Came in looking for cute keychains for me and my friend and left with a feeling of disgust and pity. At least a hundred hermit crabs in one small cage with no substrate, something they need to properly live. Overcrowded so badly they couldn't even move with the smallest and dirtiest water bowl. For those who don't know, the sale of hermit crabs is incredibly inhumane to begin with but these conditions were heartbreaking. These animals are meant to live 30 years in the wild, but they will die within weeks or months in these conditions. Do not support this business or the sale of hermit crabs, they are not as easy to take care of as these stores want you to think. If the treatment of the crabs wasn't enough to turn you off of this store, then at least listen that the merchandise was crappy and the store dirty. read more

Came here & signs everywhere "T-shirts Buy 3, Get 1 Free", "All t-shirts... ", "all table t-shirts..." Went to counter with 4 shirts plus other items, paid & realized as walking away from counter that a shirt wasn't removed for sale. Cashier got manager, Julija (I assume... since that's the name on my refund receipt), she tells me there's a sign that has a price on it... we walk together to the shirts & there is a sign w/ the price but NO WHERE on the sign/shelves does it say they are not included in the sale. I tell her I want to return 2 shirts then, she tells me store credit. I literally, took 2 steps from counter & that i'm not accepting store credit. She reluctantly gave me a refund & mumbles "next time you should read the signs"... I tell her "next time your signs need to be clear". Never again, will I spend money at a Sunsations! If manager isn't Julija... it's whatever manager was working June 25th. Such a jerk! read more

6/29/20 On 6/27/20 I found this place to be very similar to Super Wings. I found there are a lot of things at a higher price than Super Wings. Nevertheless, I still looked around and saw one thing that got my attention. This would be the dragon towels for $11.00 on this day. I almost bought one, but then asked myself this question. " Do I really need it? No, I didn't really need it. So I took a picture of it and that was enough. One thing I did not like was the sagging style ofbone of the staff member. Some of the other customers did not find looking at a guy's butt attractive. It's not a look that is appropriate for the work place. Invest in a belt and tighten it. Just saying... Aside from that, the store is okay, but I did not see anything I needed to buy this time around. read more

This store was just a mess. From the minute I walked in here I had that feeling that I wasn't going to find what I wanted and ended up leaving without a thing. Let me delve into that a little more. What was advertised for the week ended up not being well stocked. Not only did they not have the stock they also did not have a varying size variety. In my case I was either too fat or too skinny for what I wanted. When we approached an employee for help it was like a burden to inconvenience them. We asked if there were more sizes in the back and without looking we were told that is all they had. Even though they were in the process of stocking items with boxes visible from an open door to the stock room. Whatever, there are several other locations of this particular store and other stores in general that would gladly take my money for what I wanted. read more

Nice little souvenir shop, everything was very reasonably priced. Had everything I forgot to pack for a day at the beach. Surprisingly easy to find everything I was looking for and the staff were friendly. read more

First of all, this store is a stereotypical souvenir store chain here at the outer banks. The reason the review is so high, is that I was able to get everything I needed in a short amount of time. What I needed was a boogie board for the beach. When I walked in I could easily see the wall of chairs and boogie boards. The coolest part is that they had boogie boards with sports teams on it. I am a huge New York Yankees fan, and they had a Yankees boogie board for only fifteen bucks. I ended up getting it along with a couple of other things and a free box of taffy. They also had a fantastic hermit crab section. Of course there were many other souvenirs such as magnets, shirts, and other trinkets. read more
