While vacationing in NY and it's over social media to stop by to get their pastries!! Staff were friendly and attentive with a open seating area to share the items!! We got couple pastries to try, for me the plain crossiant was on the dry side , the KA was good with generous filling but too sweet for me! Passionfruit dough was probably my fav out of the 3, the dough was fluffy enough with a tart generous curd fillings (wish it wasn't coated with too much sugar! Worth a stop to try it yourself

We stopped by Superman Bakehouse for a pre-dinner dessert since we had a pretty late reservation. The interior is hard to miss -- very retro neon with a dimly interior that was almost futuristic. UBE PANDAN ICE CREAM SANDWICH - 11 This is crazy steep for an ice cream sandwich. That said, it was quite good. The ube pandan combo isn't novel, but we were impressed that the flavors were very bold, despite both being lighter flavors. We noticed the flavor actually changes depending on how you bite it -- more ube if you hit pandan first, and more pandan if you go the other way around. Pretty cool! It was definitely on the sweeter side (a bit too sweet for me), but still enjoyable for a couple bites. Overall, a fun stop and a solid pre-dinner treat, especially if you're killing time in the LES neighborhood.

There is a french person out there scoffing at me right now, because this was probably my all time favorite pain au chocolat I've ever had. Supermoon prides itself on unique pastries, and unique pastries they must have! Think cornflake cookies, dan dan danishes, and banana pudding cruffins. Inside is almost like walking in a museum, stony interior with a display of single pastries acting as a menu. I ended up with a twice baked espresso brownie pain au chocolat. The layers were so crunchy and flaky, and the chocolate interior was so decadent. I honestly would have finished that entire hand sized pastry in one sitting had I not had mac and cheese earlier. The espresso brownie pieces on top tasted like actual fudge brownie pieces, and not those wimpy little pieces you find in ice cream. The cardamom cream, I will admit, did not mesh well with me. Personal opinion, Im not a cardamom and chocolate person. However, separately, that was the move. Plenty of creamy cardamom taste throughout. They do offer gelato and drinks as well. But definitely looking towards visiting them again to try their rotational menu!

I came around 9+pm and there were only 5-ish pastries left, which was expected. I would love to come again to try some of their more famous pastries! I managed to snag a pina colada old fashioned donut ($8.44 post-tax), and I loved how coconut-y it was! however the texture was more dense-cake-like and I wish there was more pineapple or tropical elements

Love this little place! They have tasty treats and are open all day (until 10pm)! Both savory and sweet items are available. My favorites are the ube eclair and ube and pandan ice cream sandwich (which is HUGE). Know that some items may sell out through the day. Close to a subway stop (1 block) so easily accessible. There's a few seats available. Service is quick, you place your order and they prepare in the back and call your name when it's ready. The employees aren't overly friendly but they get the job done.

It's a small but cute little bakery with a little bit of seating space. We ordered the ube eclair and two passion fruit donuts to go. The service was quick and friendly. Presentation wise, I really like how they give you the donut in a cup, though I didn't realize that there was a good reason for that. The passion fruit donut is filled in completely with delicious filling, and if you remove that cup, you're going to have a mess on your hands...a very tasty, sexy mess. You bite down from the top and it will spill out from the bottom. I definitely would not eat this anywhere but home. I took a star away because they're a little pricey, but it would work as a nice occasional treat. I would definitely come back.

Supermoon is one of my favorite bakeries in NYC and I always make it a point to stop by if I am in East Village. This time I specifically went to get their Pandan/Kaya Jam donut but it wasn't on the menu anymore - even though it was on their online menu, womp womp! So instead, I got a scoop each of the Ube, Condensed Milk & Honey Joys and the Pandan & Kaya Jam gelato. Their gelatos are so luscious and the Ube/Pandan flavors are so prominent! Give them a try if you haven't and you will not look back. Their Crème Brûlée Danish is also dangerously good!

Pretty sure Supermoon Bakehouse is my favorite bakery in Manhattan! Every item is so unique and I love that they change up the menu every month. Inside is a bit sterile, but they do have seating and a clear display of all of the pastries. Service is always friendly. Get there early if you can! They do sell out of many pastries throughout the day. Even arriving around 2 PM on a Saturday, there were 1 or 2 items already sold out. I've visited on multiple occasions at this point so this is just one example of the amazing things they have. The ube pandan ice cream sandwich is a mandatory experience. It is a 10/10, I've never had a better or more unique ice cream sandwich. Every pastry I've had has been phenomenal and I dream about my next visits. I can't say enough good things about Supermoon!

    Banana Pudding Cruffin (~$10)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Traditional Croissant (~$6) Passionfruit Curd Doughnut (~$7): fried and filled with passionfruit curd then rolled in sugar Banana Pudding Cruffin (~$10): dual-filled with fresh home-made banana pudding and banana caramel and then topped with a Swiss meringue buttercream bulb and Nilla wafers Aya's take: The last time I was at Supermoon was around the year they opened and I remember it being tremendous - to the point where if you see my previous review, I went two days in a row! We were in the area and granted it was 8:30pm (most specialty bakeries don't even stay open this late) so we decided to grab some pastries. Their Traditional Croissant apparently takes 3 days to make and uses Isigny Sainte-Mère French butter. It's pretty mild in flavor with a strong, crisp exterior. It has the layers but isn't as flaky as other croissants I've had. Now I'm a sucker for banana pastries! I was entirely thrown off with the Banana Pudding Cruffin as I expected it to be creamy and sweet but instead it was a bit tart and acidic (likely from lemon) which I was not expecting. It didn't meet the mark for me. The Passionfruit Curd Doughnut was way more doughy than expected but the passionfruit curd inside was silky, sweet and tangy. I'm not sure if it was a matter of freshness and coming early in the day is the move or if the quality has diminished over the years. I really hope it's not the latter as this is still a spot I recommend to people. This experience was a 3.5/5 (rounding up for the review); maybe it was an off day but the flavors just didn't hit the same this time.

Ube eclair was nice. The dan dan-ish was novel, and the flavor of the Dan Dan stuffing was great, just not sure it worked in a pastry. The banana pudding cruffin was ok, but wouldn't get again. Very expensive, but there is obviously a lot of work involved in making these so it's to be expected. Staff were lovely and the space is simple and designed to have you eat and leave.

The store does no have a clear signage that directs me there. I was pacing back and forth several times while looking at Google Maps. I ran into another fellow customer who also was looking at her Google Maps trying to find the store. Four eyes are better than two so finally we hesitantly opened the door of to discover that we had found it. The store has an industrial vibes. Very minimalistic, plain undecorated walls. The displayed pastries are only representatives to give you a visual of the menu. There's description for each pastry. Everything looks enticing. Ube eclair: the filling has a bright and bold color of purple. Very sweet. Strawberry and lychee cruffin: the pastry is soo crunchy and has dark pink color. The filling has a refreshing and slightly sour, very delicious. Ferrero Rocher : it's ok, I was expecting more hazelnut flavor. They also have ice cream sandwiches and gelato

Ube & Pandan Ice Cream Sandwich

I wish I could've tried a couple more items when judging this bake house however once I arrived almost everything was sold out. This was super disappointing but I guess that means that the people in the neighborhood really like the pastries here. From what was available (around 4 items), I decided to try the Ube & Pandan ice cream sandwich. I love both of these flavors and am consistently looking for items with these flavors so I was very excited. The ice cream sandwich was good but that's all I could say about it. It was super sweet because I think there was a small layer of caramel when the ice cream itself was already sweet and the sandwich outsides were also sticky and sweet. The ice cream sandwich mostly just tasted like a sticky ube sandwich and I could not find the Pandan flavor. The service was extremely quick and they got us our order immediately. I just wish that I could've tried more of their pastries so I will try to make it there earlier next time I go.

Waited years to try this place. The ambiance was lacking, it doesn't really look like bakehouse but more like a chill spot to hang with friends. Furniture is metal round tables and chairs and only a few. Upon entering, at the front where you order is a line of baked goods that are available for that. This is clearly where the shine is that makes up for the lack of decoration. Years ago, I seen a YouTube short featuring their ube ice cream sandwich. When I tell you... the ube ice cream sandwich is most unique and delicious sandwich I've ever had in my life, I am not being hyperbolic. I would've purchased five more if I wasn't going back home to Michigan right after. But it was well worth the wait. I also tried an ube eclair and an extra large chocolate croissant both pretty good but not as good as the ice cream sandwich, granted I ate them days later. I'm extremely happy I finally tried this place.

I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
