My HVAC system was at its life and of course didn't want to cool on the hottest day of the year. I was on the search for a new HVAC company, did some research and decided to send a message through Seliga website after hours for a free quote estimate. Neil G. I had the classic August 2021 Friday night breakdown when it was like 103 degrees and 100 % humidity out. This literally happened at like 5:00 pm on a Friday night. The long story short is out of the 10 or 12 Company's that I contacted SELIGA was the only Company that made a definitive commitment. The number of we'll try or if we can or I need to see how my schedule looks on and on and on it went with the exception of SELIGA. Brad my Technician, called me within 30 or 45 minutes. He said Neil I am on a job right now can you give me an hour and I can let you know exactly what time i can get to you tomorrow! Within less than an hour he called back and said we are getting everything coordinated for tomorrow do you mind if i reach back to you later with a definitive time? At 10:00 pm, Brad called me and said how about 7:45-8 am tomorrow work for you? Bingo!!! Done, on time showed me absolutely everything he was doing. He put me thru HVAC 101 with tips, ideas and how he takes care of his own system. I couldn't have been happier with him or SELIGA. To be honest, I didn't even really look at the invoice. I signed up for the maintenance plan and weather you get Dina or Sherry on the phone you will have a pleasant experience. Both are exceptional. If I was in the heating and cooling business, I would pay very close attention to how SELIGA operates. I with confidence and certainty am more than comfortable in saying that by using SELIGA for your heating and cooling needs at a minimum you will be working with a Company that is at least tied for # 1 ! That much I can tell you and in fairness to any and all of their competition. They are simply that good. We've used SELIGA every since we've moved into our current home back in 2016. We've have been extremely satisfied w/ all of their services--from scheduled seasonal maintenance, over the phone troubleshooting off-hours (Brad ), to HELP(!) our furnace &/or Coil, A/C have shot craps in the peak of winter/summer! SELIGA has proven to be extremely responsive, knowledgeable, capable, helpful, & trustworthy. Our first winter (2016) in our new (to us) home, we had a visit from Brad for a seasonal maintenance checkup on our two HVAC systems--5days before Christmas. Upon inspection, Brad discovered that our main furnace unit was pumping out DANGEROUS amounts of carbon monoxide(!)--into the portion of the home that includes the bedroom of our then 4-year old's room. We then also determined that the carbon monoxide detectors installed by the previous homeowners, never had batteries in them; & then w/ fresh batteries installed, STILL didn't work since they were too old! If not for this scheduled maintenance service call we would have continued pumping dangerous levels of carbon monoxide into our home--our son's bedroom--all winter long! Within two days we have a new system installed, & heat back in the main part of our home. Now, fast forward to these past few days, Friday, our coil on our main unit had a substantial leak--the second time in five days. A call to Seliga's office on Monday morning, & we now have a new A/C & coil unit installed & working by Tuesday afternoon! Wayne Belly & Dan Sapp proved to be competent, qualified, & courteous installation HVAC technicians--like all of Seliga's staff have shown to be. I never look forward to these financial curveball expenses in life--AHHH the joys of owning a home(!)--but SELIGA Hearing & Cooling make these situations endurable. read more

I don't normally do this, but I'm writing a review just based on our interactions with the salesperson, Krista, and the owner whose name escapes me (sorry!). Krista, our sales woman, was the best we've met in this industry hands down. Most people get quotes from a maximum of 3 companies if they even bother to go to that trouble. I get quotes from six, and I don't tell any of them that I'm getting that many. This is especially important to me when it's something I don't yet understand or don't often need to interact with; HVAC emergencies are pretty infrequent for us. Seliga's quotes were right in the middle in terms of cost, and the equipment was a slightly higher seer rating than the similarly priced quotes. I had full confidence that if the install went poorly, she would completely take care of us. We decided to push the project off a year because our heater appears to be working just fine and it was a fluke that it started acting up. In general, the cost to remove an old radiant system and install a new forced air system on a single 1200sqft floor was way more than expected so we'll try again next year. It was basically $10k to just replace the radiant system's boiler, or $20k for a forced air furnace, A/C and ducting. We were hoping for around $5k for the boiler or $15k for the whole system. read more

I hired Seliga to install a new water heater after my old one from 1984 finally started leaking out the bottom. From the initial call, to the meeting with John, and finally the installation by Wayne B.; the entire process could not have been smoother and more professional. All entities were very responsive and answered all my questions, some of which were admittedly pretty trivial. Wayne B. did the removal of the old and installation of the new and was very helpful with talking through all my questions. Wayne was diligent to make sure that the new installation was up to code and a job done right, as well as cleaning up the work area and the spill stains from the old unit. Wayne was very friendly and professional and was also very patient with our new pup that was very curious about the new stranger. The cost was very competitive and I was left knowing that I purchased a quality water heater with high quality installation rather than just purchasing a warranty, which was the quoting experience from some of the larger box stores. Finally, everyone that made a visit to the house was very cognizant of social distancing, masks, etc. At no point was there any concern of the hygiene or cleanliness of anybody involved. We just had a new furnace and air conditioner combo installed few weeks ago. We were replacing a 15 year old units that stopped working. I called around many places and had them come give me quotes. But, my experience with Seliga Heating and Cooling was easily the best experience I had that day. The cost was nevertheless expensive for what we had installed air conditioner, furnace, humidifier, and air scrubber. But, in the middle of the road compare to others in price or more closer to best price. What sold me was their communication, professionalism, experience, knowledge, and most important willing to listen to your needs. They were not selling you on installation, but they were providing you product knowledge, options per your needs, and most important providing best customer service. No pressure, but willing to give you options for your needs and make you decide. Compare to other 4 quotes I got, the service was not even remotely close. Last year I called another company to service my A/C. They did nothing and quoted $14k to replace the 28 year old A/C. Then they called me every day for weeks pressuring me. Knowing my A/C is old I knew I would need to get it replaced and this time I called Seliga since their sticker was on my current A/C. The technician Michael P came out and offered me options and was realistic and fair. He said replacement would be $6500 fully installed and there were 0% financing options. Much more reasonable of a price compared to the other company. I went into it thinking I might recharge the refrigerant but decided to get a new unit after all. They could get me in as early as the next day to replace it. But I had them come out next week and I could just choose the day that worked for me which made it very convenient. Brad B and Brady D came out on one of the hottest days of the year. They were punctual, polite, tidy, quiet, and got the new A/C installed and working. We called Seliga to service our 26 year old Heating and Air unit. It was installed and purchased from Seliga. A most polite young man (Chris) arrived, replaced a part to get the A/C unit up and running. We asked him several questions about the repair and he very professionally explained what he did and how long this fix might last, considering the age of the unit. We purchased a new furnace and air system. It is far more efficient, we were qualified for an interest free financing deal, a rebate from Ameren because of the high efficiency units. All of this information was provided by the technician who serviced the old unit. We wish to compliment the entire staff who installed our system. All are polite, respectful, and conscientious. In particular I would like to recognize Chris Mallett, the tech who repaired the unit and introduced us to the new system. Although not assigned to the installation team, Chris made himself available to guide us through the use of the new system. We would certainly use Seliga in the future and recommend them. Seliga has been servicing our AC units for the past 2-3 years and they have always provided excellent service and value. We have had them come out for general service/check-ups, a replacement capacitor, and (most recently) for a new unit, lines, and evaporator coil. Every time the experience has been great and we've been provided with excellent service. Major compliments to Brad, Wayne, and John for providing outstanding customer service and doing very clean and tidy work. Brad has come out for routine check ups and is always giving us good advice and providing us with options that are under budget and best value to us as the customer. He is very honest, ethical, and kind. Wayne and John came out on a Friday and installed a new unit, concrete pad, lines, plenum, and evaporator coil. They arrived on time and knocked the job out with ease. The work they did looked great and was much cleaner than the previous install. Absolutely the best!! I have been a customer for 31 years. Also a member of the priority club. Well worth the investment. In these times when loyalty no longer seems to matter to companies, Seliga went above and beyond our expectations. Our air conditioner was hit by a power surge that blew out the compressor. Seliga expedited the ordering of the parts, completed the repairs,loaned us a portable AC while we were waiting on the parts and simply provided tremendous service as they have for the last 31 years. Technician Chris came to our home after hours to check the unit and diagnose the problem. He stayed in contact with us from the day the air conditioner failed through the ordering of the parts, providing the loaner and performing the repairs. That was not a surprise as he has been with Seliga many years and has been to our home handling our annual heating and air-conditioning service calls and check ups for the past five years. We had a new AC and new Heater installed in our home 6/2020, the technicians that came to our home to install them were professional as well as cordial. My husband called on 4/6/21 and informed Sherry we were not getting cool air through the vents, she scheduled a technician to come out on 4/6/21. The technician Brett was very professional and went right to checking out our thermostats and the unit in the basement were he found the breaker had tripped and he fixed it. Brett also went outside and checked the unit to make sure that dirt had not got in the area that would have tripped it. He took time to explain what can cause that to happen as well as some other things about the thermostat. I want to thank Sherry for scheduling someone to come out as quickly as she did, my husband said she was very cordial on the phone. I purchased two mini splits Ac units from Seliga and I will say I am so glad I did. I was really unsure what to buy - a second AC unit or Mini Splits. My house was built in 1936 and gets up to 150 degrees upstairs and I needed a solution fast. John our sales guy was amazing, from the time he stepped in our house till the job was done. John unlike other sales guys educated us on the whole process, outlined the project, and let us know the pros and cons on what units will work best. Came the day of the install - The installation guys where amazing and so respectful. It was truly a great experience. They did a great job with the install and clean up and left me feeling great about my decision. Final verdict after 2 months - I'm very happy with my purchase. I woke up at 3am, only warm air coming out of my a/c vents. Called Seliga at 6:30am on 5/31/13 and left a message on their regular voice mail & on the "On Call" voice mail. They called me back at 7:30am (they open at 8:00am) and said they would be able to fit me in but could not give me an Am/PM timeline. I said call my cell and I will come from work to meet you. Dan called at 10:45am, we met@ the house and in about 20 minutes he had checked everything, taken apart the outside fan and explained what was going on, as if I was his favorite aunt, not talking down to a woman but expertly answering all my questions. I decided to go ahead with the replacement of the burned out motor which he did. Dan used his tablet so I could pay with my Visa card and then emailed me the receipt. I continue to be a customer of Seliga Heating and Cooling. It is the only company I have hired to check each season/work on/ replace AC's and furnaces since 1988. It is 2019 at this time. The other day, Wayne G. and Andy S. arrived to ready the AC for the upcoming summer. They worked and explained what they did. Both were nice and excellent workers. I have no plans to choose any other company. I have done business with Seliga Heating and Cooling for over 29 years. The St. Louis company has been family owned and operated for close to 90 years. Its employees are professional, pleasant, and knowledgeable. I have never had a complaint about any work they have done. They offer a contract to check units twice a year. If I forget to call to have something checked, they call and remind me. Another Seliga family member has recently taken over the ownership from his dad. I requested an AC check for spring, knowing that my unit was not cooling at the end of summer 2024. I mentioned that if I needed a new unit I would get a second opinion to compare. The technician did his diagnostics and the capacitor had gone bad and they replaced, so better outcome than expected. It was a $600+ expense, which included this Spring and upcoming Fall service checks plus repair parts less 15% (off parts). If you pay for the year, you get the discount on ok parts. *The technician must have unhooked my humidifier line to drain in the basement and forgot to hook it back up or didn't tighten the hose attachment because water had drained out and on the basement floor. Instead of panicking, I hooked it back up tightly. This is why I gave a 4-star rating. I am generally happy with this company and feel like they do not try to upsell customers. This is the 3rd service check from this company to date, but I recommend this company. read more

Seliga employees are the BEST. I have been a Seliga client for many years now. I sold my house and purchase a Condo. I had scheduled to have my HVAC system replaced. In the meantime a leak from the furnace caused damage to my neighbor's condo. I called Seliga and they had someone out the same day to make the repair. The men arrived (John, Wayne, Brad, Joe and Lawson) as scheduled to install the new system. As measurements were being finalized it was understood if the water heater ever needed to be replaced (it was quite old as well), the newer HVAC system would have to be removed because the water heater/furnace closet is so small. The team was able to secure the new water heater and all necessary additional permits the same day. I wish the level of service I have received over the years from Seliga (especially Brad N.) who's managed my HVAC system for years, we could get from all businesses. I've used Seliga H & C since moving into my home in 2013. I pay an annual fee for their Priority Club, which gets me 2 checkups per year, heating & cooling, and priority service if my system breaks. I have the same technician each time so he knows my home & my system. On Friday night 7/17/26 my AC was not running at 8:30 pm. I was in a panic because it was extremely hot and I had a very sick pet at home. There was no way I could stay somewhere else until the morning because of my pet. My tech, Chris was on call, he called me back right away and assured me that all calls received before 10 pm are serviced the same evening. Chris arrived at 9:45 pm straight from another job, and he had my AC running again by 10:30 pm. To say that I was grateful is an understatement. Kudos to Chris and to Seliga, they are the best! Wonderful company! I couldn't figure out how to get google to let me leave another review for my services over the last 2 days. Nate was here over the summer and did a fantastic job fixing our ac on one of the hottest days. He recommended their program for ac/furnace check ups/maintenance twice a year. We are so glad we joined! Nate came back to do our furnace check up and discovered it was starting to leak carbon monoxide. He (gently lol) broke the news that we needed a new furnace and explained the issues, options and quotes for replacement. That service is definitely worth the minimal price. Nate potentially saved a life or two. The very next day (today), Wayne B and Joe F were here promptly at 7 to get started. Both were super nice, professional and finished the job perfectly.
