Hoffmann Brothers is our go to service provider for heating, air conditioning repair, water heater upgrade, etc. The service and staff, the guys doing the work are well trained and courteous. They are very profession. Today we had a tube faucet replaced that had wore out. The part may have been about a hundred dollars. My wife insisted on a plumber replacing it--a relatively easy DIY job I thought, however she's paying for it and wanted a plumber, so be it. The 90 dollar service fee to come out, and parts and labor was well over 600 dollars. Over 600 hundred dollars! Let that sink in. I am disappointed they charged my wife over 650 dollars for a simple straight forward job, that took only a fee minutes. I find that very disappointing. More appropriate and fairer price would be about half that, or less. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called to schedule the service, I specifically explained that the pool outlet needed to be replaced.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During the appointment, the technician had to leave to pick up parts and was gone for over an hour. However, the actual repair took less than an hour to complete, and I do not believe the electrical box and parts used would reasonably account for a charge of approximately $300. Based on the time spent on the repair and the cost of the materials involved, I felt that I was overcharged and asked for a detailed invoice. I was told they do not provide detailed invoices, everything is done on a flat rate. The outlet and the cover at Home Depot are approximately $100. As a result of this experience, I have canceled my monthly plan with Hoffman Brothers. Unfortunately, I do not see the value of maintaining the plan when I could have hired another electrician to replace the outlet at a more reasonable price. read more

we used the home repair service last night. I called at 1:30 am. it really is 24 hours. Enrique was our tech. he was here before 10. had our air working again by noon. than goodness. he was professional, very nice, explained to my husband every step of the repair, and cleaned up after with no problems. i recommend the Home protection service highly. this is the third time we have used it, and they response time is quick, and prices fair. read more

I would not recommend Hoffmann Brothers to anyone. For the past several summers, I have been living in what felt like a personal hell because of an air conditioning system Hoffmann Brothers installed. They replaced a 20-year-old AC unit, yet the new system could never cool a small 900-square-foot home below 78 degrees. The old system cooled the house just fine before it failed, but somehow the brand-new $12,000 replacement couldn't do the same. After the first summer, we called Hoffmann Brothers out to inspect the system. They sent technicians, managers, and specialists, but instead of finding and fixing the problem, every visit seemed focused on finding someone or something else to blame. The most common excuse was that the house lacked insulation. While insulation can certainly affect cooling performance, that explanation made little sense considering the previous 20-year-old system had no problem cooling the exact same house. The following summer, we called again. Once again, no solution. More excuses. More finger-pointing. Still no cold house. Eventually, my friend, who owns the home, moved out of state and rented the house to me. After suffering through another summer, I decided to call Beloman. My sister had recently purchased a system from them for a much larger home, and not only was it about $4,000 less expensive, but it worked flawlessly. Even when she had a minor issue, Beloman responded, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it within a day. When Beloman inspected my system, they quickly identified the problem and provided a written explanation of what needed to be corrected. To their credit, they never badmouthed Hoffmann Brothers. They simply told me that Hoffmann Brothers should be given the opportunity to correct their installation. So I called Hoffmann Brothers again. Rather than accepting responsibility, they refused to acknowledge that the installation could be at fault. Eventually, after a great deal of back-and-forth, they admitted they would perform the correction only if I paid them to do it. The issue? The system had never been properly charged with refrigerant during installation. Modern systems often require additional refrigerant beyond what comes pre-charged from the factory. Ironically, Hoffmann Brothers knew this well enough to write the required charge information inside the unit, yet apparently never completed that final step before leaving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To make matters worse, after becoming frustrated with their refusal to help, they contacted the homeowner and informed him they would no longer communicate with me directly, despite the fact that I was the person living in the house while the owner was five hours away in another state.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This summer, I finally decided enough was enough. I called Beloman back out. Amazingly, they honored the same repair price they had quoted the previous year. Their technician completed the repair, and for the first time since the system was installed, the house is actually cool. I didn't add insulation. I didn't replace weatherstripping. I didn't make any improvements to the house whatsoever. The only thing that changed was having a reputable HVAC company fix what should have been done correctly from the beginning. If you're considering a new HVAC system, learn from my experience. Save yourself the time, money, frustration, and years of discomfort. Call Beloman first. As for Hoffmann Brothers, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

We had several plumbing issues. Dan T. came out and was able to address all of them. He did a great job about cleaning up as he went along, listening to what we needed, and efficiently correcting all the issues. We no longer have a leak where the water enters our home, which is a huge plus, but he also updated our outside hose connection to a newer version than the 37 year old model to better protect us in the winter. And he even fixed the water flow to my refrigerator so I have strong pressure (finally!) for my ice and water through the door features.
