I first brought my kids here in 2008 for general eye check ups. My son started needing prescription glasses and contact lenses in 2014 and we have been coming yearly at Chicago My Optical every since. We even tried another optical clinic for one year but we were not satisfied with the service and products we have received. This was why we have been loyal to CMO. The whole place has been well maintained, plenty of space to browse through the glasses, and the examination rooms were always clean and organized. I've been here a couple times now and both times were good experiences. While this place mostly caters towards the Korean population in Chicagoland, their staff speaks English so don't feel intimidated to come here! I know because I'm Korean American, but I have the Korean language skills of a 1st grader so English is definitely my preferred language. My first visit here, I wanted to get my aviators with some prescription lenses and they took care of that easily. The lenses came in a week and boom, I now didn't need to wear contacts with my favorite sunglasses. For my second visit, I needed a repair job done. The nosepad arm broke off my aviators, so I needed a place that could solder/weld the metal arm back on to the metal frame. To my dismay I couldn't find any place. Not lenscrafters, not glasses stores in the city, not even places back at home in Atlanta (where I'm from). Thankfully My Optical pulled through and they do offer that service! It's been my experience that it's better for Asians to go to an Asian glasses store. The frames they offer just fit our faces better since most Asians have low nose bridges. It seems like this place keeps that in mind when they stock their frames. read more

Over the years I have received great service from these folks at acceptable prices. They have been able to accommodate any special requests I've made and have completed them in a timely manner. In this age of buy everything on the internet cheaper, I cannot stress the importance of being able to try on different frames and have someone "tune" the glasses to your face and shape size. I've been wearing glasses for over twenty years and demand comfort and durability and My Optical has been providing exactly that for over five years now for me. I have been coming here since I was in elementary school when they were still at the old location on Foster/Pulaski. I am an adult now and still coming here for my contacts and eye glass needs at the new location in Niles. The staff is wonderful and patient. I'm not the easiest customer. The store is clean and bright. The layout is great for frame shopping. I don't think you can better selection ofeye glass frames. They something for everyone. I wanted funky red artsy type frames and I found them. I have watched their business grow as they have seen me grow into an adult. The reason for me writing a review now is because I called to have my contacts ready for pick up today and I was told they didn't have them in stock at this time but can order it. Well, it's my last pair of contacts and had them in for a while and my eyeball is starting to sting. The gal said, no worries, she had some trial ones I can use. Awesome service. I've been coming here since as long as I've been wearing glasses. Back then they were located on foster and Pulaski. I live in LOs Angeles yet I still come here for my glasses and contacts. The selection of frames are pretty good especially if you're looking for high end designers. I just wish they carried Chanel! The service is great! They can usually give me my glasses the same day if I don't get a specialized lens. The owner is really great at molding the frames to make the glasses got comfortably. read more

My mom went there 3 times to get her glasses fixed. This place charged her $700, which i strongly believe they over charged her. But my mom was getting a massive headache. Last Tuesday, she went back to that place and the owner/manager was being so highly rude and refused to fix it for her. My opinion to this is that it felt like he didn't give a damn if my mom continues to get headache from it, which is really upsetting. I'm not trying to assume anything, but I'm guessing he was acting like that toward her because she can't speak English and don't know any better how the business industry goes. But when I called that place like few minutes ago, he denied he never said that to her and told me their office policy is, which I don't care about. So, I'm assuming he's twisting everything around because I spoke to him in English. Top of that, he was so unfriendly, has an attitude, and rude. If he don't like his job, he should find another job that will suit his personality. I would never recommend this place to anyone because their service was so terrible and disrespectful. Also, I already reported to the BBB (Better Business Bureau). read more

Save your money and headache. This store does not know how to make rimless glasses. My rim less glass came out uneven, the left lens is 2mm larger. I paid for premium AR and it came out just awful. Most of all, these people will not issue a refund or stand behind their workmanship and products. Run away from this place as fast as you can. It's NOT worth your time. i came originally for contacts. I usually get the two week disposables but they were trying to upsell by only offering me the 30 day and night which is triple the price. I politely refused saying I don't want that. Then, knowing they were a little upset that I didn't take their recommendation, the lady (young Kim) said "OK!! we do not have the two week contacts." So I suggested if they had any samples of the two weeks and she hesitated, "ummmmmmm......" After practically begging her if she has any, she went to the back and got a pair for me. As she was handing it to me, she started going on about how I should buy the 30 days contact since she's hooking me up with the two week sample. I told her I didn't want the expensive one because I'm on a tight budget. She scoffs at me and then that's when it went bad. I told her stop being so rude to your customers. She then tries grabbing my sample contacts back out of my hand and I was pulling back. She ended up Grabbing my arm and I was trying to head out. She told her fellow employee to lock the doors and right away the doors were locked from the inside. I was by myself and what was going on was them taking me to the ground ripping the contacts out of my hand. I just gave up and let them take it away because at this point the owner lady was sitting on top of me while her employee was hitting my hands to let go of the free samples they already gave to me. I was yelling "heeellllllppppp" and that's when one of them said ok that's enough, let her go. I ran to unlock the doors myself and ran out crying because I couldn't believe what happened. I immediately call the police and of course those two had a total different story saying I was a thief. So I suggested they go and look over the video camera they have for security. And what do you know, the owner lady refuses to show it because she says it doesn't work, it's just for show. I asked the cop if he can go check to see if she's lying because that's all she's been doing. He asked her and she said no. So the cop explains to me if that's her answer he can not. I told him that he should still go check because I was assaulted. But for some reason, I think that the Niles police dept. helps out their retail community more than the customers in cases like this. The cop just wrote out a report and that was the end of it. Unbelievable. read more
