I stumbled upon Absolutely Outer Banks a handful of years ago and I was impressed with the selection of locally made arts and crafts. Ever since, this is my go to spot for legitimate and tasteful Outer Banks souvenirs. In addition to locally made items they also have some vintage items and even some new items for sale. One item that this store specializes in is really cool resin windows that are unique and exude happiness. Absolutely Outer Banks has artwork in all mediums and in all price points. They have jewelry, wood signs, candles, prints, glass work, textiles, metal work, etc.  On my most recent visit I enjoyed looking at a vintage pin ball machine and eyeing up the beautiful array of Fiestaware. There is plenty of opportunity for ooohhhing and ahhhing.  The owner is super friendly so that adds to the overall great experience. Absolutely Outer Banks is centrally located in Kitty Hawk in the former spot of a bank.

We were really excited to see this place open until 6 on Easter Sunday so we rushed over around 2pm to ensure we could walk around and browse. So glad we did! This store is choc-full of unique items, from local artist prints, gems, hand-made pottery, stationery, cards, jewelry, sculptures and art pieces made from repurposed items to garden decor. We can't wait to stop back by when we're in the area.

When I looked on Google I was mistaken by the car show that they had last week thinking there was gonna be cool cars to look at. They have metal signs, t shirts and all sorts of cool stuff though. The prices are mostly fair, and you can go high or low, depending on your situation. And yes, everyone hates that hermit crabs are kept in filthy tanks for clueless tourists to buy - many of which are no longer even alive. It's cruel and grotesque in this day and age. So here's hoping the evil overlords will see the numerous complaints and stop torturing defenceless hermit crabs.
