I have been a customer of this company since I moved into my house 17 years ago. I think our relationship will be ending because I'm moving to Illinois. I will have to confirm. When it comes to reliability and customer service this company is amazing. Every service tech that has come to my home and the young lady that answers the phone all have been amazing. When you schedule service you will get a text confirmation. The nice young lady will call you the day of to remind you and the tech will call when they're on their way. Like I said, reliability and customer service is excellent. I'm deducting one star because there's a man that also answers the phone who needs more customer service training. Each time I have spoken to him I've felt like I'm interrupting his lunch or my questions are below him. There's no compassion in his voice. He speaks very matter-of-factly. When you're having a concern with your heat or air you're most likely already stressed. It sure would be nice to speak to someone who doesn't contribute to your issues. I requested a lien waiver from him last Thursday for work completed and paid for that day. I had to call today, Tuesday, to follow up. The nice young lady emailed it to me within 30 minutes. I appreciate this company was available on December 24 to install a new furnace for my home. They were efficient and got the job done quickly. Everyone involved wore a mask and cleaned up after themselves well. Payment plans are available through their finance company when necessary and I thought the terms were reasonable. I asked the "expert" who came out for the best solution to heat & cool a 2nd story. I inquired about various options including zoning and installing a 2nd unit in the attic. His "expert advice" was to get a larger unit. I went with his advice because he assured me it was the best optio. After being installed, there was no change to the upstairs area. They sent another "expert" out to take a look. His suggestion was to turn on the fans, tilt the blades and leave the doors open. I told them the rooms needed privacy, including the bathroom so leaving them open wasn't an option. He said cut the bottom of the door to allow the air in. I had my son leave his bedroom door open and it didn't improve the situation. After calling one last time, this company said there was nothing they could do. I replaced a perfectly good system for a bigger system for no reason!!! What a rip off! These schmucks only took my money and left me in the same situation. Now I'm faced with adding another unit or zoning. I could've kept my original unit and added a 2nd unit to the attic for the same price! PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM! read more

I used Superior for new heating and air conditioning units about 6 years ago. They installed Lennox which is one of the worst air conditioning units (my mistake for not asking...lesson learned). I have had to have them out 4 times to service it. Which of course they charge me for every time they have to come out. I now need a new water heater so I called them. Asked what brand they install. They said Bradford White which according to the reviews is also not a good product and poor quality. Check the BBB and Consumer Affairs websites. I was also quoted a price $600 higher than the other company I called. Plus they said I may need a part that is an additional $600 that regulated the water pressure the other company never mentioned and is not a code in my county. I'm going with a more reputable company for all future needs. read more

I woke up to a cold home because my furnace, had stopped working; in the middle of the night! It was 28 years old; so it was time to get a new one! The extremely cold weather, did not help the situation! I called Superior Heating & Cooling, to come out to give me an estimate, on a new furnace! Andrew Mackey, came out to give me an estimate! He was very professional and thorough! I had already had 3 other companies come out for a quote! Andrew, gave me the best Proposual, with the best Warranty and the best Annual inspections! You will have 4 different systems to choose from. I chose the Best! The furnace was affordable! There is also financing available! The next day, the "Dream Team", showed up to rescue me; in my time of need! Austin, Ben and Patrick; were life savers! They were very professional! They removed my old huge Lenox Pulse Furnace and installed my new Bryant furnace! I love it! Patrick, installed the new thermostat; which was included with the installation! He showed me how to work it and I got the Operation Manual! Their crew only took about 4 hours for removal and installation of the New furnace! They also were very neat and cleaned up all of the debris! I am so happy with my new furnace; which included a Carbon Dioxide detector! It's quite and the heat is so hot and comfortable! I am so glad that I chose them for my new furnace needs! I will be giving out referrals to family and friends! I look forward to working with them for years to come! This review has to do with the poor business practices of Superior Service. We recently had a technician go out to inspect a boiler. The service rep led me to believe that a service call is $98 flat fee. She added that any additional labor, service, parts would be added. Why would you say "flat fee?" It's a fee added along with the Service Call. I assumed added with the repair of the project because every time I ask the question, every single rep I've ever spoke with will give me an hourly rate for the Technician to come out, which is understandable. Not giving an hourly rate is misleading and they know what they're doing because the General Manager had to explain to me in a totally different way as the customer is charged if the service call isn't a basic service call which is left up to the discretion of the company. They're not taking accountability and them trying to explain it in different ways is misleading. I couldn't imagine doing business with this company. Safe to say, they lost a customer read more

Everything went well. Service was very fast and straightforward. We were impressed and relieved they could get us in within 48 hours to do a full install! Justin was super helpful and nice to work with. I was glad we were able to shop options and finance all right there on the spot during the initial service call. The only things that were frustrating were that his tablet kept messing up which made the process take longer, and then during the install one of the other men was smoking in our yard. I bought a new heating and cooling system from Superior Heating & Cooling and I am delighted by the entire experience. Everyone and I do mean EVERYONE who I interacted with treated me with respect. From scheduling my estimate appointment, to the Sales Rep, to the installation crew, everyone was professional and respectful. I did not feel pressured in any way during the sales process with tactics like, "You have to make a decision by this date or else you'll miss out on this deal/rebate," which is what I experienced with another company. Josh, Cole and Zach made up the install crew. Josh is an awesome leader - he called ahead to confirm arrival, introduced each member of the crew, and kept me updated during the install. I work from home and could hear Josh throughout the day assigning tasks, providing guidance and feedback throughout the day. The crew finished up a little earlier than projected and Josh waited patiently over 20 minutes for me to finish a conference call so he could explain and help me set up my new digital thermostat. We recently had a new furnace and ac installed by Superior, and it is so much nicer than our old one. The previous hvac system was getting old and made a lot of noise, so we decided to replace it before it went out on us. Superior has been servicing our system for many years now, and they always are available promptly if we have any issues and had maintained our old system very well. The new system is just so much nicer though and more efficient. They came out within a few days of me calling them, and got what seemed like a big job done in one day. The guys that came out, Jesse and Zach, were real friendly and explained everything to me clearly and really did a good job with the new install. Also the total cost for what I got I thought was very fair, and it was just one price for everything so no hidden fees or surprises. There was also some rebates I qualified for which was nice. Overall, I think Superior does a really good job with everything related to hvac and I will continue to use them and would recommend them to anyone needed those types of services. read more

Called them for routine maintenance on the AC. As soon as he arrived he plugs in an Air monitoring machine. I asked him not to do that. He ignored my request.. He said we needed a new part on the AC. He replaced the $8 part which took 5 minutes to install and charged $299 on top of the $77 service fee. I asked again to unplug the air machine and he refused. He left the fan running inside the house which causes the humidity to rise. Guess what? The air monitor results said the humidity level was too high. What a scam. Then, they send us a letter saying we need their service because of results of air monitor and they mistakenly sent us someone else's letter too....same wording!! It's a scam. read more

Their team tried their best saving our 18 year unit, but when it out for the last time, they were quick to come out, assess if it could be saved and help us weigh our options. In the end, it didn't make sense to invest into such an old system. We just purchased our home 3 months ago, so cost was a main concern. They gave us great financing options that make getting a new system very feasible. I asked probably 30 minutes of questions and Tim was great at answering them and giving honest feedback. I had contacted another company previously and there were a lot of red flags. I didn't get any of that feeling from Superior. Rick and Jacob were out the very next day and installed everything and had me up and running! The warranties and rebates made me feel more confident in my purchase and going with them. Made an appointment with Superior to come look at our heater which did not come on when we switched over to heat from A/C. First, they called to give me a 2 hour window, which was fine. However, they were a no-show during those 2 hours. They called me 6 minutes after the 2 hour window (I'm exact only because I have the time stamp on my phone) and I was unable to pick up because I was on another call. Their message said to call because the service person was on the way. I called back exactly 10 minutes later and the woman who answered the phone told me they cancelled my appointment. Why would you cancel a customer's appointment when it was YOU who missed the scheduled appointment time? I told her that I have been waiting during this 2 hour window and I want a service person to come out. She was extremely rude to me because I didn't answer their call. This seemed so ridiculous when it was they who missed my appointment and I called back just 10 min later. Eventually she agreed to put me on the schedule but she hung up on me so abruptly that I didn't even get a new scheduled appointment time. So after waiting all day they called again at 4:15pm to say that they were indeed still coming to my house today. I write this at 6:05pm and they are a complete no-show and no return phone call. I recommend finding a different locally based company to support and do business with! read more

Technician Patrick Schlereth Arrived at my home to perform the $77 Spring Clean Maintenance Special. Patrick stated my A/C unit was already very clean, so he didn't clean it. However he ran a few test and determined that I would need an Expansive Valve replacement in order for my A/C unit to cool my home to the optimal goal. Superior is not part of HSA (My Home Warranty Company). I thank Patrick for the information and we parted ways. A few hours later I turned on my A/C. I notice the Fan was not spinning on my outside unit and the air coming through the vent was very warm. I called $uperior Heating and Cooling. I spoke with a non concerned man, who stated for the Technician to return I must be prepared to pay a $78 re-trip fee. I became concerned that this was a Scam or a Hustle to get more money out of me ,so I opted out. Whatever happened to common customer courtesy? My A/C unit was working fine before Patrick Schlereth arrived. He even stated that my A/C unit was one of the cleanest he had viewed. A recent house purchase left me with a 25yr old furnace which was in dire need of replacement. When you wake up in the middle of the night to a roaring beast and return home to freezing house its time to find a new climate control unit. Obviously the purchase of a new heating/cooling system isn't cheap so I educated myself on the basics and I did my due diligence in receiving numerous estimates. It was free and easy to arrange a time for an in-home consult with the representative (Allan). Allan walked me through my house while examining the existing HVAC system and components (ducts, vents, power, etc). All existing supply and return ducts dimensions were measured to determine the appropriate capacity the house would require. An array of options were presented to me ranging from least costly basic 80% furnaces only to the costly 96% efficient furnace with auxiliary heat pump and A/C. Needless to say I choose the middle ground. I typically like to see an itemized list of all charges, but was happy to see a flat final installed cost, with no add-on fees of any sort. Fast forward to installation day: the rainy day before the Thanksgiving Holiday. Three guys came over to remove and install the new HVAC system which took all day. A huge pet-peev of mine being a customer is hearing employees complain about having to work before a holiday or trying to finish a job quick in hopes to leave early. After overhearing a few comments from the basement I decided some supervision was necessary and fiddled around the basement while the crew worked. After awhile I found myself as the crew foreman instructing how and where to run mechanical lines which was an interesting position to be in... A road block that we ran into was attaching the humidifier to the house water line (House has the new PEX, not copper) which required me to run to the hardware store and purchase the necessary parts and perform the labor myself. The crew did an ok job cleaning up their larger messes but missed the smaller ones. Overall I am very happy with the new HVAC system as I now have a home that is always comfortable and a much easier on the wallet, I wish the whole installation process would have gone a bit smoother. read more

Do NOT use Superior Heating & Cooling. I asked them to fix a broken water heater ignition that was identified during an inspection report at my house. I was charged for the visit and labor to be told nothing was wrong. Two and a half weeks later (nobody living in the house) during the final walk through it was identified there was no hot water and the ignition (identified during the inspection) still was not working. I called Superior to see if they could fix it and they told me they were going to charge me to come out again because it was greater than 14 days. I told them (and they knew I had to meet them at the house that nobody was living in the house to monitor how the water heater was doing. I told them I would be happy to pay for parts to fix it, but paying them again for a visit fee and labor when it was identified by an HVAC inspector as not working and then not working 20 days later is poor customer service. Avoid this place, they are the equivalent of the auto repair shop that fixes the darker problem multiple times. read more

Scheduling for Superior's service was good but I think I should have been told that my furnace would NOT be serviced for the winter. Patrick (service tech) was friendly, professional and answered all of our questions. My first disappointment was that I thought my furnace was going to be cleaned and prepared for the winter (as per past experience). I didn't realize that the "$67 Fall Special" only checked the furnace. In my 35 years of home ownership, I never heard of this non-service and this experience makes me feel stupid (to have fallen for another bad deal). Then, the tech told us how much it would take (over $300) to fix what he recommended. This was better than the company we had June 2017 who made a couple of A/C changes without telling us the cost . . . THEN charged us $574. My second disappointment was Superior's estimate for a new furnace and A/C which was 60% more ($3,025 higher) than the install I did for a similar home in the neighborhood June 2016. I keep learning life lessons - I only hope I don't run out of money before I know it all. read more

I bought a Lenox furnace and new Lenox A/C unit from superior, and just wanted to share my thoughts of them. My furnace is now 11 years old. I've had Jerry Kelly come out and service it a couple of times throughout the seasons. Again this year it went out two days after Christmas, and a friend of mine who is a heating and cooling certified individual came out and started troubleshooting. The normal routine stuff, like cleaning the flame sensor, thermocouple, flame holders, etc. We quickly noticed a huge amount of rust from the A-coil tray on down, and throughout the burner section, and a tremendous amount of rust on the bottom of the furnace where the blower motor is located. This was very dis-heartening. Especially since furnace purchases are supposed to go for at least 20 years. The root cause of the mega rust was the A-coil was not shimmed to allow for complete drain of my unit, therefore the tray overfilled and drained right down the inside of my furnace, causing an unbelievable amount of rust. This severe rust now was the problem with my furnace, as there is a sensor on the blower, that senses blower rotation, and when blower rotation is sensed the gas valve is supposed to open and we get ignition. None of that happened due to that switch being rusty as you know what. I sent pic's to superior, and the very next day the sent a salesman to my house only to repeatedly say it was installed correctly and my fault the unit wasn't draining properly. Now to let everyone know, I'm an aircraft mechanic on F-15's, and F-18's, so mechanically I'm very proficient. They danced around the root of the problem, and blamed everything on me. I would strongly recommend anybody from buying anything from this company for the rest of my life. Go with York, or do the research yourself, but do not let them put a furnace/AC unit in your house, you will regret it. They send you notices every year or so, just so they can charge you an astronomical amount for their so called servicing of your unit. That's how cheap of appliances they use. Again, save yourselves the extreme headaches and do not go with Superior. Look at the other review besides mine, I think somebody else gave them 2 stars out of 5, that's pathetic. I will convince everyone I come into contact with at Boeing to go elsewhere. The little puppet they sent out to my house was a smart mouth, self proclaimed, know it all.
