Eat here regularly and it's always great, but our to go order last night was terrible. Sweet potato fries were all tiny pieces, we're talking less than an inch long and ice cold as well. And we got there before the 15-20 minute window so it wasn't like we just left them sitting there. I also asked for extra bbq sauce and we got NONE. Best burger place in Sonoma county hands down. It was so good I came back again after two days. The service is good and the food is even better. Our server Ben gave us a good recommendation, and we loved it. If you love burgers as much as I do this place is for you. We were so excited to try this new place. All started out well. It was beautiful inside and our server was great. But after about 45 minutes and our 3rd round of drinks, I had to ask, what is up with our food? I looked around and the 5 tables that had come in after us all had their food and all we had received was a large order of fries and onion rings that we didn't even order. Mind you I have 2 toddlers ages 2 & 3 who are just over it and ready to go now, we are full of fries, we didn't want and it was over an hour before we got our food. They said the cook mixed up our tickets and comped our sides. Food that finally came was not even good. Just over fried really slow fast food. The ambiance here is great! Super cute and very clean! The woman waitress was very friendly, helpful, and warm. She liked her job and you could tell- she was not our waitress but she helped our table more than the guy waiter who was supposed to be assigned to our table. He left a lot to be desired; very quiet talker- could barely hear him, not helpful, no refills, etc. Now the important part, the food- it was bad! So sorry to say! The chili was COLD and the burgers were not good at all! There was garlic in the mushrooms for the mushroom swiss, which tasted BAD- not fresh tasting. I hate to say it, but for the prices, I am so sorry but it was not what was expected. Just wanted to bite into a nice juicy burger and that didnt happen. Maybe next time will be better? read more

Sadly disappointed. Our family are total fans of Superburger. In fact my youngest son and I were eating at the Penngrove Superburger when we had to evacuate because of the fire. Yesterday (11/8/15) my husband called me excited stating that it looked like the new Superburger was open. I told him we would check it when I got home from work and take the kids for a late dinner if they were open. We headed over when I got home from work and were delighter to see the open sign on and several tables with guest. As we pulled up we saw the hosting seating a couple at table inform of the window. We jumped out with our son already shouting out his menu selection. We walked in and it was 9:02 the hostess came ready to seat us when another young lady obviously over the hostess pulled her aside. The hostess then walked back to us with the other girl behind her. She apologized and said that they would not be able to serve us because it was (and she actually said) it was 9:02 and they closed at 9:00. She acknowledge the couple they had just sat before us, she stated the couple they just sat came right before 9:00 and is why they were serving them. I can fully understand if there was no one in the restaurant and the kitchen already started to shut down the kitchen. This was not the case. There were 4 tables with one table that the order had not even been taken. I am a production manager for a culinary school and catering company and have been in the food industry for decades. I don't believe if the owner was there or a manager who really cared about customer service would have turned our business away. We will return and hopefully after reading this review the owner and GM will retrain their staff and educate them about customer service or they will not last long. We want to support our local businesses but if we receive poor service we will take our money and appetites else where. read more

This restaurant has potential, but based on their opening weekend, there are a number of things that need to be addressed. I hope that the owner reads the reviews here. The old Penngrove Superburger location was very popular for a few reasons: not only did they have phenomenal, huge burgers, but you were usually seated early, service was quick, the burgers were always cooked correctly, and you knew that if you were hungry, you were going to get a delicious burger, possibly a beer or milkshake, and fries in a reasonable amount of time. The people serving you were experienced, and everything was executed well. If the new location is going to stay afloat, they are going to need to meet these same criteria. We went to Superburger on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe Superburger was attempting a soft opening, but they were sorely understaffed. They were making people wait for 15-20 minutes before being seated, and there were a LOT of empty tables throughout the restaurant. It didn't help to see waitresses standing around, chatting, while we were standing, waiting for a table that was already empty. The waitresses, while I'm sure they intended well, are very inexperienced and young. They are also very slow--they move very slowly. I chalk this up to poor training. We waited about 20 minutes just to get beer, and the waitress hadn't yet taken our main order. I watched as she poured our beers, and then let the foam dissipate. She did this about five times--she was obviously never trained to pour a beer, or the keg lines are not set up correctly. When she finally brought our beers, she blamed it on being "super slammed" (slammed or not, pouring a beer takes the same amount of time). Then, she forgot to take our order, so we had to remind her. After putting in our order, our burgers came out in a reasonable amount of time, but by that time, we had waited 45+ minutes for a burger overall. The place wasn't busy enough to justify this (not enough people were seated!). I had asked that my burger be medium, and it came out well done. Also, they weren't quite as large as they used to be at the old location, and they skimp on the toppings when compared to the old location. At the end of our meal, she charged us for somebody else's meal (and vice versa), so we had to wait another 15 minutes while she addressed that issue. Basically, they are stripping many qualities that made them popular to begin with. I'm giving them two stars because I'm hoping that this place gets better, and I'm chalking this up to a hectic opening weekend. I wanted to talk to the owner, but the waitress told me that he wasn't at the restaurant. If I have a better experience next time, then I will update my review. read more

As far as food goes, this place is good, besides their fries which are always really bland for my taste. But the burgers are great, as are the tots and onion rings. I've come here several times since they've opened and my experiences have been very good. Fast forward to last night when my wife called to place a to-go order and was told that they weren't taking to-go orders because of the high volume of customers dining in. What the hell is that? Turning business away because your cooks can't put food in a to-go box instead of on a plate? We would've gladly waited extra time if need be. I've never experienced customer service quite like that in any restaurant in my life. It makes me never want to go here again just out of principal. We have two kids, one of which was born just days ago and we weren't in a position to go there, sit down and have dinner. And basically what we were told is "tough shit." That just doesn't seem like a good way to treat your customers, especially ones that frequent your establish often. Or used to anyway. read more

GREAT place! Two people can be in and out under $40 with a pretty good tip. I had the Lahaina burger, my husband had the Spring Streer. Both were fantastic! They offer to downsize or upsize your patty for an extra $2 or $2 less- so my husband and I did both and came out even. Fast, clean and adorable servers who are really doing great for a new place. This is the kinda place you go like once or twice a year for a burger because you will regret the calories but so tasty! The only negative would be my burger was filled with sauce. The food is wonderful, we've been going to Superburger at the Santa Rosa location and at the old Penngrove shop for year. We were sad when the Penngrove store was lost to fire and were happy to see it rise again in Cotati Tonight was my first visit to the new location and I was very much looking forward to it. When we arrived about 6:25 the place was packed, which is understandable considering how good the food is. We were a party of two with three groups of four or more ahead of us. The young lady working the counter took my name and let us know, correctly that it would be a 20-25 minute wait for a table. Fine. About ten minutes after we arrived a party of five came in behind us. They gave their name and were told, clearly that it would be 25-30 minutes. About the same time the first group in line ahead of us, a party of five, was seated. Great, I thought, the line gets shorter. About five minutes later I saw an older gent from the group that came in behind us approach the staff member who was apparently the floor manager. I don't read lips but the mannerisms and gestures both made told me what was coming. The floor manager, never checked the wait list. He had one of the staff expedite the clean up of a table that had just cleared and instructed her to seat the group that came in behind us. She did as she was told. The groups that were ahead of us were apparently not aware they had just gotten screwed by a selfish jackal and his friends. I approached the floor manager at the counter and told him that the group he had just seated had come in behind us and two other groups and that he had jumped them to a table in front of three groups who had been waiting longer than they had. He told me that the man had said "we've been waiting forever", and I told him the truth that they'd been waiting ten minutes at most, that he had not only been lied to he hadn't confirmed on the wait list what the truth was. I told him he lost me as a customer at that point. He offered to comp my meal and I asked him "are you going to comp these two groups as well that you just screwed"? I left and I won't be back anytime soon. That was an example of the most reprehensible service a restaurant can give, and Superburger Cotati gave it tonight. Superburger is the best burger within a couple hundred miles, easily. But they need to get their stuff in one bag at the Cotati, before I'll ever go back. read more

Finally I got to try this establishment out, so many of my friends have been raving about this place and now I can finally be part of the "rave." Split the deluxe lamb burger and the bbq burger. Both cooked to perfection, the bun was light and fluffy and each burger was layered with just the perfect amount of sauce and accompaniments that allowed the meat to shine. The garlic fries and onion rings were yummy and our waitress was all about customer service. I asked if she could bring out all the dipping sauces for the fries and onion rings and she was more then happy to oblige. All 5 sauces were amazing - specifically the bbq and thousand island. We ate here today 3 burgers and a kids meal. Our sons chicken strips were slimy and Luke warm and his fries were stale and Luke warm. I had the mushroom burger it was cold and almost raw inside. They took it off the bill and offered a new one I declined I do not eat under cooked hamburger. My husband and other sons meal were fine just so-so. Mediocrity abounds in superburger from the moment I walked in until I left. I walked into a busy restaurant scene with a sign that said please wait to be seated. So I waited. And waited. After about 15 minutes the sporadic hostess finally showed up and put my name on the short list. Let me pause to say that I know this is a relatively new location, and the kinks are still being worked out but this is a brutally honest review. After sitting down things seem to be moving a little bit smoother. I immediately got the menu immediately placed my drink order and my food order shortly after that. Now I generally like to dine solo when I'm trying the place out for the first time, in order to truly see how the restaurant runs without distractions. So after my order was placed once again came too waiting game. My food order was a specialty order, so I'm not going to knock points off for that taking a little while, in fact my food got there a bit quicker than I expected. My food took about 15 minutes maybe 10, but so did my drink which is a big problem. There is no excuse in a restaurant with approximately 6 servers and maybe 15 tables for a drink to take 10 minutes. I ordered the largest burger in an attempt to try their meat. When I made the order there was no question of how I wanted the burger done. Which set off alarm bells in my head. When I got my burger it was a definite medium well. I normally have my burgers medium rare, so this is a problem. I don't know if it's something about the way they cook the burgers at super burger or what, but if you open a restaurant to me every single person wants their meat for done the same way that may cause issue. Overall the food wasn't bad, but if you're to market yourself as a gourmet burger place, the inability to choose how you want your burger done is critical. 6 out of 10 overall, but with a lot of room for improvement on small things, easily fixable things. The food may remain, in my opinion, flawed for not being able to choose your preference, but there's a lot of space for improvement in the restaurant itself. I truly hope this place improves itself and becomes a wonderful burger destination for the citizens of Cotati, but for right now it's just a whole lot of nothing in my eyes. read more

I went here to meet a friend for lunch, but he never showed up (or we just missed each other). Superburgers is not a big place, but it's cozy & the staff is friendly. I ordered a chili burgers with a small order of tator tats. When the tats arrived, it looked like a pound worth. I asked the waitress if this was the small order & she said "yup". The small order is enough to share with two or three people, unless they're linebackers. Then the burger arrived & it was a good size serving of chili, not a wimpy portion like most restaurants. The burger was cooked just right & the buns were toasted (a plus in my book). I could only finish half of my burger & made a slight dent in the pile of tator tats. I was able to get all of my leftover in the tiny box & it was overflowing. I could make a hell of an omelet out of this. The only downfall of this meal was the bill: $10 for the burger, $4 for the tats & $2.75 for the drink. With tax & tip, the total bill was just over $21, for just one person. Was it good, yes. Was it expensive, I think so. Would I come here again, only when I get my tax refund. But it was yummy. read more

I love coming here. The staff are very friendly. Food is always great. The milkshakes are to die for. I highly recommend the chocolate malts. Simple, but delicious. They also have a ton of other flavors from coffee, to strawberry, and they are all amazing. They are a little pricey. A dinner for 2 with drinks will run you about $30-$35. Superburger? Super expensive and not very good food. We had a cheeseburger, garlic fries, a kids combo, and a milkshake. Total was $30. The garlic fries were light on the garlic, heavy on the standard parmesan. The burger was served on a dry bun with iceberg lettuce, a slice of tomato, red onion and pickles on the side. The patty and cheese were ok. The chocolate shake was great and ample. 2 adults could enjoy sharing one. Our waitress was nice. But to be honest, The Habit is better and cheaper. read more

The original Superburger is back! I was so disappointed when the one in Penngrove changed ownership because it really took a dive. Since they opened up in Cotati, they really have improved ten-fold. The menu is expanded, and brings back some of the other burgers that fell off the menu after the ownership change. Great burgers, some of the best onion rings. Whenever I'm craving a good burger and delicious fries/onion rings/shake I come here! I've even tried their grilled cheese and tator tots (from the kids menu) and I kid you not, it was downright amazing! My boyfriend and I first started going to the Pennegrove location when we used to live in the area, and now even though we live in the east bay, we make it a point to come up to the north bay JUST for the burgers when we're looking for a day getaway. We try to stop by not during peak hours because it can get a little busy at times. This place is a bit more expensive than the typical burger joint, but, the portions are large and the food is consistently VERY good. The staff is super friendly and always treats me with respect and accommodate my needs whenever I have a service dog in training with me or friends of mine tag along with their service dogs. The location is quaint, clean, and has a great vibe. It's rare to find a place where you can joke with the staff and feel like a regular and that's how I feel at Superburger. It's my favorite burger place - hands down! read more

The food at both places is excellent, but the dining room in Cotati is much better for sitting down for a meal. It's larger and has more seating available. Is there a minus one star rating? First off, do not go to the Santa Rosa location as you can barely move it is so crammed and small. We were told we could only sit outside (rather than give us a choice to wait for a seat or go outside since there was nothing available). Two minutes later seats open up. We order and my husbands food never comes. We ask about his burger and was told repeatedly a few more minutes. We were halfway done when it finally came and by that time said forget it. We were rushed completely in order to make room and the final straw was my fries thrown out before I was done. Lastly, my veggie burger was the most tasteless cardboard I have ever had even with the (cold) mushrooms they gave me they had forgotten. Forget this joint go elsewhere. read more

When you feel like having a juicy freshly made burger with all the fixings, crispy french fries or onion rings with a nice thick shake to wash everything down with ... then you'll want to go to Super Burger. But, I wouldn't recommend going to the newly opened one in Cotati. Although their location is better then the previous one ... somehow the food has lost its freshness and flavour. The buns were stale and hard. Instead of biting into a nice soft burger, it was more like a tug of war trying to get a bite. Both the fries and onion rings were greasy, soggy and cold. As if they'd been sitting in grease for most of the day. The milkshake was decent, though it seemed as if the quantity took a step down. It was a very disappointing meal. What a fabulous team of people at Super Burger. This was my third time visiting, first time reviewing. Superburger is a good lunch spot with great service, quick to get your food to the table and a good value. For less $ you can order a town and country burger which is smaller then the regular burger. Honestly it is just the right size in my opinion. And another thing is that all sandwiches can be ordered (for an upcharge) grass feed, chicken or vegan. There is a little something for everyone. From the 50/50 fries and onion rings, grass feed burgers, lettuce wrapped burgers and even chicken sandos instead of beef everything is always wonderful. I love the condiment and pickle bar, that way you can customize your sandwich. Oh and the milkshakes are HUGE, you get the whole sha-bang including the metal milkshake cup. Full disclosure, I came with a group of 13 people for lunch and we took over a whole section of the restaurant. I hope we were not too much for the lunch crowd but it is possible that we might have been too loud. Sorry about that. The waitstaff could not have been more accommodating to our large group during a busy lunch rush. read more

We walked into the restaurant and 2 tables were eating and no one in sight so quite you could here a pin drop. Except the 3 chattering girls in the back room. We waited to be seated and my husband went to the restroom and came out and was still waiting for one of the chatters came out!!! But no one still came out!! So I went back to the chatting room and told all 3 we were going to seat ourselves. Food was awesome but the service really sucked. The chatter continued the hole time we were seated. You would think there was something to do other then hold the walls up and chat!!! If this is how service is here in Cotati "which is 2 blocks from my house "I would rather go back to Santa Rosa where the service is friendly and welcoming!!!
