd expect. If you're with a group, I highly recommend starting with the Sueño Llanero platter. It has a little bit of everything and is great for sharing. For entrées, you can't go wrong with the arepas. The only downside is the toppings are piled on top, so they can get a little messy when you bite into them. Overall, love it. Just stock up on napkins and bring a friend. read more

I tried the beef arepa and it was tasty. It is portable and fluffy. The service here was nice. The cashier only knew Spanish but was quick to answer my questions by any means. The location here is small but it does light up during the night. There is music and glow that makes it special. I definitely recommend this place if it is convenient. read more

I wanted to like this place but it really falls short. I had ordered from the bakery a mango flan cake. It took an obscene amount of time for me to obtain my order and then also pay for it. It was 7 dollars which is in line with other bakeries for pricing. However the flan cake was not tasty at all. There was no real flavor to the cake.... It was too much cake and then the flan layer was so thin that it didn't make up for the lack of flavor of the cake. It didn't taste like vanilla or mango. Just sugar. It was disappointing. read more

Looking for a nice arepas or empanada try this spot. They had a variety of empanada flavors and a few different arepa combinations for mini appetizers size to a full size. I had the arepa sampler, and a chicken empanadas that packed with meat and flavor. They do have lunch specials which I will be back to try. Service was quick and staff was friendly and the option to dine in or take out is yours. read more

Always get empanadas to go from this spot but today finally had time to dine in. It wasn't too busy but this place can get packed at times. Its casual and the service is always good. We had the arepa sampler and it was so good. They are definitely softer than the traditional hand held stuffed ones. These need a fork ,it's soft and the toppings were so well seasoned. Chicken, guacamole and beef but many other options. Also got the Sweet plantain areapacone with steak. The whole plantain is stuffed with cheese and then topped with steak cooked to your liking. I wanted medium but hubby insisted on getting it well done. I promised to poke him in the eyes with my fork if it was tough. The food takes a little while to come out depending on your order because items like what we got had to be prepared. Our food came out piping hot . Everything was well seasoned and so delicious. The steak was amazingly soft even at well done. So hubby got to keep his eyesight. The arepa was so stuffed with beef and a few chunks of potato, its a meal by itself. We returned a few days later to try the lunch special and it didn't disappoint. Great value for $12 . Rice, beans and tender beef with onions. So yummy and comforting. It comes with a beverage and we added soup for $3 . Then we spilt passion Fruit cake for dessert. Meats are well prepared here and food taste really homemade. read more

The food was authentic, quality and tasty. Casual ambiance. Quick service. Menu is in English and Spanish. My favorite thing so far is the arepa with mozzerella cheese and condensed milk. It's simple and delicious. Plus: there's a parking lot in the back. read more

The food was delicious but I did not like the service. Everything felt like rush I ordered a dish and was never was put in then I asked for my order she said oh it's just soup it comes out fast and was still waiting. I just cancelled the order. It's about the guest experience not even coming to the table asking how things were going because she knew she messed up. Guess what we left and did not tip. Very small and crowded walking thru tables that are so close and people eating. Food was delicious but for the service I will give it one star due to the fact I'm still hungry !!!! read more

i picked up an order of a surf and turf, and grilled chicken breast. the meal was good.

I'm giving them 4 stars based on my experience. I read a lot of the reviews and see they are very mixed. I found them while driving down Cross Bay Blvd on my way to the Belt Parkway. Honestly if it wasn't for traffic I would have missed them. Good choice for authentic Columbia's food. They offer a pretty extensive menu. Anything from Empanadas, salads, soups, entrees, burgers, deserts, juices, etc. Hey offer catering, sit down service and delivery. You come here for the food, not the decor. Prices are good and service was good on my visit. I only came by to pick up some chicken empenada s as I know I was going to hit some major traffic with the NYC 5 borough bike tour. The empanadas were good, they were fresh so the food has a quick turnover, and the apple, beet and orange juice was made right in front of me. I would recommend them based on my experience, if I'm in the area I would stop buy and try an entree. From what I observed customers eating I would be curious to try one. read more

They scammers place seems home grown Columbian food and it's actually not . They steak meat is always cold . They serve on a fake hot plate that isn't hot . The servers act like they don't know English or Spanish . I feel this place just steals money and not good overall read more

The food was so good and authentic that I'd visit this place daily if my stomach allowed it! Each dish was so flavorful and generous in portion size. My coworker and I visited on a Tuesday evening and it was nice and empty. The staff were all so patient and helpful. The food was overly salty, greasy and the portions of protein were small. The service was mediocre at best. They had the music blasting in the restaurant so our own waiter couldn't even hear us order. Due to this fact we received the wrong order and the person with a seafood allergy had an allergic reaction. i wish the put more care into the food the way they used to. I spent $50 just to not be able to eat most of my food. read more

We order takeout from here a lot! Their consistency can be a little hit or miss, but overall this is one of our faves. I always get the chicken arepacone, which is really quite tasty and filling. In terms of consistency, last time I ordered all of the guac in it had turned brown which was a bit off putting. The Yuca fries are also tasty, but can be hit or miss. Some orders are more fibrous than others, and I wish they'd give you a few more. Even with a few small complaints, I still look forward to ordering here every time. read more

I've been wanting to sit and dine here for a long time and finally was able to during the week. I came during my lunch break ordered the arepa chicken cone and my husband ordered the lunch special : chicken, rice and beans. Lunch specials come with a soup (delicious). The food was absolutely delicious. The arepa come blew me away I was not expecting it to be so good! However, the reason I took 2 stars away is due to the service. There was only 1 girl servicing the tables and ringing up the walk ins. I asked for hot sauce - never got it. Asked for a Togo container -took forever. I don't blame the waitress it was wayyyyy too much for her to handle on her own. Finally, another lady from the back came to help at the register. The food is delicious but Such a shame that they don't have enough staff working to supply good customer service. read more

After a long day at the beach in long branch, and running around with family es Toltec and hi tu.

Amazing food, with good portions, Casual atmosphere .Only issue is their customer service is really lacking. You're forgotten as soon as your food comes. Tried multiple times and failed to flag a server over to order dessert or refills. Honestly we could have walked out without paying if we wanted to. Could be a great place if they could just fix this. read more

The food is to die for. The service is great. The place looks amazing. Small groups or big. Definitely a must visit

Ok, so I am in love with Arepalocious. There, I admitted it. The service, the food, the ambiance is all welcoming and it's easy to see why people love it. Since I have been stopping in in the mornings and after school, I'm always by myself so o haven't ventured into trying larger meals. I can't help myself from ordering the appetizer of the three mini arepas topped with: easily the best guacamole I can ever remember having, shredded chicken, and shredded beef all topped with zesty and flavorful sauces. The arepas are light and airy and filled with the perfect amount of mild cheese. I stare at the whole roasted chickens spinning around as I eat and know that I'm going to have to take one home to the family sooner than later. If you like flan (who doesn't...I know), definitely try it!! I wasn't really a fan of arepas because I've clearly never had them as they should be. Thanks to Arepalocious, they have easily become one of my new favorite treats!!! read more

I really have to shoutout the server that I had tonight. A new young gentleman, normally I have ladies. We really wanted to stay but the music was just too loud for my son, he turned it down and was so attentive and responsive. He was also really polite and friendly. I'm not saying the older servers are not good, he's just really good at customer service. I wish I had gotten his name to ask for him next time. The food was A+ as well. I love across the street and i go often. It's definitely improved in recent months. read more

Great ingredients and quality food..... you can taste the ingredients. Great YELP elite event..... Ambiance and Service.

I came across this place through an event. The food was so delicious. Now I order from this place about every other week. Even with delivery, the food is delicious. The arepas are definitely special and unlike other arepa spots. It has a slight sweetness to it that goes amazing with the cheese inside. I've had the arepas with all different toppings from steak, guacamole, chicken and shrimp. My favorite would have to be the garlic shrimp because shrimp! The pork ceviche with plantain chips is absolutely delicious and make sure you always get a side of green sauce. The different drinks are great too. The coco lemonade was different but tasty as well. It's a literal perfect blend- not to coconut and just the right amount of lemon. This is definitely become one of my staples! read more

This restaurant and it's delicious food surprised us beyond measure in the best way possible. It's going to be a staple for me from now on! I'd never tried such a great Columbian restaurant before, but generally speaking, South American food is my favorite. We got the the mini arepa sampler, arepacone, steak Maduros, and the arepalicious burger. Our favorites are the sampler and Maduros! Explosion of flavors. The coconut lemonade was delicious as well, although I'd skip out on dessert because the cake we had tasted too artificial. The staff were attentive, friendly, and had good suggestions. The restaurant itself is simple and has sufficient seating. The food is the wow factor more than the environment, but it allowed us to focus more on the food. Overall, love love love and can't recommend enough! read more

Staying in Howard Beach near JFK for a layover and my Air BnB host recommended this restaurant. I've never had Colombian food and this place did not disappoint. I ordered La pechuga a la plancha and it came with arroz, frijoles, platanos, and in arepe pequeno. The food was really good, but the Colombians know their frijoles. Absolutely delicious! My daughter ordered las papas fritas con carne asada, the guacamole has great flavor, and this place needs to bottle and sell that special sauce. All the food was fresh, it was hot (we had it delivered), and the portions are generous. read more

Simply amazing. So I had the Chicken Empanadas and the Beef Empanada, which are my favorite. They were perfectly warmed up and tasted DELICIOUS! The Empanada con carne literally pulled apart like one of those fancy 5k food videos on TV lmao. Then I bit into the Chicken Empanada and the chicken was nice and juicy, not one little bit of dryness at all. Usually when I have a Colombian chicken empanada it's dry, not this one! Also, both salsa picante (green and red) taste like heaven on the empanadas I ordered the Vegetariana, I'm currently waiting on that to be made, I'll be back with some more juicy details! BOOOOM so I took my arepa para llevar... I almost passed out in the car eating that. It was too good. The combo of sweet an savory was unmatchable. The sweet plantains were perfectly cooked and delicious. The avocado was such a great addition and filling (i had just finished working out too). The onions and beans just set the whole entire sandwich off man. The facility is beautiful. It's clean, spacious, and welcoming. I can't wait to go back! read more

Any time I had Arepalicious it was takeout/delivery. They do not disappoint. The food tastes amazing and fresh which is sometimes the downside of delivery with container condensation, you do not have to worry about that ordering here. Delivery has always been quick, arrives earlier than supposed to. Portion size is decent as well. My go to order is the sweet plantain canoe with shredded beef (tasted both the beef and chicken, preferred the flavoring of the beef) the saltiness of the meat and the sweetness of the plantain is a great combo, especially with the special sauce on it. You also can't go wrong with a side of fried plantains. GET the green sauce! It's mouth watering. read more

I ordered the beef arepa and it was fantastic! Tasted great and it was a good size. Would order from here again.

Hands down one of my favorite Colombian restaurants in southern west queens! The space is family friendly with parking in the back: they have a huge selection of food options with lots of modern twists like the arepa cone and street fries with all the toppings. My favorite is the Bandeja paisa, this plate is typically a huge plate but the portions in this restaurant is pretty generous. The steak is top quality, tender, juicy and the arepas are to DIE FOR. Please check this establishment out, they are worth it. read more

I just feel like if I order an arepa for $10 is should come with a few more toppings like the arepacone did. Maybe something for texture like lettuce. The fries were very soggy. The arepa itself was tasty, fluffy, and sweet, and cheesy, I wish I ordered this without the chicken because they really did not go together. The chicken had no discernible flavor. read more

I always pass by this place on my way home. One day I went to Dollar Tree and decided to go inside and see what's the hype since I saw it got really good reviews especially on TikTok. It was the best decision we made, we order the plátano boat with beef, the mini arepas sampler and empanadas de queso y carne...wow everything was DELISH and fresh.
