Society isn't kind to women with curves and as someone who struggled with eating disorders her whole life, I had been beating myself up about my appearance. She approached those concerns from a loving place and has helped me look at clothing sizes in a more healthy way. In an industry that typically shames women for their "inadequacies" Thea helped me feel good myself. I love my color wheel and it's already proven so helpful during my most recent shopping trips. Her passion for style is visibly apparent, and her enthusiasm for helping you look your best is contagious. The Product: I love my color fan, and I take it everywhere with me - it's beautiful, first of all. On the more practical end, it's easy to use, and Thea has helped me to understand why certain colors work better than others, and how to use them, and what to look for. My style guide is detailed, personalized, and easy to use. Finally, the clothes I've bought with Thea..... well, I'm beyond happy with this. Raquel taught me so many things in just a few hours of time together. It was an amazing value and I'm saving money already by not spending it on the wrong colors, shapes, styles, sizes and I think about new items in a different way - how much I love it and how many different items it goes with in my existing wardrobe. I see which items have the most value and which are expensive mistakes that wouldn't be versatile enough to wear with other items in my closet. How did it work? The approach she used in my case was to review colors (by my request) and then Style, Shop, Style. She put together a bunch of outfits from head to toe with accessories and shoes out of my closet, before I bought anything. The next step was to go shopping - she made a shopping list based on wardrobe gaps that were preventing me from making more outfits. Then we met again to style the new items. She made multiple outfits from each of the items. We set aside some items for hemming and tailoring - which I've already gotten done. I learned how to put outfits together in a batch so I don't agonize over outfit making in the mornings when I haven't had coffee. And she sent me photos of almost 40 outfits she put together in the two styling sessions. I used those photos to pack for a 10 day business trip. I picked out which outfits I wanted for different situations on the trip, and packed all the items including jewelry and shoes and I knew what to put together each day. It was so easy! I think the best part was going from not having an outfit at all to being so put together that I get compliments every day. While I feel much more self-sufficient, I still have some changes to make in my style. I want to take this to another level and I'll be working with Raquel again to achieve that very soon.

The assignments she had me complete got me thinking critically (as in, analytically, not in a mean spirit...) about what I wear, well before our consultation. When she tackled my closet, I was surprised by the versatility of my existing, and fairly minimal, wardrobe. And while I was a little anxious about someone coming over and going through my clothes and style with a fine-tooth comb (kind of a personal thing!), Raquel was non-judgmental and enthusiastic; it was like having a friend over. Glad I did this, it was a great investment!

I am Gen X and 100% breastfeeding. Who else would be better at capturing breastfeeding than a boudoir photographer? Her prices are reasonable. She's about $1000 cheaper than the other photographer in Austin who also does hair and makeup. We paid $1085 total for two locations which included thirty three edited photos, hair and makeup, and three photo albums. The photo albums are high quality cardboard pages. We used the newborn photos that Katy took to order birth announcements on Shutterfly. We'll use the family photos for our Christmas cards later this year. We plan on hiring Katy again next year!

Very happy with Charlotte who by the way added me to her Monday schedule when it's super difficult to find someone! Also very happy with Jenn who was very prompt in returning my email. She also worked with my schedule because I work nights and I need the latest appointment available so I'm sure she had to coordinate with Charlotte. I had to change one of my choices because I went out on a date with my husband and she was sweet telling me to have a great night with him. She could have just ignored that but she chose to add a little bit of personality to what could have been a very impersonal email. That says a lot to me. Instantly ready to share previous customers we could reach out to for references. A really good balance between sharing his ideas for our project, but also really listening to our feedback on what we wanted/invisoned. All the right insights for how to keep us in budget, and very generous with (we can add this/that for little/no extra costs since we're already doing XYZ). We mainly requested a bid on two projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were very impressed with how realistic, but also open-minded he was with what portion of our "bonus" projects we could fit in. The formal quote came in fast after our initial meeting, was easy to follow, and fairly priced. Found the proposed timeline to be very well balanced for efficiency vs realism. Appreciated the suggestions provided for if we should/could "live-in" during the remodel vs. a timeline that would allow the bulk of the work to overlap with a time that we were going to be out of town already. Also insights on what it would be worth "buying in advance" to take advantage of sales, even if the actual work was delayed. We got a few quotes and would have felt confident moving forward with any of them when the time came, but the quality of their portfolio and Avi's attentive listening definitely put Teamwork Home Designs at the top of the list. Some aspects of the workmanship appeared rushed, and based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution with detail-oriented tasks such as wood staining, drywall, painting, or door hardware installation. This project did not go as smoothly as anticipated, and I would not choose to work with this company again.

I was referred to brandy by one of her past clients, I looked her up on yelp saw the amazing reviews she had and thought why not. And let me say it was honestly one of the best decisions I made, I recently moved into my own place for the very first time and I was over whelmed and just lost, I needed everything starting from the top down and I needed help! And that's exactly what brandy did for me!! After we had a first initial meeting about what I was wanting and my visionShe set up days to meet up with me at different house good stores and pretty much anything I liked she would tell me her honest but professional opinion, she also suggested many ideas, would send me pics of items even when she was off the clock she still always had my place in mind. When it came time to move she was there at my apartment first thing and helped me unpack everything, assemble things such as my dresser, tables and chairs. Day 2 she was there again first thing and painted a couple of accent walls! Day 3 she did all of the finishing touches, got everything hung up and all details perfected, I moved on a Saturday and was completely finished by Monday! Recently I decided to make a few improvements to my home interior. I never imagined what an impact this could make on me in the process. When I had to move from a large two bedroom into a small...cozy one bedroom apartment, as Brandy called it, I was a wreck. I didn't want to get rid of anything since I had spent years saving up and buying such amazing furniture, but due to the circumstances I had to make the move. I was left with a couch and lounge chair, a bookshelf, bed and a desk, among other odd-shaped what-nots I didn't know what to do with. We had actually worked with two different designers in the past for our home (a family connection who was based in San Antonio and gave a shot at one of those online services too), but unfortunately had very poor experiences so we were incredibly cautious as we explored who we wanted to work with for an investment like a remodel with a tight timeframe. We filled out a short intake questionnaire and put together a Pinterest board with style ideas and were blown away by how quickly she nailed our design aesthetic and knew exactly what we needed to do with the space. What I love most about Suzanna is that while she's an incredibly talented designer, she also works like an architect and was able to reconfigure a small space for us to maximize every square inch to somehow make our small room feel double to size and meet every functional need. Suzanna works by an hourly rate and I was very surprised how quickly she works and efficient she is with her time. She also includes you in as much or as little of the design process as you like. I wanted to be a part of everything because I wanted to learn, but I would have trusted her to make every decision without me there - and that is saying something since I'm very picky and have a very specific way I like things to look! I could not have dreamed a better experience in working with Suzanna. In fact, we are more open-minded for the next house we buy because we know we can use her to help us update it and make it our own! We can't wait to work with her again!

We had the best rapport with Kristi but her quote came in higher than the others (not by a huge amount but significant enough for us to debate). In the end, since we'd had previous projects where we went with cost savings and then weren't 100% satisfied after, we picked Fix It Chick. Definitely the right decision! The extra cost she estimated at the beginning just proved her in depth knowledge of the whole project and the excellence they'd be providing throughout. All of her contractors were great and the quality of their work was amazing. We thought we had a good eye for detail but still missed little things she spotted during her various walk throughs to have her team fix. I also really appreciated her initial consultations. We didn't have a very specific design vision and she really helped bring our general idea to life, choosing a handful of options for us to pick from in regards to tile, furniture, lighting, etc. She even solved a big-to-me problem in our bathroom of wanting to have our laundry hidden. She found shelving that had pull out hampers that were seamlessly integrated and the perfect size. We will definitely be going back to Kristi first for any future remodeling projects!

Budget/Quote-- Entire project cost was very close (within a few dollars) of the original quote and completed within the expected timeline. The only hiccup was when one of the components significantly rose in price from the custom supplier during the 2 weeks since Kristi made the quote. She then found a similar product online for a price within our budget. Tradespeople-- Everyone who was here was respectful of our space (having to move throughout most of the house to reach the bathroom) and cleaned up after themselves. They did high-quality work, which Kristi inspected regularly. Besides that, everyone was friendly and made us feel comfortable. Choices-- We told Kristi we had some ideas for style and design, so she asked for some inspiration photos. This guided us through choosing every component. When we were unsure, we asked for her opinion to help us decide. For many things, like the exhaust fan, toilet, and wafer lights, Kristi chose for us and got us quality products she'd used before and saved us from Choice Overload. The end result-- We are so happy with the bathroom now. It is not only beautiful, but also so much more functional than before. Working with Kristi-- Some reviewers said it took a while to get an appointment for a quote. I'm 100% OK with that. It shows that Kristi has plenty of business because she's good at what she does. This was a significant project for our home. Waiting for the right thing is worth it. Beyond that, Kristi was in constant communication with us throughout every stage. I appreciated her organization, such as the materials list and overview of the work by weeks, as well as a rundown of what work would be done each day M-F. About 10 years ago I did another major bathroom redo at a previous home. The contractor did not do any of this. There would be days when no one showed up to do any work, we never knew what was happening, and we had to constantly reach out to him and ask what was going on. Doing a major project on your home is inherently stressful; however, working with Kristi greatly minimized it.

In May2023, I picked out Daltile's Marazzi Zellige tile Gesso (imported from Italy) for October project. Was told by sales rep, no need to pick up early as this tile was always kept in stock. But I find out in October Daltile changed to manufacturer "Mohawk" (El Paso, TX) The Mohawk tile is very different: very little color variation (the hallmark of Zellige). In the attached photos I show what was originally chosen and the tile as it now looks installed. Very disappointed. Had I been informed they were changing manufacturer I could have ordered the original Zellige in May OR found authentic Zellige elsewhere. Instead I wasn't able to get my once-in-a-lifetime project done as hoped.

Once my wife and I purchased a new home in NW Austin we knew we were going to need help. We wanted our new home to reflect our style. The problem is that sometimes you have good taste but struggle to put it all together. I called Jill and she sent us Kelli Presses, a member of the Nine Design team. She is fantastic! Kelli arrived at our new home, took a tour, and immediately started listening to our thoughts regarding our aesthetic. The first thing Kelli did was help us rearrange our furniture in our living room. We spend most of our time in this room and she nailed it. Over the course of a few weeks Kelli helped us transform our entire house. From room layout to paint color to window treatments to accessorizing. In installation, Pablo went above and beyond in making our sink fit in the master bathroom--we had bought what we thought was the right dimensions, but when he pulled out the old one it was flat in back, instead of oval all around. He said he could try to cut it but it might break. We were fine with that risk--and he did a great job. Impressive.

My wife and I had new quartz slabs installed for our kitchen countertops, kitchen backsplash, and…read morebathroom countertop & backsplash. All of the quartz was fabricated and installed by Toluca. This was our first time working on such a project, and it was not cheap. Communicating with Nancy was great from the beginning to the end. She helped answer all of the questions and concerns that came up over a 6 week period while we shopped several suppliers, fabricators, and installers in North Austin. Toluca's quotes were the most competitive by far, and when we thought we had finally chosen our quartz material, Nancy suggested an alternative that was of similar quality and design but more affordable. It was an excellent suggestion, and we went with it. Installation took 2 days and was a very labor-intensive, DUSTY process. Fortunately we weren't living in our home during the installation. Unfortunately, there were a couple major mistakes made. We felt disappointed and immediately communicated the problems to Nancy the next day (Friday before Memorial Day). Nancy assured us that she would share our concerns during a large meeting that same day and that Toluca would resolve the issues. Well, Toluca came out on the following Monday, Memorial Day, to make things right. The final result turned out exactly as we had planned, and we are very pleased with the results. I will note that their installation team could have been more professional by cleaning up after themselves instead of leaving trash and tools behind, and this was also mentioned to Toluca. However, I have to give Toluca credit for standing up to their mistakes and following through to make sure we felt completely satisfied. They certainly did that in several ways, and we appreciate them. I want to give Honorato a shout out because he was enjoyable to interact with, and he helped build my confidence in Toluca. He came out twice for the initial and final measurements before the install, and he came out a third time on Memorial Day to fix the major concerns and a fourth time to fine tune a hole cut that we needed to enlarge. We would consider Toluca again for the future, and we recommend researching them for your countertop project.
