It's been about 4 years since I was last here/my last eye exam, and I figured it was time to get an eye exam again just to check in now that I'm officially in my mid-30s and I spend about 15 hours a day staring at a computer screen. Scheduling is super easy, as I used the online system and was able to get an appointment same day. When I got there yesterday, I found out the OD that day wasn't actually in my insurance network (that was on me and my misunderstanding from talking with my insurance company). They re-scheduled me on the spot for the other doc the next day (today) and said they would double check that everything would be fine with my insurance to confirm. The person at the front desk yesterday called me yesterday afternoon to confirm that everything was good to go, which I appreciated. I went in this morning to see Dr. Kelly Aung, who was great. She's super kind and personable and explained everything, listened to my questions/concerns, and updated my readers prescription. It was very efficient (but not rushed at all), and convenient. I'd have no hesitation to come back here again the next time I need an exam. read more

Dr. Banna was great. He explained things to me I never had another doctor do. He was very nice and patient when I asked question. The tech who did a few test before I saw the doctor was great as well. ( I didn't get her name though) she was such a kind disposition. My new glasses are great. Brittney was incredibly helpful explaining the always complicated insurance portion and helping me decided on 2 pair of Ray-Ban glasses. I don't know why I waited so long to use target. Great prices and I even got a " cartwheel " deal out of it. read more

For starters they could provide better service. I waited a month for my new glasses and finally called. The lee time for new glasses was given as 2 weeks. The woman who answered the phone said they were in. I asked her why no one called me. She couldn't tell me. There's more to this story but suffice it to say they are simply not crossing the "Ts". I have only had great experiences with Dr. Banna and his staff at the Glenview location. The office has the newest technology (ie, xray scan of eye) and he goes above and beyond in spending his time to describe everything in detail in relation to your overall eye health. This location has a great selection of reasonably-priced frames as well and doesn't push upselling. I switched over a few years ago from a standalone practice in Northbrook (where there weren't any frames under $300) and am very happy I made the switch. read more

They have a lot of cute designer frames here but the customer service is truly horrible. I came in with a copy of my full prescription, doctors info, everything, it was on my phone. I could easy email it over but they refused to take it. They said they needed the doctors office to fax it over. I had my doctors office on the line sending the fax and Target opticals direct line was busy and the optician did absolutely noting to help. I had all my insurance info and ready to buy a pair of glasses that day. The optician just had a totally off putting, "do not bother me" attitude, didn't even ask about insurance info either. She literally just stood there and looked at me as I was trying to get some clarity as to how I could purchase a pair of glasses from this place. They literally do not want to sell glasses. read more

Did you know? Target has an optical store inside open until 8pm. I booked my eye appointment at different place and my husband told me to cancel the other place and give this place a shot. He said he really enjoyed his experience and thought I should check it out. My expectations started off very low for retail optical locations and my actual experience ended up as one of the best eye exams I've ever had. The technology is fantastic. All the machines are state of the art and make the process more clear. Lots of times I can't tell between one and two and I just pick one because it must be about the same. The technology allows you to compare really quickly and make sure you're getting the right prescription. Also, Dr. Pete is extremely friendly and thorough, not pushy at all and even gave out samples for eye lid scrubs. I really enjoyed the experience and will be back next year. The hours are great especially with evening and weekend availability. read more

I needed polycarbonate lenses to go MTO my rayban frames. The target woman was standoffish when I asked about using my own frames. $270 for single lens. I told her I just bought lens for another rayban and paid $145 including tax at Walmart optical. That's my price she said. Will you match Walmarts price? (I had the receipt to show her). We don't match pricing she said. Did you want the lenses or not she said impatiently. No thanks I said and I'll be sure to mention my experience on Yelp. Walmart all the way! read more

I was badly in need for a eye exam for my contacts as I am running out or supplies and wanted to make sure everting is good before I order. I've searched through different places but most of the close early and is no suitable for my hours. Luckily I've found this place(Thank you Google) and not until then I knew Target had optical facility too. My day was tiring and I headed there hesitantly thinking to cancel but I was afraid I might not find anything else sooner. The place was neat and clean. The lady at the reception( If I wasn't wrong her name is Kami..sorry if I've mis-spelt it) was very nice and pleasant. And the most importantly, Dr. Pete ...he was absolutely fantastic. Pleasant and very welcoming. The process was detailed and smooth. Place was modern with all hitech infrastructure. He explained well throughout the process, thorough and patient. It didn't feel like I was visiting that place for the first time. As the name suits to itself.. "Family". He did also gave me suggestions for the dryness of my eyes(As well as a sample to try it too). I was very glad I found and walked into the place. Mu insurance doesn't cover my optical so I've got pay from my pocket. I've got my regular eye exam for contacts and also got dilation done and it costed me around $130 which is pretty decent I thought. This is a must visit place if you want your eyes to be in good hands. Highly recommended and I believe this facility is new to the neighborhood. I wish all the very best to them !! read more

I had no issues with the doctor and getting my prescription, but once I picked up my glasses the first time after continuously having to call in if they were ready after being told they would inform me. The lenses were all scratched up within days. And I had done nothing but lightly wear them.. I had to come in 4 times now to get the lenses replaced and I keep having the same problem. I got the "best lenses" they had to offer and still had problems with terrible, very noticable scratches...I feel foolish for wasting my money. read more

Terrible customer service. They messed up my contacts order twice and made me come in each time to try and fix the issue. You would think that after the first time they made the mistake, they would try not to make the same mistake again. After asking if they could provide any convenience to me, they said there was nothing they could do but expedite the shipping after I came in and returned the wrong lenses. It's a shame because I did have a pleasant experience with Dr Pete for my exam, however I will be purchasing my contacts and glasses elsewhere in the future. read more

I called to schedule an annual eye exam. I was told that I couldn't and none were available. I had to do a double take and yes they confirmed we none are available. Only after I questioned again, completely baffled, did someone say that they had available appointments on Saturday Jan 1. So.... Did they mean that none were available this week?! I don't know- but it seemed very brusque and rude the way they handled that call. In the end, after I cleared up that there was an appointment this Saturday, the lady on the phone finally took my insurance info and promised to call me back (which- it's been a couple hours and none yet- but maybe they'll actually call back). I'm definitely going elsewhere. I don't have the energy for this kind of treatment. read more

Buyer beware! I went to purchase frames from someone who is clearly working off commission. I picked out the frames I wanted, she took my insurance info, and told me the final price. I was shocked at how high it was. Luckily, I had forgotten my credit card so decided to purchase the frames online. Lo and behold, there are MULTIPLE options for lenses and the ones she quoted me were the most expensive. She probably also included the insurance plan that I am not interested in. I was not told there were multiple lens options at all-other than the blue light add-on. What shady business practices! read more

It's been a long while since I've gotten an eye exam and was looking for an new eye doctor. I was shopping at Target and saw they opened up a new optical. I decided to stop by and give them a chance and was greeted by Adrian who was helpful in answering my questions about my insurance. He got me in immediately to see the doctor - Dr. Kelly Aung, whom was very warm and friendly and addressed all my concerns with my eyes. Keep in mind - I've always had a tough time with astigmatism contact lenses and she took her time to address my needs and we found a pair that fit GREAT and the vision is super clear! I wish I've seen her years before! After the exam, Adrian helped me with my glasses and got me on my way! They were pleasant and easy to deal with and I would definitely recommend coming to this Target Optical! read more

Truly the worst experience I've ever had - find an actual optometrist and go there instead. They gave me the wrong prescription of contacts while I was still dilated, then mailed me the wrong prescription again TWICE to two separate addresses, before finally figuring out how to send me my accurate prescription almost a month later. Took maybe 10 phone calls since they never returned calls. Yikes. read more

Awful! Messed up my prescription by putting the wrong numbers in the compute and had to send out my glasses again. Then misplaced my glasses and manager had no idea what happened. They finally found my glasses and said it will take another 10 days to get them back. It will be 30 days by the time I get them back. Extremely incompetent people. read more

What a pleasant trip to the eye doctor for myself and my two girls. Doctor Kelly was very kind and patient with my 3 yr old and 5 yr old. She was very thorough and explained why my 3 yr old does not have 20/20 vision and reassured me that it is actually normal. What I also appreciated was how clean and high tech the equipment and office was. Forget the big chains that may cost a little less but spend little time with you and have you waiting around because they over booked. I am happy to have found a doctor and a facility that I can keep bringing my family for years to come! read more

This place was fantastic! The woman at the front desk was incredibly kind and made sure to answer all of my questions when I scheduled my appointment and then returned for my actual visit. Dr. Aung was wonderful. She spent a good amount of time learning about my history. She really worked with me to find the right contact lens prescription and fit and had me try on several to make sure we got it right. I walked out with both an eyeglass and contact lens prescription and absolutely NO pressure to buy anything that day. The price was phenomenal. Even better- I had to bring my toddler with me and everyone was super accommodating and friendly with him. I will definitely be back! read more
