One thing we really appreciated was how she worked with us: she sent Pinterest boards with curated suggestions for rugs, furniture, and accessories, which let us shop and pick out what we loved within her design direction. Whenever I found something on my own, I could send it to her and she'd let me know if it fit the style we were going for. That collaborative approach made the whole process feel personal rather than having someone just dictate a design to us. She was also hands-on when we needed it, helping with installs like placing a rug underneath the primary king sized bed. We couldn't figure out how to hang pictures in the foyer and she sent a drawing to help us with it. (FYI- Painters normally charge $15-20/sf.) Also, I found Jamie's communication style a little too direct and opinionated when recommending what family heirlooms and pieces I should get rid of, especially before establishing the look I wanted. I just never felt the connection or inspiration I had hoped to have with Jamie. Instead, I went to Bassett where there are great design consultants at no charge and custom furniture with great sales!
