I have been a customer of Superior Optical for over 10 years and have purchased multiple pairs of glasses for every member of my family during that time. All my visits have been very joyful experiences as every person in this place is professional, courteous, warm and caring. I always feel that I am getting expert advice. When I need service or adjustments, they are always dealt with promptly and properly. I have been personally working with Lauren Hughes for nearly all of those years at my main contact although I have dealt with nearly everyone in the store at one time or another, and they are all excellent. Lauren is one or the nicest, most caring, and fun people I have every met. She has great product knowledge and is always looking out for what looks best on me. She truly cares as much or more than I do, which is what you would hope for, having somebody looking out for your best interest. Their lenses are of a very high quality and I have always been happy with the frames we received through the years. I highly recommend Superior Optical, I feel like I am part of the family whenever I walk in the door. That's how they make you feel. Another point is that the staff turnover is very low. My family and I have been getting our glasses made at Superior for 40 years. During this period we've had insurance that covered glasses so we tried other optical shops. Needless to say we returned to Superior. I have special needs as far as my optical needs are concerned and they are the only ones who have always met my needs and those of my family. Recently Lauren helped to solve a problem I was having with new lenses. However all of the people that work there are friendly and patient. Approach with caution!!! I consider myself a very selective and analytical in my purchases. When I selected my frames, I specified that I wanted varilux lenses used. The optician at Superior said no problem. Well after I paid and picked up my glasses, I noticed small issues with the lenses. I went back to Superior with my receipt that did not have varilux itemized on the bill (shame on me for letting this happen), and asked Superior to confirm varilux lenses were used and provide with a new updated bill with varilux listed as the lens used. Well, they refused. My research revealed that they appear to use their own in-house brand for all lens put on glass frames purchased. The have a good selection of glass frame, they are courteous, and generally provide good customer service. But because of this incident with the glass lens, I will not shop their again. read more

If buying glasses is a journey then with Superior Optical - YOU ARE FLYING BUSINESS CLASS. My wife / 2 kids and I purchase glasses from this place. We have been to many stores and this is by far the best in quality and customer service. My wife recently purchased a frame and after using it for a few days she realized that the frame she picked did not suit and fit her well. She called the store and they were ok to change the frame and re-cut the glasses etc and fit it for her and they did not even charge for all this. This is superior customer service. I would def go back to this place and def recommend this to people looking for quality glasses and great after sales service. read more

our 4-year-old needed her first pair of glasses, and this place was phenomenal. The woman who worked with us (Lauren) is one of those truly joyful people who loves what she does, and is really good with kids. She also has a great intuition about what kind of glasses look good on different people. Most importantly for us, she totally knew how to get our 4-year-old (and us as parents!) to adjust to her new glasses. Also, a great selection for kids - plastic-wrap-arounds to bendy-titaniums. They also do all their work right on-site so they can literally go back to fix/adjust. read more

Excellent customer service. Very good selection of frames. (And I looked everywhere for frames... I can be picky about what goes on my face, what can I say!) I wear a very strong prescription, and needed ultra high index lenses, which can be quite expensive. But here they were fairly reasonable. They did not take my eye insurance, but they did offer me a discount instead. (Good thing I asked!) Cheaper than Costco? No. But the selection and customer service make up for it. And Costco does not offer the ultra high index lenses anyway. All businesses should be run like this place. read more

My daughter & I have been to this optical shop twice in the last few months. The 1st time was awesome, the guy who helped us treated us like we were important, & made lots of recommendations. They had a good selection of frames. He knew we were just starting our search, & that didn't seem to alter his customer service. He gave us a business card, but I lost it. When we returned to the store, we didn't see him, so we asked a young woman to help us. For some unknown reason, she was distracted the entire time, & kept leaving us. Her focus was definitely elsewhere, but she never explained her lack of attention. It was really off-putting & akward. She did find out what frames were our favorites the previous visit, but both were gone, & not available. Turnover is quick, & I guess ordering wasn't an option? Unsure. We ended up leaving, & I don't even think she noticed. read more

I found Superior Optical thanks to the recommendation of our daughter's ophthalmologist. We've been in a few times over the years with a specific focus on getting sports glasses for her. Every member of the staff has been pleasant and helpful, the service is efficient, and the eyewear is fantastic (fit and prescription). Working with Alex was great - he made finding the appropriate pair of glasses quick and easy. The staff here could not be any nicer and empathetic. I originally brought my dad in a year or so ago for specialized lenses due to Parkinson's related double vision and today for an adjustment needed to one of his lenses due to optical nerve damage. Alex understood why we were there and took his time to make sure we were comfortable with the options available to us - and when we picked up the adjusted lenses that they were what we were looking for. The only place we will go for glasses! We have been customers for over 10 years and the customer service is outstanding! We don't live in the area, but it's well worth the trip, especially since we had a toddler who needed glasses. If you have small children that need glasses, I'd highly recommend Superior -great selection, and repairs, broken glasses, adjustments are all handled reasonably and without issue. My all time favorite eyeglass store. Randy, the owner, runs a tight professional operation. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to help you find the right frame for your face and personality. The selection is the finest around, constantly changing, you won't see your frames on many other people. In fact, if you pass on a selection it might not be there when you finally decide, although they will order anything if possible. Alex, Julie, Lauren F...all are terrific. My family has shopped here for years. When you walk in you are greeted immediately, which is so important in retail. You won't be ignored here. Most recently I broke my favorite frames. So distraught! I bought a newer version and am thrilled. I could have bought several pairs that I fell in love with, but I am on a budget. Oh, by the way, they have fair prices and I've never ever had a problem with the vision in my glasses. Great place! read more

I absolutely love this place. I have been using them for the past three years and find their service, staff and pricing to be the best. I wear progressive bifocal lenses which at other places run well into the $400's. Not here. They are reasonably priced and fast! I worked with Phillip yesterday for myself and my daughter and left feeling like I'd been to a party! He was helpful, gave us great suggestions and kept us laughing the whole time. I needed a pair of sunglasses (not purchased at the store) repaired. After having lots of bad experiences checking around at other stores, who mostly told me I needed to have bought them there for them to do anything about it, I finally brought them here. The people were extremely helpful and although they did not have the part I needed in the store, offered to have it shipped there. As I am not from the area, they also are shipping the glasses to me after they are repaired in the store. The employees were all very conscientious, even calling to tell me my glasses were shipped. Superior Optical has excellent, competent service and I would highly recommend it. read more

My five year old daughter has had 2 pairs of glasses from Superior Optical, and I must say they not only have a great range of frames but the service has been exceptional. We worked with Jordan on both occasions and he did a wonderful job in guiding us to determine what glasses were suitable size, shape etc, and he was great with her. They have also been great in adjusting the glasses on so many occasions we have needed them to, with no fuss at all. My 10 yo son has also had a pair of glasses from them, recently, he was at a difficult age between children and adult size frames and they were very patient in providing him with a extensive range of frames to try on and select from. My daughter and I came across Superior Optical quite by accident, even though we have lived in the area for many years. She was in search of a very specific pair of sunglasses like the ones she recently lost. Upon entering Superior Optical, we knew we had found the creme de le creme in eyewear. Their collection included many off beat designer, as well as classic, glasses. The store was well lit, spacious and comfortable. We were helped by Lauren, who really knew her product. She was attentive, personable and highly professional. Lauren helped fit my daughter into exactly the sunglasses for which my daughter had been searching; they were customized, in their in house lab, and promptly ready. Needed new nose pads for one pair of my husband's glasses and to get another pair of glasses fixed. Went to the eyeglass place near where we live and they didn't have nose pads (???) and could not fix the glasses. Extremely snobby. Told a friend who then told me to go to Superior Optical in Glenview. They were so nice and very professional and put new nose pads on in no time. They told me what needed to be done to the pair of glasses that needed to be fixed. I highly recommend Superior Optical!!! read more

I have been going to Superior for as long as I've had glasses and that's over 25 years. They are the only place I have purchased prescription glasses as their customer care cannot be beat. Today I walked in with my broken glasses and an old pair and they were able to use both to put together a working pair for me until my doctors appointment in a few weeks.
