Came here a year or so ago and received fantastic service from everyone, especially Elvira. Got a pair of Ray-Ban's (Wayfarer's of course) and a slick pair Polo's. Rolled over on the Polo's and went in for an adjustment when they were super busy. Just Olga & Elvie. Not only did I get an excellent adjustment from the glasses tech (great guy), but I brought in a broken case that was pretty much never used. Elvie graciously replaced it and let me take the broken one with me to see if I could get it fixed elsewhere. Great job everybody! Olga was so incredibly helpful with choosing the right frames! She greeted us right when we walked in even though she was currently helping someone else and directed us to the wall of glasses and said to take a look and she'd be right with us. I was expecting to get another pair of the same old boring glasses, but thanks to her suggestions and expertise I ended up loving and getting frames I never thought I would! She quickly found frames based off of my description of what I was looking for, and helped narrow down the options. Once I decided on a pair, she pulled up my insurance super fast and (very impressively) calculated the cost of everything in what seemed to be about 5 seconds. She was very understanding of personal style/expression, and I didn't feel an ounce of judgement. She was also very respectful of costs, and gave me the price breakdown of my two favorite frame options for me to decide between, free of any pressure. My daughter and I went into Village Crossing Optical yesterday to replace my lenses for my reading glasses. The attendant told me it would be $100. I asked her about my insurance and she said that she didn't think that I wanted to use it. I then asked her what was insurance for if not to use and she ignored my question. I'm going to be completely honest here. I never planned on going to Pearle Vision. I went to another business closer to my house to buy glasses from that I had previously purchased glasses from and the woman was absolutely terrible! She was rude, insensitive and acted like I was a burden. It made me want to give and purchase glasses online. Instead, I drove over to this Pearle Vision in Skokie. I walked in on a Sunday and almost immediately was greeted by the floor manager (I think her name was Sarah?). She was incredibly helpful and kind. I told her what style I liked and she showed me different frames and sizes in the style I desired. She was courteous and willing to help me find something I wanted. Every pair was perfect with the next one being even better. I had 3 pairs that I loved and ended up choosing the Prada Linea Rossa glasses below. I did not purchase the glasses that day, but I told her I would be back. I went back a couple of days later and was helped by Elvi who walked me through the purchase and anything additional I may need on the lenses. I don't have vision insurance, but they worked with me on my discount plan so I didn't feel like I was overspending. Once again, I felt like they treated me like a friend and cared about what I wanted and weren't doing it for the sale. I love my glasses and I love the service that I have received. Already, I have went back to thank them and had some minor repairs done which they did in a few minutes while I waited. This staff is one of the best that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with and I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family for future visits. This was the best glasses shopping experience that I have ever had. I've been wearing glasses now for a little over ten years and the whole process can be daunting and overwhelming to say the least. And the prices will make a grown person cry. When I walked into the lid location for my 4:30pm Friday appointment I was promptly greeted and almost instantly swept into my appointment with the optometrist. I appreciated the professional healthcare and encouragement concerning my overall health. Once I was finally at the "pick out your glasses " phase, Sara, the floor man manager took care of me. When I say care, that's what I mean. She patiently advised me while helping me pick out several glasses options until I narrowed it down to two. Once I decided on two pairs she laid out all of my "extra", the what, why and the cost. Although that part hurt, it was presented in the best possible way. Sara Alvarez was the best(she handled many of us customers and employee questions with a sweet spirit and a smile. While I did rate this 4 stars, I do realize that their prices are high and you could probably find better prices elsewhere (this is one of many higher priced eyeglass chains out there) My rating is based on selection and service. They have a great selection for men, women and children. From designer glasses to basic eyeglasses, there are many to choose from. The service is excellent, from the knowledge of the employees to the excellent customer service, they were great. I would definitely recommend checking them out when you are looking for a new pair of eyeglasses. For the record, I asked for extra active lenses (which they said they could get over the phone) but ended up getting regular transition lenses (that they talked me in to when I was at the store). This location is my hero! After major eye surgery, my vision had changed drastically and I was stuck with my old bogus glasses. The second that my optometrist cleared me for a new (much stronger) prescription, I was desperate to find new glasses and wanted them the SAME DAY. This was a far more challenging task than I had imagined. I also had a destination wedding to attend in 4 days and vision was my #1 priority. I called over 15 different chains and was told that nobody would have such a strong prescription in stock. A one to two week wait to properly see again was simply not an option for me. Thankfully, a friend insisted on Pearle (she advised that "ONLY the Village Crossing location would do.") Sure enough, she was right! Not only did they have my crazy prescription in stock, but after hearing my sob story, the entire staff cheered with me when they figured out a way to get my new glasses to me in 1 HOUR! OMG! Elvie was my right hand woman in finding me the cutest glasses and made sure I got the best deal possible. She also hooked me up with prescription sunglasses for a great price. An hour later on the dot, Elvie and her amazing team sent me off with cheers and hugs and VISION! She even followed up a few days later to make sure I was happy and to wish me a great trip. Do not get your glasses here. I got my son's glasses here as his regular opthamologist doesn't accept our vision coverage (his exams are covered as medical necessity through our health insurance) for glasses. When they were picked up, the frames were gouged and the lenses looked like they were filthy...but when we tried to clean them off they still looked filthy. They were horribly scratched within 2 days. We ended up having to get a new set of lenses at his eye doctors office (which we should have done in the first place.) We will never return to this Pearle Vision and won't be recommending them to anybody. read more

I went in for the first time last January for my annual eye exam. I was not planning on getting my contact lenses in this office, because I just assume it's more expensive. As soon as I told that to the person helping me (can't remember her name), she said that she can actually use my "FRAME" allowance to augment my contact lens allowance. I was doubtful, and I asked the lady if this was allowed. She acted like she was working on her computer, trying to see if the system will allow her to use my frame allowance, and of course, she said it did! She said she can give me 9 pairs of monthly lenses, using my contact lens allowance ($200) AND my frame allowance ($150). So there I was, thinking I don't use contact lenses everyday anyway, I can actually make those last for a year...There it goes, I bought the contact lenses in their office. I don't have to pay anything anyway, thinking I was just maximizing my contact lens AND FRAME allowance. I picked up the lenses a few days later, and they made me sign a paper saying that I received 4 boxes of contact lenses. I realized later on, that yes, they gave me 4 boxes (2 boxes with 6 lenses each) and 2 more boxes (WITH 3 FREE TRIAL LENSES EACH) - which yes, gives me 9 pairs of lenses. The free trial boxes put me off when I got home. I thought, hmm, this is shady, this means I really just bought six months' worth of lenses, and not nine. I let that go. I am busy and don't have a lot of time to deal with this. Well, earlier this month, I called my insurance and asked if my $150 frame allowance have actually been used. My insurance said yes, I still have it, and that the only claim made from my insurance was for the annual exam and contact lenses worth $200. I realized this person who was helping me at Pearle Vision did not me tell the truth (she claimed that she can actually use my frame allowance, to get additional contact lenses) so I buy my lenses from them. My insurance said this is never allowed - using your frame allowance to buy contact lenses, or vice versa. I inquired about these kinds of practices to my insurance - and they advised me to file a report. It is very frustrating that this office gives inaccurate information in your face so they can make their money. How many people fall for this every day? The staff here is really friendly; but I don't appreciate that they give patients wrong information, while acting really helpful in maximizing your benefits. I've been coming to this exact location for almost 5 years now. Everyone here is really helpful as well as knowledgable! The saleswomen know exactly what works for each face in regards to style and shape. Also, the optometrist is great with people of all ages and has an eye for detail. But my overall sole reason for coming to this place in particular is due to their WIDE SELECTION of FASHIONABLE frames (this is something to be admired). Personally, if I can get everything done at one place that is capable of serving me with quality merchandise and customer service, it doesn't get any better. My entire family goes to this Pearle Vision, and we have never had a problem. Quite the opposite. The doctors working there are nice, knowledgeable, and very accomodating. The staff take their time with you, choosing frames and giving honest opinions on how they look. There's never a feeling that you are being rushed or sold to - it's a very pleasant experience. They are quick about ordering contacts and/or anything else that needs ordering and are able to make a pair of glasses right in the store (if they're not complicated lenses/bifocals). Lovely group of ladies! Immensely helpful, patient, and informative for a guy new to the glasses world (first in my entire family to get glasses). I did the whole 9 yards: saw the doctor, did the eye exam, etc etc, and the most challenging (but fun) part was picking my frames! That's how relaxed and easy the entire staff made my experience. I was skeptical about getting glasses from a "chain brand" oddly enough. I guess chains can feel impersonal at times and I didn't want that experience for something so important (I wasn't ordering a cheeseburger after all! lol).
