Yes, there's seemingly one every couple of miles on the OBX.... BUT, if you need a quality hoodie because the temps just dropped without warning, a canvas tote bag for the beach because you left your boat bag at home, a swimsuit because your strap just snapped, or a gazillion souvenirs to take back to your houses inter, etc. - this is your go-to. The prices are mostly fair, and you can go high or low, depending on your situation. And yes, everyone hates that hermit crabs are kept in filthy tanks for clueless tourists to buy - many of which are no longer even alive. It's cruel and grotesque in this day and age. So here's hoping the evil overlords will see the numerous complaints and stop torturing defenceless hermit crabs. read more

I bought two items from there and wanted to look elsewhere for some stuff. They always display they are having a "sale" when it's really just cheap crap. The beach towels we bought are literally see through. I then asked where to buy stuff in an OBX Facebook group other than Super Wings and one of their buyers harassed me on an OBX Facebook group because I asked for suggestions on where to buy things other than super wings. His family owns all of them. Their stores are overwhelming and cheap. Look at Farmers Daughter, Parrot Bay or The Cotton Gin for better stuff and nicer people. read more

One day...maybe one day...I will finally get that coveted "KDH" sticker. This is -- supposedly -- the only place on the NC Outer Banks where you can get it. Not sure if that's true because it's never been here. They have TONS of apparel, and you can easily get lost in here looking at all of it: shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, joggers, shorts, hats, you name it. We got a couple warm shirts on this last visit. You can also find swimsuits, boogie boards, drinkware, stuff for the beach, and lots of beach-y home decor tchotchkes here. read more

6/21/20 There are a lot of Super Wing stores in the Outer Banks area. Driving up and down the road you will most likely see one every seven minutes or sooner. This store is marked as the third store in Nags Head, but to me it is the number one store. I will get to the reason why in a moment. This store is close to where we are stay for the week and after walking for four miles. My wife developed blisters on her feet from the flip flops she was wearing. We had walked by our rental house on our sight seeing and her feet paid the price. After buy some medical supplies and grabbing a bite to eat, I wanted my wife to wear some comfortable footwear made for the beach. My wife sometimes picks stuff that is cute, but not comfortable to wear. Yes, I know the sayings, but I go with Style and Comfort. So when entering the store, I made my way to the sandal section and found some that had a combination of both comfortable and cute...a word I hear way to much. The sandals are black and pink, but the design that holds your feet in the sandal us what caught my eye. My wife is a size 7 so it took some time to find the same color in her size. I saw the same sandal in gray and blue, but those would not hold the same weight as the hot pink. I did locate the type of sandal and headed for the check out line. I did see a North Carolina Outer Banks comfortable feeling sweater that I am seriously considering buying. The manger who called me over is a sweet young lady. I don't remember her name, but I will get it before I leave North Carolina. I explained that my wife had blisters on her feet and could get out of the car to see the shoes I wanted to buy for her. I made ready to ask if I could exchange the footwear if she didn't like them, but the manager said "go ahead and show them to my wife." Mind you, I would have used my phone, but it was in the car recharging. I have no picture for this business so now I have a better reason to return to this store. The small act of kindness the manager showed me made all the difference in the world. I knew what my wife would and wouldn't like and I nailed it this time around. Walking back to the store the manager rung me up and I ended up buy small powerful flashlight my wife can carry instead of the big a bulky one she brought with her. Walking on the beach at night tonight is all part of the plan. I also plan on returning to this store and thanking the manager again for making our day. We will return to this store again. read more

My heart broke when I walked in here and saw that they were selling Live painted snails!!! Not only is it extremely cruel to the snails because the paint is toxic to them but also, you know that anybody purchasing these for their kids on vacation are just going to kill them. Huge selections except they didn't have any shark tooth necklace for boys, (but other stores on Kill Devil Hills/Nags Head didn't have authentic anyway). The sales were good. I got OBX basketball shorts for $10 and classic swim trunks for $12. We were there for a large family beach blanket and they did not let us down. read more

What a souvenir shop! Very large indeed with very reasonable pricing. All you're beach toys/gear can be found here. From flip flops, tank tops, swimwear, it's all here. I did have a problem identifying sizes of the men's swimming shorts. While they are literally stocked from floor to ceiling, the hangers holding them to the wall, many didn't have the sizes. The only way was to actually take them down and look/see. That's a pain. But otherwise great selection and friendly counter staff. read more

You got to love wings! They have just about every souvenir you could ever want. The prices are reasonable. The staff is not always so helpful, but they are polite. The best time to visit Wings is in late August when they clearance everything 50-70%. That's when I buy the kids boogie boards and t-shirts. read more

Many different sizes of boogie boards, but they weren't cute but thats usually the case with body boards. They all say OBX on the back. They have many hats of different sizes. I only explored the right side of the store, so I wasn't able to see the full inventory and store. This Super Wings had post cards priced at 2 for $1. The like 2 million Wings stores, all in abhorred, hideous 1980's looking pastel buildings, should be avoided. The shirts were all of such poor quality that we couldn't even purchase one for a souvenir. It was pretty much crap city (except for the oversized Bob Marley portrait towels they had hanging everywhere, natch). However, their juniors apparel seemed on trend. why still the A-ok rating? Sometimes you need to go into a store like Wings. You know what I am talking about...you don't mind buying a crappy OBX sweatshirt at 50% off for the neighborhood tween watching your cat while you are gone for the week. p.s. I always love going to Wings no matter where I am located. And this location did not disappoint me at all. We came in and everything was nicely stocked and neat and clean. Walked around a bit and picked up a few T-Shirts and some sandals for the little one. We ended up with spending more then what I wanted for but we got two of the two shirts for $20 deals and a toy. Such a great place to get your beach items that you want or need so stop on in because they have what you need. read more

Not a whole wide variety for mens clothes. Staff wasn't very friendly. But also could have been the people who were working that day. Vacation wise, they have everything you need. Chairs, bathing suits, goggles, not a good spot to go if your looking for a "souvenirs" the stuff seems cheaply made. Good place for quick pick ups. read more

Would give less than a star, if I could. My boyfriend and I went into the bathroom to freshen up after a walk. The staff then proceeded to follow us around the entire store and make obvious comments to one another about us going in together. Was extremely uncomfortable. On top of the fact that the staff was beyond unfriendly, their hermit crab containment was very inhumane. With no water, most of the crabs were dead and their mutilated body parts were spread throughout the cage causing that side of the store to stink. If you're trying to find beach souvenirs, I highly suggest one of the many other options offered in the area. read more

This place buys their junk from the dollar store and then re-sells it for $5 (or more). The only thing of worth from this crayon box colored store were the t-shirts. All the other souvenirs are the same crappy souvenirs made of plastic and have replaceable writing on them so they are able to re-word to sell at other vacation places... ie - the mugs have pictures of seagulls then have "Outer Banks" written in black... the same mugs that say "Ocean City" on them in Maryland and "Virgina Beach" in Virginia, etc, etc, etc. read more

Great store chain..this store has a wide variety of souveniers...shirts, nick nacks, pants, boogie boards, beach things, etc. Prices are a little high but anywhere you go on vacation you will find that. This store is worth a look. read more

We stopped to buy our daughter a hermit crab because her beloved one passed. There was NO water in the hermit crab cage. When we told the clerk, she said that they were short staffed and not able to take care of them (all 5 clerks were staring out the window when we entered the store). She then proceeded to throw the spare shells that we purchased on top of the crabs. I then offered to get them water and she said no. Did I mention that many of the crabs were dead? I proceeded to get their sponges and water bowl out of the cage myself and found a restroom so that I could get them water. We ended up buying 6 crabs to try to sve them from Wings.. When we got them home, they drank like there was no tomorrow. Shame on you Wings! read more

all things OBX!!! my wife and kids would give it 5 stars, but i couldnt be bothered! crowded, overpriced, junky stuff. but with that said, i go there everytime i am there and spend money!! amazing! i still have my bob marley bracelet on since july! my wife gets the higher quality hoodies, and my daughter gets ankle bracelets and a bob marley towel. my son gets pool toys and rubber sharks. i was impressed last year when my freind got a bracelet, and it broke the next day, he went to try and match it. the girl there saw it, and replaced it for free. little things mean alot. read more
