Our outside fan stopped to the outdoor A/C unit. Rob stopped by and had it working. Said there are dead switches and he managed to bypass. Working for now and was told its at least 37 years old and still running. Definitely on borrowed time. Will be buying a unit from them shortly. Rob was very informative of what was done and options moving forward. read more

I have been using Welch for approximately 5 years now. I had left my previous company due to management changeover and merging with another company. A neighbor recommended Welsch to me and I could not be more satisfied . I have a big home with 3 air conditioners and 3 furnaces, so I rely on them to keep working. Colin is our service person, and he is "the bomb". He is always on time, extremely good at what he does, very very thorough, and respectful to not only my husband and I, but treats my house respectfully also. I have one unit in the attic, and he never complains about crawling up that ladder in the heat to check it out. My pricing is a bit more due to the number of units I have, but the quality of service and respect is so worth it. The office staff is very organized also, and always kind /nice when scheduling or troubleshooting a problem. read more

So this is not my usual review but there is NO WAY I can't brag just a bit on this local business that is just outstanding! I've used Welsch for over a decade and my family used them before that. So my experience runs deep. First thing you should know: their technicians stay. Meaning you benefit from their experience and commitment to Welsch's service standards, which are high. Recently, I had a blower motor go out. Jeremy came out within the hour (after hours), diagnosed the problem and had Scott on the phone to check inventory. It wasn't easy but Scott was on the phone at 8 AM, ready to set up an appointment to install the motor - less than 12 hours later! Incredible. Look, you might find cheaper but you won't find better service, more knowledgable technicians and an overall feeling of "We got you!" like you do with Welsch. read more

We had a minisplit put in and all the workmen were professional, friendly and clean. Work was amazing. David Gray, our sales rep, was super. Very responsive to phone calls! read more

we have been using Welsch for years. this past winter we were getting our routine furnace check when the furnace went out right after the serviceman left. we could smell something was burned in the furnace area. we called and he came back saying he must have touched some wires. the heat came on for a few more hours then was gone. we needed to spend around $900 for a part to fix it. after it was fixed, the heat stopped again and it was due to an error the guys who put the part in made. read more

Last night (Saturday) on one of the hottest days of the year, our AC stopped working leaving our home very warm. Called the service and their staff worked to get a technician out early Sunday morning. I didn't expect a tech to be available till Monday but i only spent 8 hours without AC on a weekend!!! The technician was extremely knowledgeable and accessed my problem was dirty condenser coils. I have witness other companies finding minimal problems and charging customer thousands of dollars unnecessarily. I trust this company and recommend them for their integrity, professionalism, knowledge and customer service. read more

Always a great experience with Welsch! I called last night at 6pm when we noticed our AC wasn't working correctly and I received a call back from a Service Tech right away to say they can get to us in the morning. Greg arrived right on time at 7am this morning (very friendly and professional) and replaced the capacitator all before 8am. We have used Welsch several times now and appreciate their promptness, professionalism, and quality work. I have recommended in the past and will continue to do so. read more

What an improvement! Welsh Heating & Cooling replaced our original furnace and air conditioner a few months ago and our house in incredibly more comfortable, and quieter, because of their efforts - awesome! We have a home in Ballwin that we like very much. We moved in in 2000. Over the last several years we have replaced all the original kitchen and laundry room appliances, and we had figured the A/C and/or furnace would be going soon. But, no, we didn't start saving for the replacement like we should have. Shortly after the new year, we noticed calcium buildup where the humidifier drains into the basement floor, so we canned Welsh to provide a replacement filter and to perform their annual checkup. When Welch visited to replace the filter, they performed an inspection, and found cracks on the furnace's gas jets, which confirmed that we needed to replace the furnace, and the A/C. Little did we know how much better the house would be. Some co-workers had talked this past year about their new air conditioners, and they shared how older models typically run on full power and then shut off and then restart after the temperature rises again. Contrasting, newer models run almost continuously but at much lower power. That was the sum total of my thoughts and understanding about air conditioners before we needed to replace ours. Welch helped us understand things about air conditioners and furnaces that we hadn't realized we didn't even know, and helped us pick the right replacements for our home. In the end, our helpful Sales rep helped us selecte: - A two-stage furnace with a variable-speed blower - A variable-speed air conditioner (A/C) that reaches SEER 18 depending on which speed it's running - Both are connected to a thermostat and combined they learn from our house... they track the weather conditions and the inside settings and adapt over time ... and that is awesome! Both are made by Bryant - nice! How well do they work? WELL!!! Were they worth the investment? YES!!! A/C... Air Conditioner: It is whisper quiet. Even when outside standing near it you can barely hear it... compare the near-silence outside to the original that drowned out your voices inside the house when standing by that wall, when the windows were closed(!). When we are inside now, we need to work to listen to hear the new air conditioner... you need to get near the vents to confirm there is air flowing to know it's on... it's just that quiet! AND The house is NOTICEABLY MORE COMFORTABLE... the continuous, lower-powered running means that the humidity is being drawn out from the air more constantly, making it more enjoyable to be inside. And while there will always be a noticeable difference between the main floor and the basement, the contrast is less... the rest of the house feels more like the basement - cooler and more comfortable - than it ever used to. Previously, when walking upstairs, halfway up the steps, you'd notice the heat layerand you'd want to go back downstairs to be cooler, even at nighttime. We had our repair in the spring, after the temperatures had warmed, so we have less experience with the furnace "in the dead of winter," but we can attest that it worked incredibly well on the cooler (not cold) days and nights, and that it is also incredibly quiet, like the A/C you can actually stand next to this new one and talk and actually hear one another! This new furnace is also smaller than our original furnace. Ours is located near the bottom of the stairs, in the basement, and with the smaller footprint we have more room to get in under the steps than we used to. The Welch Heating and Cooling team did an excellent job with the installation... quick, clean - nothing at all to clean up... NICE! Thank you, Welsch Heating and Cooling, for years servicing our old equipment, and for the awesome installation and our new furnace and A/C!!! read more

We have used Welsch for our bi-annual service requirements for several years. We have always been very satisfied with the quality of the service and with our service provider, Chris S. We decided it was time to replace our systems. The work started yesterday. The crew of three were able to replace two furnaces and two air conditioning units yesterday. Before the house even started feeling like it was cold. We previously had cold spots in the house since we did an addition to the house. Today duct work was replaced and some baffles installed. My cold bedroom is no longer cold! And the new units are way quieter than the old ones. And they sealed the ductwork and made the drain piping look so professional. The crew was friendly, polite, and efficient. And they completely cleaned up after themselves. We feel that we got a good value with a very high quality product. read more

Many years ago I switched out maintenance to Welsch and never looked back. Really good. Never replaced anything major even though our stuff is old and they did not install. I finally decided that I wanted to replace our 21.5 year old AC. It was a RUUD green machine and was a reliable beast but the bills have been creeping up with time--the refrigerant is no longer available and I just felt it was time. Never pushed by Welsch. A really fine guy dude came over, Robert Parnell. Now I was ready to spend over the moon for this super fancy dandy system--would you be surprised if I told you I was talked down? Mr. Parnell explained the pros and the cons of the inverter systems that they could have sold us but explained that there have been reliability issues. Instead he reviewed options and targeted me to a reasonable and high quality system. As I reviewed after the fact--I realize he really directed me to the sweet spot--the point where you pay enough to get the things that really matter for quality and function but helped me to avoid the type of spending when you pay a lot for just tiny incremental things. There were parts of the system that did not need replacement and he did not oversell us. I just feel good! Peter did not take advantage and Welsch has earned my true customer loyalty--super strong 5 star recommendation. read more

These are the best guys around if you need your furnace or air conditioner fixed. I had a problem today and called at 8 am, they sent Cris out and he was here when they said he would be. Great guy, did excellent work and fixed our problem. read more

The service side of the business was fine, however the billing side not so much. I paid the service by credit card the day of the service as soon as the service was completed. Two months later I revived a "past due" email which I promptly responded to and provided proof paid from the original service date. I received no reply so I made the poor assumption that Welsch had corrected their error. I assumed wrong. I received another notice by mail on 1/3 requesting payment once again. While Welsch does employ well trained technicians, their billing department needs a complete overhaul. read more

Had to call Welsch this morning to ask about a thermostat issue. Both of the people I spoke with (the receptionist and the service tech) were extremely nice and helpful. The service tech gave me a few different options to try to rectify the thermostat issue before scheduling a service call. How many companies will do that? But Welsch is smart enough to know that scheduling service calls when they might not be needed is a waste of your time and money. You certainly can't say that for many service companies! I continue to highly recommend this excellent company! read more

This company is great. Every person they've sent us for installs or repairs has earned 5 stars. They respond quickly, communicate issues and solutions very well, and get things working. It's very easy to request service online and their customer service team is a pleasure to talk to. I wish all companies were this easy to deal with. read more

Very expensive. The service call was overpriced. The estimate was $700 higher than another company that ended up doing the same work. But worst of all even if I paid them their estimate to fix it they said it would be a week before they could fix it. The other company I called ja it fixed the same day. So I would say don't even waste your time and money calling these guys. read more

We hired Welsch twice this year to help with a poorly wired and vented pair of furnaces / AC units in our house. The techs who have helped were both very punctual (important to us!!), professional, patient, knowledgeable and took the time to talk us through issues with our appliances. We could not be happier with their service, as well as with the friendliness and ease of scheduling with their front-end customer service colleagues. End-to-end I wish more home expert companies were this pleasurable to work with. read more

Called for emergency. Technician paged and completely blew me off. Told him I don't mind paying $165 fee. "I am not wasting my time coming out there if I can help someone else." Told him I would find someone else and hung up. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. The tech that came to our house for a "routine" ac maintenance check was very friendly. However he told me and my daughter, at one point, he had to run the water. My daughter commented that it sounded like it was coming from inside the house. Well unbeknownst to us it was. Their tech had opened the wrong water valve, above our home business desk, and flooded the entire work station. The tech left almost immediately after this saying nothing. We called them and a rep. (I want to say Betty but not sure) said that Paul Heimann would be contacting us the next day. We reported everything to Mr. Heimann including all photo documentation and a list of all damaged items (with proof of our purchases of said items and a list of costs). Mind you we didn't get into the costs we incurred for loss of business for our entire operation being shut down. Mr. Heimann originally told us that his insurance company would be contacting us and when we asked for the contact info he would not give it to us. Mr. Heimann then told us they would submit everything to their insurance and get back to us. Now it's been 2 weeks since last contact and they are not returning our calls. Do the right thing Mr. Heimann, like you said you would. read more

I've been a Welsch customer for over 20 years. The technicians are very professional and on time for appointments. I have never had any problems after repairs are completed. The costs for service and repairs are reasonable. read more

Very impressed with this company! We left a message on their voice mail and got a call back within minutes by a friendly voice. Although we were given an arrival time of a 4-hour window, the tech arrived about 60 minutes later. Techs Donnie Nelson and John Treveer were both super friendly and competent and explained what they were doing along the way. It was determined that we needed a new motor and the piece was delivered to our house in less than an hour and installed with no problem. We will definitely use this company in the future. read more

I have had an excellent experience with Welsch Heating and Cooling. They are prompt, courteous, and honest. I have had a couple of instances where there was a problem on Sundays. Both times, the techs on the phone were able to give me a temporary fix so they could come out on Monday, saving me an emergency call charge. The techs are AWESOME! I won't use anyone else for my heating and cooling needs. read more

On one of the coldest days of year, isn't it always that way, the temp in my home was 42 degrees. I called that morning and a technician was at my home within a couple of hours. He quickly diagnosed the issue as a dirty sensor that wasn't reading so the furnace didn't know when to turn on and how much heat to produce. He cleaned it and recommended a twice yearly cleaning that would both help my system to run better and to protect me from any issues. He was polite and didn't try to pressure me into anything. I am a single mom and finances around December are especially tight. I had been dreading what I was going to be told and worried about how I was going to pay for such a needed service. I was so impressed with Welsch and with their technician. I wasn't pressured, my problem was taken care of quickly and honestly. I will definitely use them again and will recommend the company to my friends. In the day and time when you run into a lot of people who will try to upsale you and take advantage, especially of women, it's great to work with an honest company. Welsch is that company. Thanks again for your quick response. My thermostat is set at 70 and my house is reading 70. So much better than 42. read more
