I was in high hopes Jamie at Diva would be able to help me with my decorating project but the two times she came to my house, she arrived 30-minutes early (9:30 instead of 10 am). Once, I was just getting out of the shower when she arrived with the painter. Instead of offering to wait in her car, she invited herself in with the painter to look around while I got dressed! It was awkward, so I agreed, but by the time I was dressed, 7-10-minutes later, the painter had gone! So I didn't get to be a part of that discussion. When I finally got the quote several weeks later, it was for $9,400 - for a 1650 SF house!! I knew that was ridiculously high, so I decided to get a 2nd quote which was $3800! (FYI- Painters normally charge $15-20/sf.) Also, I found Jamie's communication style a little too direct and opinionated when recommending what family heirlooms and pieces I should get rid of, especially before establishing the look I wanted. I just never felt the connection or inspiration I had hoped to have with Jamie. Instead, I went to Bassett where there are great design consultants at no charge and custom furniture with great sales! read more

They do not want your business, your presence is an annoyance. We specifically went to the square for this store, it just happened to be during the monthly street fair. No one at Diva would give us the time of day. When we asked about a project they finally showed interest and scheduled a paid in home appointment once they heard our budget. In home appointment went well, we received a quote and visited the store again 2 weeks later. We just dropped in to look at additional fabric choices and get a better understanding on how the Hunter Douglas motorized shades worked. Again we were ignored by everyone in the store. While looking at the Hunter Douglas blinds some self empowered guy, walked up to us, said the remotes for the blinds shouldn't be out, took them out of our hands and took them to the 2nd floor!? My wife and I just stared at each other before asking, did that really just happen? We went back the next weekend, talked to the one of the people who visited our house, asked our questions, but she couldn't find the remotes that Chad took from us the week before. We got the message. There is good customer service, no customer service and bad customer service. They actively treated us in a way that pushed us to find someone else to do business with. read more

This review is for the fantastic interior design consultation provided by Jamie Lawlis. For a nominal fee, Jamie came to our home and assessed our design needs, gained better understanding of our family's lifestyle, saw the colors throughout our home, the lighting, etc. She took pictures and measurements. While at our home, she asked if she could move one of our couches a slight bit. Wow! The change that move alone made was remarkable. Shortly thereafter, I went to the studio and met with Jamie. She shared with me her recommendations. She allowed me to take several fabric samples home to see them in different lighting. Jamie is fantastic at what she does, friendly, and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Diva for their interior design services and more specifically Jamie Lawlis. read more

I've lived in Georgetown for almost three years and have coveted the beautiful items in the Diva store window from day one. For no particular reason, I'd never been in the store until a couple of weeks ago. My teenaged daughter and I walked in one evening about an hour before they were to close. Mind you, we weren't coming in from the pool or the lake or anything, we were dressed for an appointment we'd had earlier and for dinner afterward. (Not that I think people should be treated differently based on their appearance anyway.) Meanwhile, there were FOUR people working - including the owner - and not one of them greeted us. They stood in a circle talking with each other and didn't even acknowledge our presence. Finally a young man (stock clerk?) said hello (but did not offer assistance). One of the women (the owner, I think) glanced over at us and when we met eyes, she half smiled at me but said nothing. We walked around the entire store looking at various home decor items and talking (loudly at this point) about decorating our NEW HOME. Still no offer of assistance, no "are you looking for something special?," no acknowledgement whatsoever. I finally spoke to one of the women who I recognized from seeing around town. It took her a minute to feign any recognition of me. I TOLD HER I had just bought a new home and was in the process of decorating it (the other 2 women were standing there as well) and NO ONE asked if they could help me find something. NOTHING. At that point, I walked out, and I will NEVER walk back in... What a shame. I have money to spend. Guess I'll just have to spend it with people who actually want my business. Oh, and I'll be sure to tell all of my friends and associates to do business elsewhere as well. read more

Charming store. There are a lot of lovely items in there. Even if the prices are high, you pay for what you get - it's not a thrift store or consignment shop. The staff was friendly enough when we entered and made conversation with us as we were leaving. I have just visited Diva for the "best" holiday decor in the Austin area. I have been shopping this store for 4 years and each time I go in ~ I am treated like an old friend. G-Town is so lucky to have this shopping mecca at their fingertips. There is never pressure to buy ~ but I do ~ as the unique finds I select are perfect. read more

Very surprised by these reviews. I moved to the Austin area from another state, so I checked out many different businesses as we were furnishing our home. Diva stands heads and shoulders above many home decor stores in both directions North and South. They became some of my only friends in the area. I never felt snubbed or overlooked in the store. They always worked with me on pricing and were THE MOST ACCOMIDATING people I did business with. I am by far not a wealthy person. Yet they assisted me in adding some beautiful pieces to my home. I can't say enough nice things about Jeanine and her staff (including her husband). They are all the best. read more

I paid for a consultation at my home with one of their designers. She was very attentive and had great ideas. She said she would put together a design and we would get together at a later date. After 2 weeks I hadn't heard anything so I called her and we met the next day at Diva. I loved the design and samples she showed me. I took the samples home for a few days and was ready to proceed. I dropped the samples off at Diva and that is the last I contact I have had with the shop. I did not receive a follow-up call, quotes on the work, or anything. I was so disappointed in the customer service but I refuse to work with a company when I have to initiate and follow-up myself. read more

A very snobby store. They were "Oh so friendly" while I was purchasing. The minute I purchased they dropped me. They will not answer the questions I email, and they do not care if you are happy with your purchase or not. Once you pay, you are SOL. Boy, was I fooled. Sorry they have my money. read more

I came into Diva to look at furniture for my home. The people in the shop were very rude. They did not ask me if I needed any help and seemed annoyed that I was there. The prices they have for their furniture are very high compared to other places in and around Georgetown. Stay away unless you like to be ignored. read more

Snooty, been in there 3 times, and with about $1000 to spend on furniture, and the people at the front desk didn't so much as say "hello," when I walked in the door...3 separate times in a row. I don't patronize businesses like this. It's up to you, but, if you want a friendly staff and proprietor, perhaps look elsewhere? read more
