Where to even start!…read more We bought a house in Travisso several years ago and came across Brandy. As you can imagine, after buying a new house it's necessary to watch your expenses. Brandy was instrumental in really showcasing the house and also watching our for our pocketbook!! Over the next few years we would upgrade different sections of the house which culminated with a state of the art smart home theater! How much did we enjoy working with Brandy? We moved to AZ, where we employed her again.! Showing her pictures of the house, we could decide on the theme, colors, etc. We brought her out for a few days for some decorating after having the interior painted. Moving is normally so stressful and overwhelming but having Moxie here was the magic cure for that! (The other major component was using Heavenly Moving to do a full service move that included packing- highly recommend!) The Moxie team had EVERYTHING out of boxes with the cardboard broken down and packing paper all bagged up when they were done. They left me with a beautifully organized home, including all the drawers, cabinets, closets, even the "junk" drawer (which is too nice to even be called a junk drawer now lol) and the peg board in the garage! If I had tried to do the unpacking myself it would have taken months, it wouldn't have been completed so nicely, and there are things that would have probably never gotten done at all. I chose Inspired Closets Austin over vendors quoting less than half their price, sold on the idea of a high-end, family-owned business with premium quality and a lifetime warranty. To be fair, our designer Kathy was great -- professional, responsive, and understood our needs well. But the rest of the experience didn't live up to the pitch. We scheduled our install more than six weeks out and planned everything around it -- including clearing the space and coordinating new flooring -- only to get a call *the day before* saying they'd ordered the wrong cabinets. No prior warning, and the install was delayed nearly a month. They eventually waived the final 10%, but I had to follow up to make that happen. Then after install, I noticed one cabinet overhangs a step by nearly 2 inches. It wasn't flagged by the install team at any point, and I only noticed it later myself -- disappointing and surprising for what I was told was an "extremely custom" design. Inspired Closets talks like a premium service, charges like one, but doesn't deliver like one. I would not recommend them.

I have a new project where I recommended that my client take my drawing and have them design something similar for the laundry room as his new house has no cabinets there. They do a fabulous job here and you won't be disappointed. I use a custom cabinet company for custom millwork in the main living areas, etc.. but for closets and laundry rooms and even home offices I think they can do a great job! They did my master bedroom and den closets for me. I went with the darker wood because that's what I had throughout, but I recommend using white in closets as it doesn't show the dust as much.

More Space Place advertised Murphy and cabinet beds. The showroom was pretty with examples of how organized your life could be with their cabinets, bookcases, closet organization systems, and Murphy beds. When I asked about a floor model of a cabinet bed, I was sent to Furniture in the Raw (nearby) to view them as there were none in the MSP showroom. I didn't like having to lie to FITR about my visit -- it felt deceitful and I didn't appreciate being put in that position -- but the trip helped me decide. I selected a cabinet bed but didn't purchase immediately as I needed to "rehome" my day bed. I began receiving emails from the sales rep every other day asking me to sign a contract so the order could be placed. I had not expected such aggressive sales tactics and found them annoying. After about 6 weeks, I did go back, sign the contract, and paid in full for the bed. The sales rep agreed to have it delivered in four weeks after I returned from a trip (and before my expected house guests arrived in March). Yay! The trip was postponed (thanks, Covid), but the bed could not be delivered early as it was not yet available. The bed is manufactured in Malasia and the sales rep had no information about shipping. I contacted her again in two weeks, still nothing. At this point, she tried to direct my correspondence/calls to the "delivery team" (whom I had never met). My impression was she was tired of dealing with me and didn't want to be bothered with any follow-up questions. Another two weeks passed; no idea of where the cabinet bed was or when it would be delivered. Now my guest was arriving and I had to hustle to borrow a blow-up mattress! So, the bed was purchased in January and by mid-March there was still no idea of where it was or when it might be delivered. The last time I contacted the sales rep, she blamed the delay on "supply chain issues" and suggested any cancellation would result in more expense as the price had increased. I took that as a veiled threat to discourage me from cancelling, but I was also irked as I knew "supply chain issues" had not prevented her from communicating the status of my order during the previous 10 weeks. Prior to the sale, I received an onslaught of unsolicited emails; after the sale, supply chain issues halt communication? I call BS. I returned to Furniture in the Raw. Lo and behold, they had the exact cabinet bed in their warehouse and it could be delivered in three days. Double checked with MSP. Nope, would be after May 1 before the bed I bought might be available. Long story short: I canceled the MSP order and bought the bed from Furniture in the Raw. Yelp reviews suggest most people had better experiences than I did, but believe me, Five Star treatment is not guaranteed.
